Spring Wreaths

Easter is approaching fast and I’m not even done with my holiday décor! Oh well, guess I’ll just have to keep it up longer…LOL!

What you need:

Screamers or ribbon

Cardboard or poster board

Two round things, on smaller than the other (I used plates)

Pencil or marker

Scissors

Embellishments (flowers, buttons, whatever you’d like to use)

Glue

Directions:

1. Trace your large and small circle onto the poster board or cardboard.

2. Grab your scissors and cut out the circles.

3. Pop out that center circle, and voila! You have a wreath form!

4. Grab some streamer, dab a little glue and start wrapping it around the wreath form, like in the photo below.

5. Wrap your streamer until you’re back at your starting point, then cut it off of the spool, leaving a tail. The side with the tail is the back of your wreath, and you want to tuck that tail through the closest loop of streamer and glue
6. Turn your wreath back over. If you used wide ribbon like I did, your last loop is not going to look so hot, but don’t despair! A couple of fabric flowers will fix that right up.
7. Arrange the flowers in one corner of your wreath, and glue them into place.

8. That’s it you’re done!

What you'll need:

Graham Crackers

Squeezable frosting

Edible grass (Target)

Peeps

Candies (for decorating)

Leprechaun Trap!

Last night we finshed up Little Misses leprechaun trap. I love this idea! What a fun why to let the little ones enjoy the holiday, right! I can't wait to see all mischief our little leprechaun has up his sleeve.

Hello! Are you ready for another month of photo-taking-fun? I am. FATMUMSLIM has posted MARCH’s challenge. I'm ready and actually really enjoying these challenges. How about you?

Here's how to play:

♥ Starting on March 1st take a photo each day with inspiration from the prompt. For example prompt 1 is 'up', so take a photo looking up. Or of the word 'up'. Or something that lifts your mood 'up'. It it totally up to you how you want to interpret it.

♥ Once you've taken your photo you can share it on Instagram, Facebook {on your own profile or business page}, Twitter, Flickr, your blog, Pinterest, Tumblr or even just keep them in a folder on your desktop. If you're sharing on Twitter or Instagram add the hashtag #Marchphotoaday so others can find your photos too.

Note: For day 20 you'll see that it says 'before / after'. Again, you can interpret this however you like. I thought it would be cool for people to use an app like picframe to show two photos in one. It could be a meal before eating and the plate after. It could be anything! If you don't have any iPhone or don't want to buy an app - just use your imagination and either take two photos or work it into just one.

Valentine’s Day Wreath Tutorial

Ok friends, this tutorial comes with a warning. I LOVE the way this wreath turned out, but I do want to give fair warning that it took 24+ hours and over 400 rosettes to fill a 16” wreath.

Now with that out of the way, let’s get this tutorial rolling!

What you need:

Wreath {mine was 16"}

Glue gun

Lots of glue

8.5x11 sheets of felt {believe I used about 77 sheets}

Scissors

1 1/2 yards sheer ribbon

******************************************************************

The how to's:

1. Cut your felt into a square. Mine are 4x4 inch squares.

2. You can round the deges to your square or just cut out a circle.

3. cut your circle in a spiral.

4. Next you'll want to take the outside end of your felt circle and roll it toward the the center.

5. Dab glue on the bottom of the felt to secure.

You've made a rosette!

6. Dab glue on the bottom of your rosette and place onto the wreath.

Just continue the first step until your wreath is covered the way you want.

6 hours in...

12 hours in...

18 hours in...

24 hours in...and we are finally done! YA!

Hang up and enjoy!

{FREE PRINTABLE} Santa Letters

Many of us help our kids with their specially made letters for Santa Claus or take them to see Santa himself. We see joy in their eyes and grins on their faces as images of Santa reading their letter races through their little minds.

This year I have made two letters to Santa. One in full color and one the kiddos can color in themselves. Enjoy!

As promised yesterday, today's post is my "Giving Thanks" banner. I simply took coffee filters, doilies, cupcake liners, and some chip boards to make it. I added some white tulle and TADA...all done!

{DAY 3} Fall/Thanksgiving Wreath

This past weekend I was able to tackle a few of the Fall/Thanksgiving projects I’ve had on my to-do list for a while. One of the projects I wanted to tackle this year was a DIY fall wreath. This is a great alternative to those premade wreaths sold for $30 or more. I bought all the supplies from Michael’s.

{DAY 2} Our Thankful Tree

The Thankful Tree:
This is a great way to display what your little ones are thankful for this year. Grab some tree branches, place them in a pretty vase or whatever you’d like, get creative. Have your little one(s) cut out some leaf shapes on colored paper or patterned paper. Have them or you if your little one is too young to write what they are thankful for. TADA, a beautiful thankful tree!

{DAY ONE} Thanksgiving Count Down

Happy Monday my friends! Hope you all had a great weekend! Since I’m finally starting to feel better, Little Miss and I are back on the crafting table. We are hoping to do a craft a day {we’ll see how this really works out LOL} till Thanksgiving, kind of like a Thanksgiving countdown I guess. I’ll be posting them as we finish…YAY!

Cookie Pilgrim Hats:
We made something like this for Halloween, I’m sure you saw them all over the blogging world, the witch’s hats?! So I thought, hey we could totally make these for thanksgiving too, thinking I was really being creative only to find out that everyone is doing these already...LOL! Oh well, at least they are fun, simple, and supper YUMMY!!

What you need:

Frosting

Miniature peanut butter cups

1 package mint Oreo Fudge Crèmes

Candy of choice for buckles

Place a dab of frosting in the middle of your cookie

Holding the bottom of your peanut butter cup, position over frosting on the cookie

With frosting form the hatband and crown.

Add your choice of candy for the buckle

Enjoy!!

{PRINTABLES} Do You BOO?

A fun family favorite during the month of October is "boo-ing" our neighbors. It makes for a fun night of activity. Making treats, attaching a fun poem, sneaking around in the dark ringing doorbells while giggling hysterically and finally running away like mad after making the drop, all the while hoping not to get caught.

Oh yes…it definitely makes for some fun family nights!

{RE POST} Lunch Box Notes

I posted these a couple months back and thought with all the kiddos starting school I should repost them.

Wanna make lunch more fun for your kiddos? I thought so! I have always loved this idea, so I came up with some cute and fun notes to slip in their lunch boxes. It’s a great why to encourage them for that BIG test or just simply let them know you’re thinking of them. The extra little treat will bring a smile to your little scholar’s face for sure!
