Dry battery honda accord s84/s86

On 7 september 2011 the battery died. luckily its happend in the garage. Change with new battery (dry battery) brand century and cost me Rm300 and minus rm20 for 2 old battery which I keep for too long in the garage.

How do I know that the battery just dead, when i open the door no hazard light blink, radio and clock almost dissappear and of course couldnt start the car. The battery is almost 2 1/2 years old and its not a dry battery.

Its a great idea to have voltmeter in the car, it helps us from stranded nowhere and its cheap, you can get for only Rm50-80 only.

Happened this morning around 8.30am 18th July 2011, At high speed Toyota Altis Crash on Backhoe after failed to overtake at corner. Unfortunately both driver safe with minor injuries. This happened just right on my eyes and 30meter away from my car. Concerned motorist helped the driver in totally damaged Toyota Altis to get out while the backhoe driver was thrown out on the road after the impact and very lucky not to hit by his own backhoe.

Honda accord HID from HIDIllusionz

This video show how the Honda Accord 6th gen or S84/S86 for Malaysia year 1998-2002 converted the lower headlight reflector. Currently installed not so bright and clearly seen only in dark situation/night. I plan to change it to HID but no luck so far, there is no HID bulb match. Thinking of LED, but too many LED on the road now and that wont make my ride looks special.

Looking forward to hear from any readers here where and how to have this HID for lower headlight reflector for 6th gen accord.

Spring or screw clamps

There are two type of radiator hose fastener commonly used, 1. screw type 2. spring clamps. Most of the vehicle owner prefer to use the screw type clamp, this clamp seem doing the job best. Fortunately for the upper or lower radiator hose which hold pressure this screw type is not the best.

Over the time the rubber (radiator hose) will flatten/shrink but the clamp maintain its condition/position. This will lead to water/coolant spray out within the hose end.

So the best clamp to use is spring type, even the hose flatten/shrink the clamp will continue doing his job, because the spring type keep clamping as hose shrink.

The screw types is also dangerous if you not properly tighten the screw. As you tighten the screw the lower part of the clamps that move will scratch the hose and making hole without anyone notice it. The harder you tighten up the screw the deeper the metal push inside the hose and created bigger holes.

Upper radiator hose and lower hose rock hard

I had this problem since few month ago, the upper and lower hose get so tight like rock hard, then it start to spray hot water from the joint at the engine block, like water sprinkler. I change the new OEM hose and with new screw type hose tighten. Even the hose is rock hard but my engine not overheated.

After a month the water start spraying again at the same spot. I googled around and found that, most the cases they suggested to change the thermostat, but after 2 days reading I came out with this idea that everyone should follow if you had the same problem.

1. Check whether there are no air bubble in the cooling system. If problem persist continue to step 2.

2. Change the thermostat, most probably the thermostat stuck closed so the water did not circulate. if problem persist continue stage 3.

3. Flush the radiator, maybe stuck radiator block the water from circulate. if problem persist, hope not.

4. Could be your head gasket blown.

Luckily after done removing the air from the cooling system, my upper and lower hose did not rock hard anymore. At normal operating temperature I can squeeze a bit the upper and lower hose.

How to remove the air? I have done this test on Honda Accord S84/S86 year 2000 2.0cc (6th generation) with factory fitted engine.

1. Remove the radiator cap.

2. Start the engine and run the air conditioning in order to let the fan and thermostat open faster.

3. During the engine running with radiator cap open squeeze the upper and lower hose to let the air come out faster. Repeat the squeezing. Fill the radiator with water if needed.Continue doing this until the fan start to run.

This to ensure the thermostat is open and the water is properly circulate and air being push out from the system.

4. After 15 minutes, turn off the engine and close the radiator cap as usual. Than start the engine and let the engine running for about 10 minutes. Now try to squeeze back the radiator hose, the hose now is squeezable.

My problem solved by doing the first step only. If your problem persist after doing the step 1, than luck is not on your side so keep trying with the next step.

This is it. The Ferrari 458 Italia, the 562 HP replacement for the F430 and the latest prancing pony to make you ache with automotive lust.

The F430 was nice and all, but it was beginning to feel hacked together with so many iterations since the body’s first inception. This latest piece is quite the machine, unified in design and packing a cracking engine, a 4.5-liter, direct injection V8 with 562 HP, 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 RPM with 80% torque coming in at 3,250 RPM. That’s 52 HP more than the standard F430. Zero to sixty is expected to come in at less than 3.4 seconds and top speed will be over 200 MPH. But it’s not all beauty and speed, there are some pretty neat tricks too. Like those winglets in the grille? Those are actually passively variable aerodynamic elements, as speed increases, they deform downward and increase downforce — how cool is that! And don’t even get us started on the tailpipes.
