Bar Mitzvah is an Aramaic term which means “son of commandment.” This is the coming-of-age that is referred to in Jewish traditions, in which a boy at age 13 becomes responsible for adhering to Jewish law. The beginning of life to accept religious responsibilities and can perform the important duties of Jewish life.

The celebration of the event is important part to the life of their sons. Although its not a religious obligation but many families celebrate the coming age of their sons. It entails a religious ceremony, which means a child becomes obligated to the ritual resposibilities of Jewish life. At this celebration he becoming a bar mitzvah.

Historically, the religious ceremony of bar mitzvah involved the boy's first "aliya" which is the recitation of Torah reading blessings. This is done on the first Torah service following the boy's 13th birthday. Recently, the celebration has become more elaborate and involves more participation from the boy, such as reading all or some of the prayers during weekly Torah services, giving a speech about the Torah reading, and learning the tradtional chant for the weekly Torah part during a weekly Shabbat or Sabbath service. During the ceremony, the family of the bar mitzvah are also often recognized during Torah services.

After the religious celebration, a party or a reception usually follows. Some celebrate this event during the boy’s 13th birthday, instead of preceding the religious ceremony. Friends and relatives are invited to the celebration. It is only recently that parties have become as elaborate as wedding receptions. This is the part of the celebration where you give your mitzvah gift. It is also during this party that the boy, for the first time, can now say the “Birkat Hamazon” or the grace after meals. That prayer cannot be said by younger boys.

Bar mitzvah is a very remarkable stage in a young boy’s life. It is during this time, that he does not only embrace the adult responsibilities of his Jewish faith and begin to follow the commandments. It is also a time to start struggling to become a living Torah himself.

Israel Decision on Foreign Workers Children

August 4, 2010 The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that the Israeli government has reached a decision to accept the recommendations made by an inter-ministerial committee on the issue of the status of 1,200 children of foreign workers who have their legal status in Israel.

The six guideline that must be met in order for the Israeli government to allow children and their parents to remain in Israel:

1. The child must have been enrolled in the Israeli school system in the past year;

2. Said child must be enlisted for the next school year in the first grade or higher;

3. Said child must have lived at least five years in Israel;

4. If born in another country, the child must have entered Israel before the age of 13;

5. The child must be a Hebrew speaker; and,

6. The parents of the child entered Israel using a valid visa.

According to the Israel government's announcement, it is estimated that out of the 1,200 children who have fallen in this category, 800 would most likely qualify while the remaining 400 children might not meet the criteria. The Embassy anticipates that many Filipino children would be eligible under the newly issued guidelines and has given applicants a period of 21 days to file their application at the Ministry of Interior. For its part, the Embassy is ready to facilitate the issuance of necessary legal documents to all applicants. In anticipation of the possible surge in the number of applicants during the 21 day period, the Embassy has set up task force in the Consular section specifically to address the needs of these children.

On the 400 applicants whose applications might be denied and while the exact number of Filipino children is not yet known, the Embassy reported that the Israeli government has emphasized that these disqualified applicants will be departing Israel with dignity and be treated humanely. News report said that this ruling will cover children of migrant workers of Chinese, Thai and Filipino nationalities and among others.

Based on previous deportation cases, individuals are allowed to pack their belongings and leave quietly. Also, the Israeli government shoulders their plane fare. Deportees may also appeal the ruling with the courts.

The new policy affects children of foreign workers who arrived legally and then started families. Under Israeli law, their children are not automatically granted residency status.

I have two choices, eventually one is in Kfar Blum - located at Upper Galilee where you can experience the magical river adventure, walk, climb and squeeze a high rope adventure and can tour the Galilee through bike cycling.

The Dead Sea is called the Salt Lake .The most saline lakes in the world. The surface of the Dead Sea is over 1,300 feet below sea level. The very bottom of the sea is the deepest part , is over 2,300 feet below sea level. The Dead Sea is completely landlocked ang gets saltier when increasing depth. The surface fed by the River Jordan is the least saline. Down to 130 feet ( 40 meters), the seawater comprises about 300 grams of salt per kilogram of sea water. There are no fish or any kind of swimming creatures living in or near the Dead Sea water. What you can see on the shores of the Sea is white, crystals of salt covering everything. No ordinary salt, either. The salt in the Dead Sea are mineral salts, just like you find in the oceans of the world. The water in the Dead Sea is deadly to most living things.

