The video got 3.8 million views as of the moment since it was uploaded last December 29, 2011.

It's nothing but a girl making her eyebrows dance to the tune of the music playing in the background. Though the video is just 36 seconds long, it has gained massive popularity that prompted the girl to create a Facebook Page and a follow-up video.

In the follow--up video, she reveals that she is from Australia and she is half-Filipina. Her mom is Filipina and her dad is Australian. She's 13 years old.

Watch Ramgen Revilla and Janelle Manahan Bathroom Video Scandal

In what seems to be a holiday of video scandals, our next entry is from former couple Ramgen Revilla and Janelle Manahan.

Scandal videos are generally frowned upon and disliked by the public. But what makes this one particularly tasteless and inappropriate is the fact that one of the people in the said bathroom video is dead. And he died of a brutal murder, nonetheless. The partner, on the other hand is still healing physically and emotionally.

The video was up for what seems to be a few hours before the original copy was taken down. But knowing the Internet, several copies are probably being made and uploaded as of the moment. It is not unlikely that you can find and watch the Ramgen Revilla and Janelle Mahana bathroom scandal in a few days or even a few hours.

In the next chapter to the Rhain Ramos and Mo Twister abortion story, a video of the couple was uploaded on YouTube just days before Christmas day. The original video was entitled "me and mo mov" implying that Rhian made or uploaded the video. It was uploaded by YouTube user "cutieboi22" on December 20.

The video shows the then-couple Mo Twister and Rhian Ramos in bed joking with, teasing and kissing each other.

Already, the original video has different reactions. Most of them, however, are directed against Mo Twister and saying that he, himself uploaded the video.
A video of him joking around American customers on the job surface on YouTube and made cicrles on different Social Networking platforms.

Rivera drew the irk of the Internet community especially his colleagues in the BPO industry. Numerous derogatory remarks are seen on his YouTube video comments including homophobic slurs. He, however is not fazed. In fact, he (presumably) created a Facebook Page to address his detractors. He even posts pictures of his "haters" and makes fun of them.

The "About" section of his Page reads:

ENTERTAINING HATERS. READING LOUSY DEATH THREATS. I HAVE LOTS OF HATERS. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, MAKE YOUR WORDS REFLECT WHO YOU ARE.

In the said Facebook Page, Rivera even stated that he is proud of his videos:

I want to be the most famous call center agent in the world. I'm proud of my videos!

Furthermore, he also stated that he is ready to face the consequences of his actions:

MY PRE-CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FOR ALL: i shall face the consequences of these "lousy", "cheap", "papansin", "katangahan", "kabobohan" and [place-your-derogatory-term-of-choice-here] actions. i am after all an adult. and i hope that you people will also do the same---be responsible for the consequences of the choices you make, big or small. Merry Christmas everyone!

Felipe Gozon Interview At The 22nd Philippine Ad Congress
The Q and A sessions are really interesting because the Ad Congress organizers swapped interviewers across the three interviews. Korina Sanchez (ABS-CBN) interviewed Atty. Felipe Gozon (GMA 7), Mike Enriquez (GMA 7) interviewed Mr. Manny Pangilinan (TV5).

Unfortunately, I don't have Atty. Felipe Gozon's speech on the 22nd Philippine Ad Congress but I do have Gabby Lopez III and Manny Pangilinan's speech.
Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III Speech At The 22nd Philippine Ad Congress (November 2011)
ABS-CBN head honcho Gabby Lopez III delivers his speech at the 22nd Philippine Ad Congress. This year's ad congress is praised for being able to get the "big three" of Philippine TV -

Gabbly Lopez III for ABS-CBN
Atty. Felipe Gozon for GMA
Manny Pangilinan for TV5
Manny Pangilinan's Speech At The 22nd Philippine Ad Congress (November 2011)

Manny Pangilinan talks about the future of media and advertising in the Philippines. He highlights how his network of companies can bring forth progress and advancements on how the Filipino people create, find and consume media.

Worth reading also is Mr. Carlo Ople's article on the "gems" of this speech which are:

** Switching to the Cloud. “Go and SIM no more.”
** Pay for online content via Meralco or Maynilad
** “Content to follow the user on demand, like e-mail. Primetime is out, anytime is in.”
** Pay for Performance in Traditional Media
** Tone of Humility
He was a suspect in the infamous Vizconde Massacre.

First of all, Merry Christmas to him. I feel happy for him and his family who will finally be able to celebrate Christmas with him.

But was it right to dismiss the case after everything that has happened?

