Summer Look I ~ Yellow & Green

Hi my luvlies,

Sorry for not posting here for a long while now but I was very busy studying for my finals.

This make-up look was made during my finals but I hadn't any chance of posting it.
It's an amazing look for summer especially if you love some pop of colour :)

Here is my first look I came out with using mainly my coastal scents 88 matte colour pallette.

I'm sorry but I forgot which other products or which main colours I used from the pallette.

Body Shop Make-up Brushes

As I mentioned before Body Shop is one of my top fave shops.

And I have a good reason why :)

These are my Body Shop Make-up Brushes, they have been with me for around 5 years now and they're still rockin' haha.

So these were my first babies that I bought when I was getting into make-up ( I know you all remember that time when you would have survived with an eyeliner/mascara/lipgloss/sponge tip applicator and so on..)

woow thinking about it, that was so long ago

( you're thinking of your collection right now aren't you haha gotcha )

So back to the brushes, here in Malta there is no mac store ( I'm mentioning mac because when I was always surfing utube all the make-up gurus I watched where mac fanatics) so when I was getting bored of the sponge tips and the applicators that came with the make up I realised that it was time for a mission to find some good make-up brushes.

The magic happened when once I went into Body Shop to buy myself a new lip balm.

And there in the middle of the shop was this stand with brushes aaa I can't explain my excitement....

I ended buying all of the above, a sponge and an eyecurler which I forgot to add in this picture :/

I am going to show you close photos of these brushes individually, but I'll be reviewing one or two of them in a separate blog ( which I can't absolutely live without and yes my make up brushes collection has increased I own the complete set of sigma brushes)

So here is the eyeshadow brush

it's flat with a round top it works well with pigments and to press on eyeshadow

Here is the blending brush if I remember well since the writing on the handle has faded away

It's dense with a round top
and quite flat from the sides this makes it the best blending brush because it's so precise..

The Blush brush

I don't actually use it as a blush brush, but it works wonders to contour/bronze your cheekbones

It is also flatted out which makes applying bronzer accurately and dense to blend out.

The Powder Brush

It's quite dense and so so soft. It works for applying powder and even for blending bronzer all over the face

(the bits hanging out are my fault since I stored it incorrectly)

Home Fragrance - Incense sticks

As I have said before I love anything that has to do with a good smell, it varies from perfume to food to candles and so forth. So this Easter I received a gift , it's a pack full of different incense sticks as you can see below

The pack contains six different scented packs ,

Jasmine -Floral incense sticks

Lavender- Floral incense sticks

Violet - Floral incense sticks

Red Rose- Floral incense sticks

Sandalwood - Exotic incense sticks

White Mask - Floral incense sticks

Each pack has this package inside

which contains 20 incense sticks

So a little info on incense sticks:

Light the top part until strikes of smokes begin to come out
Put it somewhere upright, I like to insert the bottom part in a candle and my mum sometimes puts them in pot porri.
They are safer then candles since there is no flame.
it will instantly fragrant your home
Scent-wise it's much more powerful than any home fragrance spray, candle or oil even if not lit. It will scent all your home and I am not exaggerating.
I don't recommend lighting it in a closed room especially your bedroom because of it's powerful smell becomes too over powering and unbearable especially for those who like me suffer from asthma and allergies.

Overall remark if you want to scent your house quickly but do not want it to vanish these are the perfect thing for your home and although the stick will burn out after 30 minutes the fragrance will remain and become subtle after time.

I love accessories but my problem is I forget to wear them, either because I forget what I have or I wouldn't be able to find them. I went to Claire's and they have these lovely earring holders which where absolutely beautiful but I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to organise all of my jewelry in one place so I did not buy them, but if you have any ideas or a blog on your collection please let me know :)

Fyrinnae Haul Part 1

A few weeks ago I ordered some pigment eyeshadows and a primer from Fyrinnae. This was my first order from them and I didn't even know the existed until I saw a post by the sweet Morena from the Daily Swatch which is found here. I think they only took a week to arrive here which is quiet fast.
The thing I loved most about this website is that you get the chance to order samples which is only $2. In fact I ordered 12 samples and also a sample of their primer which is supposed to make the colours and glitters pop more. I don't have anything negative to say about this company and I'm looking forward to order from them again. I almost forgot to mention that they sent me a free sample =)

So here they are I went a little crazy on the colours although I'm quiet a neutral colour lover but with all the colours they offer I promising you it will be very difficult for you to decide.