It's me floating

Dead Sea is deadly to most living things but not for us humans. It is remarkably adaptable to human. We can swim, eventually floating. You cannot make breast stroke or back stroke because salt water is bad for the eyes. Mostly people hang-out, have a chat while enjoying floating. That what so cool about the Dead Sea. Because of the extremely high concentration of dissolved mineral salts in the water, its density is way more than that of plain fresh water. I really just floating. ^_^

That being said, Jewish communities actually do have the custom of lighting Shabath candles 18 minutes before sunset. These 18 minutes provide a grace period for watches and clocks set to slightly different times, ensuring that no one begins Shabath any later that the actual sunset.

Live In Caregiver Duties and Responsibilities

Before everyone get confused, I know some of you are. ^-^ Just want to make it clear that I am a live-in caregiver. Maybe you noticed also that I mentioning here "nursing home". Yes, because I was employed with an old lady who lived in a retirement home. So, I was with her for about four years and unfortunately she died at the age of one hundred one and half. (101.5).

When I was living with her in a retirement home , I was also a live in caregiver, works only with one person privately. A huge difference when I was there are I didn't do any cooking, no cleaning, no laundry. The home provide everything. She even have a woman who showered her everyday and give her breakfast. My sole responsibility is to look after my patient with love and care.

Unlike today I'm a live in caregiver to a lady (Sara) living in her own apartment by herself. I have to do all the household work. In short "yaya ni lola" I have to do the food shopping, I have to cook for her, to clean the house, do the laundry, ironing and etc.. even entertaining visitors. But I'm happy because I can practice my cooking and also I have a private room wherein I can have my privacy. The job is not difficult eventually, I'm always in holiday. I sit with her every morning by the pool or I can swim and use the pool if I want too and I have an afternoon rest for 2 hours before tea time. A wonderful job that I have difficulty to give it up.

Fundamentally, a caregiver provides compassion, care and assistance to those who need help in everyday living. Thus, caregiver should have patience, understanding, and compassionate. I have listed few duties and responsibilities as a caregiver based on my experience.

Personal Care :

1. Assist in shower and personal hygiene

2. Provide personal grooming, nails, hair and oral care.

3. If the patient is in the wheelchair - transfer her/him from bed to wheelchair.

4. Toileting assistance and incontinent care.

5. Encourage activities in accordance to patient's needs and capabilities.

Health Care

1. Make an appointment if patient's needs to see a doctor.

2. Report of sudden changes of the patient's physical mental or emotional health to his/her family or if your in a retirement home, report it to the nurse on duty.

3. Provide good skin care and avoid bed sores.

4. Give the right medication according to doctor prescription.

Household Management :

1. Maintain the cleanliness of the patient's house or apartment.

2. Make the patient bed and change the bed sheet regularly.

3. Wash and dry the patient's clothes regularly.

4. Wash the dishes and all kitchen utensils.

5. Do food shopping and etc..

Changes or Things To Be Aware Off:

1. If your patient's has a high blood pressure - Be sure to check her/his blood pressure regularly and report it quickly if there is high and low changes.

2. Changes in Blood Sugar

3. If the patient falls

4. Swelling part of the body

5. Vomiting

6. Confusion and Hallucination

The Voice of Reason

She is 92 years old, petite, well poised, and proud. She is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with her hair fashionably coiffed, and her make up perfectly applied, in spite of the fact she is legally blind.

Today, she has moved to a nursing home. Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making this moved necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, as I was asked to accompany her, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided the visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet curtains that had been hung on her window.

I love it, she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight year old having just been presented with a new puppy. Mrs. Jones, you haven't seen the room.. just wait, I said. Then she spoke these words that I will never forget; "That does not have anything to do with it she said gently. Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged. It is how I arranged my mind. I have already decided to love it." "It is a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice. I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body had no longer work, or can get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do work. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes is open, I will focus on the new day and all the happy memories I have stored away... just for the time in my life"

In addition , she said "old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you have already put in. And she believed that the background of circumstances may influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become".

With what she said , I realized that she is a very optimistic, and strong woman. She didn't fell sorry of what she got. In fact she accepted it with all her heart. I wish all the people are like her. But it's not, everybody is different.

Tel Aviv - Open Minded City in the Middle East

Tel Aviv is the most modern and westernized place in Israel. Jerusalem is the official capital and the religiuos capital, but Tel Aviv is the center of economic, cultural and social life. Known for their liberation and open minded City in the Middle East.

