It is very common that you missed an amazing shot because you forget to change correct ISO, Shutter Speed or aperture. So our suggestion is to take a look at your photography checklist to avoid those silly mistakes. You should use the photography checklist to be sure that all your photography equipment are okay and ready to go and you are ready to do the job flawlessly.

What is a photography checklist?

Photography checklist is a helpful guide to follow before photographing anything. A useful guideline or a to-do list which will guide you for a particular photography session. A photography checklist includes those below points:

Lists of Gears and Lenses needed for the particular session.
Is all equipment are okay to go?
Selecting background and overall location.
Making a written manual checklist if needed.
Weather protection equipment.
Focusing, Cropping and Framing

Why photography checklist?

Using photography checklist means getting ready before any photography session. You have to check things before shooting photos. Suppose you are going out for a weeding photography session then you may prefer a prime lens than a kit lens. Here we will discuss about two different points to check photography checklist.

Before leaving home for a photography session:

We have to check few things before leaving for photography. Just keep an eye on the checklist to be sure that everything is fine. We have to check:-

Is correct lenses are packed?
Is there enough space in memory card?
Did you recharge your batteries?
Are you taking weather Shields for your gear?
Are you missing any essential accessories?
Did you clean your photography equipment properly?

Check the lenses:

I love landscape photography and portrait photography. What is your passion? What are you going to photograph? Is it a wedding photography session or wildlife photography session or portrait photography session? You have to check your gear box closely. If you are going for a wedding photography session then you can take 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens, 50mm f/1.2Lens or 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Lens and if are going out for wildlife photography then you can better take 600mm f/4L IS II USM Lens or 200-400mm f/4L IS USM lenses. Those lenses are high budget lenses. There are also low budget lenses those you can prefer instead. Take a look into your gear list and pick the correct lenses for a particular photography session.

Check memory card status:

Our suggestion is to keep at least two memory cards and format your memory card before you go out. If there is no image or video files in memory card, system files can take some spaces, so it’s better to format the memory card to get the full card space. If you want to buy a new memory card then our suggestion is don’t buy a cheap worthless memory card. Check the memory card class before buying it. You should go for at least class 10 memory card. Class 10 memory card give you a high speed (about 10 mbps) of copying and smooth browsing experience. You can’t record a continuous 1080p HD video without a class8 or class 10 memory card. So a top brand high quality memory card is a must.

Check for batteries life:

You should keep two batteries in your gear box. If you are going out for videography then keeping extra batteries is a must because videography can drain your battery life. On the other hand if you to use a lot of flash (insufficient light source/low light photography) in your photography then you should take an extra battery with you. Don’t forget to take the battery charger and if you have a battery grip don’t forget to take it.

Check for weather Shields:

This part is very important for wildlife photographers as well as other photographers. Weather shields is very important for outdoor photography during rainy season. Weather Shields price is affordable so we suggest you to keep it in your box. Lens hood helps your lens to avoid direct sunlight so you should keep it also.

Check for photography accessories:

It is a very common habit to forget taking some important accessories in the camera bag. So before you leave check whether you take all your accessories in your camera bag. Main camera accessories are Camera flash, wireless flash triggers, photo bokeh paper, camera remote shutter releases, tripod, light meter, battery grip, lens cap holder, UV lens filter, camera polarizing filters, Camera Color Filters etc. You don’t need all of them at the same time but check for all important accessories you need for a particular photography session.

Clean all your photography equipment:

Check if you cleaned all your gear and accessories properly. A dust spot in your lens can ruin a beautiful photo. Especially when you capture bokeh then a dust spot can spoil all your bokeh in a single frame. Once I had this experience. I captured a lot of bokeh with a Canon 50mm 1.8 II lens which has some dust spots inside the lens (I didn’t notice before) during a travel and the result was Ouch… I managed to recover those pictures with the help of Adobe Photoshop but this is too much annoying.

You can use lens cleaning tissues, Microfiber cleaning cloth, Liquid cleaning solution, Lens cleaning pen and dust blower to clean you gear and accessories.

Checklist to follow in the shooting spot

You have to check few things before taking photos in the shooting location. Most of the tips in this section are related to photography tips but they are very essential to remember and very crucial to check before you start shooting photos.

