In order to keep my apartment from being taken over by caps, it was high time I tame his collection.<br /><br />I found a clever solution on <a href="http://pinterest.com/pinch_n_save/">Pinterest</a> that used shower curtain c-hooks, but the majority my husband's caps are fitted so I needed to find another way to organize his caps. I had several book rings in my desk, so I decided to combine them with leftover clothes pins from my <a href="http://pinchalittlesavealot.blogspot.com/2012/07/diy-organizing-clothespin-tacks.html">tack project</a>. Since I already had everything on hand, this project was FREE! Besides the amazing price, I love that my husband has no more excuses because all of his hats are in one place and they are super easy to take out and put back! No more hats falling on my head when I open the entry closet!!<br />

1) Gather supplies<br />
2) Place clothespin in a vice and drill straight through both sides. <br />
3) Open book rings, thread clothespins and attach to hanger. <br />
4) Use clothespins to organize those caps!<br />

Tip: Make sure to drill the hole low enough so you can easily open the clothespin.<br />
<br />
Total time: around 30 minutes<br />

I love the idea of a reward chart as a way to inspire good behavior and encourage responsibility! My mom was a teacher and she used an incentive chart both in her classroom and at home, so I am very familiar with those metallic star stickers.<br />

An ideal family plan should have short-term (in the next 6 months), medium-term (within a year), and long-term (within 2 years) goals.<br />
<br />
For a goal to work, it needs to be both specific and sensible. Example: I don’t want to just “buy a new car” I want to drive an Audi R8 Spyder; but an A3 is more in my price range ($100k less!) and is a realistic goal.<br />
<br />
Once you have them all written down, you can weigh the importance of each goal and prioritize according to urgency. Then estimate how much money it will take to reach each goal and set a target date. Without a time frame you can’t really measure your progress.<br />
<br />
When you know how much money you want to save and how much time you have to save it, you can develop an action plan for achieving your goals. There are multiple ways to achieve a goal; maybe you want to save a certain amount of money each month or find different ways to cut expenses.<br />
<br />
Keep in mind that this is a continuing process that involves revisiting your goals periodically to ensure that they are still what you want from your life. In between reviewing and adjusting your goals, let them go! Give yourself permission to be flexible and to let go of the need to obsess over your goals.<br />
<br />
After creating your financial plan, you will be ready to build a budget that can help you reach your goals.<br />

I've been thinking a lot about prioritizing and figuring out how best to spend my time in 2013. Yes, there are already too many tasks that must get done each day...cleaning, organizing, etc. But this year I want to also start making time for what's important in my life.<br />

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! When I checked back into the blog world this afternoon I was upset to find that my download links are no longer working because I've gone over my bandwidth limit on Box.com. I am thrilled that my printables are being shared so much, but I was hoping that I wouldn't have to pay the $99/year upgrade fee until after I had a few sponsors to help offset the cost. So here is my current dilemma - I LOVE sharing and I want to continue giving all of you free printables, but I can't financially afford the online storage fees. So I'm currently waiting to hear back from Box and hopefully everything will be back up in the next few days. <br />

Hi everyone! Now that Halloween is over and the candy comas have worn off, it's time to pack away the decorations until next year.<br />
<br />
Yesterday, I packed up all of my spooky décor and labeled my new orange and purple storage bins. Now I can just read the label on the front of each bin and instantly know everything that is inside! The inventory list lets me know where each container is stored, so no more unstacking, rummaging through and re-stacking!<br />

I desperately needed one place to corral all of our important items such as keys, wallets, watches, spare change, glasses, phones and outgoing mail. I thought about buying one of those personalized lucite trays that you see on all of the organizing blogs, but they are pricey and I was worried about them scratching. Thrift store shopping it was!<br />

After finding an unfinished wood tray at Goodwill, I had to decide how I was going to turn it into a cute catch-all tray. I could have stenciled a design or covered it with fabric, wallpaper or even washi tape. In the end I decided to paint it white and take a rattan placemat that I already had and cut it to fit the bottom of the tray. Since I didn't need to attach the placemat with glue, I can swap it out with a new one whenever I feel like a change.<br />
<br />
Now when my husband gets home from work he has a place to quickly empty all of his pocket litter, best of all everything stays together so his keys, ID badge and safety glasses are no longer cluttering the dining table. I'm one happy wife! Now if I could just get him to hang his coat and put his boots away. :)<br />

