Zoe's 4th Birthday!

Zoe (Sophia) celebrated her 4th birthday in her school in Nativity Church Kindergarten. I just bought a Tinkerbell cake from Polar. 1 kg is worth SGD37.50. Ordered it 1 day in advance. Would want to buy the Four Leaves cake but have to order 3 days in advance for a customized cake.

Assembly starts at 8:15. Zoe and I were in school 5 minutes before the assembly time. Mrs Chia, Zoe's teacher, put on the candles and brought it inside the Music Room. Another student is also celebrating her birthday. Children were looking at me as there were no parents inside besides me. But Mommy got to do what she got to do--take photos. ;)

After assembly, they had their fitness Wednesday. I stayed inside the school ground. It was such a bummer, my digital camera and my handphone were running on low battery and was not able to take videos. Good timing, eh! Mommy not prepared. But thank God, digital camera and phone were still able to capture the more important events.

Since I don't allow my kids to eat chocolate cake we bought a smaller Tinkerbell cake from Polar as well. Zoe and Wacks blew the candles. Mommy, Daddy, Tita Grace & Ninang Lek ate the cake. ;p

Fishing at Bottle Tree Park

Last Sunday, we went to Bottle Tree Park to go fishing. The park is near Khatib MRT and just across Yishun Sports Hall. We were there around 9:45am and when we went to the family fishing area, it was empty.

Zoe and Wacks were very excited. Uncle gave them 2 fishing nets and 2 containers for their catches. $10 per child. Uncle told us that there is no time limit and we can catch as many as we want.

He should have given us a bigger container. Our catch after 10 minutes. :)

Wacks caught some fishes on his own. He was having fun not only in catching fish but also splashing on the water!

Before 11am, people started coming in. And it's time for us to go. Will we come back? Yes! But now with friends. The more the merrier! :)

I am so excited! Philippine stock market is down! And unlike other women , I shop for stocks instead of going to mall during this Great Singapore Sale. :) Finally, I bought PLDT shares at low prices. Though I haven't catched the lowest price yesterday! I am so happy I restrained myself from buying during the bull market. Except for AC... :( Still I have spare kaching (cash) to buy some great companies! Woot woot!

I Can See Clearly Now

The sun is out. The sky is clear. PSI has dropped to 84 today after hitting a record high of 401 yesterday. Haze has been all over Singapore since Tuesday. My sinusitis attacked since then and persisted til Wednesday evening. By Thursday, all windows and doors were closed making it hard for me to breathe. Praise God, kids are coping well. Though, Wacks had a bout of slight fever during the day...

We are supposed to attend 2 birthday parties today but decided to just stay at home. The PSI is very unpredictable so instead of taking chances, we again 'imprisoned' ourselves. 4 days at home! My itchy feet is waging war!

Daddy and the kids are out in the playground now. As at 5pm, PSI reading is 53! Praise God!!! Hello, clear skies and clean air!!! Goodbye, haze!!! Don't want to see and smell you again! ;p

Back from Pinas

Haven't written here for quite some time. We were back after almost 3 weeks of vacation in the Philippines. It was more fun, more productive and less stressful! Thank God no one got sick, which is very usual after having a vacation in Pinas.

I will write the things we've done and places we've been to...If my memory serves me well. Heheh.

Zoe at Kid's Dash 2011

Backtrack 1 month. :)

Last Dec 2011, Zoe participated in Standard Chartered Kid's Dash 2011. I thought only Daddy will run with her. Pero napasubo kme. Ate Inday, Wacks & I braved the heat and ran (actually walked hehe) the 750m route. I did not know that we can also run with them.

After the race, all the kids who participated was given a medal. So proud of Ate Zoe!

Daddy asked her if she wants to run again. Without blinking she replied, "NO!". hahaha!

This year, Wacks is joining Ate Zoe! Excited. :)

Changing Name in OCBC, DBS and POSB Singapore

Went to OCBC and POSB to change my name. Queue is like when you're queuing in their ATMs. POSB is far much longer. :) Took me around 1 1/2 hours to finish.

Good thing that once name is changed in POSB, DBS accounts will also be updated. Great! :) Thought I need to queue up the 3rd time.

Processing is done very fast. Just present your new IC, sign some papers and voila! your new name is already reflected in their system. However, if you have credit cards, your name is still the same unless you request for a new card, which, of course, will be replaced with a fee. You can wait for your card to expire and they will issue you your new card reflecting your new name.

Post Note (July 2013): OCBC Plus! issued new credit cards. However, the replaced card does not bear my new name...Why ah...Never bothered to call and ask. Hehehe

Extension of Wacks' Long Term Social Visit Pass

Last Saturday was our appointment for Wacks' extension of LTSVP. We arrived 2 to 3 minutes passed our schedule. Hehehe...Tagal nagising ni Wacks. First time he slept beside Zoe.