Take a close look at your subject/ is your subject ready?
Check ISO settings
Check for correct exposure
Don’t miss the correct focus
Check the background
Framing

Take a close look at the subject:

Are you photographing a wedding couple or shooting wildlife photos of animals or shooting landscape? You have to think about the subject. Is your subject ready for shooting? The subject of the photo is the main element of photography. To be successful I think subject should be clear, well focused and sharp. I know in creative shooting focusing the actual subject isn’t necessary all the time. This is a general rule for all photographers. And I believe if you know all the photography rules well you can then break all the rules for a creative shot. That’s exceptional.

Check ISO Settings:

You have to change the ISO depending on the time and lighting conditions. ISO settings differs in open shade, heavy overcast, very cloudy, sunny day or in low light conditions. Learn Sunny 16 Rule to apply it properly. But remember the lower the ISO the better the picture is. Higher ISO produces grainer images. So try to keep it low always. But in low light condition you have to increase the number.

Check for correct exposure:

If you have a light meter then measuring correct exposure is easy for you but if you don’t have it then you have to understand exposure well. Learning exposure will help you to shoot photos without a light meter. Correct exposure is a perfect combination of ISO, Aperture and shutter speed which ensures your image is not going to be underexposed or overexposed.

Don’t miss the correct focus:

Suppose your camera is set to manual focus and you are in outdoor for capturing some flying birds. It is quite impossible to shoot flying birds with manual focus because the subject is changing its position constantly. So check the focus mode in different photography scenarios whether it is set to manual or auto-focus.

Check the background:

Background is very important for creative photo-shoots. Good depth of field gives high quality portraits. During wedding photography and wildlife photography, photos with green blurry background looks very outstanding and creative.

Framing:

A nice framing idea can change the whole picture. Framing is basically concerned with the subject position and perspective of the viewer. The main objective here is to gain the viewer’s attraction. Learning Repoussoir, Depth of field, white space and Rule of Thirds can lead you better results.

Search only in YouTube videos by Google Search Tricks:

The filter will search videos those are in HD mode and longer than 30 minutes. And if you use Short instead of Long in the filter it will shows videos lesser than 4 minutes. Use hyphen (-) (Boolean Operators) to exclude phrases from YouTube search results:

We can use hyphen (-) to exclude some phrases or keywords in the YouTube search bar.

This search will exclude “live” word from the result. So if we want Rammstein video songs without live performances we can search this way. This results will show music videos, interview, and audio songs excluding all results having “live” keyword. This method of YouTube video search is very useful.

How to block/prevent access to windows Registry Editor

We all are concerned about our computer‘s security. We don’t want any unauthorized access, data leakage, unwanted programs or anyone to change the way our computer runs. So what to do? Windows operating system itself has some solutions. We don’t need any 3rd party software. We can enforce strict security measures by blocking USB ports, blocking windows command prompt, restrict access to registry editor by Group Policy editor gpedit, by Windows Registry Editor or by other registry editing tools.

What is windows Registry Editor?

Windows registry editor is a registry editing tool provided by windows operating system to the advanced computer users. You can view and change the settings in system registry the way you want to run your computer. You can install, uninstall new programs, block any website , create user profile add and remove any hardware and many more.

Restrict, disable or Prevent access to Windows Registry Editor:

We will show you three different ways to disable or restrict access to Registry Editor. You must have to have administrative privilege to change the settings.

Prevent access to Registry Editing Tools using Windows Group Policy Editor/GPEDIT

Type gpedit.msc in the box and hit ENTER
Go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System
Look at the right pane and search for “Prevent Access To Registry Editing Tools”

Double click on it and set as Enable. Click on Apply > Ok.

If anyone open the registry editor he/she will face “registry editing has been disabled by your administrator” error message.

Enable access to Registry Editing tools using Windows Group Policy Editor/GPEDIT:

*** This method restrict all users including you from registry editing. If you want to enable access or regain access to registry editing tools then revisit to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System and set the value of “Prevent Access to Registry Editing Tools” as “Not Configured”.