At the beginning of the month I look over our calendar to see if we have any parties or date-nights coming up. I mark these dates on the menu planner with “Out” magnets.<br />

For the days we are eating at home, I assign meals using the "# magnets”. I choose between the top 20 recipes from each protein source, ensuring that we have at least 1 seafood and 2 vegetarian meals a week. {The color-coding system corresponds with the recipe binders, which makes for easier meal planning.} </div>

Next, I allocate a side to go with the main dish. I can choose between one of the top 20 “soup & side dish” recipes or from one of the 7 abbreviated side dishes. <br />

To save time and money<span style="font-family: inherit;">, I’ve started to double my recipes and freeze half for an easy meal later. The “snowflake” magnet helps remind me to buy extra ingredients. We tend to have freezer meals once a week, so I tag those days with both the “Leftovers” </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">and "#" magnets. You could also hand-write in the meal name. </span><br />

Are you still following me? To avoid boredom we try a new recipe at least twice a month, which is marked by the “NEW!” magnet. If we love a new meal and want it to become part of the regular rotation; I simply type and print a recipe card, decide which of the 20 recipes in our binder we’ve grown tired of and insert the new one in its place. Easy as pie! <br />

We've only been using ours for the past few weeks, but I'm already smitten with it – its way more organized than my last system. I love that I can easily shift around the magnets if plans change and I can quickly swap out recipes when my family gets tired of a meal. Plus planning a whole month at once saves me time and guarantees that we eat a variety of balanced meals.</span><br />

1. Purchase printable magnetic sheets and full-sheet labels at Staples along with a magnetic dry-erase calendar.</div>

Print the 1st page again, only this time on the full-sheet labels.<br />Cut out the # labels and place them on the corners of each sheet protector that holds your top 20 recipe cards in each of the 7 binders.<br /><br />4. Plan out your monthly menu and pop it on your fridge using 3M Command Picture Hanging Strips.<br />Step back and admire your lovely new planner from every angle.<br /><br />5. Place extra magnets in baseball card sleeves and put them in front of one of your recipe binders for easy access when meal planning. </span></div>

1. First things first grab all of your recipes – all of the recipe cards and internet print-outs, the ones ripped out of magazines and written on post-its. Make sure you have enough space to go through them!</div>
<div>
Make 2 piles "keep" & "recycle". Split the "keep" pile into 7 categories: Poultry, Beef, Vegetarian, Pork, Seafood, Soups & Sides and Desserts. </div>
<div>
From each category decide which recipes are your “favorites” and which ones you have yet to "try".<br />
<br />
2. Snag (7) 1” binders from Staples along with 4 Martha Stewart Secure-Top Sheet Protectors (8 ½” x 11”- 10 pack). You will also need plastic sleeves for the recipes you want to try.<br />
<br />
3. Next download the printable recipe cards and fill them in with your “favorite” recipes. Copying and pasting your recipes can be a little time consuming, so unless you have some down time you may want to spread out the process over a few days.<br />
Print and color in the symbols with a colored pencil. This could be a fun activity to do with older kids, maybe make a new recipe each week and have the family decide on how many stars to rate it?<br />
Place the completed recipe cards inside the secure-top sheet protectors and place all of the recipes you’ve yet to try inside the plastic sleeves.*you can place recipes back to back in each pocket to save room.<br />