The Webbs presented physical evidences that Hubert was in the US when the crime happened. From sometime in 1991 to sometime in 1992. But the prosecution countered that he could have gone back to the PI and back again to US in that time frame. Why wasn't evidence presented to show this? Wouldn't there be records of these travels?

It seems that all they were holding to were the words of an inconsistent, former drug user. Way to go, local justice system!

Where is Jessica Alfaro now?

Am I siding with the Webbs? No.

Am I siding with Lauro Vizconde? No.

I cannot side with anyone because no significant physical evidence was used in the final decision.

In this scenario, everyone is literally the loser! - whether Hubert et al were really guilty or not!

Mr. Lauro Vizconde et al - whether Hubert is guilty or not, he comes out as a loser because no one is convicted yet. But as to why he is so insistent that Hubert and his group committed the crime, I don't know. It's not like he saw them do it or he has concrete physical evidence that the courts can work on.

The Webbs - If they are innocent, I feel for them. Hubert lost his young adulthood. Instead of him building a career and starting a family, he spent his days in prison with only him knowing if he deserved to be in there or not. If they are guilty, then let God's judgement be passed upon them. Nothing is unseen from Above.

You, me and everyone else - yes, we all lost. We were so consumed by this trial by publicity only to be let down by careless authorities who handle the evidences. If these high profile evidences are not taken care of, what more for those 'regular' cases?

But hey, at least some people are happy with the decision. Let's just put it at that.

A Dangerous Mind On ABS-CBN During Holy Week - Too Noynoy-ish for me

I remember when I was a kid, we had nothing leave for a few masses/Lenten activities and religious movies on TV. I used to think it was boring.

Now they just practically remove the regular programming. Its just like regular TV. They just put in a few religious shows. And since actors are on vacation islands somewhere accross the coutnry, TV stations replaced regular shows with movies and re-runs. No lost time for advertising for these network giants.

This brings me to the movies thing. When I was a kid it was always Ten Commandments and Jesus Christ Superstar during Holy Week. Today we have everything from sappy love stories to fantasies.

What got my attention most was the showing of EDSA: A Dangerous Life on ABS-CBN throughout Holy Week. EDSA: A Dangerous Life was originally a mini-series that ran for six hours which aired in the US back in 1988. Then it was made into a 162-minute home movie wikipedia.org. I think the movie in itself is very good. Very vivid description of characters and events plus the injection of fictional characters made it really appealing to me.

BUT why would ABS-CBN choose to air this movie at this time? Though the movie did not revolve around the Aquinos, it heavily promoted their identities as national heroes. And we all know that one presidential candidate (though I don't recall seeing him in the movie) is using this surname as his strongest (and only?) ammo this campaign period. And with a campaign ban on Holy Week, this gives the candidate in question a somewhat unfair advantage. As Internet slang would put it, FAIL.

Sapul On TV5

It makes a very strong point. I have noticed these kinds of jokes on Bubble Gang lately.

Not only the poor people need help. Rich people have problems too. Like security.

Rich people need to be taken care of too. Though some of them are not paying the right taxes, their bunch still pays a bulk of the country's taxes that keeps this country running. Call me elitist but I'd like to think that not all rich people are bad. And its good rich people who truly help this country. They bring in jobs and progress. Whilst those poor people who choose to follow the Church and procreate to the point where they'd eat their offspring if it wasn't barbaric, are the ones pulling the country down. Harsh I know. But some things have to be said. Picture this: a mom in her early-thirties tugging two children - offspring number seven and number eight while she is pregnant with number nine all clad in dirty clothes crossing a busy city street. Not hard to imagine isn't it? These people make make our poverty rate, unemployment rate and illiteracy go way up. And during the elections, the are the ones given priority?? Guess what, a lot of them chose to be there with their ignorance. Who the hell told them to send 10 offspring to this earth when they are already having trouble feeding themselves in the first place? (Oh right, the Church!)

I hate our sympathetic culture wherein we always favor those need it most rather than those who worked for it most. Take popular TV show PBB for example. I don't really watch it nor do I really know what criteria they are looking for (aside from being the most marketable after the season) but I doubt that their standards include picking the poorest as the winner. I hate seeing and earing people online and offline saying that Housemate X should be the winner because he has a poor family and he needs it the most. The hell, I didn't know the TV show was centered on charitable-giving.

Back to the video, I think most people will just laugh this off and not take it too seriously. But I pity them, they are a marginalized bunch. Sure they can taka care of themselves better to a certain degree than those in lower class, but that does not mean they don't have needs.

Well, politicians are only doing whats efficient anyway - targetting lower class voters since they are greater in numbers. So much for equality.

