I haven’t been the most interested guy in class due to my absences and they make me fall out of place -as I write-, the feeling of not belonging to the bigger crowd is over shadowing my low self-esteem that is currently flushing down an all time low, problems in the family have caused issues, my health have caused issues and now even my sideline on the internet is showing signs of dissatisfaction with the course that I have taken.

Probably, I did not decide that well which course I should take on and which would suit me the best, but I have no idea right now how to get myself out of the hole that I have lead myself straight into upon re-entering the Ateneo de Davao. I had this strong feeling that this move is yet the best thing that ever happened to me but I slowly have this awful believe of being corrected and leaded to a dead end where there ain’t be any turning back at this point.

Surely, I’m aware of the 36 thousand pesos tuition that my parents are wrapping together to have me educated at the Ateneo, but the present Georg Kevin Paquet that most of you believe of knowing – being this pretty incredible blogging sensation and SEO Whiz – ain’t be that awesome in real life as this post can tell.

Some have suggested that I should have picked Journalism instead of Information Technology and instead should have evening classes at the Holy Cross of Davao for that course to have myself paying full attention to my online responsibilities during day time and having enough time preparing myself for the classes that will follow later on the day, with that I would avoid the sleepy look that I have been carrying around for months no with no real time to have some rest or have some good time with myself, well, that’s if you’d exclude the mini trip I had to Manila’s NAIA that led me nowhere but home after 5 hours of frustration at the International Airport due to some financial reasons.

I guess I’m talking too much again, like a FRIEND would remind me about, but this is what I love to do, to talk, to share and express myself via any of the blogs as my medium of communication with the world. And before I wrap it up, I’m wondering what you think about this issue that I’m having? Should I have picked Journalism instead? Should I continue my weary stay at the Ateneo and wait until I can enroll for Journalism or a immediate stoppage -therefore waste of 36K- at the Ateneo help out to follow up my work to aid me in paying my tuition at the next school I’ll be attending -because I’m very sure that there are some older people (talking about my father and my mother) would not agree to pay the money needed to become a Journalist.

A few items that I have purchased with the money includes but doesn’t ends there, the Wireless router that I have at home right now, a iPod Touch 16GB, a new jeans, and the courtesy of riding a taxi anywhere I’ve been two the past three to four days, also, including my three straight breakfasts at a nearby McDonalds, with a couple of Lunch and Dinner sessions as well; and oh, a few treats along the way. But the highlight of the money that I have spend are the four tickets that I have purchased for my upcoming Manila trip this July 24 to July 27, 2009 wherein I’ll leave a weekend for Manila and then Legaspi to Manila and back again to Davao on a lazy Monday Morning, just in order to see someone that I bet you all know about already.

Blogging is always somethign very nice, especially when you have reached the 100 Dollar Mark a month earlier and when it’s the 26th of the Month, because the Adsense cash usually gets issued on the 26th of every month, that if you have had earned more than 100 Dollars a month before. One thing that I don’t understand is the weak performance this June, is it because of classes or am I starting to suck again when it comes to blogging and Search Engine Optimization, but eitherway, the earnings that I have made in May -which by far surpassed my expactations for the whole year 2009 seems to be enough for the mean time, whilst I’ll wait to have another thousand earned by August.

And since my money is almost depleted once again, I’ll be starting blogging a bit more often here and on another blog that I have started which you’ll soon know about, so, just stay tuned and watch out!

Farewell, to one of the well known music sensations of the world, Michael Jackson died at 50 in Los Angeles.

Whenever I hear the name of this pop icon, I always come to recall what the parents of Kevin tell me often, that Kevin used to dance along music of Michael Jackson when he was much younger than now whenever they would attend a concert where his music was played. A funny thought, knowing that Kevin is not much affected about Michael Jackson related issues anymore, but still mourns about the death of such high noted celebrity.

The adversity of his life finally comes to a closure after scandalous weeks, months and years during his final stretch of his life. And once again, before I come to a closure to this post, farewell Michael Jackson a big part of the music world will surely miss you.

With this, I would like to invite all of you to take part in the Digital Filipino Club 2009 Event here in Davao City, Philippines. Where bloggers, online marketers and their like meet together at a venue to talk and have a gathering with each other to interact with one another and share the common interest which in general refers to the interest in working on the internet or any other internet related activities. This years event from the Digital Filipino Club is scheduled for the 18th of July, 2009 which is a Saturday and will still be hosted by the Grand Regal Hotel (I’m finally of legal age and hope that I won’t have any issues entering the venue again this year). So if you want to meet some other cool online personalities make friends for link exchanges and socialize with people of common interest, then this is the hottest local event to attend to, and if socializing is not enough, then probably, the free food might lure you to the said occasion, anyways, I hope to see you there at the Digital Filipino Club 2009 Event in Davao City!

And like most of you have thought, the Pinoy Teens Online Blogging Network will stay alive and will continue to coexist along my other projects that I am currently taking on, including seowright.com, writepress.org and a few others. The only difference that I’ll treat Pinoy Teens differently in a more special way, well, it has been special to me all throughout but not as special as this,  since this will be Pinoy Teens Online v3.0, a totally new hangout and community with the same old people around looking for new faces to join the community.

One thing that I’ll be looking forward to is to have a forum on this website where people can discuss and talk with each other about blog post and other topics that interest the common among the crowd, a area for support and a zone where students can help each other with their assignments. It sounds like a very great idea and it’s indeed a little hard to achieve being a loner on the web, that’s why I’m hoping for your cooperation as we pursue this online community in soon time.

As of now, I would just like to introduce you to the new Pinoy Teens Online, still the same theme but with a couple of tweaks here and there, a bit cleaner code (I know it contains hundreds of errors still) and a much faster site response for everyone. School work is piling up, but surely not adding to the scarcity of my time to blog, watch out for more updates in the next couple of days by me and our other authors that time just won’t allow me to introduce to you.

There is so much that I have on mind right now, so many things that I would like to share but I just don’t know where to start with. I feel happy that people of authority like the two named above have reached out to a blogger like me to work things out together, it makes me feel glad and very honoured to be noticed by at least some people of the thousands who use Pinoy Teens as a resource and those who have followed my development on the internet since I first made my grounds on the web in the midst of the year 2007.

What I’m now looking forward to is to be able to finish a small list or what they call module that I can base my teachings and preachings about blogging, wordpress and seo upon, and then finalize everything that I have enlisted with the respective people involved. The Initial Idea of this project that I am collaborately working on with the people of DabaweGNU aims to inspire other people to start blogging and to have other bloggers or even internet idiots realize the importants of blogging to our community, how powerful it can be in terms of sharing information and for their own good; in terms of making money online. Surely, money through blogging isn’t always on top of all things, there are times when the low tides arrive no matter what you try to bring your blog up, that’s why it is important to know how to deal with the problems of adversity and strugle and seek a way out of the problem in order to pursue with their blogging to have it going.

Being a 18 year young Filipino Blogger, being a known blogger of his own kind during the midst of my seventeenth year on earth is a great asset and speaks for itself, how powerful blogging can be if used wisely and if being exercised as your passion and hobby – the way I do. Have you ever seen anyone of my age cashing out 31,000 pesos and more just because of online advertisement? There are some, but I bet not many people who do so. But I hope that with the few teachings that I’ll be sharing, people who’ll be listening to me won’t only pursue blogging in order to attain money from the clicks that their visitors make, but also concentrate and dedicate themselves in providing good content to them to create a consistent and strong readership basis.

During our talk that night we also tackled events that are coming up like the Software Freedom Day 2009 which is probably going to be hosted at the UIC of Davao, the Idea Camp and a event that they are trying to insert before the Digital Filipino Club 2009. My friends have been asking me if I’d be attending the event of my Adsense Mentor himself during his WordPress seminar, but I humbly decline to get my ass behind my very own project and my own way of doing the blogging business. I’ll be informing you about more updates on the workshop as soon as possible with concrete venue and date when I have the time to do so. But for now, let me leave you with these words

Has the television really stopped the overflowing streams of news and all the etcetera in regards to the Katrina Halili Sex Scandal Issue with Hayden Kho or is it really just because I don’t turn the Television on that often, but either way it goes, the center of attraction this time around isn’t Halili, isn’t Kho but is Miss Reyes who was again on fire delivering a spectacular show.

How deceiving a cute girl like her can be, huh? Pinoy Teens has served me since 2007 when I was still a noob in the online community, I ran a forum, which made his very own waves but I’ve never reached this far, this far that Pinoy Teens has been as a blog.

It looks effortlessly in other people’s eye, some find it disturbing and others praise me for my accomplishments at this young age, but no, I don’t think that I’m to be worshiped, praised or appreciated for anything that I have created through Pinoy Teens Online. This weblog has served enough damage to my reputation and it’s time to end it, right here, and right now. I’m letting go of this blog to get rid of the calling “Mr Pinoy Teens” and the likes that always recalls a bad memory about me in other people’s mind.

I don’t know, but maybe, I’m really just a little bit too affected by what has happened these past 12 hours but probably, this is the best decision that I can take, saying goodbye to one part of my life that has dominantly occupied too much time and too much space already, which is my blogging habbit. All my great plans of starting a forum and having a featured teen category boost the readership of this blog are going to drown in water and so is Pinoy Teens which has been one heck of a amazing blog during his a year and a quarter stay on the web.

Last year, we had two WordCamps, a Mini WordCamp back here in Davao City whilst the major event was held at the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) in Luzon. The difference from last years event will be, that we are up to pay something in order to attend, this is to avoid trouble with the shirts, fees and to reach expectations that haven’t really been met in the former meet up -of generally, WordPress wannabes-

The price range being discussed right now is from 750 Pesos to 1,500 Pesos, with available discounts for Students (wala bang discounts for Davao attendees? hehe), which is said to include snacks and a WordCamp Shirt (Ate brendel, saan na ang pinapangako mong shirt! hmp! :p)

Smart Bro will be sponsoring the internet connection again, and surprisingly, Smart was able to accommodate everyone at Saint Benilde with fast internet connection throughout the day! Let’s hope that the internet will be up and running again like at the WordCamp Philippines last year and that we won’t fall pray to Smart Bro-kens trademark like at the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2008.

CHED postpones classes to June 15,2009

As formerly announced by my school’s official website, the Ateneo de Davao’s Www.Addu.Edu.Ph, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) announced that all public and private schools and universities who run Colleges and graduate schools should have their classes postponed to June 15, 2009 instead of having them started today, the 8th of June, 2009.

The Ateneo campuses all over the Philippines are just a few of the schools to mention that diligently followed the advice per CHED to have the starting of classes at the Tertiary/College level postponed for one week, including the University of the Philippines which has a neighboring campus at the DLSU that has reported and confirmed one or more Swine Flu cases.

Wondering Universities and Colleges Nationwide is, why the whole Philippines or let’s say the whole College and Graduate Schools has to have their classes delayed for an week and the reasons as stated on a letter by CHED points out the following reasons, but not in exact words.

First and foremost the outbreak of Swine Flu (which is mainly going on in Manila and other regions including Zamboanga City who have reported two cases) by which the Commission on Higher Education would like to ensure the constantly incoming International Students to be given ample time to self-quarantine themselves for a week since majority of these international students are coming in from Swine Flu infected countries.

The second reason pointed out by the CHED is due to the bad weather locations around Luzon and Visayas are experiencing which makes it unconducive but for teaching personnel and students to learn and hard for students at remote places to proceed to school. While lastly, the third reason for the delay of classes from June 8 to June 15, 2009 was..

To give parents ample time to seek for additional financial resources to be able to send their children back to school for this school year 2009-2010 which has been a difficult task for our less fortunate brothers and sister that are dominantly affected by this Global Crisis going on as we speak.

I personally dislike the fact that classes have been postponed nationwide including cities that are still swine flu free this moment I am writing this article. I was pretty much excited this morning to start my college life at the Ateneo with a big smile on my face before people on plurk have confirmed the postponing of classes to next week. Meaning that I’ll be celebrating my birthday at home :p

The Drag Me To Hell advertising banner has been at the NCCC Mall for weeks now which really excites me each time I have a glance at it before entering the cinema to watch a movie like Angels and Demons, Star Trek, Wolverine and the others that I have seen recently. Many blogs have written previews and already reviews about the Horror Movie Drag Me To Hell which excites me even more. All that I have to do for now is try to convince my mother to have a look at that movie either on my own or with their accompaniment which will hopefully be tomorrow or on the other day, I don’t really wanna rush it, but reviewing Drag Me To Hell as one of the Horror Movies in 2009 would be pretty much something that I look forward writitng about here.

Ateneo First Year Orientation Program Day 01 – June 02,

2009

The first day of the Orientation Program known as the Ateneo First Year Orientation Program or AFYOP was the most hassle one, I had difficulty adjusting to the new time schedule when to sleep and went to wake up and arrived late at the Ateneo by around ten minutes and that, even with riding a Taxi. Upon arrival at the gates of the Jacinto Campus of the said academe, I went straight to the covered court where I have seen not just one, two, three but a dozen and more fellow Philippine Women’s College of Davao batchmates of mine who are part of the School of Arts and Sciences, I went like, WOW, there are a lot of Philwomenians who want to show off their PWCian Culture among the Jesuits!

