With nothing but high hopes in our pockets and the bitter memories of the times when we were separated from my wife. Our flight was 6 in the morning at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). It was almost a 16 hour-flight with connecting hubs in HongKong and Vancouver, with Edmonton -final destination.<br /> <br /> In Vancouver, it was a tiring walk from the arrival tube going to immigration officer . Wherein i was asked couple of questions and finally i was given an Open Work Permit (OWP) and a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) for my daughter ( because she is just 2 years old but normally if the child is school-aged then it will be Study Permit (SP).<br /> <br /> After the long hours.. finally EDMONTON (YEG) (it was fall when we arrived - so it was fairly cold compared the weather in the Philippines.<br /> <br /> pinoy fact: as of 2008, total Filipino population in Canada numbered to 456,366. I don't have anything to complain about..but still being here it's not a walk in the park either.
