Last February 25, my sister Nina treated me (as her birthday gift) to the 9th gathering of Cassiopeia Philippines at Fully Booked High Street. For a brief intro, Cassiopeia is the fandom of the Kpop group TVXQ (Dongbangshinki in Korea or Tohoshinki in Japan). They're composed of Junsu, Yoochun, Jaejoong, Changmin and Yunho until 2009 where the group split and Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong formed JYJ while Changmin and Yunho remained as TVXQ. Their fandom still remains the same though, supporting both groups and their endeavors. It's actually my first time to go to an event like this, considering I don't even go to fashion-ish events. It was a little overwhelming at first since everyone seemed to know each other and we were just newbies plus I was scared that I'll be the only old person there (I wasn't by the way. Hehehe) but I was fine as soon as I got hold of my new In Heaven CD (courtesy of Nina again) and I was just spazzed out the entire time. The event was basically the launching of JYJ's In Heaven album, a private screening, a red room exhibit and tohonight (which we didn't get to attend since we went home early). Kudos to Cassiopeia Philippines for an amazing event and thank you for the freebies! :)

Btw, watch out for the Koreanovelas My Secret Love (Sungkyungkwan Scandal in Korean) and Protect the Boss on ABSCBN! My Secret Love stars Park Yoochun while Kim Jaejoong will be in Protect the Boss. I've seen both shows and they are hilarious!

Long Weekend

Nina had one of the longest weekends ever, she didn't have class since Wednesday up until Sunday. Lucky right? We decided to have some bonding time by doing some shopping, getting our nails done and of course eating. Sorry I'm MIA in the pictures, I didn't like how my pictures turned out. No offense to my sister's photography skills, it's not her, it's me. I just feel so frumpy and bloated these days, plus I've been eating junk food nonstop. Maybe because I'm turning 27 tomorrow? I'm old!!! Gaaaaaah.

Last Saturday we attended the wedding of our cousin Cymon to his girlfriend-now-wife Gene at Lakeshore. It's our first time to go to Lakeshore at Mexico, Pampanga so of course we took it as an opportunity to take pictures but since Nina (our resident photographer) couldn't be with us since she had school that day we took it upon our brother to be our designated photographer. Luckily he was very gracious, mostly because he has a new camera and he can't wait to try it out and of course we were more than happy to oblige him.

Sunday Sessions

Our usual Sunday session which is basically dinner with the family and squishing our little pineapplemonster Andrei. He's turning 7 months old this Valentine's Day and we declared ourselves as his first Valentine dates. Life is not all peaches and cream in our pineapple land these days, our Lolo had to be hospitalized and though he's ok now we can't help but worry about him. Plus, me and Nina have been constantly throwing pity parties, mostly caused by me and what feels like a quarter life crisis. I'm hoping things will turn around since my birthday is in a few weeks and I'm currently planning a summer vacation to keep things positive.

Anyway, on a lighter note I actually went thrifting a few weeks ago and the blazer I'm wearing is one of my newest finds. I think the last time I went thrifting was back in college which is many light years ago and I haven't been going because, well, I'm always so busy and nobody wants to go with me! LOL. I finally braved thrift stores on my own and went to Makati Cinema Square where according to a very reliable source, aka Google, one of the best ukays in Makati. I can't wait to show you guys some of my finds. :)

See the first picture? That's my food-coma-smile after eating at our current favorite resto a.k.a. our "Restaurant of the Month" Kenji Tei over at Greenbelt. Me, my sisters and our dad love their spicy ramen noodles - all things spicy is something we all agree on which basically drives our mom crazy since she can't stand anything spicy. ANYWAY, before I go hungry again, this is what we wore when we watched Mamma Mia over at CCP and a post show family dinner at Greenbelt. It's worth every penny, I swear (The show, I mean) By the end of the show, almost everyone was standing up, waving their hands in the air and singing along. If only real life was a musical, everything would be awesome.

By the way, I've posted this look in lookbook in the hope of reviving my account. Please please hype my look so I won't feel like a loser. LOL. :)

Well of course since we've already posted our shoes, we might as well post our outfits right? You know what's extremely funny in these pictures? They're a bit of a lie. One wrong move of the camera and you'll see the mess that is Pat and Nina's room. Hahaha! I'm thinking we're not the only ones who've done this, trying to clean out that part of your room that'll be seen in the pictures. Or are we?? We took shots here for a change and had to push all their stuff so no one can see it on the photos. Unfortunately some still managed to elude us, such as that black laptop charger you can see a teeny bit on the bed on the left side of Nina's picture.

Yay, my exams are finally over! Can you see haggardness all over my face? This is me after consuming coffee + Bacchus + Alcohol yesterday, which was my last day of exams and of course attending the requisite post exam drinking + videoke session where we basically sang our hearts out in the hopes that our videoke grade will be the result of our real exam. I'm currently back to work after my exams which of course meant tons of pending work since I've been absent for almost over a week. Yet, here I am being a rebel and all and blogging instead of starting to do what I'm basically paid to do.