The whole program started with a Mass, just like everything starts with a traditional prayer or with a mass like in our case. The host of the mass was the University President who has warmly welcomed each and everyone to Ateneo and left us some words to think and ponder our thoughts on during our stay. We should great one another, -the next person close to us- said a random voice and the first classmate of mine every to approach me goes by the name Judy who just did that, “Hi.” with a murmuring response from yours truly. After the mass was celebrated and the crowded venue of S.A.S freshmen was crowded, we headed to our classrooms, ours was located at the 5th floor -so says the elevator- while at the covered court it was said that z5 will take up a room on the 4th level of the main building facing corner Roxas and Claveria. Our room was located on the C.M Recto side of things facing the Metro whatever you call that triangle.

We had an activity which was named the Human Bingo, where we had to have our papers signed by respective classmates of ours whose personality and other information suits best to what is being asked for, there’s been only one person in the whole room running with glasses and only one female lady who came from Ilocos, it was tough to approach our fellow classmates at first but once somebody has started, everyone has followed and of course, three of us finished ahead of the crowd and claimed some goodies that have been distributed today. He had other activities too, but the next most significant one for the morning session of that 2nd of July Orientation Program was when we were told to write our name, nickname or whatever calling on a piece of paper and add appropriate adjectives that describe us and our personality starting with each letter of our name, and I ended up with the following.

Personality of which I have emphasized my flexible, or as listed above Versatile asset the most. Accompanying me from the PWC of Davao were Pamela Pascual and Rudolf Matalam of which the latter was my classmate during my Junior Years at the PWC. The girl next to my back was the one I have talked with instead asking her what from the letters of her name she’d emphasize the most and ended up saying the word Simple. And her nick by the way was Sang. The person to her right goes by the nickname Din -which is unfairly short :p- who emphasized on the word diligent while the other girl to Din’s right going by the nick Teza -who was the Senior Classmate of the former girl I mentioned above at the Holy Cross- emphasized at I don’t know what letter that was. haha.

It was just the start of the day, the start of a bond that I and my classmates gonna have for the whole semester ahead and already now, I’ve been able to identify the funny ones and entertaining classmates like one who goes by the name of Neil, who frequently wonders why everyone is laughing at almost anything he does. We sang a song, we ha a little dance, and that was it for the day or maybe not? But before I head to the following day let me rewind back to what happened during the Lunch.

At lunch time, I was accompanied by the three girls Din, Isang and Teza along with their respective friends to lure some food down our mouth, at the canteen I met fellow Student Blogger Patrik from the Bunsoi Magazine -who I believe has quiet an issue right now-. He was kind of mysteriously laughing about me bragging around with my WordPress shirt that day, emphasizing that there aren’t many bloggers out there in the campus who might come to recognize it, but, so what?

I went to the Gazeebo where I wasn’t alone but accompanied with other mates of mine to have a few moments checking out my Plurk account and other online chores I’m frequently taking care of. And then we went up for the sing and dance practices and activities of ours. The day seemed a bit long and endless, and our Ate whose name I forgot who was accompanied by the cousin of my fellow blogger Vincent who goes by the name Ralph had two games in mind which appeared to be funny at first but ended up into another boring streak when no one really outed of the mini game.

We had a small tour around the campus and it was like a suicide attempt for me roaming around the campus with my heavy baggage and half empty stomach but I survived it, somehow. And that was how the first day has ended.

Ateneo First Year Orientation Program Day 02 – June 03, 2009

The second day was the most entertaining one, everyone was still a bit shy on the former date but it was today when most likely everyone was up for the hype and there are truly a few things that I’ll hardly forget as one of the momentous first moments at Ateneo de Davao and before I’ll forget about the funniest part…

Tower Building out of Straw

Before we headed down stairs from the seventh floor -we were relocated to a new classroom because of Airconditioin Malfunction-, he had a little group/team activity and contest. He had to create a tower out of straw and base it on the criteria: Most stable, best design and tallest and guess what, we went all the way to grab only one of the factors and that was the height.

With the accompaniment of a fellow blogger, Ralph of wapolz.blogspot.com we went on with the tedious task and ended up with our tower being blown away by the first attempt to knock it down with a strong wind push coming from a card board. And there it goes, our tower is down the third to be tried and tested, the tallest yet worst when it comes to durability. The last one stood tall and proud and looked nice, but hey, that wasn’t really the name of the game, democracy has messed up a bit about the winner!

The most messy looking tower created by our joker in class and his groupmates who have not really contributed that much was tested by the leader of another tower group and it stood strong, whilst the said joker in class attempted to knock the other tower down and still stood strong. We had three towers up and it was a close draw wherein the favorite was clear to see -or maybe not-

The jury said that it was up to us now to pick a winner and to clap our hands for the one we liked the most. The first one on the role was the most messy one and our group and members of other groups showed their support by clapping for it while none has clapped for the latter two meaning that the messy one has succeeded and won, and I bet the judge was a bit amazed by the despicable result :p

We had a little cheering practice for our one and only cheer that we’d shout during the program that was going to be held at the court at 3PM today, the cheer was courtesy of Bea I don’t know her family name and it goes like “Tik a tik tik a tik tik a tik boo, better watch out ’cause z5 is coming through”. Well, it sounded a bit nasty during practice but it become worse at the actual moment we had to presented it to our fellow batch mates at the program proper.

I could talk about so many beautiful things that have happened to me these past 48 hours but time and my patience won’t allow me to. I was indeed happy and indeed feel like I finally have this sense of belongingness to my class and most especially to the Ateneo community. I would like to thank everyone from my classmates down to our Ate and Kuya who took care of us these 2 days of Orientation and simply everyone else who works behind the scene, the much speculated famous O.S.A head Sir Ricky and simply everyone who has warmly welcomed us to the elites, the Ateneo de Davao University.

Either Mayweather or Marquez to face Pacquiao

But somehow, there is a indirect connection between the Filipinos and the upcoming battle of the two, wherein Mayweather has returned after a year of retirement in 2008. Marquez said some time ago that Floyd Mayweather is still the best and that there is no doubt that the Junior of the two Mayweather’s remains top class and is the toughest opponent that he may face, even if he has retired and has just returned for this bout.

But still, Pacquiao is the best for us!

If Mayweather is really stronger than Manny Pacquiao and if he will fall against Marquez it only means that we might see another fight for Manny Pacquiao with Marquez by the end of the year or in early 2010, or a probably demolition of Mayweather if he will draw the upperhand at the much awaited July contest. I personally don’t doubt the strength of Mayweather and his capabilities in the ring, but based on what we all have seen during the Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hattoin Fight we live broadcasted via SopCast, I doubt that there is any of these two that stand a chance against the true pound for pound’s best and Philippine People Champ the Pacman.

Some might say that I was obliged, or should I say -napilitan- to call her up, but surely I wasn’t. I made her cry that night because of the thousands of questions that I have thrown up against her about what has happened to her during a recent past experience. But when I knew that she was crying, I just had to wrap up my last few cents on Paypal and get myself loaded by my online loader to be able to call this girl. And then we started talking, talking, and talking.

On the following day, we were still on the phone, the 25th early morning around 4:00AM, the momentous moment when the word TedeebHurR has been invented, which spelling is courtesy of my wild imagination and the word courtesy of her childish mind. I got used calling her that way and that particular word kept bugging me day in and day out. Feelings for her seeded deeply in my heart and truly, Plurk moves in mysterious ways.

I had two ex-girlfriend already from plurk, both who were from Davao City, Philippines as well. But it just didn’t seem to work out and it was likely, that those relationships would drown under water, yet this time, despite the distant seas that part us, we defy everything that I have came along before. This feeling of being able to trust someone you have not really met yet, the feeling that someone is faithful to you, loves you and truly cares about you. I have felt this way once, but never with someone on Plurk and I was seeking for a person who might make me feel this special again and I almost lost hope until Graceanne crossed my path.

My in real life friends, Princess, Joseph, Kaye and several others warned me before I’d go ahead and engage into something like this. “She might be young, but she might be fooling you, too.” “Panakipbutas ka lang ho” and other discouraging words. But I ignored all of their sayings and defied my best friend for the very first time to take the risk and let my back then invented tedeebhurr know that I love her. Since a week and some time ago, I’ve been starting to tell her the magic words I Love You each time before we’d sleep and before we’d hang up the last call, until one day we ended up in a drama-session.

I don’t know how we came that far, but it looks like it was finally the time, the time for both of us to decide whether to hold on or to let go. And all I knew to accompany those moments of pain was the song “Take me as I am” with the lines that struck me most “Take me as I am ’cause I’m going, I was too scared to start now I’m too scared to let go..“. She shared to me how she felt for me, and slipped a few words that have taken heck the worst out of me and squeezed tears out from my eyes -now I’m getting cheesy- while in the midst of my response to whatever unpleasant she’s been telling me I overheard a few words coming out from her mouth which go: Mahal Kita. And I went, WTF?! She loves me? Just like I have shouted out on Plurk on that very early morning of the 26th May.

I have let her repeat those words over and over again and even recorded a ringing tone when she said Love na Love na Love 25x over and over again :p I had to make her say it as often as she could -because it feels good- and because I really wanted to reassure that she isn’t saying it because she’s sleepy or anything.

On the same day when she told me those words the very first time she officially became mine, I asked her, she said yes, and both of us share joyful emotions that time that words can’t define. And again, each time when I look back to what has happened. Knowing that we just met on Plurk since the 10th Month of 2008 without sharing a word or two until the recent 24th March of 2009 all that I can say about this is, that PLURK moves in mysterious ways. Although, I really wished I’ve known her better, way before…

Ateneo’s King Eagle, Christ Tiu’s present was not really felt during one of the occassions where he scored only two points the whole game, and still the Eagles were able to pull the game away and continue their winning streak, ending the season in the 71st UAAP with a win-loss ratio of 13W and a single loss which accounts to a victorious game in favor of the FEU Tamaraws during the first round assignment when these two have met back then.

The presence of Center Rabeh Al-Hussaini might account towards the Ateneo de Manila strength and competitiveness. Even Rookie Super Star Ryan Buenafe was missing for most part of the FilOil yet they continue their winning performances against though teams like FEU which was a sneak preview on how the 72nd UAAP Finals might look like. Veteran Jai Reyes and Eric Salamat add much flare to the team both in the offense and the defense and their newest addition Oping Sumalinog might be a sound treat for the other teams that will participate in the UAAP.

It’s still difficult to call if Ateneo is still the same Ateneo it was before with the presence of the all-mighty-hailed Chris Tiu, but one thing is for sure, one thing that hasn’t changed the Ateneo way of playing the game is doing that extra pass and finding that open man. Even with the absence of Tiu, Ryan Buenafe -who is our favorite player here- might be one of the key players to lead Ateneo to a back to back UAAP victory.

Why are we making a big deal about celebrities who engage in such immoral acts?

It could possibly be that we have adopted traits of other nations who love doing so, I won’t pin point at any nation but I strongly believe that engagement in sexual activities has never been of Filipino Origin.

It saddens me to know, that a feminine artist of such high reputation got involved into such a scandal, but make no mistake, if she would not have literally f*cked Hayden Kho -who is was the boyfriend of Vicky Belo- then this would not have happened. Don’t you think so?

You can put all the blame on Hayden Kho, or you can be one of the thousands who bash Katrina Halili for what she did with her lover that moment in that 25-30 minute intimate scenario of pleasure. But what about you? You, the audience of the video, the ones seeking for the video, watching it, asking your friends and searching the internet to find it? You’re not much better than Katrina nor Hayden nor any other girl Hayden was caught on tape with.

It saddens me to know, that not only adults at the offices of their respective work places are making fun of the video, or in Filipino terms pinag-piyestahan. But due to the hurling merciless media that continues reporting about the video, the artist and related news around this issue, even our younger brothers and sisters have started paying attention to something that should not even be discussed yet to kids of such age.

We’re becoming more and more independent, and less humane. We only look at other people’s mistake but don’t look at ourselves. Is that what the Filipino has become? Or are we just contemporaneous blinded and hanging on to the media bandwagon of the scandal? I won’t deny that I have ridden along with the other thousands of readers of this blog, my personal blog and the organizational blog who were up looking for the video; but I never shared the video with anyone nor have I left publicly viewable links to sites that showcase their lustful foreplay. It was you, the community around this website who kept the evil spirit alive and detoriated the human rights of either parties.

Your comments, are your comments, and as long as you won’t bash the people working behind the scene, the comments will be yours, that’s why we did not delete a single one of them. Don’t blame us when people started sharing links for the video, blame yourselves who are looking for the video.

You can consider yourself curious about the video, but that does not makes you less innocent and guilt free than the other people who are greedy to watch it. If you strongly believe that Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili have displayed something false in whatever you may call it that they have done, consider thinking about YOU, who are watching it, just to have fun.

I hate it when Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho related news pop up in National Television, Updates about the case that might be thrown at Kho for the Sex Video with Halili or his other female partners in the past. I believe, it is something that should not be discussed so openly on the news where our younger citizens can witness how low on moral the Filipino community is. I believe we’re in no way better than them, if we not condemn displaying such eww news on television and move on with news of something more meaningful – Pacquiao disappeared in the news and was replaced with hours of Halili reports -.

Aside from my father who is bothering me every dinner, I can’t proceed with my nightly schedule of researching, reading and writing articles for the next couple of days, that’s due to one girl with whom I frequently talk to using this service called UNYT of Globe. I love talking to her, there’s nothing wrong about it, but as much as I love to talk with her, I need to get my ass straight up and get posts out and that’s something that I barely manage to do whenever we’re engaged in KULIT-ing each other.