Restrict or Prevent access to Registry Editor using Windows Registry Editor/REGEDIT:

Open Windows Run by pressing (Windows key +R)
Type “regedit” in the box and hit ENTER
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > System
Look at the right pane and search for “DisableRegistryTools”
Double click on it and change the value to 1
Click on Apply > Ok

Enable access to Registry Editing tools using Registry Editor:

*** If you want to enable access or regain access then again navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > System and change the value of DisableRegistryTools with “0”. Set other users type as Standard User so they can’t be able to write in registry and only you have the right of editing in registry editor.

Restrict, disable or Prevent access to Registry Editor using Windows Command Prompt/CMD:

Open Windows Run by pressing (Windows key +R)
Type “cmd” and press ENTER
In the box paste the quoted value “REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f”
This will disable user’s access to windows registry editor.

Enable access to Registry Editing tools using Windows Command Prompt:

*** To enable access to registry editor again paste the quoted value “REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f” in the command prompt.

Note: When trying to enable registry editor again you may receive:

ERROR: Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator and prompt.

To solve this problem type “net user administrator /active:yes” in the cmd and press Enter in order to enable default administrator account.

Remember, this is very important to a network administrator of a large company or to you if you have a computer having too many user accounts then you need to block/disable/restrict/prevent access to windows Registry Editor to avoid unauthorized access to windows registry or prevent your computer from unwanted programs such as virus. You can use registry editing tools like by Group Policy gpedit/gpo/registry editing tools/windows command prompt, any method you like. These methods will work with windows 10/8 or windows 7.

How to Enable/Disable lock/Unlock USB Ports

You can enable USB protection by simply lock USB storage access or disable USB ports of all USB hub to prevent data leakage by USB drive. This is very important for a software company, IT firm or any private business who don't want to share their private documents or want to restrict users from taking any data from the work station. So you can better block/disable USB access to mitigate your business’s security risks and protect your sensitive files. On the other hand I will also show you how to enable or unblock USB drive, the only thing you need is administrative privilege to do the job. You can also block windows command prompt to ensure more security.

How to Enable/Disable/lock/unlock USB ports or drives

I will show you six easy methods of enabling/ disabling USB access of a computer without any USB lock software. Windows operating system itself has the solution. If you’re the administrator then use any of the following methods to Enable/Disable USB drive of your computer. If you found the USB access disabled then I suggest you to try every method because you’re not sure which way the USB port access was disabled.

1. Enable or Disable USB ports via Device Manager.
2. Enable/Disable USB ports by changing registry values in windows registry editor.
3. Enable or Disable USB ports by installing or uninstalling USB mass storage drive.
4. Enable/Disable USB ports through BIOS set up.
5. Enable or Disable USB ports by changing permissions to usbstor.inf and usbstor.pnf files.
6. Lock or Unlock USB ports of front panel by connecting or disconnecting USB header.

Enable or Disable USB ports via Device Manager:

Press Windows key+R
In the “Run” type devmgmt.msc
This will open Device Manager of the computer. Now look for Universal Serial Bus Controller and double click on it.
In the sub-menu panel check any port whether it is disabled by the admin.

Enable all the ports.

*** You can disable USB ports by disabling all the ports in the Universal Serial Bus Controller.

Enable/Disable USB ports by windows registry editor:

This is also an easy option. You can block or unblock USB by changing the registry values.

Press Windows key+R
In the “Run” type> regedit
Navigate to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SYSTEM> CurrentControlSet> Services> USBSTOR”
In the right side pane double click on START and change its value to 3 to enable USB ports.

Click Apply> OK

*** To disable USB Storage change START value to 4 in the right pane of USBSTOR. Click apply then OK. You will be able to use pen drive now.

Lock or Unlock USB ports by installing or uninstalling USB mass storage drive:

When authorities are really cautious about security of the important documents and they can enforce this method. Admin can uninstall mass storage drive.

Insert any USB drive and let windows find the right compatible USB driver for your USB disk.
Windows will check for appropriate driver. Update the USB driver and you will be able to use USB ports then.
You have to have admin access to apply this method.

*** To uninstall USB mass storage drive go to device manager and select the USB driver from Universal Serial Bus Controller. Right click on it and click uninstall.

