Disney Parks are famous for their unforgettable snacks and sweet treats — and lucky for us, many official Disney peanut butter recipes have been shared over the years so we can recreate the magic at home.

National Peanut Butter Lover's Day is celebrated annually on March 1st and during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney launched Cooking Up the Magic at Home, releasing beloved park recipes to bring a little pixie dust into our kitchens. We looked forward to each and every one!

Today, we’re sharing a few of our favorite peanut butter recipes from Disney Parks that we absolutely love here at Picturing Disney. From indulgent French toast to nostalgic PB&J milkshakes, these treats are perfect for Disney fans and peanut butter lovers alike.

Disney’s Chocolate, Peanut Butter & Banana French Toast

This over-the-top baked French toast combines creamy peanut butter, bananas, and chocolate for a decadent breakfast or brunch straight from the parks.

Ingredients

8 thick slices day-old challah bread
2 ripe bananas
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
6 eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 cup low-fat chocolate milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Chocolate syrup and powdered sugar (optional)

Tip: Challah is a rich, egg-based bread lightly sweetened with honey — it makes incredible French toast thanks to its soft, fluffy texture.

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
Cut bread into 1-inch cubes and place in a large bowl. Slice bananas and add to bowl with chocolate chips.
In a blender, combine peanut butter, eggs, chocolate milk, cinnamon, and salt. Blend until smooth.
Pour egg mixture over bread mixture and gently stir until absorbed.
Transfer to baking dish and bake 35–40 minutes, until golden brown.
Drizzle with chocolate syrup and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Starring Rolls Café Butterfinger Cupcakes

Inspired by Starring Rolls Cafe at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

If you ever visited Starring Rolls Café, you know their cupcakes were legendary. This peanut butter and chocolate Butterfinger cupcake recipe is rich, crunchy, and totally worth the effort.

Cupcake Ingredients
- 1 box Devil’s Food Cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)
- 1 batch buttercream frosting (see below)
- 1 can fudge frosting
- 4 cups chocolate chips
- 6 Tbsp canola oil
- 3 King-Size Butterfingers (or miniatures)
Buttercream Frosting
- 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons whipping cream
Directions
1. Prepare cupcakes according to box directions. Cool completely.
2. Cut a cone shape from the center of each cupcake. Fill with fudge frosting and replace top to create a peak.
3. Frost cupcakes and let sit 30 minutes.
4. Crush Butterfingers (frozen works best).
5. Melt chocolate chips and oil in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Cool slightly.
6. Dip frosted cupcakes into melted chocolate, holding frosting in place with a spoon.
7. Immediately coat with crushed Butterfinger pieces.
8. Refrigerate 1 hour until chocolate sets.
These are perfect for parties and taste just like the Disney original!

Peanut Butter Rolls with Jelly Drizzle

This simple, kid-friendly Disney peanut butter snack recipe is easy to make and fun to serve.

Ingredients

8 slices wheat bread
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup strawberry or grape jelly

Directions

Cut crusts off bread and flatten slices with a rolling pin.
Spread 1½ tablespoons peanut butter evenly on each slice.
Roll tightly from the long side and slice into 4 pieces.
Arrange seam-side down on plate.

For the Jelly Drizzle:
Place jelly in a freezer bag, snip the corner, and drizzle over rolls in a zigzag pattern. If jelly is too thick, stir in a small amount of warm water before piping.

1/4 cup milk

Directions

Disney Acquires Film Rights to Impossible Creatures

Disney has officially acquired the film rights to Impossible Creatures. The acclaimed fantasy book series by British author Katherine Rundell is set to become a big screen franchise.

The acquisition is described as a “substantial seven-figure” deal, positioning the series as a potential competitor to blockbuster fantasy franchises of our time. Rundell will be central to the creative vision and development of the franchise, adapting the first two books into live-action feature film screenplays and producing alongside her creative partner Charles Collier. Additionally, Impossible Films will have a first-look deal with Disney that includes Rundell's current and upcoming literary properties.

What Impossible Creatures Is All About

Set in the richly imagined Glimouria Archipelago, Impossible Creatures started as a trilogy and has since expanded to a five-book saga through publishing deals with Bloomsbury and Knopf.

Rundell’s second installment, The Poisoned King, became an international bestseller—making her the first U.K. children’s author since J.K. Rowling to top both the U.K. and U.S. children’s book charts at the same time.

Disney plans to adapt the first two books into live-action films under its Disney Live Action banner, with Rundell writing the screenplays and co-producing alongside creative partner Charles Collier.

Why This Deal Matters

This acquisition represents a pivot from Disney’s recent reliance on remakes and legacy toward fresh, original fantasy storytelling. While recent live-action reboots produced mixed results, successes such as Lilo & Stitch underscore that original takes can still resonate

By securing first rights to adapt Rundell’s current and future properties through her production company — Impossible Films — Disney is laying the groundwork for a deeper, long-term content strategy.

Disney is betting that Impossible Creatures has the fan appeal, and narrative depth to rival dominant franchises.

Walt Disney's Favorite Chili Recipe: Comfort Food For Stressful Times

I think we could all use some delicious comfort food right now.

Since most of us are hunkering down with our families I can't think of anything more comforting than Walt's Chili. I have gone into the Picturing Disney archives to bring you all a little taste of "HOME"

Do you love the food at Disney Parks?

After coming home from my first Disneyland trip many years ago I was craving something classic Disney. With fall on the horizon "Walt’s Own Chili" recipe sounded fabulous!

This dish never disappoints. I used the Cooking with Mickey and the Disney Chefs cookbooks as my base. I made the recipe more personal by adding extra spices to suit my taste.

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef
3/4 lb. beef stew meat
1 small onion- diced
1 medium green pepper-diced
4 cloves garlic- minced
1⁄2 cup oil (vegetable or olive)
1 cup chopped celery
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tsp. paprika
1 plum tomato- diced (for garnish)
1 large 28 ounce can diced tomatoes
1 1/2 cups water
1 14.5 ounce can pinto beans- rinsed/drained/dried overnight
Salt to taste

*Garnish--> Sour Cream, Shredded Cheddar
Cheese, Diced Tomatoes

Directions:

Makes approximately six servings

Add beans to pan and cover with water (2 inches over beans).
Simmer with onions until tender (2 hours).
Heat oil and sautee garlic.
Brown beef with celery until lightly browned.
Add remaining ingredients.
Simmer for 1 hour.
Once beans are tender, add sauce to chili base and simmer together for 1⁄2 hour.

Serve topped with garnish.

Disney Celebrates 100 Years of Magic in New ABC 20/20 Special

ABC is marking the 100th anniversary of the beloved Disney franchise with a once-in-a-lifetime documentary event on 20/20. Disney 100: A Century of Dreams, A Special Edition of 20/20.

The two-hour event will commemorate all the magical moments of Disney's past, present and future, featuring "interviews, rare footage and photos, and never-before-heard stories from those who built the Disney Legend," according to an official release. There's also a new sneak peek at an upcoming new Disney theme park attraction.

Disney 100: A Century of Dreams – A Special Edition of 20/20 takes viewers on a magical journey that started in 1923, featuring a century of stories and experiences that will touch the hearts of audiences everywhere.