I’m stretched on both ends and I don’t know whether I should choose to be the online type of guy or get a life in real. There’s too much at stake from both aspects and when I don’t come to manage my time better I end up with nothing productive which is the present by-product of this mind bugging confusion. I would love to repeat the success that I had with one of the big articles on this blog, but it’s the most improbable thing to happen right now based on the effort and dedication I have been exerting towards this work of mine on my blogs.

There have been times when I really felt like giving up this online blogging and let my presence on the internet drown like the titanic, but I can’t. I’m still bugged and don’t know what to do from this day on. I’m trying to discipline myself to write articles for my SEO Blog, but apparently I’ve lost my bearings succeeding yet another project that drains in water.

Pinoy Teens Online is flying on cloud nine right now, but nah, I don’t feel like celebrating it. There has always been something wrong with this blog that has touched me emotionally, while everything else seems to work out really perfectly.  So, let’s set aside those moody emotions of mine and move deeper into what has happened these past few days on Pinoy Teens Online.

Traffic first.

This blog, yes, I’m talking about this blog had a traffic spike of 61,000 visitors on May 3, which was the day when Manny Pacquiao demolished Ricky Hatton inside the ring. It’s something really amazing which I’ll be talking about later with you.

But let’s head to a bigger picture:

As you can see in that picture, we’re currently receiving an average of 8,000 visitors for the month of May due to the huge traffic spike and hold on to a all-time-high 1,900 average hits per day for the year 2009 in contrast to the very low slightly above 1,000 mark we had in average in 2008. The traffic could have never been better, and it’s yet half through May, we assume to hit the 100,000 mark for this month before it ends.

Money Money Money

We devoured three money making posts on this blog already, two of which might have been very notable while the other looks to be a little bit more deceiving, those articles have cashed in 45 in total for us, like 15 per post; and that in U.S Dollars.

We also received donations from the people who have made use of our SopCast player hawt tip on how to watch Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton live, which sums up to 30 U.S Dollars. It makes us really feel good whenever we can help people in need, and the touching story of some of our readers that time seems to be worth all the hard work to get our blog on top for a certain key phrase.

Adbrite has also been on it’s highest notes, a check worth 30 U.S Dollar is on it’s way here, while there are still 40 U.S Dollar still awaiting to mature. But what has really gained much attention in the blogoshpere, even on the blog herald, and on a known Filipino forum, was our AdSense performance which was beyond expectation exceeding all our set goals.

There you have it, a huge fat 500+ earnings in adsense with still half to go of this month, that’s due to the 350 USD one day earning that we made from the Pacquiao fight.

That’s not all, let’s go to comments.

Comments has been quite low, but I can’t deny the fact that we’ve got 800 comments on one article this month that leaves us with no complaints at all.

From Typhoon to Tropical Depression

The typhoon emong which has caused this much trouble to our brothers and sisters in the heart of Luzon will continue experience its presence for the next few days, but in a less aggressive feel, it’s predicted that the Typhoon will fade into a tropical depression and is said to remain in the Philippines until this coming Tuesday. Though it might get even better and just dissipate into a low-pressure area by then if predictions are correct.

No electricity for majority of Pangasinan

Pangasinan, who host most of the 64,000 displaced Filipinos remains with no access to electricity and this should be resored within the next couple of weeks. Aside from being left with no electricity, it’s said that nearly 3,000 houses have been totally wracked and that 4,700 houses have been slightly damaged by the typhoon that stormed the central luzon area, accumulating a total of 13,500 families or the given sum of 64,000 Filipinos displaced and homeless as of this moment.

It wouldn’t be hard, to say I love you Mom, or greet your dearest Mother a Happy Mother’s Day today, don’t you think? It’s your chance to shine and make her smile today! We’ve been to WordCamp Philippines and Mini-WordCamp Davao, we’ve been to the Mindana Bloggers Summit 2008 and to the Digital Filipino Club event, but nothing is close enough to be at the largest and l0ngest running blogging summit in the country than the iBlog5, and shoot! As usual, we’re missing on the cherry of all the events we looked forward to.

What I can remember from the sharing of Batang Yagit were a couple of tips on how to monitor your traffic using Google Analytics and WordPress Stats, he also talked about Comment related plugins (Yay, this means, WordPress is leading the dicussion) which help to get discussions going and have your readers turned into returning visitors who would come back frequently to check out new comments on posts they have started a discussion at.

Entrecard has also been tackled as this is one nice way for new blogs to gain traffc and make some rounds in the blogoshpere, it’s surely something that you can look forward to. Worst Mother’s Day Present #1: Don’t Give Nothing, Dad

Arguably, your wife is not your mother, but she’s the woman of your life who aids you in raising your children, if your poor little bastards can offer mother dearest something on her special day of her life (aside fromher birthday); then why can’t you give something on Mother’s Day? I bet she’ll be expecting something from you, especially our mommy readers out there.

Worst Mother’s Day Present  #2: Apron? Come on!

It’s Mother’s Day, and it should be you who should treat your mother on that special day, either by cooking something for her at home, or by treating her something nice at the Malls. But please, don’t forget to forget to buy her an Apron, you don’t want to remind her about the chore of cleaning the house and preparing food for you.

Worst Mother’s Day Present #3: Too big or too small clothings..

This is bad and from what ever you look at it it’s still bad, you might insult mother if you buy her something too small as this may make her look too fat, or probably the other way around if you get clothings that don’t fit her due to the huge size of the items you purchased for her. By doing so, instead of doing her a favor, you’re doing nothing good at all, even if you’d say that “you were trying to do your Mother a favor”. It’s your mother after all, and asking her size won’t be that hard.

These are just a couple of things that you should not give to your Ilaw ng Tahanan, how the Filipino families call their mommies. Hope that this helps you in picking the right gift for your female aid during your childhood years. You can try and have a look at what the Plurk community has to offer and who among the users shares common interests with you on their latest time line updates. Like they have said, the community keeps growing and growing, and I believe that the quality of discussion grows too. Make no mistake when I say that Twitter can harvest a lot traffic for your blog, Plurk can do that as well, if you just know your way around it, it’s just like on the other micro blogging services, where you have to something to click, in order to benefit.

What I’m simply trying to introduce to you is the enhanced Search feature of Plurk, which allots you to search for all the recent plurks of other plurkers in the community about the certain field of interest you are searching about. You could go ahead and look for plurks that mention “mobile” or “number” if in case there is a pretty plurker who has left their numbers within a Plurk, you could check what the community on the Life on The Line network says about Swine Flu, the NBA playoffs or simply anything and everything that you’re lookin up to.

It doesn’t only shows plurks of your friends, but all the members who have talked about the topics that you are searching. My other writers here were not of much help, though Princess was able to setup her very first and very own blog already. I’m still expecting a few other close friends to do the same. Entrecard did not only gave traffic which was of decent quality nor did it only provide me with all the bloggers who are just like any other blogger, trying to provide most exposure for their blogs, it has been a place were I learned to be confident about my blogging and the stuff that I provide to my readers. Her introduction about herself and the statement she left wasn’t quite pleasing to the ears of the Filipino audience who were able to watch Madonna Decena’s performance on YouTube or on Television for those fellow Kababayan who live in England. Self pity, was the case, exaggerating that living in the Philippines is bad, hard, and full of sacrifices. What else would you expect from other families? She’s surely not the only Filipina with the same case of trying their best to lift their families to a higher level, but self-pity won’t bringing anyone any further, especially the Filipino in general who are very fund of pitying themselves and eventually end up showing off their tragic lives without moving a finger to help themselves out.

Yes, she performs in that contest to help her family out, but she isn’t performing what she’s supposed to do (which is singing) but she’s going all the way risking her slot in the finals by trying to gain the due sympathy of the audience to help her again. I’m not saying that she’s been like that all through the contest, but based on what I have seen, there’s nothing much that recommends the opposite of my thought. It’s not Madonna who has that kind of problem but almost every citizen of the Philippines who assuming to much help from the people around them, while not even helping themselves.

“Ever since I entered this competition, it didn’t change much, I’m still poor, my kids still long for me…” those have been the words she uttered that suggest in favor of my appeal that she has been asking for the sympathy of the crowd. No one is poor in this world and certainly not her who has been blessed by being able to go abroad, earn money, join a competition like that, have hundreds of thousands of people fooled to support her; and the most important thing, have a family that she’s nurturing, rather than having no family at all. It’s not what you have that matters, but how much you matter what you have.

Readers of Pinoy Teens Online through RSS Feed are going to have a good time, as they do not need to worry to be left off-the-mark in the latest happenings in the sports scene, as all the most recent scores and hottest issues will be included in your RSS Stream that you receive via email everyday, when you are subscribed to us via Email.

I don’t want to share to this very point how I have worked a way around the WordPress Installation to enable RSS subscribers to stay updated about the latest sports while not getting penalized for duplicate content, it has required me a few hacks on the theme with “trial and errors” and somehow, I have made it.

Once again, I would like to invite everyone to read the sports blog that I will be updating as often as I could which can be found at sports.pinoyteens.net. Hope you’ll be having a great time with me there diving into the depths and the realm of sports. I have started with a short review about the Manchester United vs Tottenham game last weekend and rest assure you that a lot of more articles like that will follow:)

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur was the last fixture set for yesterdays game day,while Liverpool succeded Hull City with a exceptional 3-1 performance, and Chelsea winning at West Ham United with a 0-1 with due credit to Frank Lampards assist to Kalou who knocks the ball to the back of the net in the second half; all the pressure was on Manchester United now who had to win this match, else it would mean that Liverpool will lead the table just by goal difference, while Chelsea would have closed in three points to both of the league leaders by points before that match started.

Bent was able to upset the 66,000 Manchester United followers at Old Tafford with a goal, which was rather soon followed by another strike from Modric at the 32nd minute, 3 minutes after the opening cracker to give Tottenham a 0-2 upset advantage against Manchester United over the break, leaving the fans digusted digesting the events that took place during the first 45 minutes. But, the Spurs who were flying on cloud nine of the break had to experience a bitter second half that crushed their advantage in an instance and made them trail the game in soon time.

Carrick was assumingly fouled by Goal Keeper Gomez who strongly believes that he has got the ball and not the player, and if he had got the player, he strongly believes that he has touched the ball ahead of Fletcher, it was clear to see from the television angle, but just not convincing for the referee who awarded a penalty kick, and a yellow card for Gomez, in favor for the Manchester United side of things. Christiano Ronaldo who is up to date the most valuable player in the whole world had no problems putting the ball straight through the middle behind the net while letting Gomez move to the wrong side of the goal. It was a very important penalty because from this moment on, the whole momentum and the whole game tilted towards Manchester United, and the team, the fans, the every one at the Old Tafford could feel the electrifying effect of that deficit that was cut to only a 1-2 advantage for Tottenham.

The Red Devils evened the score on the 67th minute with a goal from Wayne Rooney and took the lead at the 68th minute with a follow-up goal from Christiano Ronaldo who was left wide open to get his header behind the net. The defensive end of Tottenham looked very fragile in these last 22 minutes of ball game, and it ended up 5-2 in favor of Manchester United who reclaimed the spot as league leaders after handing it over to Liverpool hours back when they defeated Hull.

One of the blogs that I have been following inside my Google Reader has had a couple of problems with the plugin and it’s strongly telling my mind that I shouldn’t go after installing the plugin and have the problems on my ass myself since I’ve got enough blogs aided with Intense Debate (this, this, this, this and even this). It’s only here that  I have been experiencing such problems!

Anyways, I’d like to enlist 5 reasons why you should not make use of that kind of software based on my personal experience:

• Auto-Login Feature sucks, I don’t know what’s wrong, but it’s really not working the way I would love it to.
• Spam Spam Spam – A lot of spam comments get through to moderation, even after I checked out the configuration to be at it’s most secure setting.
• SpamSpam Spam part 2 – That means even more spam gets into my email, since I would like to be updated about new comments across my blogs.
• Loading and Refreshing Issue – The speed of the plugin really bothers me at times, it causes a lot of loading problems, not mainly for the blog, but the comment section itself to get loaded at the bottom of every article.
• Why should I use it? -When WordPress itself is cool enough, and when there are tons of other internally working, light weight plugins that can get awesome jobs done for your comment area and the benefit of you and your readers? You’ve got to be kidding me that you really want to go after the features that cause you headache instead of lurking for a plugin that could maybe do just the same or better for you.

Now, if you want to make use of the plugin; I’m not saying you shouldn’t nor do I hate it, it’s just that it’s not the plugin’s time to shine on Pinoy Teens, but maybe when it’s out of its beta stages anytime sooner or later, whatever :p

It will still be a though draw to choose from these excellent boxers, but when the day comes, all talking shall take an end as the fighters themselves will make the final decision, and not the critics.

Did you do what you wanted?[2.from Blogging Tip 1.] – Actually this is in relation to the blogging tips that I have shared with you before, where I mentioned that you need to execute your thoughts in physical means, but not only keep them mentally, it won’t help you keeping these wonderful ideas in your mind!
3. What’s your own thought about your blog? – Do you consider your blog to be one of the best? How do you consider the content of it, is your content displaying your personality or are you just forced to write? If you’re just forced to do so, I highly recommend to end your blogging career today and get back any time soon when you don’t feel that way anymore.
4. Do you have blogger friends? – Some might have less, some might have many, but after all, it’s not the quantity that matters, but the qualityof your friends, and also their blogs who would link you up. These friends are the foundation of your link building, find good friends, and also be good to them too.
5. Are you determined to step up? – Just like work in real time, blogging often asks extra time from you, dropping, if you’re an EC user, link building for those seeking higher PR and thus, SERPs. It often asks a lot of energy from you and you need to be determined and steadfast with your decision to get your blog back going again.