Enable/Disable USB ports through BIOS set up:

To disable USB port in bios settings follow those simple steps:

Enter BIOS edit menu by pressing DEL when computer starts at the very first page.
Look for the option “enable or disable the on-board USB ports”
Turn of all USB and Legacy USB Support to disable USB port.
After changing the value press F10.
Save and Enter.
Computer will then restart now check the USB ports to be sure that they have been properly disabled.

*** To turn on or enable USB ports via BIOS simply enable all USB and Legacy USB supports.

Enable or Disable USB by changing permissions to usbstor.inf and usbstor.pnf:

Open windows explorer
Type “%windir%\inf” and hit ENTER
Now you’re in the C:\Windows\INF folder. Look for usbstor.inf and usbstor.pnf files.

You have to change the permission in both files.
Right click on the file and select Properties. Then Go for securities tab.
Select the user or users group you want to control. Like Users or Administrators.
To change permissions click on EDIT.

To block any user or user group DENY all attributes and to unblock any groups or users click on Full control, or you can manually check the boxes.

***If you deny all the value to any user then he/she will not be able to install any USB driver in your computer and if you allow full control to any user he/she will be able to install USB driver.

Disconnect Desktop computer’s front USB port by disconnecting USB header:

This is a very old method. This will only work for front USB panel.

In the computer casing USB ports were connected by USB headers.
Simply unplug the USB header to disable/block front USB panel

***You can enable it again by connecting the USB header.

USB storage's like pen drive, flash drive or USB memory sticks can deliver malware infections that can lead to data leakage, and bring auto play virus or any other unwanted programs. Sometime disabling USB ports is a must. To a large company customer data, company’s financial information, employee data, business plan, source code, marketing plan and intellectual property is very much important. This is a very easy thing to do. You don’t need any third party software to do it. After blocking command prompt if you try to type any command in command prompt you will get this message “The command prompt has been disabled by your administrator”. I will share some easy tips with you. Only you need is admin access of the computer to edit in windows command prompt.

Disable/block windows Command Prompt using Group Policy Object (GPO):

Press “windows key+R” to open run
Type “gpedit.msc” and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor

Look at the panel at the right side saying “Prevent access to the command prompt”

Double click on it to set the change in the policy.
By default it is set as “Not Configured” >Set it to “Enabled” and click Apply then OK.

The command prompt has been disabled by your administrator.

Enable/Unblock windows command prompt in Windows by GPO

To unblock command prompt in Windows-
Navigate to “User Configuration>Administrative Templates>System”. In the right panel look for “Prevent access to the command prompt” and set the value to “Not Configured” and press Apply then OK.

Disable/Block Windows Command Prompt using Registry Editor:

Follow those simple steps:

Press “windows key+R” to open run
Type “regedit” and open Registry Editor.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Software >Policies >Microsoft >Windows >System
Sometime you may not find Windows or System Key then you have to create them.
In the “System” look at the right pane and double click “DisableCMD” and change its value to 0.

If “DisableCMD” is not present then you have to create a new DWORD value, rename it to DisableCMD and set the value to 2.
Its okay now.

Now if anyone including administrator wants to try to edit in windows Command prompt, he will see the following message,
“The command prompt has been disabled by your administrator.”

Enable/Unblock windows command prompt in Windows by Registry Editor:

If you want to reverse your choice and enable windows command prompt by Registry Editor simply delete the “DisableCMD DWORD” or set its value to 0.

Shortcut Method of enabling windows command prompt:

If you don’t want to take the hassle of editing in registry mode, there is a very simple solution for you. This method works with Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP and may be with windows 10 also, you can better try. If it doesn’t work with windows 10
Follow those simple steps:

Type “windows key+R” to open run
Simply copy the following command and hit ENTER.
REG add HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System /v DisableCMD /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Your windows command prompt is now enabled. If it is still disabled then restart your computer.

Lenses for Canon EOS 600D:

Any EF/EF-S lenses will work with this gear. If you buy a camera package then you may have to buy Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II or Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM known as kit lens. Technical info/Ease of use:

In appearance Canon 600D is almost same as EOS 550D. You can also call 600D as a slight upgrade version of Canon EOS 550D. Canon 600D is slightly larger than 550D. The new 600D has some creative filters and some different aspect ratios but the main identical difference between the two is the fully articulated flip out screen which is very useful for low and high angle photography.

