My first ever attempt at making yogurt!
Even better it IS more than edible. It is YuMMmm! NOT as THICK as the yogurt shown on .passionate homemaking but I'm quite excited that it turned out at all. I incubated it for somewhere between 14-15 hours, btw.( It is has been in the fridge for over 24 hours at this point and does seem a little thicker:) I think I may be making this AGAIN!{{smiles}}

Homemade Strawberry Jam

Another FIRST for our weekend. While I have canned pickles(watermelon) in the past I had never made jam or jelly before. This recipe came straight from the Certo pkge. (Saturday was a great day of FIRSTS for me:) It appears like the chunks of fruit have risen in the jars. Is this normal??

Thanks to GoodWill I have a wonderful waterbath canner for 7.99 (minus the rack/insert...LOL). I mistakenly thought one of my cooling cake/cookie racks would fit inside:( I ended up with inverted pot lid....Not the best, but hey, it WORKED!

We had Great hopes on Friday! I was so excited that Goose was gonna see the LAST shuttle with me as it shot through the air and out of Earth's atmosphere! Being Central Floridians, NASA has always been a part of our lives. My paternal Granpa retired from there shortly before the Space Shuttle program began. In the 60's my maternal Granpa poured a lot of sweat into building part of the NASA facilities. I saw the very FIRST shuttle go up while in Middle School.(I'll stop with that:)

I had the tv on as the time grew close, mostly because I was waiting to see if they scrubbed the launch due to weather conditions. We watched the countdown and liftoff on TV and then RAN out the front door to search the skies.

NOTHING

BUT

CLOUDS

(with blinding sunlight bouncing off of them)

NOTHING

ALL!

Had we not been watching it all on tv we would have missed the entire event...

It was a very dissapointing moment! Fortunately, it did not set the tone for the entire weekend. God is GOOD!

Just a few more days b4 our 1st HS year "officially" begins{{smiles}}. Although, with my inquisitive Goose, school has always been "IN".
More on that subject---COMING SooN!

REcently my lil' Goose discovered a game you MAY well remember..

Chutes and Ladders.

This is not a game we played in my childhood, at least not one I REmember.
(DON"T you DARE say I am old!! ;)

It WAS a clooose game!

And ~~GLOat~~ umm CeleBRATing with "Brucee'Bruce".

We had a wonderful Independence Day. I have to admit that some of the Patriotic "Stuff" that I wanted to introduce got a "little lost" in all the cooking I did. We did dicuss how the 4th was our Country's Birthday Party. A little hard to for my DD to digest was the fact that "we" are 235 yo. A very BIG # for a 4yo..LOL

I realize my decorating skills are NOT up to par, but hey it SURE tasted good{{{grin}}} I definitely need some practice! Do any of you have traditions (patriotic or otherwise) for the 4th? Now that I have a whole year to work on my procrastinating issues I'd love to hear about them. I really want to teach Goose the meaning of the holidays we celebrate. They really are more than just an extra day of "no work and all play". Many of our holidays came about due to the great sacrifices our elders and ancestors chose to make. I believe they deserve to be truly honored!

The end of our dance year has come and gone. All my anxiety over Goose's 1st recital has fallen to the wayside. SHE DID IT! She didn't cry or jump off the stage, or pick her nose, etc. etc. etc. Amazing, isn't?? {{{GriN}}}

Wish we could have taken pics/video inside the auditorium but THAT was not allowed:(

Just yesterday, as we were driving through town, she asked me if "today was dance?"

How exactly do you explain "summer break" to a child who has no experience with it?? I guess this is actually her first "summer break" LOL
Although, it won't last long! We will start our 1st hs year (AOy0 or preK) in July and will be schooling year round. Fortunately Charlotte Mason did not believe in formal schooling at too young of an age. So, while we may be "in school" it will not look much like "regular" school. Which is good on so many levels. I think the CM method will be a very good fit for my Goose. I seem to be learning so much already, in my journey of preparation. {{smiles}}

In the not too distant past, we had another "nature jaunt" down the road a bit. (AKA East Lake Tohopekaliga). With Backpack in tow, we set out down the path......