Though, I really have to say that my blogging tips section which consists of about 3 tips so far, is a neat series that I’ll soon be expanding on, especially having the third episode, talking about “How to increase your readership, and not annoy your readers” had made an impact to some of the bloggers around me.

Moving on, earlier today, I woke up full of energy and excitement, looking forward to the ACAT or ACET Ateneo College Entrance Test, or the Ateneo College Admission Test. Since I was scheduled to have the exam between 1pm-5pm, I had to arrive at the testing venue located at Ateneo de Davao thirty minutes ahead of the schedule, and since the distance between my house and the Ateneo College Campus is quite distant, I had to leave the house pretty early at around twelve sharp. I was too shy to take any pictures for this article of mine, so there are no imagery evidence that can prove to you that I was at Ateneo (which some of my friends on Plurk doubted).

So, how was the test?

The examination fell below my expectations, not in terms of its level of difficulty, but the number of items and the time allotment. During my search on the internet about the College Entrance Tests for the Ateneo Campuses, I found out that time pressure is really a big factor here, and pacing your time with the number of items will really be the key to the success of the examinations. I don’t know if my speedy reading skill pays evidence to my score sooner or later, but somehow I have to say that I have the kind of feeling that I passed the examinations with flying colors, but I won’t commence the last word about it yet, until the 27th of this month.

The test consisted of multiple parts, and recalling what I discovered on Multiply, I saw a portion that was talking about an essay part in the test, which was not the case for the Ateneo de Davao University College Entrance Examinaton, I’ve expected something like that to pop-out and prepared myself for it, yet I was behind with dust.

Mathematics was quite controllable at some point, and the English part of the examination really cut off my head with so many choices that appeared to be the correct one made it very hard for me to get through. Especially at first when I skipped a number and had to erase ten of the other answers to fill in the left out number correctly.

After all it was nice for me to be amongst the elites for a while. It has been a long time since I last visited a Jesuit Campus after I left the Ateneo High School during my Senior Years, and with a little bit of luck, and the guiding hands of Saint Ignatius, I might just be lucky enough to be back on track where I believe I belong to, which is the Ateneo.

Before, I was just blogging away, and like I have said to some of my friends, this blogging has become more on a chore for me, playing games on my Laptop are hindering me to continue the development, and within myself there are some feelings and ideas that have altered. I’m wondering if I’m really that blogger wannabe that I was once back then, or am I just confused about all the stuff that is hitting me right now and just need time to seek a way through this adversity?

Another thought that I have in mind that this blog just won’t develop anymore is the domain itself, which indeed sounds interesting to the younger fellas of ours and the majority of the reader target for now, but it won’t live up to its meaning in the next couple of years when I grow older as I am about to hit the 18th year of my life this June 13, 2009. A name change might possibly be the case here to get things going once again, but a good question would be to what a name? And how I should do all the stressfull work once again? It’s really tiring kicking off a blog, but it’s also making me feel restless to revive something that cannot be revived anymore, the spirit that Pinoy Teens once before had owned.

I’m really clueless what I should do with this website right now, if anybody cares to take care of this website, let me know, if anyone wants to buy this crappy online space, let me know. Just free me from this task of maintaining something that I cannot anymore maintain.

Arriving at the Eastern Sunday Mass Venue

engaged Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior at his coming, resurrection from the cross. The residence from Barangay Maa were no exemption for this event, as they gathered at their very own Saint Francis Parish located at the crossing Maa/Diversion Road at the peak of this Barangay. Hundreds of people joined the event, and even more arrived for the Eastern Sunday Mass that was held after the sugat, in Visayan Terms.

Even if it was heartfelt despicable for someone like me (who had no rest for 34 hours now) to take part at this community event from the church, I have somehow made it to the venue to witness, interact, participate and enjoy the company of fellow believers who highly anticipated Christ’s resurrection as a sign of hope, and never ending love of God to his Son, and therefore his people.

I was joined by my three cousins, with their respective husbands and wife for this event, along with their children who have grown to some height already at their very young ages and still look good. I prepared myself half an hour before the mass and the play that was set for 4 in the morning and arrived slightly

It was a great and joyful experience in my Christian life, as this was the first independent time that I have had not been influenced by my parents to take part, it was a decision that I made for myself to go along and engage Christ’s resurrection. If you were not able to take part in the early mass this dawn, then you might probably’d like to attend mass now, happy eastern to all of you and may everyone of you have been blessed during this Eastern Sunday Mass!

Graduates of 2009 Pictures

This post is quiet late but it’s always better to have it published late than never. But before I proceed blabbering about the graduation. I have to say that I’m pretty much stunned and wondering how I have made it, despite the controversies that have been going with me and the school, despite all the issues and problems that I picked up along the road, I managed to march.

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – We write the 2nd of the 4th month of the 2009th year after the birth of Christ. Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas is our venue, the 56th commencement and graduation exercises of the Philippine Women’s College of Davao, High School and Tertiary Department was scheduled to be held at the said venue’s auditorium. The event was said to kick off at 9 in the morning but if my memory is keen enough, we stood up and prepared a bunch of minutes earlier and stood there, and stood there, awaiting for the opening ceremony to take place until the parents have been asked to be seated for a while as there was a delay on the program.

After a moment of tense and nervous anticipation before the graduation rites get started, it eventually started then. The first to enter were of course we, the High School Graduates of the School Year 2009 batch. Followed by our College Buds who are also part of the Graduating Batch of 2009. Administration and staff followed after the candidates for graduation, while the exact order is something that I can barely recall.

As we arrived on our seats, I have noticed a few guys painting a down curved parabola on their faces, or in simple words a sad smile. It was just so despicable to see that even the most annoying male students who used to be nuisances to the teachers and our fellow batch mates had their own grief during the ceremony, well I couldn’t really believe what I saw that moment that even those had their flows when it comes to draw farewell to each other.

After talks of one person then the other, the president then the commencement speaker, the big moment, or should I say “This is the moment” of ours that came. The graduates of the school year 2008-2009 were commenced, one at a time going up the stage to receive the empty diploma holder. Girls got mentioned first followed by us guys. And heck I tell you, I have not had felt much better throughout the school year about school activities but this time.

I felt accomplished and complete for a moment when I received that long awaited empty diploma holder (I’ll get the diploma along with the card but what’s important is that I am a certified graduate). But surely I have miles to go to arrive at my destination in life, at least I’ve met one check point.

Even recalling what happened a day earlier when I had to rush to finish signing my totally empty clearance slip makes me feel complete. Who would have thought that four the third time in a row, that I would be one of the students who would complete their clearance as the last ones to do that? I managed to finish all of the teachers but I have to admit that I was really a bit lucky there, because all of the missing subject teachers whom I didn’t saw during regular class were back on board and just a “Hello, pa-sign ng clearance po” away.

That’s how my graduation day was. Everything else was very boring that even some of the students (refer to the picture) felt asleep during the rites. And I’m too tired to share what else happened at the venue or after the event, but one thing that you could surely look forward to is a post tomorrow about the Graduation Ball which is quiet another epic to share.

There’s a big problem that is hindering me to pursue whatever stuff I would like to push through with, and it appears that I need to do something, before it gets out of control. My habit to blog has decreased and deceased. I don’t know what’s going on. Maybe a little challenge, just like I have considered one of my favorite blogs a challenge before might be just the inspiration that I need. But the next best thing that I could look up to is buying something that priceless that my 2 Dollars per day at Adsense cannot afford. I wonder when I could reach that far?

For now, I have thought about trying my best to fit in within the community, communicate with other bloggers, blog about their articles, discuss matters and of course continue what I have done the best so far, posting entertainment related articles that keep the traffic alive here. A series of blogging tips has been released here already, but it looks like no one is really interested in making use of them. And it’s also like I’m the only one who has these problems of taking care of comments right now.

I’m really down right now. Confused on where this blog is heading to, or where I am, specifically heading to. The bills are in red right now, the traffic is at minus 30% from the last month, and everything is just falling down on me. I wanted to ask one of my readers for assistance again, but I’m too ashamed, since I blabbered much about how comfy I am at paying my hosting bills. But it looks like I need to turn to my readers again to help me out for now, as I am still doing what I can to get the blog back going…. or maybe it’s already, dying?

Well, what  I have done so far since my graduation day ¹ isn’t much. I was able to get a blog started which will be authored by a friend of mine who’s other friend thought that he is involved or addressed with a emotional post that I wrote. I was also able to sort things out at my personal blog which ain’t be a blog anymore, but more like a Online Resume or Contact form (thanks to this awesome theme I found) that should represent me to people who are interested in knowing me better.

A new blog that will be authored by yours truly has also been just installed and is dubbed as the Love Bug Love Blog. Some might ask what Poetic Notes is gonna do during the mean time, but the PR update is pretty self explanatory.

Problems like this and that have worried me very often in my blogging life. And I was able to miraculously rescue myself and lift the PR4 baby during the opening of this year, which dropped to a numb PR2 two weeks of the year 2009 -until a couple of days ago- back to it’s usual standard which is a Page Rank 3 out of 10 possible marks.

Where I need to get my hands on is on how to get the comments going as I need to take more care of them. I should also find a way how I get my Technorati Statistics rise. But before anything else one of the most important things that I should look up to is getting my will to blog again. I don’t know where I have left or lost the will, the inspiration and motivation to get this blog and the others going. Plurk has become pretty addictive lately especially now where I have gained a lot of new friends and fans. I cannot do everything at the same time but have to choose, to become the blogger, or the plurkstar (befriend me) who’s right on the move

Nothing special, at least. A few remain thankful and keep hanging around this boring personality after their wish has been granted, others remain invisible towards my eye but start appearing when there’s again something that they need. My classmate who is also my crush for example, doesn’t responds to any of my text messages, but once she’s out of load, she keeps texting asking for load, and once I gave her some, my phone is silent again.

Could it be that I am too kind to other people? Well, that’s what my best friend said. I should change this personality of mine, but where and how should I start with? Stop giving away freebies? Stop contests? Stop visiting other blogs? I don’t know where I am heading to with this topic but I have to express myself just like I always do. Life is very unfair with me, because how much I’m try to have an even relation to the people around me, I always draw the shortr and become toe less respected one.

It sucks to be like me, to be asked doing things that you would never want to do, ending up being left alone once they get what they want from you. It’s hard to give stuff away when you know that the people are not going to be thankful for about your kindness.

I’m stuck in a common problem again, and I don’t know if I should pursue in helping other people. Especially those whom I’m not that close with. Being friendly to strangers or not so close people isn’t bad at all, I’ve met my close friend Graxxie through means like that and I’m happy to have met her. But there are several occasions where I deeply regret the kindness I offered… what do you think?

Mary Jean is one of the Red Cross Volunteers from Davao City and is part of the International Red Cross pack, her family which who reside here at Toril, Davao City were very worried about the situation she was in and indeed, prayers from all the people concerned about the Red Cross Hostages in Sulu have helped out.

While it is still uncertain if the Military forces at Sulu are retreating or not, it is great to hear that at least one of the captured volunteers has been set free. Mrs Lacaba has been sent to Manila for the mean time and has recently faced some Government Officials who had have a few questions asked about the situation at the camp and how the others might be.

I can’t figure how I should get along with these thousands of words on my mind right now, but let me slowly, bit by bit unfold the fury in me and get some piece of crap written down.

I won’t wonder and I won’t argue either, if there are people out there who disagree with me in the saying that Love is Blind, especially those who have a healthy sexual and emotional relationship with their respective partners, for a matter of fact, I’m also in a healthy relationship from both aspects named above right now, and I couldn’t agree more that the statement love is blind is not applicable at all times.

But it remains true for most of the time. And you cannot deny that fact. For those singles reading out there who have had their boyfriends or girlfriends before, I believe that you cannot say anything against it, while those who have found themselves in the arms of their rightly lover right now, by looking at your past, I bet you cannot say anything against it either.

Love, and a romantic relationship can never be assessed on how much you give or how much you get. Nor is it accountable to how much you love your partner or vice versa. It’s not that what matters most when engaging into a relationship, but the bond itself, the understanding of one another, of you and your lover. The respect that you show to each other and the faithfulness and loyalty of both of you.

Asking something that shouldn’t be asked yet, is never love but for certain could be labeled as lust. But since when has lust been love? Well, it’s not written in my history book or those of my friends. I can’t depict the real message that I try to carry over, but I hope you got my point somehow.

Love is blind for sure, but what blinds you isn’t always love, but the dangerous emotions thereafter. Especially girls should take care by handling these feelings sensitively, because you if you don’t, one day you end up with your legs spread and cry the next day whining, “what have I done?!”

This has been a big hole that I have digged my self into, and still I have not taken any action just yet. Nor have I done my part to take care of the comments on the blog. There’s a lot that need to be worked on and I feel so enraged by the fact that I am yet an even more under-achiever than I was a year ago. About a year ago I had a problem, the problem was in relation with my page rank, since this blog had a very little tiny page rank of 1, since it fell from it’s PR 3 before that tragic update.