Camera body:

Canon 600D is slightly heavier than 550D and the build quality is almost same. 600D weights about 570g when the battery is inserted and the measurement is 13cm wide, 10cm long and about 8cm deep from the viewfinder to the front grip. The mode dial has a texture around its side so it feels easier to grip and turn it around. The video mode is at the last end so you have to turn the mode dial so many times to get it. ISO, power switch and display button is at the top of the body. The manual flash button is close to the lens mount point at the left side (for a right handed person).

Viewfinder and Hand-grip:

Canon 600D comes with a penta-mirror optical viewfinder as 550D with 90% coverage and 0.85x magnification. The viewfinder of 600D is slightly narrow and mildly uncomfortable. Mildly uncomfortable because it is good for people with small hands but it is uncomfortable to people with larger hands.

Live view mode:

Canon Eos 600D offers a live view mode which is very useful for videography. At the top of the LCD screen there is a dedicated button for entering live view mode. In the live view mode this Canon camera delivers the full resolution of the screen with 100% coverage with a frame rate of 30fps. You can change the shutter speed, ISO and aperture settings within the live view mode. Canon also offers two different alignment grids in live view mode which I think is very useful for checking Rule of Thirds while shooting.

Interface and Controls:

The interface is user friendly like 550D. Canon 600D offers continuous fast smooth shooting at the speed of 3.7 fps and has a 9-point AF for sharp images. You can change the autofocus points manually to ensure correct focus for you. 600D has some creative filters so you’ll be able to add effects like Fish Eye, Soft Focus, Toy Camera, Grainy B&W and Miniature. The main LCD screen gives all the shooting information and the 1040k dots high resolution display looks very decent.

LCD Screen:

Canon 600D is the second camera with a full articulated LCD screen after Eos 60D. Some other Canon cameras like Canon EOS 70D, Canon Rebel T5i or Canon EOS 8000D have the flips-out option. This articulated screen with a 1040k dots is the biggest feature of the 600D over its predecessor and is very useful for videographers and very comfortable during low or high angle photography. It is quite impossible to shoot video from high angle without a flips out screen. The screen is fully articulated that’s why the screen is foldable. You can fold it back while not in use. ISO settings and Flash:

6. Use asterisk wildcard for advanced google search:

Sometimes you need to find the middle part of a name or you are trying to remember a song by lyrics because you forgot the whole phrase then you can use this trick.

How to block a website on chrome, Firefox or any web browser?

So, you want to know how to block a website for any web browser. The reasons may vary. Sometime we need to enforce parental control over internet in our computer or we don't want anybody or any user to surf some websites from a specific computer. Follow those steps carefully to block a website in all browser>

Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc OR open "RUN" and command "C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc"(without quotation mark). If your windows located in other drive then substitute the correct drive letter instead of "C".

Double click "host" and open it with notepad. If the program automatically opens with another program then at first open Notepad and the navigate to host by File>Open>C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc>select file type to all>select host.

Navigate to the last line "127.0.0.1 localhost" or "::1 localhost" whichever line to the lowest.

Create a new line by pressing "Enter"

At first type "127.0.0.1" then press space-bar single time and type the website you want to block. If you want to mobile domain for the same website then mention it also. See the image below.

Now press Ctrl+S or save the changes in host file.

If a prompt comes and saying"You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Documents folder instead". To solve this issue, do the following.

Right click on the host file and choose properties>Security>and see all the boxes are marked in for your current user account. This will allow you as an administrator.

There are two methods to fix this problem as far as I know.

Method One:

This method will work if you already have an activation key or KMSpico Key. You need to uninstall the existing key before applying the new one. Open command prompt in admin mode and execute: (slmgr.vbs /dlv) without bracket before uninstalling the existing key.
You will find following description, note the description:

Description: Windows(R) Operating System, VOLUME_KMS_WS12_R2 channel

Next: Apply: slmgr.vbs /upk to uninstall the existing KMS key:

With the old key uninstalled, apply the following:

slmgr.vbs /ipk <NewKMSProductKey>

Method Two:

This one is the easiest method I think. Probably you are familiar with torrent websites. If so then look for any torrent website( Top 10 Popular torrent sites) and find any updated KMSpico software.