Goose & Friend had a grand old time searching out new life in this vast remote wilderness trek! FYI IF you bring a backpack and binoculars you have "technically" gone hiking... just SO ya know! In the homeschool world, this would have counted as

4. Geography

As we will be starting our little school officially(sort of) in July, this is a Practice Run er Walk(?). Have I mentioned we have A NamE?
Proverbs & Promises Academy:) Watcha Think??? Proverbs is one of my FAVE books. As i was trying to put the name together I was listening to our local Christian radio. I believe it was a Chris Tomlin song. One of the lines was "Nothing compares to the promise I have in You". How perfect!!

I have begun to incorporate some classical music into to our daytime listening. The pictorial below captures the revulsion of the audience.

easy American Hot Dog Casserole

An All American Dinner

WARNING

This meal is GREAT for the soul

chock full of carbs, fats, and fillers

In honor of the thrilling news that our #1 enemy is finally serving out his sentence, I thought I'd share our totally American dinner from last night. It is a wonderfully easy to make, ~~cheap~~ frugal to it's core,

and,

always a Winner!

(unlike, say the maniacal coward who is all over the news)

Basic (but not all:) ingredients for Hot Dog Casserole

Heat butter in skillet.(4-6 Tbs) Slice HD is half length-wise. Cook until desired "doneness". I like mine on the browner side:)

Pull out HD's & add onion to pan. I also added minced garlic at this time.

Toast bread to crumble.

Add Hd's & onion/garlic mixture together. Layer casserole dish with mixture. WHILE this is happenin:

Cook macaroni acc. to pkg. instructions.

I added 1/2 half can of cr. of mush. soup in with the milk, butter, & chz. this time.(Not necessary but adds YummIness) Add mac. layer to casserole dish. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top. I spritzed them with with oil spray. Bake in oven at abt 350 approx. 30 minutes.

TA DA!

I went crazeee and chose Fried Okra & Squash as the side dish.^^^Luvs me some fried veges!!!!^^^

This is SUCH a versatile dish. Which I love!! This was one of the first dishes I learned to make as an "adult". The original recipe did not include the garlic, soup, or breadcrumbs. Cauliflower lined the casserole, as well. Of course, being young and broke THAT was not in my freezer... HAhaaHa!

Other additions could include any of the creamed veg. soups, frozen California Mix, diced tomatoes, dry mustard or worchesire sauce to macaroni mix (I wouldn't use them all), shredded chz to the topping...you get the idea. Use what ya have:)

Happy Friday Friends!

Spring is HERE....I'm sure you've noticed:) We have had quite the adventuresome week. (AKA the incredibly Looooong week that would NOT end) {{{grins}}}

We had a lovely "nature walk" up at East Lake Tohopekaliga. Fortunately, this is only blocks away from our little kingdom.

Yes, My Goose and our friend Roo love the little prairie bonnets.

NO, you can NOT see mine....HA!

We had some hot sunny fun taking in the wildlife, wildflowers, and "wild" people...LoL

And then we did a little gardening. Welllll, Goose did some gardening. I am very excited and have been watching daily for the first signs of life! I am so proud of her for doing this all by herself.

I was QUITE surprised to see that the toothpicks sprouted FIRST! I just hope there isn't an overcrowded toothpick/green pepper junGULL in my future{{{grin}}}

As I mentioned in my last post Homeschooling has been burrowing deep into the recesses of my mind lately. Thanks for all the great feedback Larri (Seams Inspired) and Donna (Comin' Home). You are both incredible Christian role models!! I am grateful to have Wise Women like you that I can blogSTALK!! There are so many options when it comes to Homeschooling. I think the hardest part for beginners...like ME... is getting STARTED...LOL It is very easy to get overwhelmed with all the "methods" and curriculum choices. There is so much info out in Blogsville on the subject. As an UPDATE: I am really intrigued by the Charlotte Mason/Ableside method. I'm studyN' up on it. ( in my SPARE time:) I think, at this point, that I will be using a lot of their philosophies in our "schoolin".