I promised that I can get the problem resolved and get back on track again, and I eventually did so, I even reached a bit further than I thought, but now I’m back at a level where I need to get my ass off from the chair and get work done again. Where should I start? What should I do? Well, let’s see, but I assure you that I will find a way through this problem this summer, just like I always did during Summer Time. Expect more entertainment that should keep the blog on track with traffic, but of course interesting teen related articles to be posted by our guest posters, contributors, authors, or even me. Also, watch out for the blog network that I have worked around behind the scene as all of my blogs, yes, from the emotional, to the personal aspect are going to be moved right here, to Pinoy Teens Online as a sub domain blog.

It sounds awful, for a matter of fact that I did not improve even a bit from my statistics last year. I’m still there where I started, and I guess that’s just the sign that I need to do better this year to get a bit further than I am now expecting from myself.

• A simple design, is twice as good as a fancy one – A fancy design might look great and appealing to many people, but I tell you, the majority are not after how your site looks, but how your writing style and content appeals to them. Though, the site design still matters to them, and having the most simple and cleanest layout always gets the upper hand. And if coded with care and valid XHTML/CSS, you can even get a pogi point for the search engines.
• What you pay is what you get – Hosting is important, and you need quality hosting to give quality experience to your readers. What do you think are your readers thinking about the inavailability of your website every second page view? Well, I guess there’s not much to think about but the exit button speaks for itself. Get good hosting and you’ll be having a good life in the blogoshpere, as well.
• Don’t Auto-Play Music or Videos - It’s annoying, and the very least that people could do is stay for  moment or two on your website and then close it, unless they have some other purpose to visit your blog or are totally engaged into reading your articles, that’s if you have such high quality content to present them. Always disable the auto-play of audio and videos, it’s annoying, especially for me who’s browsing with both speakers turned on and suddenly hears multiple song across multiple blogs during blog hopping sessions. Get rid of it, or readers will get rid of you.
• Provide a full feed subscription to your readers – It’s annoying when you present a very short excerpt of a story to your readers and the people have to click through to reach your website and the whole content, why not present the article at a whole and use a plugin like the RSS Footer to encourage your readers to click on the title and leave a response to the article? Hawt TIp: You can also protect your content that way as you will be able to add a copyright message using the said plugin which displays to whoever wants to rip content using your RSS Feed.
• Present Minimal Adverts as possible (to loyal readers) – Get rid of all the advertisement for your loyal readers, because it’s annoying. And you won’t earn a cent from them. Loyal readers easily get ad blind and don’t care about advertisements anymore but look after your content (that’s why they are called loyal anyway). I forgot which plugin can be used for this one, but find a way to present advertisements to people who deserve to see it, first time visitors and those who are not that frequently on your website. This encourages people to explore your site more.
• Giving less, is having more. – Don’t hand over hundreds of clickables per page to your readers, have a search bar in the upper fold of your website, a few related articles to that what they are reading at the end of the content, and maybe display pages and categories as well, but don’t confuse them with so many links that they could click on as this might result into no clicks at all.
• Don’t write for money, write for passion – Sponsored Articles are fine. That’s only if you are able to present them in a interesting way to engage your readers, else those posts are a total failure. There are a lot of websites that allow you to earn money for your blogging, Sponsored Reviews, Pay Per Post, Buy Blog Reviews; just to name a few. Seek for opportunities that suit your blog and makes you feel comfortable to write about to have it presented well to your audience, don’t make them feel it’s a paid post, and don’t post such articles too often, you must be kidding me if you believe such are interesting enough to maintain the readership of a blog, huh?

I hope that with these couple of tips, your readership will increase and your engagement with your readers as well. Basics about Comments for a New Blog

Let’s start from the very top, where you have, let’s say, just started your blog and are looking for a couple of comments on the first few articles that you believe are worthy to receive feedback from readers and other bloggers. What would you do now?

1. Comment on other blogs -Surely, with nothing, comes nothing, or what goes around, comes around. It’s time that you explore the huge blogoshpere out there and leave comments on other blogs, blogs of your friends, blogs that are under your niche if your blog is more on a specific topic.
2. Leave relevant comments – In relation to what I said above, you should leave comments that are related to the topic, and not just say that you wish to link exchange, we’ve been doing that mistake a couple of times ago, and I bet you don’t want to be the next one to have done such mistake, it can make you loose your credibility, and if you leave nice comments, boost it. It won’t only encourage the owner of that blog to hop over to your blog, but the reader of that blog as well!

It’s easy to say something like “nice post”, “nice blog”, but that’s surely not what other people are looking for, let me ask you, are YOU looking for something like that? I bet no. Comments are there to leave feedback and eventually expand on your idea in mind contributing to the discussion.

As a starter in the blogoshpere, it’s recommended to leave let’s say ten (10) to twenty (20) comments per day on other blogs. Good feedback is a must, you don’t need to always agree with what the writer says, for as long as you can justify your point of view. The comments will come eventually, when you keep interacting in the blogoshpere like that, and let’s say that the visitors from other blogs are coming now. Are you sure that you have prepared your own blog for their comments?

How to increase interaction through optimizing your own blog

• Make it simple and quick – The usual data to be collected by leaving a comment that a user needs to input is their email address their name, and a URL if they own any website. You need nothing more. And oh, of course, their comments. Make it easy, a captcha is nice as long as it’s quick and readable for your readers, but don’t include too many steps for that. As you might know, bloggers ain’t be good readers, nor are majority of them patient enough to go through multiple steps just to leave a comment on your blog.
• Give token to your commentors – But dont do it always, else, you’ll spoil them and end up with no one leaving a comment anymore after your comment contest has ended.
• The comment form and other comments should be visible – Comments are usually seen at the bottom of each article, make them readable, user friendly and emphasize the form where the readers will type in.

It’s not only with the design of the comment area of your blog that you can start encouraging people to leave comments, but from the post itself, questionable and debatable topics usually draw the most comments, entertainment buzzers draw the attention of fans of the respective artists; you need to be creative with every post and not come along with the same tone in every article or expect the comments won’t continue flowing in.

I hope these few tips will help you along with your blogging and increase your comment rate, even if you don’t blog hop too much. But of course, giving is better than receiving, just continue blogging guys!

81 countries are expected to take part in this historic endeavor of the earth and its people. Thousands of households are expected to shut down their electricity for the Earth Hour 2009, but there’s just one catch, just a single catch that I don’t quite get.

While browsing the official earth hour 2009 website, I checked out a few news and announcements that they have published, and also took a look at the page how to take action; and bumped upon a confusing note. “Write a live blog of the event and tag it voteearth or earthhour”.

How could someone possible write a live blog post of the event if electricity is supposed to be shut? Or let’s say businesses out-of-order for an hour? At some point, there might be a few business that need to keep running, the telecommunication networks across the countries, the internet service providers, and yes, there is certainly a internet connection available for that one hour. But are you serious?

Making use of a Laptop or PC, produces light. And that’s still light however aspect you want to look at it, lights should be off for an hour, no blogging, nor nothing, just rendering ourselves to the environment, the peaceful environment without any innovative items which are not of need, but luxury.

Keep your lights off, keep your PCs off just for that one hour. And be proud to say that you, yourself have made it over the bump, the temptation of making use of your computer for that very hour and live blogging about it.

We are tasked to fight global warming, and therefore need to fight ourselves and get loose of luxurious items, such as Laptops and PCs for just an hour.  C’mon, those things are not really NEEDED, are they?

**err, I hope you got my point**

Though like I said, it hasn’t been always like that. Which makes me feel tensed this very moment until tomorrow when the names of the graduating students shall be commenced by our Principal. There are reasons that suggest that I should make it through, yet there has been a couple of reasons that contradict my glory to graduate, like the incident that I had with the school a few weeks ago about a post I had regarding a field trip. But that’s not the only problem that I have had.

I might be though to beat in terms of verbal English, I might kick-ass when it comes to computer education, but I have to pass the ball when it comes to Trigonometry and Filipino wherein I admit that I literally fail in those two departments. Who said that I am great at spelling? And who recalls me answering in front during our Trigonometry Class? No one does, while I have never done so in my one year stay as a fourth year high school student at my academe.

I’ve let chances pass by my, whilst I tried grabbing a few every now and then, a computer contest where I ended up as a runner up, and a group performance that has stunned the faculty account to the positive things that I have participated in. Being in a third-world section doesn’t matter really, but the performance of the student does. And I hope that what I have done was just good enough for me to move on another step forward, whilst I will start adjusting and try my best when it comes to my tertiary education in the soon future.

The moment of truth is closing in, tomorrow is the day, the day that all senior high school students at my academe have been waiting for. The list that beholds the people who have achieved enough to step on a level further in life, where realizations will be revealed for those who need improvements, and admirable words be uttered for those who succeed.  I fear that I won’t make it, I don’t want to fail for the second time around, and I do not have to. All that I can do for now is hope that I have made it, and enjoy my happiness as much as I can for now, before the soon day comes in bringing the truth, of who graduates, and who does not.

But first of all, let me ask you; don’t you find it senseless and boring at times when you have to view picture after picture on Friendster, facebook or Flickr? It’s very annoying, isn’t it? You’d always have to click on something and wait for the whole thing to load before you can view a picture, and then you’ve got to wait another couple of moments to view another picture. Just like any other contest or pageant, there had to be one winner, and the Mutya ng Dabaw 2009 winner is no other than Resci Angelli Rizada, who was armed with her advocacy project “Social change through social entrepreneurship”. Whilst I was unfortunately missing out the event which went on a global broadcast through their official website, I was able to sneak this bits of information from a friend who could tell you more about it.

The other contestants did not leave the Auditorium with empty hands but have had a few awards as well, while Resci Angelli went home with a smile on her face, 50,000 Pesos and other prizes. Also with money to fund her project advocacy coming from her foundation sponsors.

In this latest beta version of Firefox, the address bar has been update and optimized as well for improved performance and user friendliness for those who have seen its purpose a bit too geeky. We’ve been using Firefox 3.1 beta 3 for a couple of hours now and there’s nothing like it, so far. Everything is very much the same with the other 3.x versions of Firefox, only that this browser seems to be a little bit faster.

For those who are concerned about certain plugins and add-ons, and also themes, you need to wait before major themes, and, add-ons are going to be updated for the final release of Firefox. But that won’t be too far away! Anyways, go ahead and feel free to start using Firefox now!

Yes, the Teen Magazine that we’ve announced a couple of weeks ago won’t push through anymore, just like Kevin has told me a while ago, asking me to nail down this first post since a few months of not being active on this website, and since Kevin has announced that I will be writing again for him on this blog.

Philippine Teens who have subscribed to our feed via email or their favorite RSS readers might be disappointed, since they won’t see the site through, which was supposed to be the Philippine Teen portal for them. Nevertheless, Pinoy Teens Online will continue to exist and deliver all the information that you’re in need of. Just a couple of tweaks here and a few edits there, we’ll be back writing about the things that interest you the most, and we’ll be hosting a little contest for all the teens not only in the Philippines.

If you think that it’s easy to think what to do with your blog to get it going, I believe I can make you stand corrected because it’s totally not, and it’s costly at times. Okay, you probably think that I’m totally nuts but that is just how dedicated I am to get this blog back on track and the long thought that has cost me more than a month is over, and still, I haven’t raised a finger to get something o track because I just didn’t know where to started until I reached this point, somehow.

Blogging, isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Especially if you’re blogging for a cause beyond the one that may have moved you to start blogging at first, which is to keep a journal of all things about you. At some point in your blogs life, you come to think about money, about the traffic, the comments, the page rank, and probably Alexa, Technorati and subscribers count at Feedburner. Am I right? But that’s way not it yet, you come to think about SEO, your design and many other aspects that could need some work which slowly makes your personal blog on which you blog because of your passion to share your life to others a chore.

You think about adsense, adbrite and other means to make some money, and might even start writing articles for companies or corporations in means of sponsored posts, if needed. Hosting will be an issue and the attention to better hosting increases as your popularity increases and still you’re just thinking and thinking and thinking. Well, better let’s get something going!

In my blogging tutorials, I’ll try to narrate as best as I can the steps that I have followed to make me such a blogger I am right now. Sharing tips tricks and other valuable information to you my readers in order to help you out with your own blog and to become a better blogger than you are right now.

This will be the first lesson a lesson that is plain and simple which not everyone is aware of.

You need to turn your ideas into action. Thinking won’t lead you anywhere, but entangles yourself in a sense that you cannot get anything going.

Don’t worry if your ideas might fail you at times, don’t mind the effort that is required to get your idea to work, it’s part of the game and like I said, blogging is not that usual hobby you use to do at times, and it can be though. Especially when you want to see some dollars out of it. It would be a waste if your idea would be leaked by someone else and then fulfilled into actions, don’t you think?

Thinking about what to do is nice, but don’t limit your ideas and actions within your mind and set your ideas free into the real world. If you feel you need to edit your theme and got some ideas in mind how to do it, then do them. It won’t harm you anyway, but would be a simple step onward.

Thinking and planning is a different thing, but I guess you got the idea and the relation between these two. Get your ideas going and have healthy blog with your personal touch and be proud of what you have done with it, be proud that you worked on it and not just only thought about it!

There has been a lot of changes in the past couple of days on this domain name, for those who have been visiting us frequently, you might have noticed the huge change in design on our blog page, for those who are here for the first time, welcome to the newly designed Pinoy Teens Online.

