Serial Social Venturer Ian Charles Stewart joins PAE

After coaching Piëch Asia Enterprises for several years as a board member, Ian Charles Stewart has consented to join the team. He will play the position of company chairman.

In his new role, Ian will guide the PAE Group of companies as they fulfill PAE’s mission to “make money and do good.” Since December 2010, when he officially joined the firm, he has been restructuring and rethinking how the company works, so that we can rally to new entrepreneurial victories.

Ian is a well-known startup guru, who has advised and lead new companies for over 20 years. Khunu, ArtWorld Salon, Seven Peaks Capital, Blue Bamboo, UpMyStreet, AZTEC Internet, The Digital Village, and WiReD Magazine are just a few of the companies he has either founded or helped fund and build.

In recent years, his primary focus has been on education and social entrepreneurship, which uses business practices for social benefits. He has taught on the entrepreneurship, venture capital and social venture capital programmes at London Business School, been a Trustee of the Institute of Contemporary Arts for over ten years, and is a visiting professor at University of the Arts, London. Here in China, he serves as a board member, chairman of the Trustees Committee, and volleyball coach at the Western Academy of Beijing.

It’s an honor to have one of the world’s foremost startup gurus join our firm, and we welcome him aboard.

PAE Clothing Drive

As the winter season is upon us (as well as the holiday season), we would like to introduce a winter clothing drive for a good cause. I’m sure many of you have clothes at home that you no longer wear because they’re out of fashion, you’ve grown bored with them, or you have just forgotten about all together. Well, this is an opportunity for you to free up space in your closets as well as help those in need of clean, well-maintained clothes (for adults and children) for the season.

Mad Hatter brunch a big success

PAE held its first Mad Hatter Brunch at Sureno, The Opposite House, on Saturday, December 11th. The event officially introduced our Halo Fund to PAE friends and family, as well as newbies who joined in on the hat craze. The brunch raised money for our first foundation which will be launched in March, which will support critical issues here in China. Here are a few images of our “mad hatters”:

We would like to officially introduce you to The Halo Martini which is available at The Opposite House. Which means that even if it is NOT on the menu you can order it THROUGHOUT the entire hotel. One of five “Mesh signature drinks,” this one was created especially for the Halo Fund.

The Halo Cupcake is another Opposite House creation, this time by their bakery, Colibri. It too was especially designed for PAE tastebuds…as well as benefiting our Halo Fund.