I'm going to post soon the other part of the haul

Body Shop Haul =D

Hope all of you have been fine :)

Yesterday I went in a lovely, tranquil, awesome place called tadadada ... BODY SHOP

aaa how much I love this place, I'm a type of person that loves anything that has to do with showery/bath things and here in Malta we don't have the privilege of a Lush shop so the quiet nearest thing to that is Body Shop.

Ever since I was a child I used to go in this shop with my aunt and she used to always buy me a product. I remember having almost all the lipbalms body shop offer... yeahhh I was a lipbalm junkie ;)

SO onto the haul...

I choose 3 products

I've never tried hair products by body shop but I've been hearing loads of good things about the banana shampoo and conditioner and I needed a soft, gentle shampoo and conditioner for my hair which has been very dry at the ends and for my hair extensions. I have not yet tried them but I'm going to do so tonight and may even review them later when I have my own opinion on them so I'm not going to go in detail about the smell, texture etc

and than I got this Body wash

in green apple, I did not need this but I will tell you later why I got it. The smell is an amazing crispy fresh green apple scent exactly like it's name states. I haven't used this one yet so I'm not sure about the lather and the moisture it leaves onto the skin but I have used the strawberry and even the musky one and they lather pretty well.

I need to state that these are discontinued products so it might be kind of hard to find. These babies were in a basket mixed with other scented body washes which are also discontinued and where on offer that if you buy 3 you will only pay €10, that is why I added the green apple body wash, I thought maybe thats not of a big of a bargain but when I read the receipt it stated that every one of them retails for €5.50 so I got more than one of them for free which is awesome =)

Ebay nail glue battle

Hi guys,

So today I'm going to be reviewing two ebay nail glue, as I said in the Uv gel post linked here

The brush glue

The tip glue

Application

Brush glue - It's easy to apply, it's like applying nail polish and is also good for applying rhinestones,etc on your nail.

Tip glue - It's has a more precise application for you nail tip, the only con about this is that you have to squeeze the bottle very hard especially after a lot of uses.

Stickiness

Brush glue - this nail glue is a disaster, when you apply it on your nail tip and than put it on your nail, one has to stay 20 seconds pressing it without the slight motion or else it will not stick.

Tip glue - whole process takes less than 5 seconds to dry and stick on your nails.

Total number of uses

Brush glue - 10g for a whole set I used half of the bottle. I think you can use up the whole bottle because I haven't seen yet any hardening of the glue, which is why it is not sticky at all.

Tip glue -3g used for more than 10 whole sets, and still a quarter full but the only problem is that the tip is not working anymore since some glue dried in it so you have to remove the tip and use a brush to extract the glue.

Price

Price is not always the same from ebay obviously but tip glue always retails cheaper than brush glue.

Messiness

Brush glue - If you're going to use this be very careful and use an old cloth or newspaper cause it will spill very easily and it has a large opening so you can easily ruin your desk as I did :/

Tip glue - Always take precaution but with this glue it very precise and for the glue to come out you must press the bottle hard so if it falls over nothing will come out .

Overall

Buy the tip glue!! haha this was so easy to choose. I have 5 bottles of brush glue and don't know what to do with them, but I'll be using them for only rhinestones or other nail art.

Hi luvlies,

It's been more than two weeks since I did my last post and so much has happened. I wasn't able to blog since my mother had a major operation and I had to take care of her, and while my mum was recovering in hospital my boyfriend's grandfather died. I was so stressed that I needed quiet sometime to recover everything and needed to be right next to someone I love and help him get through this tough times, and after that I needed time to get back together and start back to my daily routine which is so hectic. But enough said I'll be back to you soon.

