I passed!!!!!!!!!

No idea the score, or anything else, just that I passed and the rest is in the mail.

London sent the scores in NYC instead of Philly hence a bit of confusion. But I passed!!!

This means I have ONE more exam in November.

In other news, looks like I’m going to a conference in DC for 3 days on French wine.

– Is it weird looking at preschool’s already when the kid is only 8 months old?

– I still can’t believe I’m the envy of the play group since we have gotten a babysitter to see Iron Man and are scheduled to see Indy 4 this weekend.

– Very hard to believe in 19 days I retake my Unit 3 tasting exam.

– There is now a boy in the next generation! And no, we are not expecting.

– Mock exams going nicely. Still have second half to do. Will be done by end of week.

– Had first professional photos done of kid on Monday, got proofs today. Great photos and she is SUPER cute. Very hard to decide.

– If you haven’t read the book The Great Good Thing it’s well worth the read. Not a self help book, but a fantasy book, can’t wait to read rest of the trilogy.

There is something else I’m forgetting, will try to post when I remember.

For some overachieving reason a few years ago I decided I was going to learn to sew. I tried to make flannel PJ pants. Well, got the fabric cut out and sewn together, just needed a waist and hem the bottoms. And that is when I got stumped. The pattern sucked at explaining it. Finally remember to ask Mom for help. She helped me in Chicago. I finished them in Cleveland.

Things I’ve learned:
– Do the over stitch BEFORE doing the waist and hem.
– Trim the material before doing the overstitch.
– ALWAYS make sure you have the correct foot on the machine before doing an overstitch, triple check, O and C look a lot a like.

The best part is I got a belated Christmas and Birthday gift of a new sewing machine. One that doesn’t piss me off for the first 30 minutes of sewing. It’s got lots of fun bells and whistles. Best part, you can sew without a peddle. I don’t know why, but the peddle really pisses me off. I can walk and chew gum, but moving fabric with hands and pushing something your foot doesn’t work for me.

Need to take exam in June before spending too much time with the new machine. Don’t be surprised to see pictures of completed projects.

What happened to all my good luck? Did I use it all up by Monday?
