When it comes to satellite Internet you only get two options. One is HughesNet and the other is Wild Blue. Not many options when it comes to price other then expensive, expensive, and ridiculously expensive!!! Right now with Wild blue you have three packages to choose from starting from as low as $49.95 per month to $79.95 with download speeds from 512 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps (Not very fast compared to DSL or Broadband High Speed Internet) The problem with this is that it will cost you up tp $300 just to get it started and from what most consumers that have used it told me that they ended up getting dial up as much as they dislike it V.S. dealing with the headache of satellite internet. Every once in a while someone will tell me it's fairly decent but not nearly as much. When it comes to HughesNet its fairly the same but I would reccomend them over Wild Blue simply because they have been around longer and have better promotional plans like $0 upfront with a $100 REBATE but your monthly price is higher; at least they give you that option. Unfortunately for most people in a rural area it's either this or dial up, and for most people the dial up age is over, waaayyyy over! The good news is that a lot of companies are stepping up in the wireless internet industry like WIFI cards that work in almost any labtops and with plans as low as $30 a month like AT&T. Only downside is that you need a labtop but when you got internet that goes anywhere you go why not invest in a labtop.

The Big Ten Network is now available on Dish Network

The Big Ten Network launched in August of 2007 and since then has been gaining a lot of popularity! At first I was pretty upset because it was only offered on DirecTV and not on Dish Network. It personally didn't bother me that it wasn't on cable because most of the time that's a rip off anyways! But... overall I think Dish Network is better then DirecTV, and I switched to Dish from DirecTV about four months ago and I pay a lot less and get more bang for my buck in my opinion. (Compare Dish V.S. DirecTV) Well... the good news is that as of September 6, 2007 Dish Network now carries The Big Ten Network! You can subscribe to the Americas TOP 100 programming and it comes included on channel 439. Not only that but if you already subscribe to Dish Network and have the Americas TOP 100 or higher, it has been automatically added to your package! The difference between the 2 satellite carriers is that DirecTV has it in their TOTAL CHOICE package ($44.99 per month for 4 months $49.99 after) or you can get it with Dish Network in the Americas TOP 100 package ($29.99 per month *Not a promotional price, doesn't change).

The Big Ten Network carries the entire Big Ten division such as... University of Illinois, University of Indiana, University of Iowa, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, and the University of Wisconsin. For the die hard sports fan this is a must and since the college football season has started there's no time to lose! Check with your local cable company for listings and availability but most cable companies don't carry it and your kind of forced to go with Dish Network or DirecTV.

Ways to pay less for Comcast Cable, Phone, & Internet

Most people want to save as much as possible now a days with all the bills technology has supplied us with, so every penny counts. I know what your thinking "FREE" doesn't mean FREE! Most of the time that's definitely true, but in this case it's not "Free" but worth it.
Right now through a specific Comcast retailer you can get up to $300 in Rebates! Now I'm personally not a fan of these things but it works and $300 is $300! Let me tell you how it works and then you can check it out for yourself. It's pretty confusing because"they" want it to be, but you don't need to put that much money upfront, there's NO CONTRACT, and no credit checks.
Now in order to get these rebates you can only get 2 out of the three services, because you need a certain modem to run the phone, Internet, and cable compared to the one for just Internet and cable. Now for your Internet service you have the option to purchase or lease the modem... I suggest buying it because if you lease you pay $5.99 a month to do so. The modem costs $49.95 plus S&H ($15) $65 TOTAL. That's where the first rebates come in you get a rebate for the $49.95 you paid for the modem plus a $100 Internet Service Rebate, So you pay $65 upfront and get $150 in rebates... that's $75 bucks in your pocket! What's important is that you also get the cable because if you don't your Internet will be $59.95 a month. Instead you'll pay $19.99 for the first 6 months and $42.95 after. That's good considering your getting 6 mbps (in plain English fast) for your Internet speed and is about the avg. price for a dependable Internet service. The cable will cost you $33 for 6 months and after that you have the choice of paying roughly $13 to $100 depending on how much your willing to spend on cable t.v. Remember there's a rebate for the cable too! The cable rebate is for $100!!! So when you break it all down... You pay $65 upfront and that will cover your Internet and cable you pay nothing for installation, (Internet comes with self-install kit) for the first 6 months you pay roughly $53 for both Internet and cable, ($19.99 for Internet & $33 for digital cable) and after 6 months you can pay as low as $60 ($42.95 for Internet & $15 for basic cable) and you'll make a total profit of $175 off of the rebates!!! $100 from cable and $75 left over from Internet) That pays for more then the first three months of service that your basically getting as a reimbursement!!! Only down side is that it's not available everywhere.
