How to configure IMAP email account

In this tutorial we are going to show you how to configure your Outlook 2010 email client with your existing mail account using the IMAP incoming mail protocol.

This tutorial assumes that you have already downloaded and started your Outlook 2010 email client,

Let's begin by adding a new email account in Outlook 2010. In order to do that you will need to access the menu File → Add Account.

You will then be presented with the "Auto Account Setup" window where you should proceed with the Email Account configuration options.

The required fields here are Your Name, E-mail Address, Password and of course the Retype Password field where you should repeat the password so the email client can ensure that it is the same.

Now that you have set these it is time to configure the mail server settings. In order to do that you will need to click on the "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" option and then to press the Next button.

You will then be presented with the Choose Server window where you should choose the first option - Internet E-mail and then once again click the Next button.

The Internet E-mail Settings window will appear and there you will need to configure the provided sections of options.

The first section called User Information is relatively simple as you will need to fill only Your Name and your E-mail Address.

The second section called Server Information is the one which will require some additional configuration. This section contains the following fields:

Account type - Since we are configuring the mail client for the IMAP protocol you will need to choose that protocol from the Drop-down list.
Incoming mail server - Here you should input the hostname of your mail server.

Hostname

It is relatively simple - the hostname is mail.yourdomain.com where the substitution yourdomain.com should be replaced with your actual domain name. If your domain is for example mybiz123.info the hostname you will need to use is mail.mybiz123.info.

Outgoing mail server (SMTP) - The value is the same as your Incoming mail server

The last section is called Logon Information and there you will need to simply input the username and the password for your email account.

Note

The username should be your actual email address. Please make sure that it contains @yourdomain.com at the end so for example your domain is mybiz123.net the username can be john@mybiz123.net.

Once you are done with this section please locate and click on the More Settings button so you can proceed further with the configuration.

The button will prompt you with a small window containing some additional settings. Please click on the "Outgoing Server Tab" and make sure that you will select the following options there:

My ongoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
Use settings as my incoming mail server

Next please click on the Advanced tab.

There you will need to configure the ports for your incoming and outgoing server. The port for the Incoming Server (IMAP) is 143 and the port for the Outgoing Server (SMTP) is 25. Once you are done with these please click on the Ok button located at the bottom of that window.

Finally please click the Next button so the email account in your Outlook email client can be created.

Congratulations! You have configured your email account with the IMAP protocol for incoming emails.

If you or your business is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you’ll want to dedicate time and resources to fully comprehend and adhere to its requirements. Google lost a whopping $57 million thanks to this in 2019. These policies may apply differently to various web development projects.

5. Try to Hack Yourself

The last box you need to tick on this web security checklist is to try to hack your own project. Since this is what attackers and their bots aim to do, the best way to stay ahead of them is to try it first. How to Change your Blogger/Blogspot URL Address? Follow

If you did mistake by selecting the wrong username for your blogger blog OR you may not like your current Blogspot URL address, and you want to change your Blogspot URL address ( from example.blogspot.com to somethingelse.blogspot.com), then follow below steps.

First off go to your blogger dashboard.
Click on setting option from the left side menu, then select the basic option.
Now click on edit option and enter your new blog URL Address.

You should note that by changing URL address may cause many problems if you blog is already getting traffics from social media or search engine like Google and Bing. For example, let’s say you have shared your blog post on Facebook and you’re getting daily few clicks from it. Now if you change your blog URL address to something else then that visitors will see 404 Error page, means page not found. Same thing applies if you’re getting traffic from Google or Bing search results.

There is two solution about that.

Remember that, you need to do these things only if your blog is getting tons of traffic, so if your blog is new then feel free to skip all things, because you’re getting very less or no traffic at all. So there is no need to redirect your visitors from old blog to new one.

If you’ve blog example.blogspot.com and you want to use different URL address, then buy a custom domain name for your blog(like goyllo.com), which will do proper 301 redirection automatically from example.blogspot.com to your www.domain.com. It will do redirection at nested level like from example.blogspot.com/2017/06/some-post.html to www.example.com/2017/06/some-post.html
Use meta refresh tag in your old.blogspot.com template so that it will redirect your all visitors from old.blogspot.com to new.blogspot.com. If you can’t create a new blog with old username, even after changing its username, then use import/export functionality and let your old blog as it is. This solution does not do proper 301 redirection. It means your old.blogspot.com/2017/06/some-post.html and all other pages will redirect only to your new.blogspot.com It does not support nested level redirection because it is client side solution and works on the browser side.

Well, we can not be dogmatic as to what specific languages you must know but there are some that are almost a must. HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT and PHP; these should atleast be in your tool box for you are almost never running away from web development whether you're are Computer Scientists, Engineer or IT personnel.