I have abstained from blogging for OHHHHH

2 yes TWO months.

Since that time much has happened. I'll be sharing TONS in the coming days, maybe I should say "in the near future" and NOT limit myself...LOL!
I could use some (WELL a LOT) advice puhlezzze! I would love to hear from the Blogsville trenches on how YOU budget your "bloggy" time with all the other demands of this life. In particularly, if you {A} Are a Single Parent and/or {B} live with chronic illness(s)!

AND

An even bigger ISSUE!!!
The GOOSE is 4. Pre K time here in the Sunshine State! That is, this next school year, she will be able to start at a "real" school. Which would be an incredible gift of TIME to me:) HOWeVeR, It's not about ME.

Do you homeschool, especially if you {A} Are a Single Parent and/or {B} live with chronic illness(s)???    The epic battle of Choosing the proper method, time, and place of my dd's education has been time consuming, to say the least. Quite frankly, I'm a little scared...OK a LOT:{ There are so many "issues" to consider.
Can I DO this???? Well NO, but I KNOW THE ONE WHO CAN.

I tackled another Whimsy Couture PATTERN from her Etsy shop.

Rest EASY, this was an E-file pattern/tutorial. There was no actual Tackling involved with the pattern OR the Post Man! Variations are included, which is important to any pattern, in my opinion! I really like having options which enable me to make it “my own”! Her blog is great and She has a '>linkup PARTAAAY going on and a Challenge happening! (click the pic for more details on the challenge)

These last two pics are of the matching caplet I made her. I found the tutorial at Prudent Baby! Prudent Baby is a great place to spend some time. And I do mean SOME time! There is quite a variety of subjects and tutorials!

the DETAILS:

The dress Top front&back was from a thrifted top. There is also a border at the bottom of the dress with this material. AS I am SURE you realize—The bottom of the dress is NOT in any of the photos! This is what happens when you add a fidgety 3year old & CHEAP webcam. {{GRINING widely}}

The bottom(and sleeves) of the dress were from a thrifted panel. It’s FLORAL, although you can’t Tell that, I’m sure! The apron & caplet are from the material I WON from SewMamaSew:)! I wrote about winning it <<HERE>>. The caplet is actually reversible. All three materials were used in it.

The child model is MINE. PuhLEEZZE, DO NOT report me to the Labor Board! She has all her shots up to date. She is housed, clothed, cleaned, and FED by ME! A few pics are a decent trade off…. LOL

Yes

I have jumped on the Bloggy Wagon and have a “Word of the Year”.

The first place I saw the “Word of the Year” was at Tip Junkie where Laurie is having a Giveaway! The word I have chosen is COURAGE.

There where plenty of awesome Words there(and on some other blogs, also), but the Lord laid this one on my heart while I was contemplating the idea. Courage is something I NeeD, right now, as I try to find the next path the Lord wants ME to follow HIM down!

As I have commented on some other blogs, I am, also, grateful. I was the recipient of a Gift, the Sunday before Christmas. My Life Group (aka Sunday School Class) took up a collection one Sunday (that I was not able to attend) for ME. I’m grateful that someone followed the prompting of the Holy Spirit. I am grateful for their generosity. I’m grateful for the gift. Because of them, not only was I able to give Goose something NEW for Christmas, I able to give something NEW to 3 other children. Gods GOODNESS is such a TREASURE!!

I have some finished projects to show off, as soon as I remember battery replacements for my dear wonderful camera! I know I AM “sweet talkin” a piece of equipment but it SURE can’t hurt!!… {Grins Broadly}

OK, so I made up the prozac part.:) However, now that the Holiday Madness has ended and the decorations have been whisked away(almosT), I feel the calming and serene effects of my favorite "mantra" {{{grin}}} And THAT is a whole nother post!

Grammy, Goose, and Mommy went to Animal Kingdom @ WDW this week. Courtesy of a family friend with tickets to be used up b4 the New Year! YeaAAA!
Although, Disney is in our backyard, it was the first time for Goose, well, actually the first time to Animal Kingdom for all three of us.