You will need a torrent client installed in your Desktop computer or laptop. If you don't have any then you may download utorrent, Vuze Bittorrent Client or any other torrent client. Install and run the software and download the torrent file.

Steps:

Turn off Windows Defender for a while.
Download the KMSpico software.
Unzip the RAR file.
Look for "KMSpico Install" folder
Run the .exe file.
Complete the installation process.
Open KMSpico from start menu.
Hit the red "Push" Button.
Activation process will start shortly and complete within 15 seconds.
All done.

Windows 10 is activated now.

Rule of Thirds: Photo Composition Rules

In another article I have talked about some photography rules, and I told you that I will explain some rules later. Here is one of the most important rule of photography. In my previous article (Sunny 16 Rule: Photography) I told you there is no written rules that you must have to follow to shoot photos. But you have to have sound knowledge about those rules to become a professional photographer. Then you can break any rule. Great photographers know when to break the rules to take unique and quality pictures. This is a must know rule of photography for beginners.

Rule of thirds:

It is the first and most important rule to learn when it comes to composition. This basic rule is very simple and worth learning. Have you ever played Tic TAC Toe? Can you remember the board? The rule of thirds grid is almost the same. Here.

Here in this rectangular grid there are two horizontal lines and two vertical lines. According to rule of thirds the four intersection points that divide the frame into thirds horizontally and vertically or along those lines, are the most effective places to position objects while shooting photos. While shooting portrait photos it is very important to care rule of thirds and of course better lenses produce better image quality.

Four intersection points are:

Top left third
2. Top right third
3. Bottom left third
4. Bottom right third

According to the rule of thirds, the most powerful points in the composition are the areas where the lines intersect. The horizon of the picture should be positioned on or near the line of the third from the top or a third from the bottom of the picture. If there are any Vertical objects like trees or electricity post then those should be placed on or near the lines a third from the left or right of the picture. Most of the DSLR cameras and digital Compact cameras have the built in option to view grid lines while shooting. I know it’s not comfortable with a grid to shoot photos. But you should continue practice it for four or five weeks and then turn off the grid lines. You will never forget the rule. Your subconscious mind will always remember the rule for you.

In the picture we can see the place of the boat is an intersecting point. That makes the view stunning. And also there is enough space for the boat to move forward. Lets see another one:

Here the line of the building roof is horizontal. That's why i kept the roof line as the horizon and the main object the network tower is vertical so i kept it in the thirds position. This picture was taken in low light condition. There are some tips for you to take stunning images in Low Light Photography.

In both picture we see the subjects are in the center in position. Those aren’t bad photos at all but it could have been better if the photographer applied the rule of thirds. See the pictures below:

Every SLR and Compact camera has the grid view mode settings. Use this to get the perfect composition.

While shooting Landscape photos use horizontal grid for the pond, lake, and horizon or if you find any horizontal line follow the line. (See the picture of Mobile Network Tower. Roof of building appears as a horizontal line.)

Use horizontal grid while object appears as horizontal and follow vertical grid line while object appears like vertical object. (Example, horizontal line for lake or pond and vertical grid lines like light post, trees or electric post.)
While shooting portrait photos try to place people’s eyes in top two horizontal intersections.

Break the rule to capture unique photos.

SO why breaking the rule of thirds? Sometime while shooting indoor we find less space to move or in some cases we think its better to break the rule of thirds to get correct composition, then it is not necessary to follow the rule. Sometime we see if we keep our object in the middle we get better photos. It actually depends on different situations. Rule of thirds produces better photos in 85% situations.

Why do we think that the rule works?

These four spots are the main spots where your eyes naturally drawn, around the center of the picture. Those spots satisfies our sense of visual proportion, the position of the subject looks well balanced and easy to view. If you follow the rule during wedding photography, family portraits, wildlife photography, fashion photography and landscape photography certainly you will get better result.

Important Note

Don’t think this way that you always have to follow the rules. Let me clear you, this is not exactly a rule but a guideline to help you to understand more about photography. Learning all the simple rules is easy and those will help you to become a professional photographer. Sunny 16 Rule: Photography without light meter.