Then there is C++, Java, python,C# and others like Ruby, kotlin and the like, these should also be in your tool box for there is a vast field of application for them.

There are many other languages but what dictates the language you need is the project you are working on. The technologies follow like wise based on the projects.

Frameworks are one of the important tools there is ,but they are not a language but a technology, an easy way to implement certain functionality . And so its almost important you not only learn but understand the language they are built from.

It can be overwhelming to mention all the languages, technologies and all , much more to think of learning them each and everyone of them. Do not despair, all you need is to pick up one language. Learn and understand it . The ideas apply to almost all of them. You will notice that mostly it's just the syntax and grammer that differs but the principle is the same.

For a start , HTML, CSS ,JAVASCRIPT then PHP in that order will be a great start. For those who have done pascal, C++ and Java, you will find JavaScript and PHP to be easy and you will love them.

When registering users in a database table, you want to make sure that each user's email address or username is unique. In a previous tutorial, we did this using plain PHP where the user submits the form and this check is performed.

In this tutorial, we'll do it in a more efficient and fun way (using JQuery and Ajax,) without submitting the form or reloading the page.

The user visits the register page, enters their username, email and password. When the cursor leaves the username field (an event referred to in JavaScript as onblur, a username check is done in the background through an ajax call to the server without the user even clicking the submit button. If a user with the provided username already exists in the database, a validation message with appropriate styling is displayed right away.

The first chunk of code is that part that is executed when the cursor leaves the username field of the input form. The second chunk is executed when the cursor leaves the email field and the last part of the code makes sure there is no error in the form and then submits the data to the server when the register button is clicked

WHY WE NEED TO CHANGE THE PORT NUMBER ?

I have written this article because of the demand. We need to change the port number of Apache as the port number of Apache(WAMP) and some other Web Server conflicts with other.
Usually it conflicts with SKYPE Or IIS. Most of the times, SKYPE,IIS and Apache have the same port number.
Server installed first assigned port number 8080 so other Server need to assign different port.

CHANGE THE PORT NUMBER OF APACHE IN WAMP/XAMPP SERVER.

Step 1. Go to the WAMP/XAMPP -> Apache -> httpd.conf(click on this to open).

Step 2. Press the keys CTRL+F find 80. You will find 80 at three place of the file convert that to 40 or whatever you want and save the file.

Step 3.Restart the server and access the localhost as http/localhost:port_number(http/localhost:40).

CHANGE THE PORT NUMBER IN SKYPE

Go to the technical settings of SKYPE and disable or uncheck “listen to port 80”. WAMP Server will start working.

1. Phishing

One of the most insidious techniques used today is Phishing.It’s hard to find the person that doesn’t know what phishing is. However a lot of users are still getting tricked by hackers on a daily basis.

5. Denial of Service (DoS\DDoS)

DDOS stands for Distributed Denial of Service. DDOS attack is a way to make a certain server unavailable or, in other words, a way to crash the server.

To interrupt or crash the server a hackers would use bots. Those bots soul purpose is to send requests to the website, a lot of requests. As a result, a server unable to process all of the received requests will simply crash. The most hazardous thing about this technique is that a hacker can crash the server in a relatively small amount of time

6. DNS spoofing

This malware is also known as DNS cache poisoning. It engages that old cache data you might have forgotten about.
Vulnerabilities in the domain name system allow hackers to redirect traffic from your website to a malicious one. Moreover, hackers can program this attack so the infected DNS server will infect another DNS and so on.

7. SQL injection

If your website has vulnerabilities in its SQL database or libraries, hackers can get access to your confidential information by deceiving the system.So there is no surprise that SQL injections can also be a simple tool. But this simple tool can allow a hacker to access vital information of your website.

8. Keylogger injection

The Keylogger that very simple and dangerous malicious code.
The malware records keystrokes , captures all of the user’s actions on the keyboard, and to send all that has been recorded to the hackern ; it also installs a malicious script that produces an in-browser cryptocurrency miner.
If a hacker succeeds in obtaining data, then the result of the hacking will be stolen admin credentials that can allow hackers to easily log into your website

9. Non-targeted website hack

In most cases, hackers don’t target a specific website. They are more interested in massive hacking.
It is easy to suffer from a non-targeted attack – you just need to overlook any CMS, plugin or template vulnerability. Any gap is a chance to get into the hacker’s sight and become a victim during the next attack.
Hackers can find websites with similar weaknesses easily. They can always use Google’s Hacking Database to receive a list of vulnerable websites that have the same properties. For example, hackers can find all indexed websites that have a vulnerable plugin installed. Or websites with unhidden catalogues.

10. Brute force

A Brute Force Attack is the simple method to gain access to a website. It tries various combinations of the passwords again and again until it gets in. This repetitive action is like an army attacking a fort.