I might show off the blister on my thumb, IF you ask nicely:) For those of you who don't know the Tree of Life is the center of Animal Kingdom. It is HUGE!! And my lil' bro helped build it(and various other things in the AK). My Goose has christened it Uncle Bubba's Tree. After we got home she had Q&A with him about how he "builded it" :) So inquisitive for an almost 4 year old!

Santa's Goose...er....CHICKEN!

A beautiful, dreary, drizzling Saturday, in the NOT so sunny Sunshine State!
Last night we talked and talked about what a GREAT excursion we had planned for today. Grammy, Mommy & Goose had PLANS on this wonderful last Saturday before Christmas.

So what happens???

We get RAIN, that's what!!! NO playing in the snow(fake:), NO Bouncehouse, NO arts and crafts......

BUT

We DID have Breakfast with Santa!! And, a Photo Shoot(as in 1 photo--HA) And it went WELL...ahhh... NOT so WELL! She is still scared of Santa:(

We have been doing a little decorating, during the last few days. I AM aware that Christmas is only a week away....Thank You:) I found this little treasure out 'Salen, recently.

Beautiful isn't it? I got this little {{{grin}}} baby for $1. Yep, ONE DOLLAR!!! Can U Believe it??

SO what do ya think? Everything on the table AND the chair "covers" was thrifted/ gifted/UpLifted:) from various sources!  The little "dessert bowl" candleholders were my gramma's. The candles were a gift from LAST Christmas. The dessert tray/plate centerpiece, the pinecones, and the crochet doily were all thrifted. All the "linens" were gifted(except for the gold material I inserted in the frame--thrifted), as was the gold ribbon and the greenery.

That WAS fun!!

It's hard to tell in the pic but all the little specs of yellow in the flower is actually gold glitter. Too Big, too much, do ya think? The color actually accents much better than this shot shows, but I'm split on whether or not it's Over the Top.

OPINIONS puhleeeze! It's prob. gift #2 on my slightly loooong list of "todo"!

Thinking of a kitten for Christmas???? I'll be happy to help! The b&w one is DEF stayin w/ me. After losing my Siamese son Marple this spring I'm ready. I have decided to call this one Elpram Jane. My Marple was SUPPOSED to be a girl---this one IS. Marple was Siamese(white w/black) THIS one is black w/ white. It shouldn't take much detective work to figure out Her Name{{{Smile}}} Feel free to ask, though, I'll be happy to splain!

Which None Can Shut>>>Book Review 4 Tyndale :)

I'm BAAACK from another break! I missed YOU!!

A short while ago, as I was stalking Blogsville{{{grin}}} I stumbled across a blog which had a Tyndale Publishers Review button on her sidebar. As someone who loves to read, it "Caught my Eye"! As someone who has experienced salvation through Jesus Christ,  reading about His work "amongst us" is a pleasure and also, an eye opener!

ANYhoww, I signed up to "review" and picked out Which None Can Shut by Rema Goode.
DISCLAIMER: This book was provided to me by Tyndale Publishing for the purpose of Review. I receive no other compensation for my opinion than the book itself.

              The Book is a compilation of True Stories of how God is working in the Muslim World. The author writes about how her family was called to minister to Muslims in an Arab country! She writes clearly about adjustments to a different culture, with a dose of humour thrown in. Characters are introduced that the stories revolve around. Danger swirls in a fog around them. Their faithfulness to God, in a multitude of oppurtunies, gives great joy as you see miracle after miracle unfold!

Even MORE importantly, God's FAITHFULNESS to them is revealed. When there is no other way, but God's way, He is showing himself to a people who are tied to"the law" and traditions. They are a people who live in fear of retribution instead of Hope. They strive for perfection instead of clinging to The Perfect One. Despite all the barriers and dangerous possibilities, God provides great oppurtunities and great provision to this family during their daily activities.

Which None Can Shut is not what I consider a "heavy" read. However, it IS thought provoking and eye opening! It will stir your heart and drive you to your knees in prayer. It will fill you with joy as you walk (read) through story after story of God's perfect timing and as His plan is revealed.