4. Finish printing and placing the covers inside the binder fronts. You’re now ready to insert all of those tempting recipes and cook up something yummy!<span style="font-family: inherit;"><u1:p></u1:p>

movie I am in the mood for! Adding a new movie is a breeze; I just slide it
into a sleeve and add it to the inventory. I’m saving money and trees by laminating
the inventory and writing in new tittles rather than reprinting it every time I
add a new movie. Lastly, if I know there is a </span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 15.75pt;">sequel
coming out soon I’ll leave some extra space for it.</span><br />

dividers with pretty paper and label each section by season. Now they are easy
to access and I can grab a scent quickly. Bring on the unexpected visitors!</span></span><br />

differences in my opinion are that Scentsy</span> comes with a warranty and
they have a larger selection of smells and cute warmers, but the smells aren’t
as strong and don’t last as long. <span style="line-height: 115%;">Scentsational and BHG </span><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 115%;">appear to be the same
quality for half the cost and </span><span style="line-height: 115%;">you
can </span><span style="line-height: 115%;">order
additional scents from their website. </span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 115%;">I personally like
them both but I tend to buy the cheaper ones. That being said if I find a
really cute warmer I may be willing to fork over an extra $15 for it, same goes
for the scents too. An extra $2.50 maybe worth it for a must have scent. I have yet to try scent bars made from </span></span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 115%;">soy wax</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 115%;">, but hopefully soon I can review </span></span><span style="line-height: 18px;">those</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 115%;"> for you as well. </span></span><span style="background-color: white;"> </span><br />

Here’s how:<br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 12.65pt;">1. Bend pool noodle into a circle until both ends meet. Then tape them together using duct tape.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 18px;">2. Use your glue gun to adhere magnets to the part of your wreath where you would like to put decorations. I used the tip of my glue gun to melt the foam around the magnets so they are flush with the wreath. Make sure to use strong enough magnets that will work through the yarn.</span> <span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 115%;"> </span><br />

of the yarn to tighten and push the yarn together. Repeat the process until
covered, then cut your yarn and sew it through the first few starting strands on the wreath
using a yarn needle and tie it off.</span></div>

shared my <a href="http://pinchalittlesavealot.blogspot.com/2012/05/printable-room-design-organizing.html" target="_blank">Room Design & Organizing Plan</a> with you, since then I have
found a few terrific items at my local thrift store that will look great in my living
room! With the economy the way it is, buying used is a great way to save
money! I love shopping at thrift stores for awesome finds that
I normally wouldn't be able to afford. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">When shopping
secondhand it is best to go with a plan and know what you are looking for <span style="background-color: white; color: #2f2f2f; line-height: 30px;">ahead of time</span>. If you find that special item you have
been searching for, you need to first make sure it will fit in the space and
through your front door. Having a detailed shopping list with dimensions will
insure that your new purchase does not inevitably <span style="background-color: white;">get
stuck in your home’s stairwell. </span>I keep a list in my wallet, that way I
have all of my dimensions with me whenever I make an unexpected stop at a thrift
store or yard sale. I also keep a small <span style="background-color: white;">zippered pouch</span> in my car that holds all of my thrifting
musts: tape measure, <span style="background-color: white;">small magnifying glass and</span> hand sanitizer. If I’m
trying to coordinate with something I already have, I take photos with my <em><span style="background-color: white; font-style: normal;">smartphone</span></em> of the fabric and colors I need to match. You
can really find some amazing treasures if you go with a goal in mind. Let's

I spotted this little </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">hooty owl</span><span style="font-family: inherit;">
staring back at me from a shelf. For $3.99 he had to come home with me. I
thought this would be a simple makeover.</span><span class="apple-converted-space" style="font-family: inherit;"> </span><em style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; font-style: normal;">Boy, was I
wrong</span></em><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; font-family: inherit;">!</span><span class="apple-converted-space" style="font-family: inherit;"> </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">My lack of spray-painting skills
has never been more obvious. The paint kept bubbling and a small section peeled
completely off! Realizing that I should have primed the surface first, I sanded
all of the peeled areas with fine sandpaper and touched it up with a few more
coats.</span><span class="apple-converted-space" style="font-family: inherit;"> </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">Avoid my paint mess by starting
with one coat of primer and then two coats of gloss spray-paint. Sand down
imperfections with 400 grit sandpaper in-between coats, once dry. </span><em style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; font-style: normal;">Whew</span></em><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; font-family: inherit;">!</span><span class="apple-converted-space" style="font-family: inherit;"> </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">I’m glad that project is over!