Whaaaat the fuudge!!

WOTL: Hell Nino

I mean, they are just doing their jobs. I checked out their guestbook and there is a myriad of comments saying that the NHI should not criticize Pineda for singing the Lupang Hinirang the way he did.

This is the only sensible comment I found:

Jan lang po kayo magaling, mag demanda ng magdemanda sa mga singers ng national anthem. MAGPOST KAYA KAYO NG DOWNLOADABLE MUSIC FILE ng Lupang Hinirang para may reference.

Though its still anti-NHI, it had suggestion for progress. Thats good.

How Arnel sang it:

Not the best copy, but you can hear what the fuss is all about

All of these comments are stupid, I say. Though I am a fan of Arnel Pineda, I agree he should be reprimanded. Why? because he did break the Law. You cannot change the arrangement, tone, tempo or whatsoever of our National Anthem when you sing it inside or outside the country. It is supposed to be a march and sung in under a minute. I learned that in elementary school. Anyone who will try to disprove that is welcome to try. It sickens me a little to see people claim be proud Filipinos whenever Manny Pacquiao has a fight and yet they know very little about National Heritage and preservation.

Even if Arnel did give more feeling into the song, no one is at liberty to sing it in a different manner. Now if people want to allow singers to give their renditions to the National Anthem, its the Congress they should talk too. But this is a potential bigger problem. I can't imagine hearing a rap version of the Lupang Hinirang.

I saw comments saying that the National Historical Institute should do their jobs, and that there are starving Filipinos everywhere and thats who they should help first. Guess what, idiots? This is the NHI's job! Their job is to take care of our national symbols! You want to help starving people? Go to the DSWD or the charity of your choice.

I, for one, am happy seeing that the NHI are working like these and are willing to go against mainstream belief just to uphold what is right. This is one of the few times I am happy to see where my tax money go.

If I was to be mad at the NHI for something, its for not prosecuting other singers more diligently.

And no, the NHI is not singling out big performances. Even less popular celebrities like Gang Badoy was reprimanded. She accepted it. I like her.

Disclaimer: I do not work for the NHI nor do I know anyone who does. With the May elections fast approaching, anything controversial that is remotely linked to a candidate will be blown up out of proportions and electoral campaigns will always be the ulterior motive for almost anything.

Ruffa Gutierrez Walks Out Of The Buzz. What looks like a case of a host getting fed up with a co-host will look like a masterminded plot to detract a political candidate. Thanks to some fast-talking, this cat fight is now a "politically motivated."

I find it rather amusing. But truth be told, I personally think Kris Aquino is a very good reason not to vote for Noy. Imagine the the four Aquino sisters as the backseat drivers in Malacanang.

I think the only thing worse than the close ties between Philippine showbiz and politics is the much un-needed link between Philippine politics and religion.

Update: Wow, reading around the Internets, it looks like people are seriously thinking that this is a political plot. I mean, we'll never know for sure but, I highly doubt that. We all know how Ruffa's mom can be quite talkative. I think this is just a petty case of showbiz misunderstanding. I pity Noy for having a sister like Kris Aquino. Having showbiz connections can really backfire. Its enough that Noy has to deal with his ineffective and inefficient image in this campaign, now his showbiz connections are not doing him any good either.

WOTL: Nasaan Na Sila Ngayon?

Then they eased Luzon residents saying that it will be unlikely that Luzon will be hit by the rotating brownouts, though they said it was still possible. Today, that unlikely event happened. NCR along with several provinces around it experienced a brownout this afternoon that lasted for around two hours. Then another one hit this evening. Even the Makati Central Business District was not spared from the power outage.

People are now looking for the schedule of the rotating brownouts for Luzon. We need this to adjust our activities. Even the Meralco website has a splash message that addresses this concern.

Here are the schedules of the rotating brownout for Luzon from the Meralco Website.

(PDF files, opens in a new window)

10AM-12NOON (Part 1)
10AM-12NOON (Part 2)
11AM-1PM (Part 1)
11AM-1PM_(Part 2)
12NN-2PM (Part 1)
12NN-2PM (Part 2)
12NN-2PM (Part 3)
2PM-4PM (Part 1)
2PM-4PM (Part 2)
2PM-4PM (Part 3)
3PM-5PM (Part 1)
3PM-5PM (Part 2)
4PM-6PM (Part 1)
4PM-6PM (Part 2)
6PM-8PM (Part 1)
7PM-9PM (Part 1)
7PM-9PM (Part 2)
8PM-10PM (Part 1)