Daddy proceeded to the e-appointment kiosk to scan the doc. While Wacks and I have our photos taken. Aunty is so patient with Wacks and took more than 6 photos as he was not looking directly to the camera. In the end, we decided on the photo where Wacks is looking a bit downward. :) Passport pic, 4pcs, $5.

While we were in the photo taking station, Daddy have already submitted the docs and the officer was just waiting for the pic. After my photo was taken, I went to 3rd storey to change my name. After around 15 minutes, they were done and Daddy left Wacks with me and went to work.

Finally, after 3 years of being married and 2 kids, I am now using my married name in my IC! :) Application by counter in ICA only takes me 30-45 mins. We were there earlier at around 8:30am. I was expecting a long queue at the information counter (to get queue number) as it was a Saturday. But I was 2nd in line.

1. After around 10 minutes, my number was called and was attended to by the officer.
2. Presented her my passport, IC and deed poll. Gave her photocopies.
3. Took my thumb prints.
4. Verified if my particulars are correct.
5. Paid $60.
6. I was given a slip of paper and pass to the IC collection counter.
7. In less than 30 minutes, I already collected my new IC with my NEW NAME on it! Yey!

Now, have to remember all the banks and companies that I need to update. :)

Below are the requirements and procedures taken from ICA's FAQ website:

9. What supporting documents are required if I wish to change my name on my NRIC? What should I do?

The following documents are required for changes to your name:

Baptism or Religious Certificate for insertion of religious name. This certificate should contain the registrant's name in full as well as the BC/NRIC/Passport number (for Permanent Residents)
Deed Poll; which is a legal document executed by all Advocates or Solicitors to effect a change in name, including the ethnic name (ie. Name in Chinese Characters, Jawi or Tamil script). The deed poll should be executed by the registrant's parents if the registrant is below 21 years of age.
Marriage Certificate for insertion of married name.

Once your application has been submitted succesfully, you have to submit a copy of the dcument to ICA either through email: ICA_IC_Unit@ica.gov.sg or via fax to 6293 6991. If you are sending the document via fax, kindly indicate “iC Online” on the first page of the document.

The original copy of the document must be produced when you call at ICA to collect your NRIC.

10. If I want to add in my Christian name in my NRIC, how do I submit my deed poll/baptism certificate to show proof?

For application made via iC Online, you would be required to key in your new name on the web application form. The original copy of the document would have to be produced when you come in to collect your NRIC.

Missing the sun, sand and sea...

It's been 3 years since I've been to the beach...So unlike me...I miss the smell of the sea, the feel of sand under my feet, the scorching sun touching my skin...sunset, sunrise, relaxing and just staring in awe at God's wonderful creations. A great place to have fellowship with God. Never experienced this with my family...How's it going to be...Can't wait. :)

Oh Maldives, I want to visit you. :)

Deed Poll, Check!

Got my deed poll yesterday at People's Park Complex in Chinatown. I am officially changing my name in Singapore tomorrow@ ICA. :)

Here are the procedures on how I got my deed poll.

1. Called the lawyer's office. Mine is Prasanna Devi. Thanks Sis Anna Torio for the contact number. :)
2. I was advised to email them my scanned copy of Marriage Cert and NRIC and state the NEW name. After 2 days, I did not received any acknowledgement or whatsover so I called again. I was advised to collect after 1 wk due to the New Year's Day holiday.
3. Went to their office and when I arrived, the accommodating staff asked me to check if the particulars are correct. After 15-20 minutes, deed poll is ready plus the photocopy. Paid $70.

The next day, Zoe was already sneezing. By afternoon, she was already teary-eyed and having a slight fever. Daddy gave her a massage. Put Vicks on her feet and covered them with socks. She slept for more than 2 hours but very uncomfortable due to stuffy nose. However, when she woke up, she felt better and on her "kulit" mode again. But still sneezing and have runny nose. Later in the evening, she was having slight fever again. So instead of her usual nighttime routine, Daddy gave her a sponge bath. Then Daddy did the Vicks ritual again. The next day, all the virus gone. We love you, Daddy! :)

What is Mommy doing? Still recovering. :(

Healing & Miracle for Jan 2012

Happy New Year everyone!

Celebrated my New Year's eve suffering from sinusitis and bad colds. Was feeling the chills hours before midnight. Stayed almost the whole afternoon and evening inside the room. Poor me. At around 11pm, I was begging God and was praying for healing and miracle. I prayed, "Lord, please heal me. I'm praying for the gift of healing and miracle. Even for just one hour, 11:30pm - 12:30am. I want to celebrate the New Year with my family." And indeed God is so good! Before 11:30pm, I was up and immediately arranged the feast on the table. Prepared the kids' clothes, dressed up myself, took the sparkler and camera and greeted 2012! Praise God! :)

Thank God I was up and about. :)

At around 12:30am, I felt the headache coming back. Lied down on the sofa, closed my eyes and never moved again. Woke up at 2am, transferred to our bed. Wacks needed feeding. Then slept again.

Thank you, Lord for the healing and miracle! Da best ka talaga! :)
