It's been a slow road to recovery (not quite there yet, but doing much better). I'm really, really missing my new hobby, journaling. My sister had been wanting to get into it for a while and did so last year. She's always been a big stationery buff, notebooks and stickers are definitely her thing. We watch a lot of Korean journal videos on YouTube (pretty much daily) and the thought of trying it myself has been bubbling away, until I took the plunge last month and now I'm completely addicted! It's so much fun and for me, I haven't found something truly enjoyable and manageable, in decades. Obviously I love being creative, it's in my blood, but my M.E. has pretty much destroyed that over the years. I realise I'm posting two LOTD's back to back (<a href="https://pinkhairedprincess.blogspot.com/2026/09/lotd-week-4.html" target="_blank">Week 4 here</a>), but the accompanying Life Lately post is going to combine both weeks as I didn't do much nor do I have many notes for this period. The previous week I'd taken my first trip out of the house all year, so that took it's toll and I needed time to recover, hence why I wasn't capable of doing a whole lot. Things in my current life (my LL/LOTD posts are months behind), have also taken a bit of a turn. I'm suffering from a herniated/slipped disc at the moment, which is extremely debilitating and painful. I'm not getting much sleep because I can't move into a more comfortable position, I'm needing my walking stick <i>and</i> assistance to go to the bathroom in the adjacent room, I'm still in the same pyjamas from days ago, all in all, I'm feeling pretty rough. I've had this several times over the past few years (I'm inactive, overweight and sit for long periods of time, so prone to it), so I know the drill now, but it's just so exhausting going through the process and being so reliant on help for absolutely everything. I can't see me being well enough for 'shower day' tomorrow (I can't stand straight at all or stand hunched over without holding onto something for dear life), so I'm going to feel even more rotten by then, but it can't be helped. I thought it would give me more time to blog, but my concentration is disrupted constantly by the pain or falling asleep! There shouldn't be too much disruption to posting, as this is one of the reasons I'm posting delayed content, so if something happens, it doesn't push me back too much (obviously things like taking photos currently is out of the question, but I can work with what I have for the time-being). I wanted to post it last week, but I was busy doing other things and am trying not to beat myself up too much if blogging isn't as punctual as it should be. Health-wise I'm at a point where I have to choose one thing or another, I can't do both, so I made that choice and I enjoyed what I was doing. I'm genuinely so happy to have a few blog posts completed already, I wasn't sure I'd manage it, so I'm not putting pressure on myself to do more than I can. I hope you're all coping as best as you can with the heat (I was actually in tears watching the fires on the news). It <i>had</i> been cooler here recently, but unfortunately back to sweltering the past few days. I know we're nowhere near the hottest in the country, but whether it's 25 or 35, it's all "too hot" for me. I can't function, I can't move and sleeping is awful. Let's go! <br><div><p><b>What I've been doing;</b> I finished this colouring page from a book I got in my Christmas stocking. I decided to just use one colour on this (Venetian Red 021), which is a bright red-coral. I realise I'm several posts behind, I knew it would happen. I have such good intentions, but clearly am unrealistic about what I can manage! I've bought almost the entire Dior colour collection this year (well, I pretty much do every year actually). Last year I shared my <a href="https://pinkhairedprincess.blogspot.com/2021/12/festive-beauty-day-8.html" target="_blank">Diorific nail polishes</a> that I've collected from Holiday collections over the years, as that's the format they tend to come in. Weirdly however, this year, the nail colours are in regular <b>Dior Vernis</b> packaging. The overall colour theme is midnight blue and gold with stars, so the silver topped bottles are a bit out of place with no reference to the rest of the collection, other than the very appropriate names and the colours...kinda.

This is the <b>Dior Rouge Dior Minaudiere</b>, Case & Lipstick Holder from their <b>2021 Atelier Of Dreams</b> Collection. For years now, as part of the Dior gift sets, there's been a case with lipsticks. The case were usually zipped, leather-look with patterning or branding on the front and many people DIY'd these into proper handbags as they didn't come with straps. For 2021, Dior not only made it into a proper bag with strap, but elevated it into one of the most extra makeup items I own and I absolutely love them for it.

Today's blog post is brought to you through plentiful procrastination via excessive photos and unnecessary anguish. If I spent as long actually working as I did worrying about photos and blog posts not being perfect, I'd have finished all the way up until Christmas by now! I take too many photos, way too many photos (I know that, but I also take rubbish photos, so hope there will be one gem in amongst a bad bunch), so it's hard to go through them all and get rid of what I don't need, it all takes time. The item I have today is from a collection I bought a lot from (so literally hundreds of photos) and I actually started editing the photos for Festive Beauty 2021, but never had time to finish. I still don't, so I'm bringing you one item today instead. I have so many folders to go through and so many pictures I want to retake or swatches I need to get and there's never any daylight in Winter (why do I always forget that?), so yeah, I chopped and changed my mind numerous times today and decided I'd bring you this, so here goes.
