what you don't see here is the finished product that features a "?" at the end. it's nuance but it changes the perspective of this "art statement". i guess. but i suppose it is better to have people question it themselves than just stating it and coming across as a crazy.

my parents recently moved and in doing so, dug up some old toys. chief among them was this bevy of original stars wars action figures, vehicles and C-3PO caring case. glorious. the pride of this collection is ewok village, a playscape that no one had. no one.

i took this because it reminded me of childhood pets. more specifically what we did with them when they passed. we had a tree in our yard where all our small animal friends would get buried. a spirit tree of sorts, not a pet cemetery. as kids we would bury the animal and place a tombstone over the site. it was always a white rock that we made some indication of who was buried there, be it permanent marker or engraved crudely. this immediately struck me as just that, but probably not actually the case. either way, it was a fond reminder of all my little friends of the past.

just outside target field in minneapolis is a statue of the great kirby puckett. an old favorite of mine who's time came far to early with a ball to the face. this is his rightful place, along with the harmon killebrew statue, in a city who adored them.

in the middle of summer, you can still find some reindeer. these must be unremovably attached to the house to see them in july for what looks like it's been attached for a long time. they look happy regardless. they also look to be wear swastikas and sausages on their heads.

long-time readers will know that i've already captured the car version of this house and my wonder doesn't cease. this is a wonder of leslieville (the part of toronto i live in) to be sure. i don't know the story behind this collection of weather-beaten, semi-rotting toys adorning this property, but it is quite the sight.

i know the internet is running out of domain names, it was bound to happen. but surely there is still room for some kind of creativity left in choosing a name. i mean zoosk is doing the same thing and chose a made-up, albeit stupid, name. singlesfarm sends the wrong message. it says: "all the attractive people are elsewhere and the rest of the cows and other ugly livestock can be found here on this farm."

such a nice building that i purposely took from the 2nd storey up, lest i expose the weather beaten pictures of half naked ladies adorning the 1st. indeed, it is a strip club, a rather famous notorious one at that. though the notoriety is for quality reasons. some might say it's a blight to an otherwise nearly gentrified district of toronto, but i just refer to it as "local flavor."