Ironically, it is the last sentence of the prelude which resonates in my heart. "If the gates of Hell won't prevail against it, how can Islam?" That sentence is a reference to Matthew 16:18. God is working and HE can NOT be stopped! No one and no thing can overcome Our God. This was a book I could not put down!  You can find copies of Which None Can Shut Here. I highly recomend book to anyone who wants to see God's power and providence in our world today! I look forward to more from Rema Goode. I am so glad I had the oppurtunity to read it!

Happy happy happy Friday.....
NO I was NOT singing, AND, even if I was you can NOT hear me! My microphone isn't turned on HA!! {{{grin}}} Like I have a microphone:) Today has been a pretty good day. We found a small aquarium for THE babies. A good friend owns a thrift store close by; I was hoping for a larger fish bowl than the coffee pot. Instead, we SCORED a small aquarium which is probably between 1&1/2 and 2 gallons. I 'll show off sum pics tomorrow, in my SALEN post!

I was very surprised, yesterday, to find I was one of several blogs featured on Seams Inspired! That is SEW exciting!! If you have never "met" Larri, I have to tell ya SHE is a real sweetie! I love her projects. She is a Christian Mom with wonderful sewing abilities! Hop on OvEr and take a peek at her blog. You won't be disappointed:)

My Proverbs for the day:
Prov. 17:1
Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.

Who DESIRE's a dry stale crust of bread?? Not ME! (unless, they are Croutons:) I would much rather "feast" than be on the starving side!! When I stop to think about it though, Which house is the one that is actually starving??
One house has dry crust of bread BUT is filled with a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. Which means that either that is home with only ONE person OR it is a home where people USE gentle, pleasant words, where they LISTEN to one another, and where the needs of another are put before Self. A home that is Christ Centered!
The other home is full of fancy. rich, choice foods.(an elegant party is what come to mind) BUT is full of hurtful sarcasm, bitter hearts and unspoken grievances. Selfishness and Pride have the seats of Honor!

I'm SEW excited!! The wonderful ladies at Sew Mama Sew decided I deserved to win! Wellll, the random generator liked my anyways... {{{grin}}} I was a winner on their Free Fabric Fridays giveaway almost 2 weeks ago. Choosing 1 yard to pick out of all the different fabrics and prints was a LITTLE difficult! I did however, jump off into the deep end of my fabric madness and came up with a winner....AND......It is HERE. WHoooHOooo.... I'm one HaPPy DANCin fabric addict!!

I know that some of you Must being thinkin "What is WRONG with that girl???". Let me just to explain to ya'll that I have not bought NEW fabric in YEARS. Last Spring, a trio of us went on a wedding-adventure, in which I was so overwhelmed by my Big Chance to actually purchase fabric I NEVER bought any! Yes, I know, I'm a little "OFF" :)
So, of course, I had to share some PiCs of my spoils...Haha

May I present "Lovely Morning" in Eggplant by Lovely Morning. The bottom pic is just slightly darker than the top pic. The second one is the right colors. So I would just like to say THANK YOU to SEW MAMA SEW and, of course, my new Best Friend, Mr. Random Generator!
I'm very thankful for such glorious fabric!! Not that I don't love my HUUUGE pile of thrifted and gifted treasures. You'll have to excuse me~~~Fabric DOES make me Gush!!

Monday Medley.... Refashion, New aquarium, linkee luv & more:)

OH Happy DAY!
I have managed to get a little done WHoHooO!YipyipyipEEEEEEEE:)
I finally sat down with this refashioning project on an outfit for Goose. I think it's kinda cute:

I know it's alittle hard to tell but the top is a hoodie. A friend gave it to her, but it is a 3T. The pink striped material( and pink pants) came from a 3T outfit she had last year. I cut the sleeves and ruffle off the top and added them to the hoodie to make it a little longer. I also, added a lit bit of the sleeve to bottom of the pink pants to extend them as well. The hardest part of the whole thing was the sleeve add on to the hoodie. Every thing else was EASY PEASY!! Now Goose's 3T's will last another season!!