So anyway, on to the outfit. The dress is actually Nina's grad pic dress she got last November which is on sale now at Zara. Don't you hate it when you buy something for the full price then later finding out it's on sale a month after buying it? I feel like we've been cheated! Oh well. The shoes are from Aldo which I got on sale as a post Christmas gift to myself. I tripped two times while wearing this today, luckily I survived but it was extremely embarrassing because I always have this loud shriek when I trip which attracts even more unwanted attention. Gaaaah.

Ok, so I really have to work now. I'll catch up on everybody's blogs tonight. :)

These are our last photos of our Hongkong trip. Personally, I'm still hungover and lusting for another trip anywhere abroad which I hope (fingers crossed) will be this summer :) So anyway, on to the pictures:

Ocean Park

These are our pictures from Ocean Park. Apparently, Ocean Park has just been renovated and we were extremely shocked and pleasantly surprised with the changes. Too bad, we only got to go to 3 rides since each ride takes about an hour to wait and line up plus we got there around lunch time where everyone's basically shoving each other around all cranky and tired from standing. But that really dampen our spirit (we're very resilient that way) especially after riding the Hair Raiser which, I kid you not, left me with tears in my eyes! I'm actually not a big fan of roller coasters but I do have a personal rule that I have to try a ride at least once and this is probably the scariest ride I've ridden and the only one where I teared up right after. And don't even ask about what I look like in the picture (the one they take when you're riding) because it is BEYOND embarrassing. Harharhar.

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!

Happiest Place on Earth

When they say Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth, I couldn't agree even more. It's our third time to go there and every time I contemplate on packing my bags and actually working at Disneyland. The only problem is, I have no talent at all. I can't sing, I can only do "clubbing" dance (which is essentially moving my hips from left to right while bobbing my head ) and I can't speak Cantonese. Maybe I can be a mascot? Or the clean up lady?

Anyway, moving on from my unrequited dreams, these are our pictures for Day 2. There's actually a lot more pictures but these are some of our favorites. Nina is wearing a bonnet, sweater, scarf, stockings and socks from Forever 21, cape from Zara, shorts from Streetbeat, boots from Dr. Martens and bag from Kate Spade. Pat is wearing a leather jacket from Zara, sweater, skirt, scarf, tights and socks from Forever 21, bonnet (which she got for free!) from sixty eight and booties from Call it Spring. I'm wearing a coat, sweater and boots from Zara, Forever 21 skirt and leggings and gray socks from Hongkong.

Wait, I just have to tell you first the story about Pat's free bonnet. We were at the mall across the Mira Hotel walking around when we entered a store called sixty eight and this lady comes up to us and gives us all cards that we couldn't understand. Pat needed to buy a bonnet and so she picked one up and headed to the counter and presented the card that the lady gave us and when she was giving the money to the casheir, he said the bonnet was for free. Apparently, the card was for a discount of HKD98 for every purchase and since the bonnet was for HKD98 it was free. WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. EFFF. We looked at each other and grabbed more things (ok so we bought underwear since it was so cute and cheap) and had a discount of HKD98 for all our purchases. Happy happy joy joy.

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you guys enjoyed the holidays. As for us, we definitely had a good time! :) Last Dec 26 our family and family friends flew to Hongkong for a little R&R after Christmas. Here's the photos of our first day there:

Our first day was a bit of a drag since everyone was hungover from Christmas Day (not literally hungover but we did drink on Christmas eve, but doesn't everybody?) We basically just strolled around looking for some good places to eat and checked out the shopping areas. Will post more pictures soon!

The Backpack

Hi guys! It has been awhile, I know. Christmas is very busy in our house (and I assume in everyone else's!) plus I had food poisoning a few days ago (I'm ok now but the stupidity of eating a week old buko tart still lingers on) so I haven't really had to time to check our blog and update. To our new followers, welcome to our little haven!

So anyway this is what my sister Nina wore when we went Christmas shopping. Her peg is "Dora the Explorer" Hahaha! I kid, I kid. The backpack is something she's been lusting on since I think July or August so imagine her delight when she saw it over at Topshop (like Dora singing we did it, we did it, we did it YAY! at the end of the show) and I swear she was almost about to cry.

And this is me in all my food poisoning glory! Yes, I still went Christmas shopping even if I felt sick! And I drove too! I wasn't really the best company though, I was snappy and was basically one of those rude people Christmas shopping. I just felt like I had an excuse to be a grinch, you know? And I really didn't wear those shoes to the mall, I just felt like they'll look better in the picture. :) Btw, this is the last picture you'll probably see me as a blonde because (drumroll please) I changed my hair color again. This time it's just plain old dark mahogany brown something something. More on that story on our next post. Adios, bitchachos!

Bought these new babies from the Forever 21 sale a few weeks ago. I couldn't help it, they were 10% off and I couldn't decide which pair to pick so I took them both home. Thus, a huge dent in my Christmas money and I haven't even come close to finishing shopping for gifts! Gaaah! Anyway, everyone seems to be raving about the BU2 which we didn't get to go since we all had class last Friday and Saturday. :( Hopefully we can be there at the BU3 - i'm praying there'll be another one!

