To get the buttons working I upgraded my BIOS on my A100-LE1.
Only now having a problem with Standby on mine. That and a bit of problem with APIC. The network does not work when I use the noapic kernel param, but without it I run kinda hot (73C vs 52C).
Hope the BIOS note helps ur buttons. This also made everything like brightness buttons work too. Hardy Heron.

Good article. Does the final bundle have dependencies on Equinox, or just on the OSGi framework?

Nice article! I would be interested to see what's involved in using Eclipse to develop OSGi bundles targetted at non-Equinox runtimes (such as Felix).

For the JavaBean column, isn't java.beans.BeanContext the container model?

Quote:
Package java.beans.beancontext Description

Provides classes and interfaces relating to bean context. A bean context is a container for beans and defines the execution environment for the beans it contains. There can be several beans in a single bean context, and a bean context can be nested within another bean context. This package also contains events and listener interface for beans being added and removed from a bean context.

Since:
    1.2

Perhaps, in the future, something Like Spring will become the defacto Javabean container model?

Comparing EJBs to OSGI is a little bit non sense. OSGI is a general purpose component model. EJBs are components for building enterprise apps. In the same way that we do not build a desktop application on top of EJBs, OSGI, out of the box, does not have the features necessary for building an enterprise app such as transactions, messaging, etc. But if we could have an enterprise stack (we already have a few experimental ones) built around OSGI it would be very great. Then we could compare that to EJB/J2EE.

I like your thorough comparison.
I wonder if you have looked at OSGI.net. The environment used by my major client is .net centric.
Thank you
