ROAD TRIP

2019-09-11T13:10:00.000-07:00

Road trip from Phoenix to Payson to Show Low then through Springerville to Alpine down through Hannigan Meadows to Morenci and Clifton over to Safford them back to Phoenix all-in-one day total of 574 miles give or take a few, while taking pictures along the way. I was hoping to see some monsoon storms because we haven't had any in Phoenix, well maybe a few but not much.

Left home at 6:00 in the morning The Sun is just barely coming up, good sign with clouds around.

Everywhere I went it seems like I was just ahead of the clouds.

The wildflowers out in some of the meadows looked like they were covered with yellow carpet.

Just had to stop and get a picture the horses and the old corral.

My co-pilot takes all the pictures why we're are moving, wait a minute I don't have a copilot?

What a beautiful drive 1st time I've ever done it.

Pictures just doesn't do it Justice. Lots of turns I think they're 360 of them and a few are switch backs.

But still no rain.

Morenci mine

I can't believe how big the mine is and It feels like you drive right through the center of it.

Clouds are getting darker but no rain yet!

yep it's rain

Finally, when it's too dark to take pictures it starts raining from Globe to l 10

Boring Boron, California

2018-09-09T18:41:00.001-07:00

Boring Boron, California

There’s not much to do in Boron so I decided to walk the main drag and take pictures of anything that was interesting. I walked a total of 3 miles 1-1/2 miles each side of the street. I took 138 pictures, here are some of the best ones.

This is a top-secret military outpost on top of the mountain, lot of people in town work there but nobody can say what they do or they will have to kill you!

Sheryl’s Aunt used to work at the pharmacy back in the Day, but it is now Closed and has been for many years.

DO NOT EAT ICE CREAM CONE from this store!

I repeat DO NOT EAT ICE CREAM COME from this store!

When he Scoops the ice cream for your ice cream cone, he licks the scoop and puts back in the water! This came from a reliable source.

There may be hope for Boron yet, they now have a Family Dollar.

A big Joshua Tree, that’s pretty much the only natural Vegetation around.

Even though Boron is boring there’s no places to rent... even the Hotels are full of people that work at the Military base and Borax mine

I think they’re working on the new skatepark or maybe its just a bad side walk but it will work.

One of the old mine trucks from Borax.

I think this is the best year ever!

I hear they have good tacos on Tuesday

That’s one side of town now starting back the other way

You don’t see very many cabooses anymore they use this one when they move cars in and out of the mine.

You ever wondered what they look like in side.

Well that’s my walk about from Boring Boron.

Hope you enjoyed it and now I know you just can’t wait to go to Boring Boron!

My last hike of 2016

2017-04-01T10:42:00.000-07:00

Went hiking Dec. 31,2016 in McDowell Mountain Preserve

Bell pass to Tom's thumb.

It was cold wet foggy morning.

Not a very good day for picture

but I was hoping to get above the fog so I could take some pictures of the fog down in the valley.

But that did not happen the fog never lifted all morning and the higher I went the thicker it got.

When I got to the back side of the McDowell Mountain the fog was lifting a little but still not very good condition of pictures.

Just try to make the best of the situation you're handed.

The best part of the whole trip was this hart-shaped Rock alongside the trail.

Maybe next time I will get some good pictures, but it was a fun trip anyway.

IN SEARCH OF AGUA FRIA INDIAN RUINS

2016-02-14T21:32:00.000-07:00

Early Sunday morning in search for Indian ruins and maybe some petroglyph.

Got my quad all loaded ready to go searching.

A look back,

Heading toward Perry Mesa.

You know me I always got to stop and take pictures of corral

and windmills.

Still some standing water.

In rock piles like this is where you will find petroglyph.

What's left of and old abandoned mining camp.

I think black and white looks better

Some of the roads a little rough.

You see it

My first one

When you really start looking there everywhere.

Were they board?

This is what you have to walk through to find them.

Some of them go into such detail and others make stick figures.

Here's the stick figure.

Lizards and snakes??? What do you think? Your guess is as good as mine.

Rock remains of there village.

This is the view from there village. They lived on the edge.

Talk about living on the edge!

Broken pottery is everywhere.

This is the end of my adventure, hope you enjoyed it
57 miles on the quad and 5 mile hike.

SUNDAY 1/31/2016 short 4.5 mile hike

I just love stuff like this.

Look like he is applauding?

There's a little bit of color in the desert, can't wait until end of next month.

This

or the opposite of that.

Waiting

THE

SUN