Foxylocks extensions :DD

Hi guys,

Today I'm going to give you a brief review on foxylocks extensions which I received in my mail last Monday. So here's my story,

my hair has been in a bob length or shorter since I was around 13 years and now I'm 19 going on 20. I tried to let my hair grow but I always ended up cutting it again since I remembered the high maintenance my hair needed when it was long. Mind you when I was 13 I didn't know the magic a straightener could do to your hair and how beautiful my wavy hair looked like, I always used to put it in a bun so that it was out of the way and neat silly me... Another reason for cutting it is that when it is shoulder length I find my face looking like taller, I don't know how to explain but that's what my brain tells me haha. I did my hair in every bob style possible so obviously I grew tired of the bob style and I wouldn't make it grow

so I decided I wanted to do the Frankie Sandford famous pixie haircut.

at first I hated my hair like this but than it slowly grew on me and loved it. That was last July but from there it began to grow and I decided that I'm going to grow my hair out long enough to do whatever hairstyle I'm in the mood for. Now my hair usually grows very fast but its already been 7 months and it hasn't grown to a decent bob yet. Here is how my hair looks like right now.

I'm hating the shorter side of my hair and it's been driving me crazy. Now I've never dreamed of using extensions or that but I couldn't wait any longer I want LONG hair. So I did my research and I ended up in difficulty between LUXY hair extensions and Foxylocks extensions. Price wise they were nearly the same, one came from Canada and the other from England so I figured that it would be better if I bought it from England and another thing is that there are more reviews on youtube about the Foxylocks than there are on Luxy. I saw many different reviews but I could pick out the similarities, there were good reviews and bad reviews but I still decided to buy them and I will give you my opinion later on, after I've tested out all sorts of things on them. I decided I wanted to buy them since January but everytime I try to order they are out of stock. I sent them a picture with my hair colour and they matched me to caramel blonde. So on the 20 th of February when I saw that they are available I ordered the deluxe one in caramel blonde. Exactly one week after they arrived, that was super fast and I was so happy. I instantly knew that the extensions colour was to light and did not match my hair at all but they can be coloured and I'm even thinking of colouring my hair the extensions's colour instead of the other way round but I'm going to wait and see. Here are some pics of me with the extensions and you can see exactly what I'm talking about but I still love them and they were so easy to put on, the only things I have to do is match my hair and trim the extensions so they blend better with my hair. :DD

Perfume of The Week

Hi lovelies,

So today I came up with the idea of reviewing a perfume once a week. I've always loved perfumes, when I was little I used to be intrigued by the perfume bottles my mother owned and not by the whole concept of a perfume. Slowly I began to explore all my mum's perfume scents and started choosing my favourite scents and what I hate about the others. Now I've been collecting perfumes for around 5 years and it's always growing and growing :)

How to make UV gel Nails

Hi luvlies :)

A week ago or so I posted about UV gel nails and promised to do a post about how to do UV gel nails yourself... So I kept my promise and I'm going to start first by showing you the things you're going to need and than write the process step by step, don't worry it's easy if I can do it so can you :) I'm not an artsy or creative person so for all of you that think it's impossible, it actually is and the satisfaction you take when some one tell's you wow pretty nails and you respond that you actually did them is great :D

So here are the things you're going to need. Basically all bought from ebay for a very cheap price:

UV gel clear

White tips

Clear Tips

Uv Lamp- mine is 36 W which consists of 4 lamps so the nail dries faster and better but 9 W lamp can also be used :)

Nail Glue with brush

Nail glue without brush

Small flat brush for precision

Nail File

Cutical clipper

Nail Clipper

Antiseptic Wipes

Now the easy steps for your pretty nails:

Prepare your nails

Make sure your nails are clean by using antiseptic wipes or antiseptic gel (this will prevent your nails from fungus or bacteria build up)
Push your cuticles and cut them with a cuticle clipper (this will make the nails last longer since it wouldn't lift)
File your nails until they look mate and they are not shiny ( this will make the gel and tip stick to your nail and prevent the oils from your nails to lift the nail)

