We recently had some work done on the exterior of our house and in the process replaced our old shutters and windows boxes to update the look of our home. I went to FIVE local home improvement stores to try and find replacement window boxes and found NOTHING that would work. I decided to do a search on the internet and found a wonderful selection of planters & boxes on your website. www.hooksandlattice.com

We have had more compliments on our home since we put up your window boxes and shutters. Good grief--people stop their cars in the middle of the street, back up, and pull in our driveway just to chit chat about how different the house looks. We can see how the neighbors start a more leisurely pace on their walks once they get to in front of our house. Can you believe we even had a neighbor ask us to cut down the tree in our front yard so that he could have a better look at our beautiful "new" home? Wish we would have made this change long ago, and we are so glad we finally did.

What fun I have had with my new window boxes. They have drawn so much attention to my home that I received Yard-of-the-Month for the first time in the 15 years of living in this home. When I planted them in April, I had no idea that the plants would grow so large. The dragon wing begonias, caladiums, and asparagus ferns offer fantastic color and texture, and they are perfect for the eastern exposure. The Carolina window boxes hold more soil than a traditional window box, and I am sure that has been beneficial. I am extremely happy with my Hooks and Lattice window boxes.

Hello Everyone at Hooks and Lattice!

Here are this year's window boxes! Attached are the photos of the new "railing" composite Hampton box which has the planter well and worms in it. Although it was planted a full 4 weeks after my other containers and boxes, it did incredibly well and I have only watered it a couple of times. The railing box matches the 72" Hampton box that I purchased last summer and hangs on the front of the house. I put in an overview shot of the house so you can see how great both boxes look!

You'll also find a shot of one of two 48" Windsor boxes that are attached to my kitchen windows - the second is on the other side of that window and it makes washing dishes very pleasant with my view of beautiful window boxes full of petunias! I enjoy them as much from the inside as I do from outside.

I may send a couple "replacement" pictures in the next couple of days if the rain here hasn't hammered the flowers too badly - the sun was awfully bright the day that I took those shots and I think that I can do better with a bit less direct light!

Premier Cellular Composite PVC does not look anything like the PVC furniture that is so common in the backyard these days. In fact, we have had numerous people including cabinet makers touch and feel our Premier Composite PVC material and mistaken it for real wood.

2nd Email - How have you been?? I'm sending you some pictures of my window boxes from last summer. As you can see, my flowers grow quite well in my XL Carolina boxes. The pictures are taken earlier in the summer then I took some later to show the growth. Lots of room in my window boxes.....with plants that large on top they also have quite a root developement underneath. The depth of my window boxes contributes to such a beautiful display.I also included some bonus pictures of my rain chains. We received soooo much snow in the past 4 weeks and now the weather has started to warm up. As the snow melts off the roof it runs down the copper cups and as it cools off it freezes. Since SD doesn't get snow I thought you would enjoy seeing a beautiful display of nature!!

Custom Length Copper Window Box

As you can see by the earlier dates – It took me a while to organize the window box.
It’s now planted – with excellent self watering drainage – so it will be easy to maintain.

I got a ton of compliments as soon as I had the window box installed……..now with the flowers in – I’ve seen people drive by my house and slow down.

We love it!

Attached please find 2 pictures I'd like to enter in your window box contest. One before and the other after. I've looked for years to find the perfect window box, and after searching the internet I discovered "Hooks and Lattice". The gentlemen I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and walked me thru finding just the right one for our changing seasons in Minnesota. I couldn't wait for it to arrive and when it did, the flowers were already bought and I've have it admired it ever since. I'm anxious to decorate the window box for each season. The flowers have only been planted for about 6 weeks or so next year I'll get an earlier start. I've already got some new ideas for next summer. I would love love love to win the contest. My husband and I live on the farm I grew up on as a kid, and would love to have a few more window boxes to decorate our house on the family homestead. Supreme Fiberglass Window Boxes

Recently I received a contest offer to submit to you pictures of our window boxes. I have to tell you that regardless of the contest offer it was always our intent to send these pictures to you anyway.

We purchased a 72" and 36" Supreme flowerbox window boxes and we are so very glad that we did. Our homefront (literally) is the talk of our neighborhood. Many of our near and distant neighbors walk in the late afternoon and evening hours and they can't help but stop in order to look at our wonderful flowerbox displays.

Custom Mariposa Hayrack Trough Window Box

Dear HooksAndLattice: Thanks for your all your help with my custom order of a five and six foot Deluxe Mariposa window box. I wanted you to see a picture of your window box made for this six foot wide window. The picture really can't capture how nice the window box looks. I inserted real plants in pots, added some fake spikes, and surrounded the pots with green moss which made for a soft effect under this otherwise long window. We think that the "Hayrack Trough" Deluxe Mariposa was the ideal solution to put under our black aluminum windows in this courtyard entry. Thanks too, for the review of instructions in hanging when we picked up the boxes. The boxes attached easily to the stucco. Considering the length of my boxes, they are strong enough to hold pots, and strong enough for direct planting.

Planter on a plain wall

Yesterday I went to my Mom's to test the planter box I purchased and make certain it works and it fit perfectly. As you can see, the retaining wall is massive and not attractive. I'll be ordering 7 or 8 more and each panel of the retaining wall will have a box at the top.

We'll be staining the boxes so they more closely match the wall and planting "stuff" at the base of the wall to grow up as well.

I'll send you photos when it is all complete....several months away.
