BATH AND BODY WORKS HAS TICKED ME OFF AGAIN BUT I CAN'T STOP SHOPPING THERE, LOL: Okay so it wasn't online, then I went to the actual store searching for it only to be told they had discontinued it. Anyone who buys body fragrances from Bath and Body Works or Victoria's Secret is well aware that "discontinued" is a curse word......or in my case makes you wanna cuss. Did they do any kind of research before cancelling Wild Honeysuckle? I'm beginning to wonder if there were some Legal issues surrounding this particular scent because I could think of several scents currently on B&BW shelves that deserve to go away.

I guess now I'm stuck waiting to see if its coming back for the semiannual sale with the other fragrance misfits. Lets not forget that they dealt one blow before with this scent when they discontinued the original Honeysuckle. So when they released Wild Honeysuckle I settled and it grew on me.....and now even that's been ripped away.......guess I better hold on to what I still have......ooooooh I'm so heated I could cuss......*&S*S)S_S_S(*&A%^S&!!!!!!!!

PRENATAL VITAMINS - TAKING THEM EVEN AFTER YOU'VE GIVEN BIRTH?

So my whole pregnancy I've been taking prenatal vitamins and my nails have been super strong, yeah I know about the pregnancy alone making your nails beautiful. Last week I stopped taking them and noticed that my nails were losing color and getting that "see through" look. Again, yeah I know about the changes you go through after giving birth. I wondered if continuing to take the vitamins would bring my nails back to life and you know what, it did!! It took them back to the way they were when I was preggers!! Yaaay!! I didn't take any special brand, as a matter of fact I just took the CVS drugstore brand and alot of times they have a buy one get one free sell on their store brand items, so I saved money too. Now isn't that what we're all trying to do right about now :}

MY QUICK "NEW MOM" HAIR DO

So my baby girl is two weeks old and I still have to get up early and drop off the eight year old pumpkin at school each morning. I have no time whatsoever to fool with my hair. Since funds are tight (Christmas + new baby + credit card goals = tight budget) braids are not an option right now. My good old stand by and one of my favorite protective styles is ready to save the day.

Just ordered and received a huge bottle of aloe vera gelly and am waiting on my triple pack of rosewater. I plan on mixing in a spray bottle the rosewater, aloe vera gel and some glycerin. After a co-wash (with some Mane N Tail or V05 Strawberry moisture milk) I'll just spray the mixture onto my hair and then apply a dab of Elasta QP Mango Butter. To style I'll crunch my hair with my fingers while its still damp and then pin it up with some bobby pins and let it air dry. This is my favorite protective style for the summer but I'll be rockin' it during maternity leave and possibly for the next few months.

I'm eight weeks post and loving how thick and full my hair is and how well my curl's hold...................HOWEVER..................I do not like how thick and unmanageable my roots are right now. I could really go for a relaxer but I'm not looking forward to the bone straight look and falling curls. So what now? I'm really interested in texlaxing (intentionally under processing hair), I think it would tame my roots and still let me retain body. I'm still debating if I should buy a "kiddie perm", thin out a regular relaxer with EVOO, simply use my normal product with a shorter processing time or a combination of these techniques. Once I figure that out I'll be ready to roll!

Initially when I started to take better care of my hair by buy purchasing better products, deep conditioning weekly and stretching in between relaxers, my main goal was centered around length. Well that's out the window since I was getting no where. I reevaluated and realized I want healthy hair first. So I trimmed my hair......I mean really trimmed it. I didn't want to but holding on to uneven ends was silly. Once I evened my hair out I saw a big difference. My ends seem to feel better not just because they were freshly trimmed but they also LOOKED better and we're talking 3-4 weeks later. So now I'm sporting healthy hair and I'm retaining length....mission accomplished!!

STRETCHING - IS FOR SOME, BUT NOT FOR ME

Stretching is NOT for me. My last relaxer was October 2009 and I just relaxed this past Tuesday. I so missed my hair and the ease of wearing it out. When I was stretching, the days that I wanted to wear my hair out I had to use so much heat and so much product to get the results that I wanted and don't forget that one workout and my hair reverted. Today I had my car windows down and it felt so good to feel my hair literally blowing in the wind, to feel that breeze hit my scalp. So again, its for some but not for me, however, I will say that I can go more than 8 weeks at a time now but will NEVER stretch it to six months again.

MIZANI BUTTER BLENDS SENSITIVE SCALP RELAXER - AAAAAA+++++

Never again will I go back. I am so impressed and hooooooooked!!! Tuesday I relaxed my hair using the Mizani Butter Blends (sensitive scalp) relaxer. First I applied the Mizani Honey Shield on my previously relaxed hair, then applied the relaxer in sections. If you want to underprocess your hair then just apply some of the Honey Shield to the new growth. The consitency of the relaxer itself was a smooth, thick and creamy mixture that didn't smell like garbage. After rinsing out the product my hair felt SOFT, next I used the Mizani Phormula-7 to remove all the remaining relaxer, my hair felt even SOFTER! After I air dried then styled my hair dried it looked so healthy, lots of movement, softness galore and there was NO BREAKAGE!!!! Normally after I relax my hair I have to deep condition for days in a row just to put the moisture back in it. Not this time, after deep conditioning immediately after relaxing I was set. I'm in love and will use nothing else going forward.

