Just home from the radio station 92.3fm Saturday Morning Show with John Cuda. We had a lovely lady come in from the Mareeba Heritage Centre for an interview. Mary is a walking history book, she guides people on tours throughout the Centre daily. Mary came to tell us about the opening of the Tobacco Display, this has been in the making since 2007.
On Saturday the 21st,January,2012 Farmers' are being invited to come and see the display plus share their stories; this will add more to the already awesome display.
The Tobacco Display officially opens to the public at 2.00pm Thursday 26th January,2012 - Australia Day.
This Heritage Centre is a must visit on your list, local or traveller.
Heritage is something of value that has been passed down from generation to generation.

What an exciting day we have had at 92.3fm Radio4TVR. People called in and said "Merry Christmas" to people across the Tablelands, even a family from Western Australia came in with their relative and participated, to see the joy and excitement on their faces when they heard themselves "on air" is an encouraging thing to be involved in, and isn't that what community radio is about, giving everyday folks the opportunity to be involved in their community through the media and in this case, the local Christian community radio station, and there could well be some reporters or D.J.'S in training-God is so Good He continues to send encouragement in so many ways.

Merry Christmas everyone. I have placed the song Little Drummer Boy on my blog, I hope you like this song, it is one of my favorites at Christmas time, it reminds me that it doesn't matter if we have a lot or not much at all, it is about our attitude toward Jesus Christ that is what matters.
The little drummer boy had the right attitude, he used what he had in his hand and the ability he had been given by the very person he was about to worship so he played the best he could for Jesus the King so as to honor Him.
What you have may seem unimportant to many but used with the right attitude is all that matters to Jesus and in this way you honor Him and help yourself spiritually (your relationship with Him), therefore mentally and physically also- and all who come in contact with you will find someone happy to be around and this leads others to have a happy and blessed Christmas.

Thankyou to Atherton Tablelanders and people from other areas, Saturday night was awesome. The working together of people from the local churches in harmony is commented on by many. It is a huge effort on everyone's part to present this annual event as a gift to the Tablelands community as we celebrate what Almighty God has done for us through His Gift.
This year the Christian Leaders built the stage,( with the services of qualified people, who gave their time and expertise as a gift also) as they recognised a need in the area for a stage for many events held each year, this stage will be hired out at reasonable prices to other community groups.
This has been an exciting year on the Tablelands and 2012 is shaping up to be even more exciting, what a wonderful part of the world we live in.
I thank Almighty God for His Gift to all people - His Son Jesus Christ.
If you do not know Him I invite you to read the following scriptures: John 3:16-17 (or watch a video), and if you do know Him, I know you will be encouraged once again when you read them.

All in a Day - Thank you Lord

My day sometimes just gains momentum as the minutes tick by, I know some of you reading this can easily relate to a day like this. Up early (Thank you Lord for a new day and all the opportunities you have planned for us today.) do the washing, feed the cat and the fish, morning prayer with my husband,then we travel to Mareeba to the radio station to help with the Saturday Morning Show and prepare for the A.G.M tomorrow ( secretary is away working -we are all volunteers), haircut, then around the block to the Mareeba Men's Shed Open Day (some great displays) more C.S.A's for radio.
(Thank you Lord for the diversity of people's talents and their willingness to share them with the community.) drive home,wash work vehicle and the car, bring in washing, ah! will just enjoy a cuppa -
Just then my husband gets called out to an emergency (traffic controller) race around and make some lunch for him to take, Thank you Lord for the sun to dry those work clothes.

Friends call in on their way back to Melbourne, they decided to leave a week early, Today! Thank you Lord for friends and that is one less appointment for next week.
A storm coming our way, better turn the computer off (just have to check and send the emails later), Thank you Lord for the promise of rain for our farmers, still getting paperwork etc. ready for the A.G.M. Start to prepare dinner, thank you Lord for gas to cook with.

The phone must be set on automatic today, just seems to keep ringing ( thought I had pulled the cord out during the storm - well it didn't get hit with lightning) and every call is important. Thank you Lord for modern communication.
Daughter rings with report on her husband and son, both have stitches in their legs in different accidents and she twisted her ankle, must get off the phone so they go and rest, Lord you are the great healer, I just hand them over to you and ask that they will remember your comfort and healing.
Finally get all the photocopying done, reports in order, phone calls done and now I will have a hot cuppa after the cat is fed -again.
Husband should be home soon and have dinner.
Will do a bit of study( Cert 3 in Disability) till he comes home-
Midnight- dinner - shower
Then after about18 hours
Thank you Lord that you have not left me to handle life on my own, I just want to say Thank you for all your goodness and mercy today, and I ask for a restful night and look forward to worshiping you tomorrow with your people, In Jesus name, Amen.
