Song 2 has been extended. It now features a medieval intro and outro and a catchy riff has been added. The new riff comes up at 1:11 at is repeated at 2:25. The song is played on a classical guitar in one go with no overdubs. It is going to be developed further.

This the first version of song12. I have played the first part of the fingerpicking section every now and then in the past years. I liked it but it was too short for a song. In June 2011 I extended the fingerpicking section and added some strumming and ended up with version 1.

This is my first organ song. A by-product from my guitar endavours. I recorded the sound of my very old Roland EM-10 on a Zoom-H2. Unfortunately the EM-10 doesn't have a line-out. At times you can hear the sound of my fingers hitting the keys. Nevermind. Once I get a better keyboard the sound will get better too. Below you can find the first version of this song. Also played on the EM-10 with church organ emulation.

This the second version of song1. The composition is pinned down but it needs further production. Its length has nearly the dubbled. The volume is pumped up compared to version1. The closing of the song was not planned. Actually I had no plan how to finish version2, I must admit:-). So I will plan a better finish for version3.

This is the second installment of Song2.
There are some changes to version1.
Version3 is already in the works.
It will feature a melodic fingerstyle-outro in addition to the rough strumming at the end of version2. A brigde may also incorporated.
So version3 will definitely be longer than version2.
I will also try to record version3 at a higher rec level.
There is still room on the upside for some db.

My father died on New Year's Eve. Overcome by deep sadness and sorrow I recorded the song a couple of hours after his death on the ground floor of our house while the warmth was leaving his body on the first floor. Life is not funny most of the times. (The recording is bit too quiet, especially when heard over computer speakers.It sounds allright with earphones, tough.) The second song named song2 suddenly appeared during a jam session a couple of days ago. Again, this song needs improvement too. The version here is a raw demoversion with some errors. I'm gonna add some spices and cook it so that it tastes better.

I want to preempt any complaint by admitting that this is a version I would not place on a CD.
During the afternoon of Nov 25 I decided to start off "Pieces for Guitar". A couple of pieces were and still are in the final ripening stage. I picked song 1. Switched on my Zoom H2. Played the song for an hour. Then I had enough. Listened a bit to the recording and decided that song 1 (version 1) was the song to start off the blog.
It's by far not perfect. The strumming is better than the finger-style. The latter will be improved upon.
Is this an instrumental song?
Not necessarily, although I think it is strong enough to stand without vocals.
Vocals may be added. But not mine :-)
I have never understood why Bob Dylan has been singing.
Mike Oldfield makes more sense to me.