Indeed, the design looks much simple and very unprofessional, but that is exactly what persuaded me to use this design. I needed to grab something more simpler and user friendly, vibrant color to stick to the concept, as a blog for teens, even if the topics often go beyond the teenager zone and reach as far as entertainment concerns. But that’s just one aspect that I will be working on.

Aiding me in the revival of this blog will be my dearest friend Izy Mae, as she’ll be handling topics about online games and related content that will bring out the gamer in you. There are still going to be a few design changes here and there and of course, a new link page where all the links are going to be placed. I’ll be roaming around at other blogs again to get their links up here whilst we can get ours up on their website. It’ll be a though call but I’ve made it once before about a year ago, and I strongly believe that I can repeat the fame that this blog once has brought me, even if I won’t get the fame that I once had through blogging on this domain, I hope that the day will come where I can say at least, “I’m loving blogging again..”, which I really ain’t loving this very moment I am writing.

I don’t know whether I stand on a fragile bridge between two emotions of being successfull in this blogging career of mine, or onthe rear end counting to the many hopeless bloggers who believe that they are nothign to their respective competition. There have been moments when the greed has taken over of me, and my passion of sharing and giving succeeded, it wasn’t always like this, that I would earn money from blogging, nor was it always like this that I earn this little per month from my orthodox writing. But hey, the money is in, for the second time around Google has paid me, my other advertising networks have paid me, and the direct advertising sellers have paid me as well, summing up to a total of 220 US Dollar that await to be fetched at the nearest Western Union station.

I wouldn’t mind to share more joyful thoughts and lines about how I have reached this far and provide a couple of pointers that may aid the people who wish to go this far as well. But, my arm is in pain as-I-write this, and I shall return with better articles within the next few days!

I thought about writing a review about You Changed My Life but decided not to publish the post just yet, to keep you thrilled about the movie and make you watch it by yourself first. This school holiday comes me very handy as I have got quiet a lot of things to do and work on before classes proceed again tomorrow, including a couple of projects that I have not even started with yet.¹ School will resume tomorrow on all levels of education, and all schools in the Philippines, whether it’s a public or private school, both sectors are supposed to have no class today.

Go to the world and subtract

I told you it’s a pretty unorthodox quote that you will be reading today, and I wonder like I believe most of you do too, how we could go out to the world and subtract the population in a peaceful and not harmful manner. Do you have any idea how?

I wonder if my other teenagers would agree with me that the Juniors Seniors Promenade (JS Prom) is certainly the most anticipated and most memorable high school event, but I bet that there are a few who would support my statement. Indeed, we have the Retreat for the Senior High School Students which aids us to go deeper in relation with our classmates in friends in keen spiritual, social and personal aspect, but nothing beats the JS Promenade, especially this last promenade of mine as a fourth year high school student at my academe.

Whenever you would come to ask me whether the promenade does makes some sense or is a event that I am looking forward to, you may be able to at least get a boring smile back at your question or a certain no as the answer. But I need to correct myself after last Friday, February 20, 2009 night affair. At first, it indeed looked like to be the most boring Promenade ever that I have experienced these past couple of years, but since the Prophecy of the Juniors for the Seniors onward, emotions suddenly changed.

I know, there ain’t be much of my face to see on the slideshow pictures that flashed on the screen while Trisha Villa-Abrille and Co predicted our future that might lie ahead of us, but it was the great impact, the realization the idealism that these slides have given me. “Uyy, the year is about to end, and before I know it’s ending, there’s been much that I have shared with these mates in terms of fights, conflicts, smiles and happy moments.” It touched me much, in a sense that I couldn’t help myself but listen carefully to what the people in front had to say and to take a look at my fellow batch mates, specifically classmates who paid much attention as well.

According to the prophecy of the third year Canary Class for the fourth year Yakal Class¹, I might end up as a famous online web designer, developer, programmer and entrepreneur, it looks like a tough challenge ahead of me, with infinite options to choose from about which way to go.

But guess what, that wasn’t yet half way through of the program, but just the start of a night of endless happiness.² If I would compare this years promenade to the one that I was part of last year, it was a thousand times more fruitful and productive!³ I was able to talk to the people around me, with my partner, with my crush, and with other friends who have been tables away from me.⁴ It was just the night that I don’t want to fade away without anything productive and even if I had no sleep since 2 in the morning of that very day, I was wide awake to witness all the happenings with no dizzy nor sleepy feeling.

After the class prophecy was hosted for the first two sections⁵, the dinner was served for all of us, and it just came in handy since I was able to nail down a couple of spoons of rice and a viand before arriving at the venue.⁶ During our dinner session, a couple of students performed a few lovely songs to give in some contribution to the affair, four of five expected classmates of mine performed their respective pieces of melodious tones, spear headed by Jeremiah Salmon⁷ and followed by Johnny Barlis⁸, Imee Valdellon⁹ and last but not the least, Raphael Delgado, while like I have said, one of them was unable to perform.¹⁰

There was a slight thought on my mind to do my own number, but hey, my nice song¹¹ had no minus one or any proper melody at all, and, don’t forget my ugly voice. The program proceeded then with the monotonous turning over of the key of responsibility and all the other talks that you might definitely find monotonous and a bit off the mark from what you could expect, but then, the second half, and most awaited part of the program kicked off, it was dancing time.¹²

It didn’t started well for me, as I was left on the dry by my partner who danced along with her boy friend, but I found a way through to get over to my friends and talk with them what the aftermath party would be about once it’s time to go home. But apparently, everyone was pretty busy looking for a partner to dance with for the last time¹³, so did I made myself busy looking for someone and ended up being set up by Gagandeep Singh with a short dance with my crush in school¹⁴

While I was working on my own to get to the front of the place where the occasion was held, I bumped unto several classmates, batch mates and friends of mine who wanted a little picture present to be taken by me. And eventually when I reached the stage and over looked the whole scenario, seeing all the fellow student body have a good time; I felt like dancing too, but the last question that presented itself as a hindrance to pursue the feet of mine that were starting moving along with the crowd was, with whom I should dance with at this Juniors Seniors Promenade 2009 to get things started with?

Gagandeep had something on his mind already and asked Annelu to sway around with me for a short wile. The people who knew us where teasing us¹⁵. While we held our hands together. The song didn’t quiet play along and it was just after the moments that I shared with her, holding her hands, that the song was a nice emotional one. And again I was left with empty hands. She wasn’t the only girl that I was able to dance with though, I managed to dance with the sister of my classmate¹⁶, my older crush, and a few other friends of mine, but was unable to get a sway with three girls that I was looking forward to dance with¹⁷, oh, and make that four¹⁸

I will never forget the moment that I was holding her hands with my both hands, it was a unorthodox way of dancing, but a fun way to get close to someone you like¹⁹, and use to adore for some time already. But it wasn’t really the only thing that has made me smile, but seeing my friends, and, classmates contented that evening, just as most of them had worn smiles on their faces, might they be of momentary existence or smiles that will last throughout, what matters was the feeling each and everyone had on that evening.

But let’s not forget the true essence of the promenade²⁰, the reason why he had that festive, casual, and annual event among the fourth year and third year students, the significance in regards of responsibility passed on from the seniors to the lower year. I might not have felt that pressured nor that special about the privilege, that we as their Ate’s and Kuya’s had over the year, but it indeed showed off that night as we have seen the Juniors grown a mature and moving on a step further in their lives.

Might the venue not be the most suited for a couple of factors, I can consider myself and the PWC Student Body as lucky, for even being able to celebrate this occasion in attendance with our faculty and staff; truly, not all schools exercise such formal gathering. For the third year who are reading this and still are not persuaded that the promenade is something very special; you’ll find out about it, when you’re there, in about a year from now.

Anyways, for those who have read this and had their JS Prom behind already, how was your experience? And, for those who are still awaiting their first promenade, what are you looking forward to?

But does this Karma stuff really makes sense? Or is it just ann add-on that attracts people and makes other loose interest on it? For sure, both ideas may be taken into consideration, but which weighs heavier?

I took a little survey a few hours back about social networking and social networks and emphasized there the contribution or what we can consider advantage that plurk brings to the community, but I never had in mind to discuss the hot topic, Karma. Whether it’s good nor bad, well, that’s what makes plurk a hell lot addicting unlike Twitter where mostly serious people and sensefull people reside. Though, I may not consider myself as one of those that make sense.

I won’t force the issue any longer and go deeper into the real essence of this post, trying to convince and make you understand how dangerous the world of plurk is, in a good way.

PLURK, banned at a School’s Computer Laboratory?!

The addiction of some students to the plurk service has gone that far that faculty of a certain school had to block the access to plurk.com for its students. Well, the little micro blogging service is far behind from the fame of Friendster (which is slowly going down), but heck, banning such site makes me go OMG! What’s only missing now is that Plurk will go to the default list of disallowed websites during class hours at school. But when is that going to happen?

It certainly won’t take that long when we would take a look at the second item that I have for you suggesting that Plurk is really something addictive.

Talking about Plurk is okay, but teasing each other about low karma is something different.

At some point the discussion regards to the Karma as being something negative closes to an end and leads to a few facts that speak in favor for it’s existence. Karma, somehow, is something unique that not all serices feature. It makes the fun more exciting, and more entertaining. Seeing your popularity aka Karma move up and down as you proceed your own way through the plurk world by responding to plurks, creating your owns and connecting with fellow plurkers. It has reached that far that there are even some who are quarelling because of Karma and one shouting upon the other that the latter has got less karma than the one who is speaking, in other words, they are starting teasing each other and challenging themselves get higher karma.

A good boost in karma is always a little bonus and adds confidence to ones person who’s got a high share of Karma aka Popularity, while for the latter who has not much in terms of karma, it’s quiet shameful and making them feel voiceless in the plurk world. Imagine your Twitter time line being flooded with plurks twits about what people are doing just to get their profile updated to not have their popularity fall, it would really take down ones twitting credibility if you would do such nuisance act. Who cares about how much litter of water you nailed during your morning pee session?

The issue that I am trying to raise here is that Plurk is growing, and continues to grow every minute and every plurk created. A community that has it’s pros and it’s cons and is of sorts of variety, some that talk about personal stuff, while the others discuss something more serious. Plurk is there and shall remain there for the ones who need to interact with other people in an easy and ungeeky manner, especially during the abscence of Twitter when it was so much in demand in 2008.

The addiction may lead far further and I do have a slight glimpse of what could happen in the next days or weeks to come in the plurk world. Would there even be people or should I rather say students who would cut classes just to get their time line updated? We’ve got a few crazy kids around our ages who keep killing themselves and are blood thirsty after the “first blood” and dota, and such a social gateway like plurk that slowly stands on its own feet while Friendster bows down to its knees in the recent months may be just another product of technology and the human mind that may distract the course of students at school.

Be wary, plurk is addictive.period. And if you still don’t know what it is, then it’s time that you get your own plurk account.

  • I started off with Friendster way back during my Freshmen years it was around 2005 or 2006 I guess. It’s just recently that I involved into someone who loves to hang out with online communities and socialize with people all over the internet.
• What motivates you to use or sign up to it?
  • Each social network that I am on has it’s own reasons, but for the sake of not being someone too complex and too geeky it’s because of the community that lies behind each social network, the group of people that build up each respective network of online users. Aside from this general reason I would like to point out a specific reason for using Plurk, which helps me commune with readers of websites and friends that I know on the net and in real life in a quick, easy and handy dandy way.
• What are the good things you get from using it?
  • Like I have mentioned above. You gain access to a broad array of different people of different interest with whom you can exchange ideas, befriend and discuss stuff you’d like to tackle on, and of course the ease of staying in touch with people you know in real life and on the internet.
• What are the disadvantages to you in using it?
  • Since I consider myself as someone advanced in the online world and the WWW in general, I consider SPAM (senseless pointless annoying messages) as a minor disadvantage, which for the ordinary user can cause severe damage on their image. Spam can mislead people to give personal information about themselves where the spammer may take advantage on, but that’s another topic.Aside from Spam, there’s nothing much I can think about since whatever disadvantage may come up relies on the actions you take.
• In your personal experience in using social networks, how does it affect you as a person?
  • Though I might be fund of using Social Networks, I believe that these sites “which are supposed to connect people with each other is tearing the bond between people apart.period.

Aside from the new album that is currently under production, MYMP has also secured themselves a slot during the Sunday Musical Show of ABS CBN, ASAP 09 taking part in the Sessionista’s segment joining Sitti, Nina, Richard Poon and the other big names. Parents are parents…

It’s an interesting topic to discuss on how much impact parenting does to the development of a Teenager, whether the parent contributed to the child in a good or bad way, yet that is not the only factor to consider in the building up of the character of ones kid. The people (peer) around one does also deal a very great impact, especially at times when we, Teenagers are off limits from the supervision of our parents; just the way a teenager usually wants it to be.

But, is it really good that parents often leave us to do our stuff without their supervision? Or should we have their guidance all the way, or, don’t you think that lenient parents start becoming a nuisance and eventually fall under the strict parents category? What is best now, anyway?

Parents that tend to spoil their kids are not strict

If we would ignore the other factors in the development of our characters and our attitudes then indeed, the parents are the foundation of everything, the first school that we unconsciously attend at home, the ones who taught us how to pray, how to eat well and taught us some basic rules regarding our manner in public and everything else. There might be some kids that get along well and end up with a nice attitude even if their parents are not that strict with them, while the majority of the these end up being spoiled and getting used to the goodness of their parents. And I have to admit that I am one of the spoiled kids out there; someone who is having more than he actually needs and is still craving for more.

