Slovenia-based photographer Matej Peljhan recently teamed up with a 12-year-named Luka who suffers from muscular dystrophy, to create a wildly imaginative series of photos depicting the boy doing things he is simply unable to do because of his degenerative condition. While he can still use his fingers to drive a wheelchair and to draw, things like skateboarding and swimming are simply not possible.

Enormous Street Art Portraits in Cuba

Street artists JR and José Parlá recently teamed up to create enormous and yet very intimate portraits of senior citizens who survived the Cuban Revolution (1953-1959). It's a continuation of a series called The Wrinkles of the City that JR started in Cartegena, Spain and that was recreated in Shanghai and Los Angeles.

This new iteration, based in Havana, Cuba, involved Parlá, who is of Cuban descent. French artist JR created the large portraits while Parlá added depth and beauty using calligraphic writings and color.

Drenched with about 500 inches of rainfall every year, Kauai's Mount Waialeale is considered one of the rainiest locations our world has to offer and hosts the "Wall of Tears." It's named for featuring thin, long waterfalls inside a crater wall of dense foliage. The spot isn't easily accessed, so helicopters fly over and around the region to catch a glimpse of its beauty. The extreme precipitation routinely blocks visibility with clouds that hug the landscape tightly. But as you can see here, few photographers got lucky during their helicopter rides, giving us a peek at phenomenal Hawaiian tropical scenery.

Lynch-Smith's collection of eye drawings present a captivating, up-close look at a variety of glistening eyes. Equipped with a set of Wolff's carbon pencils; 2h, 2b, and 4b mechanical pencils; and a white Posca pen for highlights, the 32-year-old artist uses his skilled hand to produce his monochromatic creations that offer more than just a few orbs staring back at you. The series, titled Reflections, features a number of eyes whose watery surface gives a glimpse of another scene.