It is important that what you are shooting but how you are shooting is more important. You have to be little tricky and intelligent when you are shooting photos. You have to think before you click. Imagine how you want this photo and set you camera that match your imagination.

Photography Rules:

There is no written rules about photography. That means you have no restrictions of how you are shooting photos. But to become a pro you should know some photography rules. You don’t have to follow all the rules all time, but those will surely guide you how to take quality photos. Great photographers know when to break all rules to get interesting and unique photos. Some photography rules are:

Rule of Thirds
Sunny 16 Rule
Leading Lines
Fill the Frame
Keep Space
Keep Horizons Straight

I will write about those rules soon but in this article I am going to tell only about Sunny 16 Rule.

To understand sunny 16 rule you have to understand exposure and light metering well.
I am giving you a brief about exposure and light metering.

Proper exposure means correct ISO, aperture and shutter speed. A combination among the three factors. You have to ensure that the image is not going to be underexposed or overexposed. (Wikipedia)

A light meter is a device which can measure current amount of light and can suggest you what your settings should be in present situation so that you can get perfect exposure. In photography, a light meter is often used to determine the proper exposure for a photograph. (Wikipedia)

What is Sunny 16 rule or sunny f/16 rule ?

Sunny 16 rule is a method of estimating correct daylight exposures without a light meter. On a bright sunny day, you should use aperture f16 and shutter speed to the reciprocal of your ISO value.
That means set your aperture to f16 and then if the ISO value is 100 then set shutter speed to 1/100 (most of the camera have 1/125 seconds). Again keeping your aperture to f16, if you change your ISO to 200 then change shutter speed to 1/200 seconds.

What to do if it is not a sunny day

Weather condition may change any time. So what to do? Don’t worry. There is a solution for that problem as well.

***All you need to do is to keep your shutter speed and ISO level constant and simply change aperture to different lighting condition.

Low Light photography Tips

Is Photography is about capturing light that emits from different objects? So what happens when the light is insufficient? Low light photography is a type of photography what every photographer must have to deal with. This kind of photography is a bit tricky and photographer needs to know some extra techniques to get it perfect.

Sometime we avoid taking photos during dusk or low light. Photo under low light can be more precious than any other time if it is taken by a good photographer. When we shoot in the evening, during time of wedding photography or when we shoot photos of landscape in the dusk it opens a door of opportunity for us to take some creative shots.

Photography tips to learn photography in low light conditions:

Use wide aperture lenses:

Every lens has a hole inside that passes light through the lens. The wider the hole is, the more light is coming through the lens. And of course keep in mind that larger the opening = the lower the f-stop number. Lenses like Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM has a wider aperture. And f/2.8 lens is slower than an f/1.2 lens. In tight budget we can go for a 50mm 1.8 Lens.

>>If you use wider aperture lens in low light you can set you aperture maximum. Thus more light will come and you will be able to take photos in low light.

Use Lenses with Image Stabilization or VR Technology:

If your Lens support image stabilization use it. Rule of thumb says if you want sharp pictures the shutter speed should not be slower than same fraction as your focal length (according to lens)– like, if you’re using a 50mm lens, set your shutter speed to 1/50 second. So if your lens supports image stabilization you can then slower shutter value two or three steps.

>>It will prevent you from taking blurry photos.

Use Higher ISO:

I don't suggest you to higher the ISO all the time but in some cases when you are in a hurry you can do this. Normally I will not suggest you to use more than 400, but in some critical situations you can higher the number, but keep in mind to shoot photos at RAW mode because when you use higher ISO the grainier the picture is and if you shoot RAW there will be chance to edit it in post –processing mode.
>>Photos will be brighter.
>>You can choose higher shutter speed if you increase ISO then it you can avoid taking blurry photos.
>> Remember grainier images is better than blurry images.

Use a camera tripod:

As I mentioned earlier I don’t prefer higher ISO. So what is the option? If we don’t use higher ISO then we must have to use slower shutter speed. And then we may get blurrier photos. How can we get rid of this situation? The solution is use a Tripod.

>>We can avoid blurry photos.
>>In some situation tripod is a must. Such as while we shoot light trail images, motion in water. (I will explain it in another article soon.)