When you walk the streets at night you can hardly imagine you are in the holy land. Sidewalk cafes give the city a European flavor, especially in the areas with buildings. Shopping at the enclosed Dizengoff Center is pleasant. Tel Aviv is also the business center of Israel, and has the largest percentage of young people. Jaffa is the old arabic part of Tel Aviv. It is much older (Tel Aviv was founded in 1909) and is now some sort of the Quartier Latin of the city. Although it has many small and trendy boutiques it still retains some of its flavour as an arabic city. The best reason to come to Tel Aviv is to have a good time, the nightlife is great, there are good restaurants, there are so many shops, the beaches are wonderful and there is always something going on.

A good place for trendy shopping would be Sheinkin street; Kikar Hamedina is known for its upscale (and expensive) shops; and Azriely center, Ramat Aviv mall and Dizengoff center would answer all your shopping mall needs. Alternatively, you can check out Shuk HaCarmel, a large street market held daily on Carmel St. Bazel and Rotschild streets have the best coffee places; Allenby, Lilienblum streets and the Tel Aviv port is where you'll find all night parties and bars; and you shouldn't miss the beach - for sunbathing and babe watching. With money you can buy honey - you can go anywhere , whenever you want too. That was the life of my old lady on her early senior years. She and her husband used to have a vacation in Miami Florida. According to her, Miami Florida is like a paradise. Blessed with mild weather and incomparable beaches. A number one choice for an active travelers of all ages and skill levels, wherein you can do everything such as diving, fishing, boating, or any water sports that you might interested. Have you visited Paris? I haven't been in Paris but I love to visit this country if given a chance and opportunity. I've made a lot of research about this country and I'm very fascinated with the attractions and beauty of Paris.

So, if you come for the first time in Paris, then you should start your visit with the Beaubourg and Hale districts. From there one can easily manage to reach the most beautiful attraction of France. The Beaubourg district has become a very important tourist attraction after the George Pompidou center was built in 1977. The building of the center represents one of the most-known pieces of modern architecture. It was constructed as a multicultural building, hosting the National Art Museum, a cinema with a various saloons, a huge library, shops and amazement halls. Another point of interest in the Pompidou center is the hall called Brancusi Studio, the place where the works of Romanian sculptor., Constantin Brancusi, are exhibited.

For the people who are crazy about shopping, then the Hale is the perfect place for them. There you can find a hyper underground mall, where all brands in clothing and footwear are to be found. My first week in Israel

I almost forgot this Meme - Busy? No, certainly not but I am too lazy to blog. I'm tired and rather set and watch the tennis Wimbledon semi-final. Until I remember that I have some work to do including this lovely meme of Rose of Nostalgic Marveling ^-^ .

First I can't think of anything what I can share with you because mostly of my stuff are sent home. Yes, I'm ready to go home in two-three months time after seven years here. I can literally hear now the word "pasalubong ko" LOL!

Anyhow, going back to my nostalgic entry this week and hence I'm talking about going home, I want to share my first entry ,first job, adventure of this so called Holy Land.

Year 2003, when I left Philippines. When the plane boarded to Hongkong, I told myself that I'll be going back my home country after two years. But that was never happened. Anyhow, I landed at Bengurion Airport here in Israel, at 3 o'clock in the morning, I dropped a 1 peso coin as my mother told me. Her superstitious belief that I'll be away from evils eye and should have good health since its my first time in this country. After three hours of waiting an agency person arrived to pick us up. I was sent to the flat of caregivers where they stayed during the weekend for their days off. After two days, the agency called me to be prepared because I'm going to start my job. Gosh, I was shivering and nervous but I managed to control .. (takot lang yon kasi walang alam)Honestly, I never had a caregiver training, nor learned a Hebrew language. I just watched the video how to take care elderly people and got some notes of basic Hebrew words. Unlike today, caregiver certificate and Hebrew language certificate is necessary.

I've met my employer (an old lady) who doesn't know to speak English. She spoke Arabic and little Hebrew together which was so hard to understand. So, I did sign language just to comprehend. But sometimes was very difficult really specially on meal time. Hence, I wheeled her to the kitchen and opened the freeze what she wants. LOL! Every word she said I wrote it down and when I'm in the flat I asked the girl what's the meaning of the word. Thus, I learned a little bit of Hebrew and Arabic every week.