OH SOOOOOO SICK OF STRETCHING

Right now guys I'm 18 weeks post and so sick of stretching. I will NEVAH stretch for this long again, sorry just don't like it. The thing I don't like about going this long is there's no versatility, I'm stuck wearing a bun or braids and when I want to wear it straight it requires way too much heat, actually more heat then I'd normally use if my hair was relaxed. I had to throw in some braids to keep me from going crazy and plan to keep these in until beginning to mid April (or until I get sick of them......I miss my hair so much man). Once I take em out I'll immediately do the Aphogee Two Step protien treatment and a deep condition with Baba De Caracol to prep for the relaxer that will follow a week later (using Mizani Butter Blends - will review that as well)......oooooooh I can't wait for April to relax!!

Needed to run some errands last saturday....and look cute!! I had been wearing a protective style all week (see the previous post) and got sick of that real quick, so I decided to give myself a heat pass. After deep conditioning overnight with Halka Baba De Caracol, I applied Lacio Lacio leave in, Salerm 21 and Kera Care Creme Press (this is a heat protectant as well) then air dried. Once air dried, I flat ironed the roots then when over with a 1 1/2 inch curler applying a little Kera care to each piece. I just simply curled everything going back then used my fingers to style. If course after the next day's workout I cowashed to give my hair a little more attention after all that heat.

Okay believe it or not these pics are 11 weeks post. After a workout I co-washed with V05 Moiture milks (strawberry), sprayed with a rosewater & glycerine mixture, applied a quarter size of Salerm 21 then slathered on some Elasta QP to smooth it out. I also applied some castor oil to my ends to help thicken them up.

This week I had to cut back on the heat because it was killing my hair. After last night's workout I co-washed with V05 Moisture Milk conditioner (strawberry), mixed with Mane N Tale then combed through with my fingers and appllied Lacio Lacio leave in, a shot of Salerm 21 B5. Finished it off with Elasta QP Mango butter mixed with a little Coconut oil, threw on a headband and pinned up the back. There was a lot less breakage and as usual my hair was soft!!! I'm a happy person again :P.

Oh and by the way....that stupid clear headband I'm wearing in the pic....well it cracked in half shortly after I took these pics. Made a note to myself buying plastic or cloth the next time.

Okay, forget about length for just a small, small moment, how about we start 2010 off with a commitment to have healthier hair that is not without moisture!! I’m always on the lookout for products that are effective and worth my money. The Jane Carter Solution line is officially on my product junky wish list. I'm thrilled and honored because yesterday I got the opportunity to speak with the line's creator who goes by the name of.....Jane Carter.

The Jane Carter Solution is a line of natural based products created for dry hair, not just ethnic dry hair, but all dry hair (more details further down). Jane has a philosophy, “hair is hair” and after over 20 years in the hair bizz, particularly as a colorist, you know she’s come into contact with just about every hair texture on this planet, straight, curly, wavy, locked, relaxed, natural, you name it. Something that frustrated her was that she didn’t have one product for all of her clients. She was tired of reaching for an ethnic product for ethnic clients, reaching for a non-ethnic product for non-ethnic clients. I think there was a tremendous need for natural products for hair that actually worked and smelled good. The old stereotype’s were that the products were boring, looked homemade and didn’t smell like anything and because there were no chemicals people thought they couldn’t possibly work nearly as well as products that had them in it… but I think that products like The Jane Carter Solution has changed that. I can tell from speaking with her that not only is she knowledgeable but she’s put a lot of thought, time and care into this line, its also the reason why I expect even greater things to come for her.

Yeah I know I cancelled my Mega-Tek order on Amazon a few weeks ago. I plan on placing another order and actually letting it go through, ha ha! I know there's no magic potion for hair growth but right now I'm looking for ways to thicken my tresses becuase they seem to be more fun to style when they're fuller. ALOE VERA GELLY

So I'm a heat monster and my hair is sick and tired of my heat-lovin' ways. I had to bun it up last night, in the past I used pro-line protein gel (you know the thick dark brown stuff) but this time I used aloe vera gelly and wouldn't you know it worked just as well? I'm always a little skeptical when I hear the words natural and product choked together......I'm so conditioned to rely on products with chemicals and am finding out now that its not always a necessary ingredient to make something work.

The aloe vera gelly was thick enough to hold back my edges lol! I was very surprised and am now wondering what it will do for a wash and go style.....so excited that I have a new natural item to add to my product junky stash.....yaaaay aloe vera gelly!!!!!

LATEST BEAUTY HAUL

Went to the beauty supply store last night before the snow storm started. I picked up a big bottle of Mane and Tail Conditioner, spray Bottle, two packs of smooth rollers, Pack of roller clips, a bar of black soap and some Elasta QP Mango Butter.

So I'm set for this snowed in weekend! I'm loving the Elasta QP Mango Butter and I cant wait to do a roller set. Once I get some rosewater and I can fill the empty spray bottle with it along with some Veggie glycerine.