JYJ for Elle Korea

And the Kpop posts begin! These are some of the pictures of JYJ for Elle Korea's December 2011 issue. JYJ is composed of Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong (my bias!). They're formerly members of the band TVXQ but has left the band last 2009 (very dramatic). I am not a camping person, the idea of going to a place without indoor plumbing sends shivers down my spine. But if worst comes to worst and I REALLY have to camp, I'd like to take these boys with me plus wear a big furry jacket and rugged boots so we'll all be matchy-matchy and sing songs by the campfire. Of course the probability of that happening is slim to never, especially when I would actually die of a heatstroke if I camped in the Philippines wearing a big furry jacket.

I know Jaejoong said the word "ready" in a funny way, he doesn't know how to speak English. But he's really hot so that kind of sets off things, yes?

Now that I'm looking at the pictures, I realize that my dress is really short. I see London, I see France and I can almost see my underpants. Don't worry, I was actually wearing shorts underneath so the perverts will be pretty disappointed when they see my colorful striped "pambahay" shorts. Hehehe! Anyway, I still can't get over the print on print trend. I feel like there's a lot of prints yet to be discovered that will be great together that I want to try out. And yes, I'm still wearing my ever reliable Zara cape-ish blazer. It's my favorite, I'm sure you can tell by now!

My sister Nina on the other hand is using her new satchel that our mom bought for her. Isn't it the cutest? And the color is perfect too, just in time for Christmas! :)

New Lens

I ordered colored lens (or is it lenses? so confusing!) about a month ago and I did a test shot using my sister Nina as my muse. I know they're not that good, I'm still in the process of figuring out how to hold the lens with my left hand and the DSLR on my right. It's very difficult I tell you especially trying to hold two lens/lenses together. If anyone has some good advice or any tips on using it please let us know! How's everybody's week so far? I can't wait for the weekend to arrive, one of my bestfriends is flying home from Australia tomorrow and I am extremely ecstatic to see her since we haven't seen each other for almost two years. If I didn't have class tomorrow, I'd probably be the one at the airport waving crazily and jumping up and down like some mad person. For now, I'll settle for intruding their family dinner with my incessant chatter. Just like old times.

First of all, I’d like to say thank you to those who have tagged me in their blog awards. I’ve actually done a blogger award only once and that was way back in chictopia and honestly I’m actually not much of random-musings-about- myself type. I mean, I used to like it before but now I sort of feel shy about sharing inane things about myself which is ironic considering the idea of blogging about your clothes. So anyway, I’ll limit this post to myself as I am not sure what my sisters would want to share.

1. I have no twitter. Although my friends and sisters ALWAYS convince me to get one, I find it a bit superfluous. I do read peoples tweets, especially the celebrities that I like (LOL). The downside is I don’t get to join giveaways since you’re supposed to follow or retweet the giveaway. L

2. Me and my sisters can actually understand Bisaya and I can speak a little bit as well. Both our parents are Bisaya so it’s kind of a requisite at home.

3. As much as I love travelling, I have a bit of motion sickness. When I was a kid I used to throw up all the time but now mostly I just feel dizzy. I drink Bonamine during long car rides (no joy rides for me) or plane rides. And don’t even get me started with rollercoasters...

4. The infamous Sophie’s mom, known for its mochi ice cream and red velvet cupcakes is actually in the same apartment as where I work (if you’ve been there it’s the office above Tita Tim’s cafe on the other end of Sophie’s Mom). I used to get trinkets there everyday until I got sick (true story!) for eating too much sweets. My throat started to ache and then I eventually had a fever. Story of my life. If you pass by there and you see a blonde girl walking around, don’t forget to holla!

5. My friends don’t know that I blog. I treat this blog as my own personal haven where I get to be somebody else in other people’s eyes. Crazy right?

6. I have really bad skin. You probably don’t see it in the pictures because I edit it out. Oh, the magic of photoshop. I used to have cystic acne up until three or four years ago then I took this medicine my derma prescribed which subdued my acne. I do have acne scars until now that’s why I don’t post close-up shots. I’m supposed to have it lasered but I’m too chicken.

7. To end on a lighter note, I’ll share a strength of mine. Hahaha! I’m a really good driver/parker. I know most people say that, but my parents are EXTREMELY proud of my parking capabilities that they share it to everyone. I can park in reverse in one swift motion. Girl power to the nth level. LOL!!!

So that’s it. Wow, it’s longer than I anticipated. I think I might have overshared.

Finding Humor

Had lunch with my mom at Resorts World. You know what's funny? We ate at the same restaurant where I used to complain of their horrible service and after a year, well, their service is still really bad. Apparently they're very consistent. Why we ate there again, I have no idea. Anyway, moving on. I wore this to work and to accompany my mom to the doctor. While waiting for the doctor, I was reading a magazine and there's this article that says, "If you want to wear comfortable clothes, then just stay home." Inspiring, yes? :)