The thing that I cannot forget was when I went to a partime job. That was my first partime after a murdered week working who cannot understand each other. Somehow, I have to think my placement to be paid quickly the reason why I grabbed the opportunity to work on my day off. It was frightening because she is alzhiemer at the same time a bed ridden woman who has a very loud voice.. waaaaaaaaaa.. I cried I thought she shouted at me. She made poh on the bed, and the smell was horrible. Then, I cried again when I looked back the swivel chair, the computer, the ledger, and air conditioned room. The adjustment of the job was absolutely difficult.

By the time I finished my 22 hours part time job , I called a taxi to take me to my flat. However, the taxi driver dropped me to the place called Kanyon (Mall). He might thought that's the mall I was talking about. I don't know either what the name of the mall I was going too LOL. I just told him kanyon gadol (big mall) I didn't have a cell number so I cannot phone any of my relatives. And I cannot explain to him that it wasn't the right mall. My trademark is the building design of the mall. Huh, what an experienced it was, I used a sign language again but neither way he cannot understand me. I left nowhere and don't know where to go. I just followed people walking, everytime I asked them they cannot understand me. So, I just continue walking until I found the main street that looks familiar to me. It took me an hour before I saw the place where I supposed to go home.

For seven years here, I adopted the life here. I learned the language, the religion, the culture and learned to love the job. I realized that I am pretty lucky being here. GOD gave me the opportunity to tour around his place, Holy Land.

The speech delivered very sincere and pragmatic, the fact his parents worked and tried very hard to fight for democracy to live. What I like more on his speech is to focus in social services for the poor like health, education, agriculture, and tourism. Apparently, his vision is to eliminate the corruption of the country through good governance. In such way, its lessen the bureaucracy of the country.

Listening and reading his speech, I hope for a positive change. More jobs and less unemployment. And more investors to come. Go, Philippines!

His Excellency Jose Ramos Horta, Former President Fidel V. Ramos, Former President Joseph Estrada, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and members of the Senate, House Speaker Prospero Nograles and members of the House, justices of the Supreme Court, members of the foreign delegations,Your Excellencies of the diplomatic corps, fellow colleagues in government, aking mga kababayan.

My presence here today is proof that you are my true strength. I never expected that I will be here taking my oath of office before you, as your president. I never imagined that I would be tasked with continuing the mission of my parents. I never entertained the ambition to be the symbol of hope, and to inherit the problems of our nation.

I had a simple goal in life: to be true to my parents and our country as an honorable son, a caring brother, and a good citizen.

My father offered his life so our democracy could live. My mother devoted her life to nurturing that democracy. I will dedicate my life to making our democracy reach its fullest potential: that of ensuring equality for all. My family has sacrificed much and I am willing to do this again if necessary.

Although I was born to famous parents, I know and feel the problems of ordinary citizens. We all know what it is like to have a government that plays deaf and dumb. We know what it is like to be denied justice, to be ignored by those in whom we placed our trust and tasked to become our advocates.

Have you ever been ignored by the very government you helped put in power? I have. Have you had to endure being rudely shoved aside by the siren-blaring escorts of those who love to display their position and power over you? I have, too. Have you experienced exasperation and anger at a government that instead of serving you, needs to be endured by you? So have I.

I am like you. Many of our countrymen have already voted with their feet - migrating to other countries in search of change or tranquility. They have endured hardship, risked their lives because they believe that compared to their current state here, there is more hope for them in another country, no matter how bleak it may be. In moments when I thought of only my own welfare, I also wondered - is it possible that I can find the peace and quiet that I crave in another country? Is our government beyond redemption? Has it been written that the Filipino’s lot is merely to suffer?

Today marks the end of a regime indifferent to the appeals of the people. It is not Noynoy who found a way. You are the reason why the silent suffering of the nation is about to end. This is the beginning of my burden, but if many of us will bear the cross we will lift it, no matter how heavy it is.

Through good governance in the coming years, we will lessen our problems. The destiny of the Filipino will return to its rightful place, and as each year passes, the Filipino’s problems will continue to lessen with the assurance of progress in their lives.

We are here to serve and not to lord over you. The mandate given to me was one of change. I accept your marching orders to transform our government from one that is self-serving to one that works for the welfare of the nation.

This mandate is the social contract that we agreed upon. It is the promise I made during the campaign, which you accepted on election day.

During the campaign we said, “If no one is corrupt, no one will be poor.” That is no mere slogan for posters -- it is the defining principle that will serve as the foundation of our administration.

Our foremost duty is to lift the nation from poverty through honest and effective governance.