Use Manual Focus:

When light is low it is harder for lens to find specific focus you need. This time you try to focus something and your camera keeps shifting its focus without landing on a clear result. There are two option; you can lighten up your scene or you can use manual focus to find out the exact focus.

>> According to your lens focal length range you can choose any point and can take a clear shot.

Things you must understand for taking good shots at low light

*** Learn Proper Exposure:

One of the first things a photographer must learn is the exposure triangle: ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed. You must know this if you want to take quality photos. Proper exposure means correct ISO, aperture and shutter speed. A combination among the three factors. You have to ensure that the image is not going to be underexposed or overexposed. If you set higher shutter speed number then the picture may get darker or if you set ISO 6400 the picture may be grainier. So you have to keep the balance. And exposure is exactly that.

*** Shoot In RAW:

Though RAW file is huge in size, it offers a great flexibility while editing. Most low light photos need to be post-processed in some way so shoot in RAW for best results so that you can edit it later.

*** Photography Tips: If you don’t understand camera's Manual setting well go for AUTO mode or Creative Auto mode in some cameras. It is not a great idea but wiser than missing pictures of your precious moment that you need badly. Because time stops for none.

Career oriented education emphasized in the matter of building a career according to one’s choice. When a student studies social science he should build his career in that section. Suppose a student’s major is Anthropology. It is a subject inside social science faculty. He can take various training to ease his path of career to get not only Anthropology related jobs but also other jobs in Social Science sector. But he shouldn’t choose a bank sector job or data entry job. Because he will not be able to go so far. Because his certificate will not support his career goal after a certain time. For example someone has a master’s degree in Anthropology and someone has a degree in Bank Management. They both get job in the same bank as a Management trainee officer. After five or ten years or in the time of promotion the person with the Bank Management degree will surely get preference.

Vocational education vs. career oriented education:

Vocational education is education within vocational schools that prepares people for a specific trade. It directly develops expertise in techniques related to technology, skill and scientific technique to span all aspects of the trade. (Wikipedia).
On the other hand Career oriented education means something broad something different than vocational education and something more. Career oriented education explains how a person learnt for all his life and if he is implementing his learning through his career. The books he read, the major and group he studied will come less useful if his job sector is totally different.

How the process is going in many countries of 3rd world:

After a baby is born his or her parents think that their baby will be a doctor or Engineer. And after his/her compilation of secondary school and higher secondary school he gets admitted in a university. He doesn’t get his preferable subject most of the time. After compilation of his Honors degree usually he completes his masters in the same subject. Sometimes a very few of the students get another degree to build up his career.

Case Study in Bangladesh:

There are 34 Public University in Bangladesh and there are more than 65 Private Universities. All public University take admission test for the honor’s program. Some students get their preferable subject sometimes and some are not. After getting honors and master’s degree a student usually gets himself ready for the job sector. Main job sectors are civil service jobs, bank jobs, non-governmental organizations and other private sector jobs. Sometime a student tries for a job in all sectors. He fails to maintain his destiny. He tries to get a job of any kind. Sometimes a job is a crying need. That’s why he can’t set his mind and smoothly build up his career. This is one of the main obstacles of building up career.

Ignoring Special Education and Inclusive education:

Most of the universities have different types of quota systems for handicapped students. But what happens after finishing ones education. Most of the time they don’t get better job. This system need to be changed. Govt. or other responsible authorities should take it very seriously.

Solutions and Career guidance:

Teachers and parents should guide students all time. They can guide them; tell them ideas about job selection, career goals. In some cases group study, communication, technical awareness can help a lot.

• Career oriented training helps a lot getting better jobs.
• Group communications helps to find out alternatives way of thinking and getting job news.
• Building technical awareness such as finding scholarships, attending seminars and other ways to boost up physiological energy to move forward.

• Further education like MPhil and PhD and should go forward to other educational research.
• Increasing social awareness and career opportunities.
• Changing education policy in an effective way.
• Face different career tests to boost up potentiality.
• Standard of Education needs to be improved.

Conclusion:

Building career is a lifetime process. This process ends while our life ends. To lead a successful professional life we have to care about our goals.