False nail Application

Choose between clear or white tips according to your following nail art.
Choose the size for each nail (usually there are approximately 10 nail sizes once you choose the sizes write them down somewhere so that you can skip this step the next time :) )
Glue them to your nails. I prefer putting the glue on the tips then press them on the nail.( I'll be doing a review about the glue and which one is better and the different techniques) Also when doing nails use a cloth or something to cover the surface of where you are working because it is quite messy and it stains. Last Monday the brush glue was open and accidently fell over and spilled all over my boyfriend's desk if you by any chance know how to remove it and is kind enough to share please comment :(
Use the nail clipper and choose your desired length and cut
File the top to smooth the edges
File the nail again so the bottom part of the tip is thin as possible and is smoothed out with your natural nail ( it will help in the next process so that the Uv gel sets equally)

UV Gel Application

Dip your brush in the gel and pat it out on your nail like you do with nail polish. ( don't worry if your nail is blotched a little bit it will eventually smooth out, also try to stay away from your cuticle line so it doesn't lift )
Put your hand in the UV lamp and leave it for 2-4 minutes (my lamp has an automatic timer and it switches off after 2 minutes therefore to make sure my nails are cured completely I leave them there again for 2 minutes). Don't worry if your nails still look gooey and sticky after curing we will get to that part later.
Repeat this part again.

Nail Art

If you're feeling crafty you can make some nail art using nail polish, glitters, rhinestones, dried flowers etc ( I'll be showing you my nail art stuff in another post )
If not you can choose the white tips and VOILA you have french nails :) I recommend trying these at your first trial since its easier and you will have already some courage for the next time..

Final Part

When I usually do nail art I put on another layer of UV gel and cure it again so to conceal my nail art but that is up to you. I prefer layering since it would make the nail thicker and stronger.
To remove the sticky top part all you need is an antiseptic wipe and rube your nails ( I tried nail remover also but I found antiseptic wipes better)
Optional you can do a top coat it can either be uv or any normal top coat you usually use for your nail polish. I skip this step since the UV gel has already that nice shine :)

That's all :) I'm not a professional and have never done a course on gel nails, I learnt doing them from practice and following some youtube videos although uv gel nails are not that popular on youtube and it's very difficult to find one :/ I hope I managed to help you out and encouraged you to stop spending so much money on nail technician when you can do them whenever you want :D Thanks for reading and please follow :)

Teavana haul

Hi guys :)

Today my post is for all the teaholics that are fed up of drinking the 'normal' tea ( the teabags). I'm going to show you my teavana haul and in another post I will review them. I'm going to give you a little bit of a background about the website and customer service of teavana.

So I ordered my haul on 13th January and I was sent a confirmation email the day after. This period was when they were having a sale so stay alert for their sales cause they have very good sales especially with teas. When I read the email I noticed that the address wasn't correct and wasn't the way I wrote it down on their website and I checked on their website and there was my correct address. My postal code wasn't correct and I panicked a little knowing that in my country postal service is not the best and packages go missing sometimes. So I replied to the same email and waited. (I forgot to tell you that a week before ordering I sent an email asking about some of their products and another email about postage and have since then never received a reply.) After 5 days I was sent another my package was shipped. I panicked and sent them another email instantly, another day passed and I finally received an email. It was very blunt and impolite saying that it was all my fault and that they have no fault and that they did not receive the email I sent them and that they couldn't change the address. I stayed calm and asked them for a tracking number since they state on the website that once your package is shipped you would receive a tracking number. I waited for 2 whole weeks without a reply, until I received a letter that my package has arrived and I had to collect it from the department of customs, thank god :) I was so relieved that it arrived safely and I'm so happy with the things I ordered I couldn't wait to start trying them but I still did not manage to try everything :'( so as I said before I' m going make a review about the teas, the favorites and hopefully not about the ones I don't recommend getting.