The first step is to have leaders who are ethical, honest, and true public servants. I will set the example. I will strive to be a good model. I will not break the trust you have placed in me. I will ensure that this, too, will be the advocacy of my Cabinet and those who will join our government.

I do not believe that all of those who serve in our government are corrupt. In truth, the majority of them are honest. They joined government to serve and do good. Starting today, they will have the opportunity to show that they have what it takes. I am counting on them to help fight corruption within the bureaucracy.

To those who have been put in positions by unlawful means, this is my warning: we will begin earning back the trust of our people by reviewing midnight appointments. Let this serve as a warning to those who intend to continue the crooked ways that have become the norm for too long.

To our impoverished countrymen, starting today, your government will be your champion.

We will not disregard the needs of our students. We will begin by addressing the glaring shortage in classrooms and educational facilities.

Gradually, we will lessen the lack of infrastructures for transportation, tourism and trade. From now on, mediocre work will not be good enough when it comes to roads, bridges, and buildings because we will hold contractors responsible for maintaining their projects in good condition.

We will revive the emergency employment program established by former President Corazon Aquino. This will provide jobs for local communities and will help in the development of their and our economy.

We will not be the cause of your suffering or hardship. We will strengthen collections by the Bureau of Internal Revenue and we will fight corruption in the Bureau of Customs in order to fund our objectives for the public welfare, such as:

· Quality education, including vocational education, so that those who choose not to attend college or those who cannot afford it can find dignified livelihood;

· Improved public health services such as PhilHealth for all within three years;

· A home for every family, within safe communities.

We will strengthen the armed forces and the police, not to serve the interests of those who want to wield power with impunity, but to give added protection for ordinary folk. The armed forces and the police risk their lives daily so that the nation can live in peace and security. The population has doubled and yet their numbers remain unchanged. It is not right that those who make sacrifices are treated pitifully.

If there was a fertilizer scam in the past, today there will be security for farmers. We will help them with irrigation, extension services, and marketing their products at the best possible prices.

We are directing Secretary Alcala to set up trading centers that will directly link farmers and consumers thereby eliminating middlemen and opportunities for corruption. In this way, funds can be shared by farmers and consumers. We will make our country attractive to investors. We will cut red tape dramatically and implement stable economic policies. We will level the playing field for investors and make government an enabler, not a hindrance to business. This is the only means by which we can provide jobs for our people.

Our goal is to create jobs at home so that there will be no need to look for employment abroad. However, as we work towards that end, I am ordering the DFA, POEA, OWWA, and other relevant agencies to be even more responsive to the needs and welfare of our overseas Filipino workers.

We will strengthen the process of consultation and feedback. We will strive to uphold the constitutional right of citizens to information on matters of public concern.

We relived the spirit of people power during the campaign. Let it take us to good and effective governance. Those who believe in people power put the welfare of others before their own.

I can forgive those who did me wrong but I have no right to forgive those who abused our people.

To those who talk about reconciliation, if they mean that they would like us to simply forget about the wrongs that they have committed in the past, we have this to say: there can be no reconciliation without justice. When we allow crimes to go unpunished, we give consent to their occurring over and over again. Secretary de Lima, you have your marching orders. Begin the process of providing true and complete justice for all.

We are also happy to inform you the acceptance of Chief Justice Hilario Davide of the challenge of strengthening and heading a Truth Commission that will shed light on many unanswered issues that continue to haunt our country.

My government will be sincere in dealing with all the peoples of Mindanao. We are committed to a peaceful and just settlement of conflict, inclusive of the interests of all -- may they be Lumads, Bangsamoro or Christian.

We shalI defeat the enemy by wielding the tools of justice, social reform, and equitable governance leading to a better life. With proper governance life will improve for all. When we are all living well, who will want to go back to living under oppression?

If I have all of you by my side, we will be able to build a nation in which there will be equality of opportunity, because each of us fulfilled our duties and responsibilities equally.

After the elections, you proved that it is the people who wield power in this country.

This is what democracy means. It is the foundation of our unity. We campaigned for change. Because of this, the Filipino stands tall once more. We are all part of a nation that can begin to dream again.

To our friends and neighbors around the world, we are ready to take our place as a reliable member of the community of nations, a nation serious about its commitments and which harmonizes its national interests with its international responsibilities.

We will be a predictable and consistent place for investment, a nation where everyone will say, “it all works.”

Today, I am inviting you to pledge to yourselves and to our people. No one shall be left behind.

