Everybody is so pinterested this days about pinterest. Come on people! It's just another Digg & StumbleUpon web 2.0 thing. But way cooler. It's not my opinion, is just what everybody is talking about for some day now.
OOOOOOOK!!!! Now, let's see what it's soooooo pinteresting about this thing that even Flickr doesn't like.

Pinterest is a pinboard-styled social photo sharing website. The service allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections. The site's mission statement is to "connect everyone in the world through the 'things' they find interesting." (via wikipedia)

And what I find fascinating is that this website has proven especially pinteresting among women. Yeah, is a chick thing!!!!! I knew it! Just look at the categories :)

I found these two lovely ingniting activites based on the same meachanics/priciples but advertising two differnt things. They look like a lot of fun. I hear that for Valentine's our lovely Bucharest set itself with the task of writing the longest love declaration. It happened in the old city centere and it involved some papaer paved walls that couples wrote their thoughts on. Not Bad!!! But people really need to stop and have a Cola from time to time ;)

I really like the new Chrysler communication strategy. I would say it's extremely well adapted to the times in which Americans live and of course that can work just as well for us, Romanians & Europeans. It's halftime in America. The TV ad is really great and Clint Eastwood does what knows best, he presents a great motivational speech to America .He encourages the nation to unite for the greater good with Detroit's revival as inspiration, and thus to mobilize an entire country for the second half. But the USP is just stating the obvious: Imported from Detroit.

Maybe, the Romanian people need a great motivational speech rather than all the panic seen allover the media; crisis, crisis, crisis.

Ok..ok...ok..I'll give them some really neat functions like looking up your favourite songs and showing you how to play them or getting you to the nearest gas station when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere... BUT ROCK GOD??? Really? Is that what we've come to? Having a machine heal or pump up our ego, taking a road trip with a loved one and spending more time talking TO your phone then each other. Having the damn iPhone remind you to HAVE SOME FUN AGAIN???
C'mon people... let's get a hold of ourselves and our lives before machines, robots and iPhones do. I guess if I need my phone to call me an Ad Wizard I really must not be getting my thrills from anywhere else. We need a really big lesson in "think for yourself again" or I'm thinking the S in this iPhone name stands for what we really are...

I was startled to see this recent "stunt" from IKEA - catching a glimpse of people's real lives in some special made-up rooms in the subway. Beside satisfying my curiosity about Parisian women shaving their armpits ;)) I see no real benefit from this action. It seems intrusive and forced somehow and it still doen't convince me that Ikea can bring solutions for an entire REAL home space. Everything is still standardized..and houses..are NOT ;) I tried to order my kitchen furniture from them and they couldn't find any solutions for my rather unordinary, small kitchen. Anywayz...this was a big thing in Paris so I guess it deserves our attention. Tell me what you think? I would appreciate your thoughts on this guerilla domestic initiative ;)

It took a guy's insight (an art director) to make it this one totally clear to me. The new Beetle is going for a manly... manlier design, more friendly communication. As a woman I just appreciated the "coming out of the tunnel" joke and the clear, very impactfull image. I love the simplicity and yet brialliance of these executions. As I woman I don't feel offended by the TV ad - it's a call for elegance and posture in any given situation ... and clothes are a big part of that for a woamn so I can relate. The prints have no big idea behind them but they're wonderfully executed ... goes to show that old ideas can still work out if done right. In Romania most creatives forget that and keep seaching for genious where simplicity and truthfulnuss can do the trick just as well. This is my New Year's resolution for this industry - keeping it simple does not have to mean keeping it safe, but it can save us a lot of time and egos ;)

To AD-apt or not to adapt... that is the question that this TV ad from Leo Burnett Milan poses. I must say the message is NOt to adapt, the way it is explicitly expressed. All and all it is an AD well put together, clear and to the point.

Pet AD-options are various and humorous. These examples don't have such a powerful message, but they do remind me that from the picking up, cleaning after them and the weird faces & sounds we make when we're around them, one would think that they are actually the Masters and we have absolutely no control :)) So the insight is there... I would have taken it a step further though...

The subject hits very close to home as to the dogs, shelters and euthansion issues that are really stiring up people's "fancy" in Bucharest and all around the country, so perhaps my Romanian viewers can take a closer gander at this...