Conclusion

It is hard for website owners to believe that anyone can find and hack a vulnerable website in literally minutes without any specific instruments. Everything a hacker needs is to find the desired criteria in Google’s Hacking Database and run a search with those parameters. Then, depending on the criteria a hacker chose, he can take the needed actions to hack a website. Experienced hackers will spend less than two minutes on it. And they will spend even less time if the attack is automated.

What is Bitcoin? How does it work?

Bitcoin has been all over the news lately. But because it’s an entirely digital currency and doesn’t necessarily correspond to any existing formal currency, it’s not easy to understand for newcomers.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a digital currency. It enables people to send and receive money across the Internet without a third party such as a bank. Bitcoin doesn’t have a corresponding physical element e.g. paper bills or coins. That being said, it isn’t simply an assigned value of money stored in a digital account. A global peer-to-peer network provides the value and verification of individual Bitcoins. This is similar to how torrent websites work. Except instead of transferring files from one place to another, the Bitcoin network generates and verifies blocks of information that are expressed in the form of a proprietary currency.

How does it work?

As a new Bitcoin user the first thing you have to do is install a Bitcoin wallet on your computer or mobile phone. It will generate your first Bitcoin address and you can create more whenever you need to. You can disclose your addresses to people you wish to pay or vice versa. This works similar to email, except that Bitcoin address should only be used once.

Balances – Block chain

The block chain is a shared public ledger on which the entire Bitcoin network relies. All confirmed transactions are included in the block chain. This way, Bitcoin wallets can calculate their spendable balance and new transactions can be verified to be spending Bitcoins that are actually owned by the spender. The integrity and the chronological order of the block chain are enforced with cryptography. (The branch of mathematics that enables the creation of mathematical proofs that provide high levels of security.)

Transactions – Private keys

A transaction is a transfer of value between Bitcoin wallets that gets included in the block chain. Bitcoin wallets keep a secret piece of data called a ‘private key’ or ‘seed’, which is used to sign transactions, providing a mathematical proof that they have come from the owner of the wallet. The signature (a mathematical mechanism that allows someone to prove ownership) also prevents the transaction from being altered by anybody once it has been issued. All transactions are broadcast between users and usually begin to be confirmed by the network in the following 10 minutes, through a process called ‘mining’.

Processing – Mining

Mining is a distributed consensus system that is used to confirm waiting transactions by including them in the block chain. It enforces a chronological order in the block chain, protects the neutrality of the network, and allows different computers to agree on the state of the system. In order to be confirmed, transactions must be packed in a ‘block’ (a record in the block chain that contains and confirms many waiting transactions) that fits very strict cryptographic rules that will be verified by the network. These rules prevent previous blocks from being modified because doing so would invalidate all following blocks. Mining also creates the equivalent of a competitive lottery that prevents any individual from easily adding new blocks consecutively in the block chain. This way, no individuals can control what is included in the block chain or replace parts of the block chain to roll back their own spends.

How are Bitcoins spent?

Imagine you are buying a loaf of bread from a supermarket with a debit card. The transaction has three elements; the card, corresponding to the bank account and the money, the bank itself that verifies the transaction and the transfer of money, and the store that accepts the money from the bank and finalizes the sale. A Bitcoin transaction has, broadly speaking, the same three components.

Each Bitcoin user stores the data that represents his or her amount of coins in a program called a wallet, consisting of a custom password and a connection to the Bitcoin system. The user sends a transaction request to another user, buying or selling, and both users agree. The peer-to-peer Bitcoin system verifies the transaction via the global network, transferring the value from one user to the next and inserting cryptographic checks and verification at many levels. There is no centralized bank or credit system: the peer-to-peer network completed the encrypted transaction with the help of Bitcoin miners.

How To Prevent SQL Injection With PHP

SQL injection is a technique, used to attack data-driven applications. Using this method, hackers will try to execute their SQL statements within your application and access your database data.

Here is an example SQL injection. Let's consider you have a login form with two fields - email (text field) and password (password field). Upon login, you will build and execute a similar query:

You can see that the query is searching for a user in `users`table, which matches the email and password posted via the login form. However, since both email and password are not properly handled, an attacker can modify the query. Assume that they enter:

Email: myemail@domain.com
Password: mypassword

The constructed query will be:

SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE `email` = 'myemail@domain.com' AND `password` = 'mypassword';

Which seems to be correct. However, if the attacker uses:

Email: myemail@domain.com
Password: mypassword'; DROP TABLE 'users

the query will become:

SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE `email` = 'myemail@domain.com' AND `password` = 'mypassword'; DROP TABLE 'users';

And of course, you do not want people to execute such queries over your database.