No more junkets, no more senseless spending. No more turning back on pledges made during the campaign, whether today or in the coming challenges that will confront us over the next six years. No more influence-peddling, no more patronage politics, no more stealing. No more sirens, no more short cuts, no more bribes. It is time for us to work together once more.

We are here today because we stood together and believed in hope. We had no resources to campaign other than our common faith in the inherent goodness of the Filipino.

The people who are behind us dared to dream. Today, the dream starts to become a reality. To those among you who are still undecided about sharing the common burden I have only one question: Are you going to quit now that we have won?

You are the boss so I cannot ignore your orders. We will design and implement an interaction and feedback mechanism that can effectively respond to your needs and aspirations.

You are the ones who brought me here - our volunteers - old, young, celebrity, ordinary folks who went around the country to campaign for change; my household help who provided for all my personal needs; my family, friends, colleagues at work, who shared, cared, and gave their support; my lawyers who stayed all hours to guard my votes and make sure they were counted; and the millions of Filipinos who prevailed, kept faith, and never lost hope - I offer my heartfelt gratitude.

I will not be able to face my parents and you who have brought me here if do not fulfill the promises I made.

My parents sought nothing less, died for nothing less, than democracy and peace. I am blessed by this legacy. I shall carry the torch forward.

My hope is that when I leave office, everyone can say that we have traveled far on the right path, and that we are able to bequeath a better future to the next generation. Join me in continuing this fight for change.

ECA's ranking is based on a basket of 128 goods that includes food, daily goods, clothing, electronics, and entertainment, but not rent, utilities, and school fees, which are not typically included in a cost of living adjustment. ECA researchers and local partners gathered prices in Septmember 2009 and March 2010 for domestic and imported brands that are internationally recognized - such as Kellogg's cereal or Sapporo beer. While lower priced goods and services are available in these markets, the study estimated the cost supporting the standard living expected by expatriate employees, says ECA's regional director for Asia. Some of the cities, such as Seoul and Stockholm, jumped up in the ranking as the local currency strengthened against the U.S. dollar. The director says that while a slowdown in business may tempt employers to scale back compensation, "recessions only last so long" and retaining top talent in these places is critical to companies' success when the global economy recovers.

Secret to Stay Healthy : Old Age

I encountered a few people in a nursing home range from the age of 75 - 105 years old. Some of them are disabled but they are mentally healthy and some of them are literally fit to do anything. I often asked myself what are their secrets?

When I spoke to one of them , a South African Lady, who used to swim at the age of 90 years old, love to read magazines, novels, newspapers and smartly dress, she said that you just enjoy life if you can. Don't be miserable because it doesn't help you at all. Just be careful of what you eat, then take exercise more often. She admitted, the she often forget things and her carer help her to remember but reading and crosswords puzzle is very helpful for the exercise of her mind.

So, what can you do to remain healthy into an old age?

Here are some few ways of ensuring a healthy old age.

* Stop Smoking

* Moderate alcohol consumption

* Take exercise

* Healthy diet

* Socialize with others

* Get out in the fresh air

* Make sure that your home is safe

A visit to a Peaceful Oasis

It was a lovely morning today when my cousin and I went to Baha'i Garden and Shrine in Haifa. As what I promised to myself that I should go there before I leave the country. We went there too early because we thought the tour start at 9 o'clock as the information given with me by their office. Unfortunately we waited for about 2 hours before the tour start.

Walking into the Baha'i Garden is like entering another world. One where conflict and hate and distrust and enemies just don't exist. It's very hard to imagine that your in the middle of one of the most conflict centered countries on earth. Anyhow, the garden themselves is remarkably beautiful. Amazing and magnificent. Walking along the paths a little to see all the variety of flowers. However, you can only enter the garden with a tour tour guide, otherwise , you can only view the garden from above. The English tour is free at noon time. The staff is very welcoming and the tour guide will give an overview of the Baha'i faith as well as the history and the design of the garden.

The Baha'i Shrine which was the first place we entered at the beginning of our adventure without a tour guide. It simply beautiful. You can enter barefooted, phone is turn off, no camera and you must dress decently. They are like Holy center of a peaceful place.

Unfortunately the dome is currently under renovation so, we didn't get a chance to see it ...

Things to bring when you plan to visit in summer days.

* A hat or cap

* Sunblock Cream

* Bottle of Water.

It is a holy site, so, they ask you to dress decently. Short, mini skirt and sleeveless are not allowed, unless you have covered on it. Foods are no allowed inside.
