Freshly shorn 2026 fleeces!

We have just posted a number of Natural Colored BFL and Teeswater fleeces. None of our fleeces have been covered. however they have very little vm and no burrs or manure. They were not rinsed before shearing as it has been way to cold here in Michigan.

New Pelts For 2026!

We have 6 new pelts posted for 2026. There are several Romney pelts as well as Teeswaters. Some of the pelts have holes in the leather side however, it is not visible from the wool side. Most of our pelts are processed by Driftless Tannery in Argyle, Wisconsin. They are eco-friendly and women owed. Their website is: driftlesstannery.com. It is very informative about their process and the care of your pelt when you get is home.

Pitchfork Romney flock dispersed

In May, 2024, we came to the very difficult decision to disperse our Romney flock that we had started in late 1986. We have greatly enjoyed the Romney sheep and the Romney people. We are fortunate to have been able work with this breed and share their genetics throughout the US. We have retained all of our notes and lambing records from the beginning so if anyone has any questions, I hope we’ll still have the answer. Again, we are very fortunate that 3 excellent breeders purchased all of our ewes, rams and lambs. Purchasers are Cheryl Dunlap of Ohio, Phyllis Looker of Ohio and Lorre Garland of Virginia.

So, yeah, not a lot of BFL ewes were born here this year, which explains why we have none for sale. But the boys…ooooh la la!

We also have both Romney and Teeswater bulk fleeces for $5 per lb plus shipping. Our bulk fleece is composed of fleeces that for one reason or another do not meet our high standard for handspinning fleeces: they may be weathered, a bit webby, a bit short (though all are at least 3 inch staple, most are 5 in.), or have some VM, but all are perfect for machine processing. So if you need a lot of fleece for roving or felting, be sure to check them out at the bottom of the respective fleece page.

First look at our 2022 Lambs

Our 2022 lambs are still arriving, but we wanted to give everyone a chance for a quick peek at the latest arrivals. We are currently taking reservations for our 2022 lamb crop for all three breeds: Romney, Bluefaced Leicester and Teeswater. We will begin contacting prospective buyers on the list in late March / early April to confirm interest. Pictures will be posted here as the lambs arrive and time allows.