My order had came to the total of $112 including shipping and here's what I got :

The perfect Tea Maker

UV gel nails

Hi guys :)

So today I'm gonna talk about UV gel nails. I have had my nails done at a nail technician for about 1 and a half years. I used to go every 4 weeks to get a refill. I have had both uv gel and acrylic (since I changed my nail technician) which have a different type of application and I used to prefer the acrylic since they used to last me for approximately 3 weeks while the uv gel nails used to last for 1-2 weeks. It was becoming expensive and the nail art wasn't anything special that I couldn't practise and do.

So I started searching and using utube to see tutorials, how to them myself, and I decided to opt for the acrylic nails. I wanted to start with basic and searched for cheap alternatives on ebay and found a pack that included the acrylic, its liquid, brush cleaner, nail cutter, buffer and white nail tips. When it arrived I started to experiment with it day after day. I also manged to do a full set but after an hour they started falling out and they weren't very neat. The surface wasn't smooth since acrylic is a powder and u mix it with a liquid which makes it solidify and pack it on your nails. After a whole month I lost hope on the acrylic but I started searching again for a better alternative.

I must say I did not find a lot of videos on utube about uv gel and I must I hit Jackpot :) I also bough a 36W uv-lamp since it would have been impossible to do them without it. They came out perfect from the first trail I was so happy. I started doing a basic french nail and than started slowly trying different types of nail art since my boyfriend bought me a whole lot of nail art stuff such as glitters, shells etc which I'll show in another post...

I tried glitters, tinsils, dried flowers and tried creating some nail art with nail pens. Below are two nail art they are not very clear since I took them with my phone..

Essence haul :D

Hi guys :))

So today I made a haul yeyyy :P All products are by essence.

I've been introduced to this company I think 3 years ago. I remember I bought a nail polish which was a red colour and a lip gloss plumper. I used to love the lip gloss plumper (I don't know exactly what it's name was), I used to use it above another lipgloss since at that time I was more of glossy person than lipsticky :p and it would make my lips so full and pretty. It used to tingle in the beginning but it was quite bearable but after sometime I had to throw it out since it started smelling weird and the tingly feeling became more like a burning feeling. I think it's discontinued because I did not see them on the stall I'm not quiet sure though :/ Another product I loved and I'm still loving is the xxxl shine lipgloss if you love frosty colours you will definately love these.

Where I live we don't get the chance to have a mac, nars, urban decay or any other famous make-up companies, we only have drugstore make-up available pfffft tough luck right? But I'm still able to buy those brands through online shopping thank god :DD. Essence has very cheap products compared to the other drugstore make-up like rimmel, maybelline, revlon etc... and after surfing the internet to learn more and read reviews about the company I could also feel a hype about this company since it was not only about the price its also about the quality so here's what I bought to try out. the following are pictures I found on the internet since I can't find my camera and my webcam isn't giving the swatches justice so I will post the swatches later on :

So like any other girls I go through phases where I love doing or buying things.

CANDLES, mmmmmmmmmmmm I <3 loads of different scents but bakery and sweet scents are my all time fave..
MAKE-UP, well I don't know how I did not mention this in the first place maybe cause I'm so excited to post my first post haha. I love experimenting with make-up and also the best retail therapy for me is buying make-up, it makes me sooooo HAPPY especially when I buy a whole lot and I have a week or more playing with them like a 5 year old playing with her dolls but anyways I'm sure you all understand that feeling.
TEA, I'm also a teaholic it's the best feeling in the world especially in winter staying in bed with a hot cup of tea and a book in hand :)) I've recently bought some items from Teavana which I'll be reviewing soon so stayed tuned if you're a tea loverrr...
UV GEL NAILS, I do them on myself and on other family members and friends. I love buying nail art stuff since there are so many things you can choose from and things you can create with them. I have a nail art haul and some other stuff I bough from ebay to review. And also I'll be showing you some of the nail art I created and the whole story why I started doing them myself and also some tutorials but I'll leave that to another post.
COOKING, as you may have already seen I <3 experimenting with everything especially with food, my specialities go from healthy salads with some twists to make it more bearable and delicious to chocolate truffles, red velvet cupcakes and what ever a sweet tooth may dream of. That I'll have time to talk about later on and show you step by step my recipes :D
