We were contacted last year by Sparkle Bebe Model Magazine to host a Piggy Paint contest for the cover of one of their Spring issues. Valentine’s was one of my favorite holidays growing up. It was always just a few weeks after Christmas (which was my favorite) and I always looked forward to my Valentine’s Day gifts from my parents. They were never the biggest or most expensive gifts, but they made me feel so special and loved. I also really enjoyed making my parents lovely Valentine’s Day cards Another, really great part of this day was helping my mother, an elementary teacher, eat the many boxes of chocolate that her classroom kids would bring her! I loved it! Always a great helper

Every Tuesday afternoon, my girls show me their “Tuesday folders” with all of their schoolwork from the previous week. My kindergartener prefers to tell me (in great detail) about each and every page, whereas it’s getting harder and harder for me to probe info from my second grader. Perhaps I should start asking her to write down what she’s thinking—check out her reading response. In case you have a hard time reading her inventive spelling, here’s what it says:

…Write about one thing that you love about yourself and would not change.

MA’s response:
I will not change my face. My eyes are so pretty and they are my favorite color blue. I like my shape of my mouth. My hair is so pretty and smooth. My hair is always so beautiful with my headbands and my bows. My neck is the perfect shape. I think I have some freckles. Everybody says that I have perfect eyebrows. So I think I am so perfect. My nose is a good shape. I do not have spiders in my hair. The end.

As young girls, most of us grew up knowing that we were perfect, yet at some point someone told us otherwise (and we believed them!). If someone asked me to write one thing that I love about myself and would not change, I would struggle, yet my little girl wrote until the lines on the paper stopped her. The following verse comes to mind: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27.

Yes, my Love, you are perfect—and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

This week, we will introduce Taylor!

Taylor is a sweet, fun-loving, woman of the Lord, who is wonderful to work with! She comes to work each day with a great attitude and is always that extra boost of positive encouragement that anyone needs. Taylor is our Operations Manager here at Piggy Paint and she does a great job! We all love working with her!

Oh, I almost forgot! She also has a beautiful voice!