Are your parents strict?

While at the other hand, strict parenting may end up having your child (us) end up taking revenge on our children (c’mon, don’t deny that). Whilst the majority grow up the way they should be, good in attitude, character and many other aspects. It’s hard to deter which is good as we mostly experience either one thing or the other but scarcely see our parents acting up as both fairly strict and strict in general.

Her pair John Lloyd Cruz at the other hand got the title of SM Cinema’s 2009 Box Office King for 2008 for the same movie where the two have paired. Due to the popular demand of the fans of both Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz; a sequel is scheduled to follow-up the story that was “bitin” according to many.

You Changed My Life is coming up shortly..

The sequel will be entitled You Changed My Life and is still a movie under Star Cinema. Will the tandem of these two popular movie icons and our very own Popstar Princess captivate the same amount of audience or reach farther than expected like the seem less unexpected mega success of A Very Special Love? That’s what we are going to find out on February 24, 2009, which is the premiere night of You Changed My Life to be held at a SM Cinema, and finally to be screened at your favorite cinemas near you on the 25th.

The awards for SM Cinema’s 2008 Box Office King and Queen will be awarded on February 18, 2009 at the SMX Convention Center.

My party prepared for another lazy and boring afternoon which they have been truly really corrected about. It was a awesome time, students from the grade school up to the senior graduating class of the high school department had a smile on their faces as we all together as one celebrated an event that was pretty memorable to both the student body and faculty alike.

Some sang, others danced, we simply had a good time off from the educational point of view, off from the usual problems we encounter within the limited walls of our classrooms, the community came together happily for this very celebration and for the celebration of the Valentines Day in a more silent and quiet.

Even I enjoyed the program, but it ain’t only be the program that has made this day a good one for me. I always believe that doing something ahead of time is better than doing it late. So since today was my only chance to offer a rose to my crush, I had no other choice but to do so on this very day, even if I was short on financial resources. I was happy, because she also appeared to be happy by the little item of appreciation that I have given her. ^^,)

I know my words sound very simple and the poverty of my vocabulary ain’t fit the happiness that I have seen within the boundaries of my school community that had a good time on this Teachers Day celebration; I if even can’t aid my statements with pictures but let me reassure you once again that this was really one very happy day that our teachers have enjoyed.

It is hard to be a teacher, even if it sometimes appears so easy to handle a class. It’s not like you’re in a show business where the people get paid for their work and see is as their work only. Being a teacher is something different and requires dedication and hard work to what you are doing. Let’s all give this day to all our teachers who strive hard to make us better students and thereby better inhabitants of the Philippines (and for those who are not Filipino, better citizen of the respective country you are coming from).

HAPPY TEACHERS DAY 2009

It was a heartbreaking game for the people sided the Alaska way. But there’s a huge story behind this finals game. A story wherein people stepped up, a few who rose above themselves, some who have fallen in war. I don’t know where I should start the report about the Game 7 Finals where TalkNText succeeded over Alaska, as this will be a pretty one sided one. Desperately seeking to reason out for the loss of the beloved Acers team.

The finals series was a exciting journey for all basketball fans in and out of the Philippines who have been following the finals since the first game of his best of seven series. Alaska took off with a 2-0 streak in the first two games and slowly lost the momentum as they handed over the third and the fourth to the Tropang Texters club. Clinching a slight favor with 3-2, the Texters gained advantage in the sixth game to add momentum to their play and eventually sneak away the title right in front of the Alaska Acers in the game a while ago.

Willie Miller led the Alaska team during the season and the playoffs up to the final hopeless seconds of the seventh game. L.A Tonorio aided him well in their fight for the crown but end up four points short, with four big missed free throws in the last minute and some seconds. It was a game that was meant to go for the team that could hold on better to the tension and who was luckier at the line. And that went in favor to the Tropang Texters who took advantage of the four big missed free throws of which two came from Willie Miller while Jimmy Alapag knocked down two free throws to take a four point advantage with three seconds left on the game clock.

The first quarter showcased the arsenal of ownage in favor of Alaska in terms of their defense hindering the Texters to score more than twenty points while staying on top of them by three. The second quarter at the other hand signaled the start of a though night for them and it was there where their inconsistency began when they started missing easy layups and shots from almost every corner.

A technical foul in the third quarter added to the heavy load the Alaska Acers had to carry with them unto the fourth and final twelve minute of the ball game. Trivias and facts stood against the TalkNText team who have never won a game seven series. But apparently it’s the slight underdog who succeeded this night? The Tropang Texters did not had a worry free night! Larry Fonacier alongside Willie Miller knocked don a couple of three pointers from way downtown to keep the Acers in the ball game as close as possible. A nice triple from the corner by Fonacier made the crowd go wild as the time ran out, but the inconsistency of the Acers on scoring easy layups and giveaway foul baskets has hindered them from closing in and taking the lead in the final moments.

Until two vital free throws (to tie the game) have been missed, with another two missed by Willie Miller, which has cost them the lead, possible overtime, and possible championship. That’s how life goes, we cannot have everything in life. But I surely bet that there will be a lot of my classmates absent tomorrow who lost betting on the Ateneo packed Fonacier/Tenorio line up.

The domain name itself, Pinoy Teens dot Net is under my possession since the 25th of June, 2007. It was registered for me for free on a website that gave away free domain names for some posts that you do on their board. (could you imagine that, that I got this domain name at actually no cost at all?) It was formerly registered on domainrightnow.com and eventually moved to namecheap.com before I renewed the domain for another year in the middle of 2008. These geeky information isn’t what actually matters, but the stuff that’s about to follow is what does.

Pinoy Teens Online was not always a blog or a site that you might be thinking about. It required hard work for me to reach this far. I didn’t started as a blogger, rather, a forumer who was ones administrating a forum on this very domain name. Yes, I didn’t blog yet, until March 2008 here on Pinoy Teens Online. So, what was going on between June 2007 and March 2008?

Like I have mentioned above, this domain ones served a small community of teenagers who know nothing better but spam around. Spamming in a sense of having fun posting at forums about anything but sensual topics. I often had to clear whole boards of the forum because of the posters who are just up increasing their post count and gain more friends rather than contributing to the community at a whole. I humbly started Pinoy Teens with an initial staff of less than ten members, which grew one by one, until it started growing exponentiall; until my friend Alea has come along.

Alea, has been the center of attraction of the Filipino Teen Boards, Pinoy Teens Forums or whatever you want to call it. She has been the start that kept the people coming back, the way she manages the community, entertains new members and contributes to the website, it was just phenomenal. We had 15 members back then, and I was proud to call a few of them loyalist who would always stick around through thick or thin whether or not people are going on the forum. Aly has also been one of the very few that went along before I have closed down the boards.

My humble kick off to my web development had made me earn negative 20 to 30 US Dollars and I was stuck in a little debt that time, asking for donations from other people to help out my small community and objective which originally was to simply serve as a small communication portal for a small scale count of Pinoy Teenagers. I had less than a hundred visitors (per day) and less than a dollar adsense (in a month) during August – December, where I was pretty new to all these stuff.

But what has guided me through to make it this far? And have this blog built up? Where is the community gone that once ruled this domain?
It’s gone, it’s simply gone. Nothing lasts forever, especially if you don’t take care of it and if you don’t fight for it. Everything requires a decent amount of work before it goes right but not only does it involve the effort of yourself, but the contribution of the people around you; I was just lucky enough to have someone like Alea come along my way to help me get the community established and have some sort of reputation for this domain name.

But, at the other hand you may call me unlucky for knowing her, as it’s due her and another jealous online community that our former forum was hacked, taken down, and warned to be taken down again whenever I would try to stand on my own feet again. Where was she that time? Where was that guiding girl that has helped me reach and build this community until January of 2008? She was gone, going along with another guy of the opposition.

It’s a lesson well learned that I repeatedly meet, that all things do not last forever, just like I believed our friendship would not. The contemporaneous leaving of her has created headache, eventual heartache and sorts of other pain as I tried to get the community back that I so much longed about but lost in a glimpse of time. I was alone when I started everything again, when I wrote article after article, visited blog after blog and wrote topics after topic that could interest anyone out there. And I eventually made it. The subscriber count kept growing, my target audience increased and so have I started earning myself the money to get myself out of the financial problem and run the site with my own money, but is that all yet?

I’m reaching the point of a breakdown here once again. I don’t know if I can continue to handle this blog that appears to be the most ugly website in the whole world for my eyes. What is going on with me? I cannot think of anything to share with the audience that are involved in making or breaking my site and I fear to take down each and every single word I include in each article because I don’t want to be bashed about the next latest topic that I have posted, but I have got no choice.

A year ago, a hundred visitors was more than enough to make my smile reach heaven, but a hundred at present will make me feel like I am in hell. As if this blog is nonexistent. But, when I take a look back to the start where everything has began; I recall the ideas, my happiness and joy about even a single cent of adsense income, about even a single visitor that reaches my blog. What could I ask for more? I unconsciously surpassed by target of creating a community and have created a secondary home for people aside the loyalists. I’ve got readers who stick around with me, update after update. I have got people who notice my doings and feel happy about my work.

I know, I have reached some point that ones was very impossible for me to reach, I’ve come too far to take back anything that I have under my possession and I shall continue what I have started and continue running Pinoy Teens the way I always used to run it. Never being contented about the present and always longing for a better tomorrow. This is the attitude that has helped me out making it this far, being one of the top blogs that the Philippines has ever seen. I’ve got yet miles more to walk to reach the point of being famous once again, but I shall arrive at my target, just like I arrived there about a year ago.

And besides, the advertisement that is included in the text you send is for the promotion of their website and probably to get the Free SMS Service better as the demand grows.

I’ve got the solution for you, but not really the solution that I intended to share with you. Well, let me keep things short. I’ve discovered a site, actually two sites that allow you to gather all your comments and keep track of the conversations that you are involved in. No more need to worry about your email being flooded with “there’s a new comment here, there’s a new comment there” on those hot topics you are part of. No more need to remember wherever you have left a comment because there’s this tool that can help you out pretty nicely.

Back Type is a website that allows you to gather all your comments that you have posted across the web on various websites and blogs, so that you can keep the discussion going and have a little overview of the conversations that you are part of; you can even keep track on people who are using your URL in while they leave comments who either pretend as being you, or just feel like doing so (doh).

I actually wanted to share to you CoMments.Com, which was my first choice for Comment Tracking, which is looking for a new owner after the announcement of shutting down last January 12 (the server is hell slow right now). But good that I came across a post about Back Type and gave me a new hope to track conversations of present and past.

How does Back Type Comment Gathering Works?

All that you need to be worried about is having a real email address which you need to confirm your account. Then, you have to add the URLs that you have been using in the Website/URL field when you leave comments on other blogs (which surely is your own URL, am I right?). Do some edits on your profile (who knows, you might meet some new friends), and you’re set to go, wait for a few minutes as Back Type will collect all the comments that you have posted on other blogs.

Let me introduce to you the Plurk Desktop Application, Plurk Air!

The Plurk Air is the first desktop application that I have seen for this still-new social network micro blogging service. And after using it for a couple of minutes, I have to say that is’ getting the job done pretty much comfortably and as expected. I have some other stuff on mind right now and can’t send forth a thorough review about this application, but I will publish a post once I have got some vacant time and spare brain cells to review that application bullet proof.

I hope you’ll find it useful, well I do, because I really hate to have the browser open, which tempts me to do other things like checking email, writing a post and all those stuff.

I have been watching the coverage via the kind courtesy of CNN that has also been broadcasting the event online (I watched the television broadcast).

The event was a few minutes off-pace and behind schedule but everything went smooth and nicely. It’s definitely one of the most, if not, the most watched television broadcasts in world history, where more than millions of people are expected to be watching it at their homes and around two million people from around the world in attendance at the Capitol, Washington.

Let’s see whether the newly sworn in President Barack Obama can bring about the change that he has been promising the citizens of America and whether he can stand the challenges in the field of economy and many other aspects. May the people pro and con his administration give him some time to get his plans and projects going in the next couple of weeks and let’s all recall this moment again in a couple of weeks, thinking back whether he has achieved what was expected for him or drew the shorter.

I personally believe in Barack Obama, that’s why I have been watching the Barack Obama Inauguration until this very moment (1AM PH ). And will keep watch for the next few minutes.

Update: Barack Obama has just been sworn in as President while I was editing the post.

Among the many other starts and celebrities from the international scene, Charice Pempengco is one of them, actually one of the two Filipina among the Filipinos who is a real part in the Obama President Inauguration set for the 20th January in Washington D.C. Even ahead of the scenario, Charice has made her mark.

Making all Filipinos in America proud, and definitely also all the Filipinos across all continents, Charice Pempengco was invited to sing two songs, one which is God Bless America and the other one titled One Moment in Time. It’s such an honor for her to sing God Bless America during the pre-Inaugural Ball, even getting a standing ovation makes it a big honor for her, but singing such a very important, makabayan song for the Americans makes it even more significant and made her feel even more tensed and nervous before her performance.

But guess what? Walang sablay, is all that Filipinos can say regarding Charice Pempengco singing God Bless America during Obama’s pre-Inaugural Ball. She had her job well done, and of course was featured again in the local television scenes, and is definitely not only one of the brightest (if not the brightest) in the Philippines, but surely one of the brightest stars in the International Perspective.