The next pics are of our new AQUARIUM!

Can you see ALL the little ones??? We stopped by A Yard Sale on Saturday. ONE yes ONE!! They had little plastic containers with these babies in them. For a couple of bucks we got approximately a dozen new Family Members:)
YOU may notice our "tank" is an upcycled coffee pot! Luckily, I had a spare out in the garage. NO I am NOT a hoarder THANK YOU!! And the little stones were also, stashed from previous projects. UNfortunately, we had to go buy the plant and water conditioner AND food. That little plant cost more than the all the fish! But, I know they need the oxygen SEWWWW.....

We aren't sure exactly what kind of fish they are. I'm almost positive they are livebearers, as those reproduce the easiest. I'm guessing that they are probably mollies or platys. Everyday, Goose asks are THEY bigger yet!???

Just a quick note, I had a comment on My Last POST that made me realize I wasn't very clear{{{grin}}}. I thought most of you would pick up the references I was making, but that was not the case. The person "IN The Media" I was referring to was the Pastor here in Florida who was threatening to burn the Korans. While I can appreciate that He does have the right to do so, I can NOT agree with him. It is MY opinion, that He should have just kept his lips closed! If you really want to make a difference, the first step is in showing that you care. Demeaning and Antagonizing only produces anger and strife.

My Proverbs for Today:

Prov. 13:10 Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

I have to ask myself:

What areas am I "proud" in spirit , instead of being humble & gentle?
Does being "right" really make things better??
Do I seek advice from the Bible and Godly Men/Women?
Am I only a "hearer" of God's Word or am I a "doer" also??

I am thankful that I serve the God who forgives me when I ask and repent. I am fortunate that my God isn't a scorekeeper. When I humble myself before Him, He is merciful and compassionate.

Meet Me on Monday Questions:)

1. What is your favorite pasta dish? Mac & cheese

2. What is the last thing you do before going to bed? I thank God for the blessings He is pouring down upon me!

3. How many nights a week do you go out to eat? We may eat out(usually fast food) once every couple of weeks or so.

4. Are you an avid book reader? I love to read. But can't always fit it in:(

5. Would you rather have x-ray vision or bionic hearing? Well. if Xray vision would enable me to find all the toys with LEAD PAINT in them, I would have to choose that. If not, I wouln't want either, the anxiety of it all would probably keep me locked in my bedroom! :)

Roosters view of Fall and my Friday LuVs

How CRAZY has Your week been?? Mine has pretty much been a roller coaster! I'd say TGIF, however my weekends aren't much different than my week. I've been TRYin to get the Fall feel here, which is a little difficult in Central Florida! :)

I have seen so many great ideas here in blogsville that I'm not sure which one gave me the idea for this. If it was YOU please let me know and I'll show some luv!

Total cost: About .50 cents

The black pan was one of those wonderful teflon coated things that flake and peel! The only cost to me was the spray paint (I had already purchased it). The little lampshades were part of a set someone had given me. The Rooster decals , the rafia and floral bits and pieces were given to me, as well:) Now, if I could only figure out what to do with them! Although, I really like them, I don't have roosters anywhere! Any ideas??

Hard words to meditate on! We all love to "chat"{{{grin}}} And while it would be quite easy to mention CERTAIN people in the Media right now, I won't. While it would be SO easy to point fingers at CERTAIN people living in the great state of FLORIDA and in particular, GAINSVILLE(No I DON"T mean the Gators:) I WILL NOT. The people I WILL NOT mention certainly don't need to be advertised!

INSTEAD, I will FOCUS on myself!

The Bible is pretty clear on the power of the tongue. When I speak there are several things that I MUST do my best to remember and restrain from doing. That would include :

Being Hateful when I feel attacked or wounded by someone else.

Betraying a Confidence.

Speaking without THINKing!

Gossip.

Being Negative.

