Kevin will be our representative to the Youth Engagement Summit 2009 in Kuala Lumpur which is backed by the South East Asian Youth for Change Movement that has been talked about the past month and a half, or even more.

I started looking for aid just last Wednesday, when I have finished all the paper work needed in order to circulate the slight financial crisis I am in right now. But apparently I’m just a day, just a mere day too late to make it all, to have, let’s say, lots of sponsorship coming from councilors and the Mayor himself during their Tuesday Session in which a good friend of my mother would have endorsed and introduced me to the group of councils. It sucks, it truly sucks. Which means that there won’t be any aid nor sponsorship from Davao City to the Youth Engagement Summit 2009 this coming week.

There’s nothing that we can do about it, and I’m of course not frustrated about it, that’s life, sometimes you gain some, sometimes you lose some, and this time it looks like we’ve lost it all by just twenty four hours; but that shouldn’t hinder me anyway to make it to the summit.

Instead, one of the secretaries or workers in the council office of one of the councilors has suggested that I should immediately pay a visit at the Sangguinan upon my arrival back in Davao City, so that I may take a little reward, sort of a certification for my effort to have made it to the Summit, and sort of a recognition for being the lone Dabawenyo Youth to have made it to such a grand, international event. At least, that is one thing that I can look forward to as a little consolation for the effort that we two have put in, in looking for anyone to help me out with the inevitable expenses that are coming.

Support for Future `Localized` Activities?

I noted that major universities and organizations, maybe even cities are coordinating with the South East Asian Change Movement and are promoting the objective and whatever attached to it to their respective youth. It looks good on my end here in Davao City, and there’s a great possibility that Davao will aid me in covering payments and helping out in organizing and promoting upcoming after-summit events. Now this is something very unexpected!

It will be a great start for Pinoy Teens to finally alter its image from a mere blog into a YOUTH blog which is actually its main purpose. (though I’m slightly off the mark, huh?) It serves also as a great opportunity to get the site promoted offline and get more teenagers and youths involved in the Pinoy Teens Online Community and Project

I feel a little sad and worried at the same time, not being able to nail a single person or company to help me out with the payments, but it looks like I have to reach out to my last resort, my parents, and it might just cost me my considered-as-bought iMac or Macbook Pro. :p

We’re talking about two of the biggest fighters of our time. Two who are best in their respective classes are finally meeting up to spell the difference between each other. It’s the deadly Manny Pacquiao who is on a great run right now facing Miguel Cotto who has a recent statistics that suggest he’s very confident about this fight, and lax too.

Many people are wondering, how come Miguel Cotto is willing to face the Pacman from the Philippines. He (Pacquiao)  looks to be in excellent fighting form right now, and his condition has been above the usual for weeks now, even prior the fight. Pacquiao really worked and practices hard, after neglecting boxing practices for bits of fame early on in his training campaigning for Miguel Cotto whilst Cotto has been practicing for weeks already that time.

It truly doesn’t matter if Manny Pacquiao practiced a month behind Cotto as he looks stronger than ever, and looks promising to provide yet another even more perfect performance inside the ring than what he did to Oscar and Ricky Hatton in the past.

Early speculations about a Mayweather Pacquiao in 2010

Pacquiao is indeed growing a little bit older, but that shouldn’t hinder him from excelling against his present opponent, I think, this is Pacquiao’s golden age, and he can still knock out a few boxers after Miguel Cotto, all depending on the result of this match. We could even see a Mayweather vs Pacquiao somewhere next year, but that’s not our concern right now.

We will never know if Manny Pacquiao will knock him out until we see it.

For all I care about now, is that Manny Pacquiao looks very deadly and that he will be one hard stone to put to pieces by Miguel Cotto. It could be the other way around, but we’ll never know until the twelve rounds run down or the clock stops due to someones knock out.

Pacman didn’t only brought his family to the light, but has made the Philippines become a more respected nation towards everyone by his contributions in his sport.

There are times when it takes more people in line with your concerns and interests to be heard by others. Yet it takes even more people to get people of higher authority help you out with your concerns and interests. But, it takes even more people, actually, everyone to achieve something, that we here are trying to achieve, which is change. Positive change to be exact, change that would please not only the majority, but all of the people.

The day we’ve all said Yes to change marks a big day for all the people in South East Asia, a step that means progress and enhancement in our region because we are in charge, the said future of the planet and of our respective countries, we, the youth of the South East.

It’s always special to note events that are driven by the younger people of the ages like ours, because whatever we do comes from the heart, and is as much as possible not manipulated by the brainwashing of politicians and the elderly people of our respective nations. The Youth of today looks dedicated for change, not only within the national walls we live in, but in our region, and eventually in the world, but how do we achieve this?

For me, what I care most about is ourselves, how we change ourselves, our lifestyle, our attitude and how we look at life and the people around us. We can’t move on and change the face of the world, when we can’t change our very own unique worlds that we live in. Problems are everywhere, even within your direct family, and if you can’t cope with them, how will you cope and carry the load of the world?

I care most about how the young ones look at themselves, what they are thinking about the future, and what they want for their future. I think, the best step forward to insert positive change in our present day communities is by informing the generation even younger than ours about it and getting them involved in activities for change.

I’m not saying that we’re not in the need of the guidance of elderly people, like the World Leaders that come together this Youth Engagement Summit, but I guess it’s time that we’ll get a first hand experience about how to deal with change and make it really happen.

Because if we’ll never do, if we’ll never truly understand the meaning, importance and purpose of introducing positive change in our countries, then there’s no really essence and importance to saying YES to change.

Let’s all start by changing ourselves, before we point at other people. And maybe, just maybe, we’ll get step closer at a peaceful and greener world.

A odd thought came to my mind when I came to realize that GMA 7 stars just can’t shine on the big screen, this for the second successive horror movie following the big disappointment Tarot which starred the sexy and hot Marian Rivera.

The thought that entered my mind came from a quick analysis of the fact that GMA 7 teleseries are usually ranking very high in Metro Manila and a few selected places nationwide, yet once these stars enter the big screen, it looks like none of their followers are going to watch them, thus it looks like GMA 7 talents are not making money from it.

Which leads me to think that audience of GMA 7 are below average class, not all, but most of them. Since the GMA 7 flop Movie Patient X still managed to sneak 14M in its first week, nationwide.

Will the next movie be another flop or shall this serve as a wake up call for their followers and audience to check out their movies again?
