這裡有和巴黎迥異的節奏，沒有巴黎的艷麗，也沒有惱人的觀光客。
寧靜低調的自治小社區，空氣中飄蕩著後共產主義的氛圍。
街角的餐館，站在門口抽著煙的廚師攔下路過正要去買長棍麵包的我，大談法國美食說笑。
午後的陽光灑落在 Place du 11 Novembre 廣場的噴泉水花上，還有長椅上享受陽光的老人身上，

奇裝異服的程度雖不勝幾年前參加雪梨的那次 ，
但發生在立於廣場正中央的七月革命紀念塔之下，
醞釀出的氛圍更有革命般的氣息。
「我又繼續前進。聲音越來越吵雜，淹沒了散布謠言的麥克風。『巴士底被佔領了！』我實在不敢相信。為了觀看巴士底的攻防戰，我繼續前進。」
「我想去看看巴士底攻防戰的發展，但是，事情已經完全結束。廣場被佔領了。狂亂的民眾從紀念塔的頂端走上戰壕，丟棄了資料以及對歷史而言相當貴重的書籍。破壞的妖精在這個城市的上空徘徊著；我眺望著成為恐怖標的的巴士底...。」