I've def. got my work cut out for me! Which is why I need to Focus on myself:)

What a weekend it has been. We will be eating with friends tonite in celebration of LABOR. I 'm not sure that I want to Celebrate LABOR--it was pretty intense! Yes, I know Corny joke:)

If you taken a gander at my sidebar, then you know I've committed to DEstashing, and REpurposing.....
I may never get this finished {{{grin}}}. Here is a pretty quick project that is a great Fall piece. I hopped around several sites looking at ideas, but I'm not sure which one this ~~spawned~~ spun off of. SO, if you see this and it was YOURS, please let me know. I will give the appropriate credit!

I made a template from the "kix" box. The main body fabric was cut from a pair of "thrifty" pants. The felt, rickrack and scraps were all thrifted by me OR gifted to me!

I am Seeing more "hooties" in my future:) I might just make a dent in my Stash! hahawhoheeha

And My Meet Me on Monday questions are:
1. Do you wear socks to bed?   YES, although I hate it! Because of health issues my feet can get very painful. Wearing socks (pretty much Around the Clock) is a big help!

2. Do you have any pets?   YES, we have Goose's two "pretty birds" aka finches and a female cat named Tigger.

3. What topping(s) do you like on your pizza? Pepperoni, olives, peppers, onions, mushrooms, ham, sausage, tomato, spinach, cheese----pretty much everything:)

4. What time do you go to bed? When I get there! Anywhere from 11:00 to 1:00

5. Would you rather get free chocolate for one year or free potatoes forever?
     Ummm.....Chocolate! HellOOO:)

I want to use my time wisely and be industrious. This is a struggle for me. I am not very good at "scheduling". And, I always expect more from myself than I actually am able to do.....which then is turned into condemnation by the "Liar"(Satan). Being a single mom is hard enough. Throw in chronic health problems and you've a nice mess! This verse(and the following verses) tell me that I need to prioritize better and focus on the things that truly are important (or put another way "in season") and need to be done first! I also, need to stop allowing condemnation to creep in. Even the ants have plenty of work to do "tomorrow". Why should I expect myself to "do it all"??

Small Treasure Tuesday Fall LUV

One of my fav things about TUESDAY is.....Small Treasure Tuesday with Chantal at My Thoughts and Treasures!

While this may only be a MINOR treasure to some, it is a HUGE treasure to ME!!! Last week we attended the first "tailgate" party of the season...WHOOOHOOOO:) (actually, the kickoff for our fall schedule at FBCSt.Cloud) 3generations of our family attended. It was a lot of fun! So, Today I'm thankful for this time of year!! CUZ I {{{LuV}}} me some football:) ,

Can't tell WE are STEELER fans can ya???

And I am excited about the new class I'll be taking. The book is called "The Frazzled Female". Not sure if any of us can RELATE(Grin)! It's the new Wednesday night Ladies class at church!

While I don't exactly work with "wool and flax" I do have WORK to do. Granted it mainly consists of HOUSEWORK and Childcare (Goose), but it IS work! I'm sure you agree:) I think God's Word is reminding me to go about my day "with eager hands". Perhaps it would help if I started looking at the impact my life has on those in my little world. Of the importance of Child Rearing and the lessons I am teaching her, throughout the day. I must confess, I am not always Eager to jump into the things that must be done. I hope this verse will come to mind the next time I start to feel that way! How about you??

OH yea.....I almost forgot, a Mr. Coffee coffe maker....

And that wasn't even ALL of the "Loot"! For the most part, the Clothing was all .50 apiece(except for the scrubs) and the Coffe maker came in at a WHOPPIN $3.00! Which is a little more than the last 2 makers I've scored. On a good note, I managed to get him down from $5.00. FYI, It doesn't matter if I go out and buy one of the expensive NEW ones....CUZ the just don't last. True confessions of a Coffee ADDICT!! This is my 3rd coffee pot in 3 years. I've spent $5.00 total on them:)

Blessed is the man who always fears the Lord, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

To "fear God" is to obey and honor Him. When I determine my own course, when I fail to heed His Word, AND/OR the gentle tugging on my heart by the Spirit, I am hardening my heart. My past is full of that AND the consequences! I can only pray that my future will include a gentle, malleable, teachable heart.