To protect your PHP application from being abused via such SQL injections, you should correctly set all SQL queries that are being run. With older versions of PHP (>= 4.3.0, 5) you would do that with mysql_real_escape_string(). So above query would look like this:

This is how the SQL injection protected query looks like now:

SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE `email` = 'myemail@domain.com' AND `password` = 'mypassword\'; DROP TABLE \'users'

You can see that the data being passed via $_POST is now escaped and DROP TABLE query will not be executed separately, but will be considered as a part of the password string.

With the latest versions of PHP you can now use PDO and prepared queries. Here is an example:

$stmt->bindValue(':email', $_POST["email"]);

$stmt->bindValue(':password', $_POST["password"]);

$stmt->execute();

The key function here is prepare(). It secures the SQL query and protects it from SQL injections.

There are other ways to verify that data passed via SQL queries is valid and not abused. For example, if you expect an integer to be passed, you may use intval() to convert the inputted data into an integer.

"SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE `age` = '".intval($_POST["age"])."'";

Or if you expect an email address, you can use email validation to guarantee that $_POST["email"] is a valid email address. Take a look at our PHP Validation And Verification tutorial for different string validations.

SQL injection is one of the top website vulnerabilities, so you should be very careful when using user inputted data to construct SQL queries.

Create .htaccess file in your public_html folder if not exists. Add following conditions in it to redirect from http to https.

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]

If Apache version is below 2 use this

Note: The following article contains my own bullet-points and conclusions from the book “Five Secrets you must discover before you die”. I recommend you read the book if you enjoyed this article. The lessons you must learn in life are:

Be true to yourself
Leave no regrets (risk)
Become love
Live the moment
Give more than you take

I’ll go over each lesson and elaborate it. Also, in the conclusion I’ll show you how to put these lessons into practice.

##1. Be true to yourself

Ask everyday if you’re living life at its fullest.
Am I following my heart right now?
Does this task, job, relationship, matter to me? If no, take actions to change it.

##2. Leave no regrets (risk)

You have a choice: Live in fear or focus on what you want and how to achieve it.
Risk and regret are tied together.
Because of the fear of rejection, failure, or uncertainty we die with our dreams unfulfilled, and our stories untold.
Risk is a major contributor to greater fulfilment.
Choose the path which will make the best story.

##3. Become love

There’s a fight going on between two wolves inside us: Evil wolf: anger, envy, greed, superiority, regret, fear, empty excuses. Good wolf: peace, love, hope, kindness, humility. Which wolf wins? The one you choose to feed.
Act with love towards the closest to you. Make loving relationships. A Mercedes won’t come to visit you in hospital.
Your checkbook is not your success — The people you meet and influence in your life will be your success.

##4. Live the moment

When you are young, 60 years seems like an eternity. But after you have lived them, they are but a moment.
Don’t focus on the past or future; experience each moment.
Judge your lifeless and enjoy it more.
In order to live fully, you must banish the word “boring” from your dictionary.
Live in the present; it’s the only moment in which we have any power.

##5. Give more than you take

Tasks of human life: to lose ourselves and to find ourselves.
Losing ourselves is about seeing that we are connected to something much larger, something that had a life before us (God, Nature). Yet we are significant because we are part of a larger entity.
Finding ourselves is about discovering what we love, how to express ourselves, our own voice, and our calling.
There’s no better way than to dedicate our life to giving and leaving the world a better place than we found it.
If you are unhappy, get busy doing something for someone else. If you concentrate on yourself you will be unhappy, but if you focus on helping others you will find happiness. Happiness comes from serving and loving.
Few will have the greatness to bend history; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of a generation.

##Putting the lessons into practice

Knowing is not the problem, we have to put them into practice as well.
Answers and experimentation: we pay attention and we try things. In the process, we constantly self-connect and refine until we achieve mastery.
Knowing these lessons will not change your life, living them will.
The greatest fear at the end of life was not death but not having lived.
What we fear at the end is great incompleteness — that we did not do what we were born to do.
We must choose to live fully so that we don’t have any regrets at the end.
Try to resist the temptation to judge your life. Rather, ask how I can embrace these secrets more deeply. The judging mind paralyzes us by giving us a false sense of perfection or by giving us a deep sense of inadequacy.

Before continuing this tutorial please refer my previous tutorial on “how to link Google RSS feedburner to website” to improve website traffic. one of the nice way to make visitor to subscribe for blog updates is add RSS email subscription box to our website. Follow simple steps to add email subscription box to your website.

step 1: Login into your Google feeburner account using Google account. Then click on your feed link you created before just like one shown in the below picture.

step 2: Find publicize button in the main menu and select it, then navigate to left sidebar and select Email subscription button.

Find publicize and Email subscription button and select it.

step 3: Now click on Activate button at the bottom to activate email subscription service, unless it is activated already.

Step 4: Now copy the Subscription Form Code found in the page and paste the code in the sidebar widget of the blog or wordpress.