I won’t keep bothering you much longer for those who can’t wait to see the pre-Inaugural Ball performance of Charice Pempengco singing God Bless America, the news that were shown on Abs-Cbn is now availabe in video format on You Tube.

Credit first to the Global Voices Online that has given a little ping back to get the attention of the writing staff regarding a few unread posts which also discuss the disaster of Cagayan de Oro and it’s Misamis Oriental Region. Without them, we may not have bumped into a further detailed discussion narrated by a Mindanaoan located in Imperial Manila who talks about the experiences his fellow father members like mother, father, etc have in Cagayan de Oro.

I wonder myself why the local services and groups are not showing off their support towards their fellow Filipino who struggle right now in the Philippines, particularly the 75,000 evacuees of Northern Mindanao. The local television and the attention of the local media currently lies in other issues, concerning the dead of Erap’s Mother, the increase of Oil Price, and the victims of Gaza, but where is, if any, news about the local disaster that we are having here in our own Country?

The People living in the said, Imperial Manila, appear not to care much, if not, at all about what is happening here in Mindanao, as if they have that twisted mentality which says, “What concerns people in Manila, concerns the whole country.” Which is totally incorrect.

Cagayan de Oro has been struggling for days now, but it’s not only Cagayan de Oro that is facing trouble due to the flash floods but also it’s nearby localities like Iligan, Gingoog, Balingasag, Naawan, El Salvador, Opol, Alubijid, Initao, Manticao, and Tagoloan. Summing a total of more or less 75,000 affected people.

It’s as if the people in the Philippines are more concerned and feel more grief about the victims in Gaza, rather than their own brothers and sisters in their Mother Land, it’s really good to know that at least, there are a few hands that still wish to help without any exchange expected, unlike some politicians; who are trying to gain publicity in showing their so-called support towards the victims. Fake smiles, a few goods; that’s heck not enough for 75,000 people.

CDO Flash Flood causes from a Religious point of View

Which has really caught my attention was a comment left by one of my readers in regards to this issue where he/she states one of the ten commandments: “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me”. Why did that reader of mine come to such a commandment?

The explanation goes like this. Cagayan de Oro City hosted the Black Nazarene a few days back, which was actually just a few hours before the rain started pouring over the Cagayan de Oro and the cities nearby. And according to the one who has left a response regarding the issue on my blog post, he says that, that could have been the very reason for the rain and the flash flood. ’cause, it’s as if you’re worshiping another God, the Black Nazarene is not Jesus, by the name itself the two differ, and it’s like the people of the Church are putting more faith into the said-t0-be miraculous Nazarene than into the ones whom we should really put our faith into, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit. (well, that’s what I understand based on his comment).

While from my classmates point of view (Jonathan who has played the guy role in the Peace Role Play).

“For me, he’s not interfering with the earth because we have been given the freedom that were responsible for our own consequences, maybe in very rare occasions, why does a hosti turns into a heart shaped blood in a catholic church where statues are being worshiped?”

All of us see the event from different angles and perspectives, but after all, we’re facing the common problem, more than 75,000 misplaced brothers and sisters of ours are still out there with their future a bit unsure. Even my Uncle has joined the discussion with fellow family members a while ago about the Cagayan de Oro Flash Flood and the reasons and causes of the Flash Flood in Misamis and Cagayan.

One of my uncles is contradicting the statement that one of the readers threw in relating to the Black Nazarene, because, “if there would really be a God, if there is really someone who rules above the earth, hence he has done a lot of things wrong. Why are there young people that suffer from Cancer? Why are there Children that die on Leukemia? Doesn’t God have mercy on them?” A statement that is very common to the one that blogging friend Patrik has thrown in.

CDO Flash Flood causes in Scientific and Rational Explanation

It is a interesting topic to debate upon whether it has any relation to any religious personnel, but of course, the inpatient ones will always move to the rational side of things. Like for example Illegal Logging in the Cagayan de Oro region which contributed to the flash flood, and the soft soil that is present in Cagayan which made the place very muddy and may also be a cause to the natural disaster. But whatever the cause may be, there’s one thing that we will always gonna go back to, and that is the people who stand at the side of the victims after the event.

As far as my knowledge is concerned the only people who are really trying to help out by heart are the CDO Bloggers which are headed by the Feeding Program of Chiq Montes. But what about the other organizations? The help from Politicians, parties, and their like?

She gave us this statement to ponder our thoughts about:

The use of violence is justified in order to bring about peace.

She then gave us a few minutes to choose a position we’ll be going to defend, either strongly agreeing to the statement, agree, disagree or strongly disagree to the given statement above. I choose to disagree only for some reason that I will explain below. One thing that has struck me during the discussion was the opinion of my other classmates who choose to go the violent way, where there have even been a couple of people strongly agreeing to the use of violence in order to gain peace.

But does the use of violence really brings peace? Or not? That’s what I’ll gonna tackle here, with you.

First, I’d like to narrate to you what my other classmates idea is about the statement. Especially those who answered agree and strongly agree. They see the use of violence as inevitable, according to them war cannot be avoided and it’s happening everywhere on earth. If the other position who is aiming for peace, they will end up death or go to their weapons and fight instead. So, there’s really no other way to go.

While at the other hand, I believe (and as well as the teacher and a minority of the class) that if there’s the will then of course, there’s a way. There are many hundreds of options to choose from on how to stop a fight. It’s just that both parties need to agree on something and stop the fight. In some cases there might be one party that does not want to play along which often happens to be the violent one, what should the other side do? Reach to their guns or what?

There’s always another way out of everything, it’s just that there is a need of a third party to get a certain problem solved. But how do problems often evolve into a war?

The teacher during that hour asked two of my classmates to go to the front and do a little role play, where the scenario was the following given: The boy (Jonathan) should act like he a rubrics cube of the girl (Imee) and then ask sorry. She just let the two play along the way the want and to her surprise the issue has been immediately resolved. Which in real life ain’t be the cast in most occasions.

She then asked the two to role play as if they are mad at each other and start insulting each other (which makes the problem grow) and eventually contact their respective friends and gossip to them what has happened (which makes it an even bigger problem now). After a few moments when both parties choose their friends, she explained. “This is what is happening to some countries. Small issues become bigger ones, just because people take stands and hit each other personally instead of reconciling to each other, it often outbreaks a war between nations or even within a country just like what is happening here in Mindanao.”

In times like this there is often the need of a third party which guides them through the process of reconciling and bring about peace. It can take some years and yes, it’s not that easy to do. You may thing that the war was over here in Mindanao for a couple of years, but now it is starting again. This conflict process takes a long long time and the participation of both sides.

But what is peace anyway? Others see peace as love and harmony, the presence of trust and unity between people. While others see peace in a way of being comfortable with the people around you and not feeling any hatred towards each other at all. What do I think about peace?

Well, all of our statements given during the discussion have been pretty much similar, but I decided not to have that long statement go with me but went for a shorter, straight one. Which goes:

Peace is present in the absence of violence.

While on my way of shutting down the computer, I came across a post of my fellow blogger friend (here) and I really had to lurk deeper into what has happened and how I could help. I may not have sufficient funds to support the feeding program which is spearheaded by Cagayan de Oro`s top notch WordPress Theme Developer Chiq Montes, but I thought that blogging about the feeding program may help somehow, or at least express our concern here at Pinoy Teens in regards to our fellow needy Filipinos.

She is asking for donations of any kind, and the main method to send in donations would be by sending money via Paypal to this address: any amount would do and literally any donation that you can give is much appreciated. For the people living around the Cagayan area, you can refer to Awatiro (here) on methods to send in clothing and other goods aside from money.

The money, like mentioned above will be used to buy food and other important things that the homeless people are in need of right now. But since it is a feeding program, food will be the priority. Hopefully there is someone so kind and good hearted who will send in money and find of other ways to get in touch with the people who are working to help out the ones in need right now in Cagayan de Oro City.

I wrote this because I feel like giving the least help that I could and that is writing a post (which will also be reposted on my other blogs). According to my classmates it’s a Typhoon that is setting towards Davao City and is causing this heavy rain fall throughout the Davao Area, but, isn’t Davao a typhoon-free area? Well, that information is courtesy of my friend classmate.

Based on some random research I have conducted on the upcoming weather in Davao City for the next couple of days ahead, we’ll be experiencing more rainfall in the next few days than ever, straight until Sunday, the 18th of January. Will classes in Davao City be suspended again tomorrow because of the heavy rainfall? Let’s see.

According to the staff of the Philippine Airlines, safety of our passengers comes first and that’s why they cannot allow any flight to Cagayan de Oro as of the moment the news have been flashed on National Television. Land Transportation via Cagayan de Oro is looking bad and there’s much delay on the routes of the buses that pass through Cagayan due to the heavy flood that the city of Cagayan is experiencing.

The vast part of Misamis Oriental (the Province of Cagayan) is experiencing heavy rainfall and water flood as well. It looks like mother nature is quiet against the people from the Misamis region right now and finds its revenge through these means? I’ve been wondering all day long why the rain keeps coming and going, and coming and going, and the flood experienced by the People in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City pretty much explains everything.

Let’s pray for the 40,000+ fellow Filipinos that have lost their homes due to this natural calamity that has hit the Central Mindanao, Philippines.

Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat is one very competitive movie against the other that have been released during the MMFF 2008 and it appears to rank on the rear top of all the other movies which also had great feedback and movie reviews. Since, I was honestly unable to watc Ang Tanging Inya Nyong Lahat, I may not leave any comprehensive review about the Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat Movie of Star Cinema, yet would just like to give a little opinion here, it’s Comedy again that ruled the Metro Manila Film Festival!

My cousin, Princess, wrote a comprehensive post including all the needed information on the school issue that Kevin is entangled into, and it seems like there are new details to be added, or is this just another person who is after Kevin and tries to express his or her hatred towards him?

According to his Mother, who has told me a few moments ago, there has been a Policeman on a Motor driving back and forth our house awaiting Kevin’s arrival. She along with the other neighboors who have witnessed the incident; are quiet shocked and are wondering why such high ranking people in our community is interested in talking to him. I am not pointing my fingers at anyone and I do not intend to do so, but could this really be in relation to the issue?

Let’s anticipate his comment about this issue who will tell you more about whatever has been happening these past foury eight hours of his life.

As a spectator of all the things that have had happened to Kevin these recent twenty four hours, I believe that he is having a hard time figuring out what is right and what is wrong, whether the act that he has done a few weeks back, was good or not. What was that said incident? I may not kiss and tell anything straight regarding the issue being discussed by him and his Principal, but let me leave you a few clues to ponder upon.

It’s in about a post that he has published dated back in the year 2008 where he discussed a particular unpleasant event that took place at his school. And it seems like that particular article has made a buzz at his school right now. Alumni of the said academe have read the post and inquired the school’s administration in regards of what has happened and to verify the incident that he has reported.

His attention was raised earlier this morning, he said through Yahoo! Messenger, and he can’t believe of what is going on, why just such a little post has made such a big deal to his school. It may not have been the only displeasing post he wrote, but two. But what’s the matter about sharing your opinion to everyone, for as long as what you are writing about is true? What’s so wrong if he has missed a few details; for which is Principal has labeled him as someone `who speaks unfair` about the certain issue. Should anyone really tell him what he should write on his own domain name? Like he has been saying over and over again, the website kevinpaquet.com is his blog, and the content is what he considers to share with the other people who are reading the website and reaching the blog via search engines.

I remember him saying that he told his Principal `I would also write good things about PWC, if there are good things` and he indeed did so about the Musical Play his class and fellow fourth year students conducted in School and, what about the post about the Programming Contest that the PWC Faculty may have overseen in the said research they have conducted to find out more of his content related to school? Indeed people would rather notice the one negative deed among ten positive ones.

What annoys me much is the question that his Principal has raised, after he said that he would also share positive content whenever he has time to do so, and the question goes like this: What have you done during your Christmas Vacation? And Kevin responded something like: I blogged, I surfed the web, etc. And he eventually came to recall (unsure) his Principal saying something like, “see..” as a expression of which may lead to many conclusions.

And let me come to one conclusion. It is as if his Principal tried to point out that he did not wrote anything positive during the break (or maybe at all); contradicting his statement that whenever there is something good, he would share it.

But, does he really needs to share whenever there is something good? Did he really had time to write something good on his personal site? No, because it is his space online and he is the author of all the personal content, as like all other articles on this website go to his account which are authored by him. He is certainly not obliged to post anything positive, even in his vacant time.

Like a lot of people and a few teachers from other schools have said, the only word that may have created conflict was the usage of the word, “worst”, as he entitled the post. But does it really imply being the worst whatever that the school has conducted or rather the worst one that he has attended? Yes, people might misintepret it due to the lack of content, but still it is very own website and his content, opinion, and expressions that get published.

Where is the Freedom of Speech? Where is democracy in our Country? A big academe like his school should be able to digest this scratch his post may have done. It wasn’t his intention, but, the damage is done. While it may not also be the intention of the teachers that, that event would end up that way, but that was the way he saw it. And, everyone beholds his or her right to his or her personal opinion.

I don’t know where this issue will be heading to. Suspension? Expulsion? Or maybe just a follow up about the content that he has written? Let’s wait and see how the school will deal with the issue in the next few days and we will keep you updated about whatever is going on here.
