What a great time we had photographing Duane Lawson and Colleen Harris wedding at The Club Continental in Jacksonville, Florida over Labor Day Weekend. The weather was just perfect with blue skies, nice warm day that was not too hot but has some pretty crazy humidity. But that is expected when shooting in Florida in a tropical setting. The Club Continental was the perfect location for this couple and to show off their personal style and tropical location.

Duane & Colleen have known each other for 9 years now and have dated for half of those years! Duane attended the same church as Colleen and once they started dating they were high school sweethearts for the remaining years and throughout some years of college. Due to the long distance relationship, Duane being at UF in Florida, and Colleen being at Ohio State, they decided to break things off but to continue being friends. They pursued a long distance relationship from Chicago to California (2,071 miles!) for 8 months. With Duane’s Navy transfer from San Diego, CA to Jacksonville, FL, Colleen decided to join him in the move to the Sunshine State! She bought a one way ticket from Chicago to San Diego, embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime USA Cross Country Road trip with Duane & now they are both happily settled in their new home in Jacksonville!

I was told that all you need in life is love and everything else will fall in to place. Duane and Colleen had such a strong love connection that in the end they ended up happily ever after in Jacksonville, Florida.

Congratulations Colleen and Duane. We wish you the best of luck in life, love and happiness! Here is a teaser photo from your amazing day. I think it pretty much sums up the day and your love. When I get the rest done in the next coming weeks I will post more.

What an amazing engagement session we had with Tom and Stephanie. We were set for a 7:00pm session but the weather decided it wanted to roll some rain clouds in on us. Thankfully the rain held off until we were done. Literally seconds after we got in the car it poured. I love rain clouds because of the effects you can get if played right. Check out a few of my favorites from our session in Pittsburgh during the Steelers preseason opener. We ventured down to Heinz Field since Pittsburgh, Steelers and Heinz Field has a special memory for Tom and Steph.

Andrea Mackey and Nick Mendolia were married at Holy Child and Bridgeville, PA and their wonderful reception was at Bella Sera by Grecos. Jill Draper and Jeff Ackermann are engaged and set to be married in sumer 2011! We can not wait to shoot their wedding! Plus my wife is going to be in the wedding party so this puts more pressure on me to do an even more amazing job!

Jill and Jeff are both teachers, coaches and huge sports fans so we ventured around Heinz Field and PNC Park and along the North Shore in Pittsburgh, PA.
