GeniuX ® Photo EFX is an Adobe Photoshop compatible plug-in and also a standalone program that lets you perform photo editing and digital painting tasks. You can load photos from your digital camera (including RAW data). Then you can modify your photos with enhancement tools and special effects - - there are almost 80 filters with more than 300 settings and over 30 papers effects. You can use different effects on the same photo, play around and combine effects. Finally you can share your output via email, or print a poster.

AKVIS ArtSuite 6.6 is an updated version of a Photoshop compatible plug-in that comprises a collection of effects and frames (edge effects) for pictures. These effects and the frames can be customized and can be provided a personalized touch. AKVIS ArtSuite 6.6 includes a new theme frame pack - the Christmas Pack. These frames can only be used within the AKVIS ArtSuite standalone program, and not the plug-in. The standalone program is included as part of the plug-in. In addition, AKVIS provides an additional free pack with 30 frames, and also Wedding and Travel packs that include 50 frames each.

AKVIS NatureArt is an Adobe Photoshop compatible plug-in that contains 6 nature-specidic visual effects. With these effects, you can create natural phenomena on your pictures. Other than applying the effect on the pictures you can apply the effects directly on the blank background, for example convert a blank background into a sea view, sun, lightning bolt, rain, and snow. Effects can be saved as presets for future use.

Retoucher is a Photoshop compatible plug-in that removes dust, scratches, stains, etc from old damaged photos. It also lets you remove date stamps that some cameras add to photographs. In addition, it also reconstructs missing parts of a photo using the information of the surrounding areas. Retoucher works automatically, you only need to indicate areas to be restored, and the rest of the process is taken care by the plug-in. AKVIS, creator of various Adobe Photoshop plug-ins has announced a holiday season contest -- in this conversation Katerina Kharina of AKVIS tells us more.

Geetesh: Tell us more about the various contests you have launched.

Katerina: This time, we have launched three contests:

New Year Collage -- the task consists in creating a New Year photo collage using any AKVIS programs and the provided photos, available on the contest page. You can also add elements from your images, but the provided photos should be the basis for the photo collage.
Four Seasons -- turn summer to winter, winter to autumn! Everything is possible with AKVIS software! Take one of the provided photos, and use one or several AKVIS programs (+ any other tools) and try to change the season on a photo. You should use the given photos.
Greet Santa Claus! -- in this contest you should disguise yourself as Santa Claus or even as his reindeer. The main condition is to use AKVIS programs. Use your photos, or photos of your relatives, friends (if they agree).

Geetesh: How well do AKVIS products work in the contest workflows?

Katerina: A participant should use at least one of our software, or more, even all our programs. He or she can also use tools from other developers, for example, Photoshop.
