Disney Cruise Line Changed the Construction Schedule!!

I have seen this all over the internet but I would not post until I saw confirmation from a reliable Disney related source. I will state clearly what is my opinion and speculation.

If you have been keeping up with the Disney Cruise Line Fleet you know the fleet is expanding and a crazy rate!! Between 2027 and 2031 there was to be a ship a year delivered. By 2031 there was to be 13 ships in the Disney Fleet. That has changed!!! I will first share the original schedule and then the change along with what I think it may possibly mean. Between all the expansion and the addition of Galveston Tx, and San Diego, Ca as new year-round homeports things are going to be exciting for DCL!

First off let me tell you what was to happen. Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure joined the fleet at the end of 2025. This brought the fleet to 8 ships. What was next?

2027 – Sometime towards the end of 2027, October to December, Disney Believe the 4^th Disney Wish-Class ship will join the fleet.
2028/29 – A 5^th Wish-Class ship was to join the fleet. This ship is being built for the Orenthal Land Company that owns and operates Tokyo Disneyland. It will be homeported in Tokyo, Japan.
2029 – The first of a new unnamed class of ship was to be released. This will be the first in the 5^th-Class of ships in the Disney Fleet. We know it will be larger than the classic ships, Magic and Wonder and 20% smaller than the Dream-Class ships. It will hold approximately 3,000 guests. That is 400-600 more than the Classic-Class and 1,000 guests less than the Dream-Class ships.
2030 – The second of the new class of ships was to be released.
2031 – the third and final of the new class of ships was to be delivered.

This is what has changed:

2027 - Disney Believe will join the fleet at the end of the year, between October and December.
2028 will have no new ship released.
2029, I believe this is order of the three ships joining the fleet that year!

First of the 5^th-Class of ships. (Early 2029, January-February)
5^th and final Wish-Class ship for Japan. (More may be ordered later if OLC finds it lucrative. I believe it will also be delivered early 2029)
Second of the 5^th-Class of ships. I think it will be delivered near the end of 2029.)

2030 – the Third and final 5^th-Class of ships will be delivered. This ship is hard to pin down a time for delivery. We will need to wait until we see the construction start date.

Why did Disney change the schedule? Here is my speculation. During the 3^rd QC earnings call Disney said things are being moved up because the Cruise Line is very profitable, even with the costs of building all of these ships. I believe more ships will be orders because the more ships the more money they will make.

These are my thoughts and opinions! Nothing is fact here. What does this mean for the future of DCL? I honestly believe that the order of even more ships will be announced! I believe this and more information about the Disney Believe ship that is currently under construction will be made during the D23 Expo this month. Yes, I will be following and sharing the news and my thoughts about it.

This is complete speculation! Disney Cruise Line truly has a global reach. They have been in Europe, South Pacific, Singapore and all three coasts of the USA. (East, West and even Gulf Coasts have had Disney cruises.) The possibilities are endless!! More West Coast cruises? For sure!! That is in the works but even more could happen! More cruises in the Gulf Coast? That is the plan already but more could happen! Florida having more Disney Ships? It is possible for sure! That is their major location! Maybe sending a second ship to Europe for the summers? May happen! Head back to Austrillia? Austrillia LOVES their Disney Cruises and misses having the Disney Wonder there! I would not count it out. We will just have to wait and see where DCL goes from here!

What do you need to take in your Carry-On bags for a Disney Cruise?

Understand that Carry-On bags need to stay with you until your cabin is available. They will sit in the dining room with you while you eat lunch and be dragged around while you look around the ship. Your Cabin will not be available until sometime between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm, maybe even later. Why even bother with Carry-On bags? Just carry your ID/Citizenship docs and paperwork. That is all you need to carry on. The rest will be delivered to your cabin so why fuss. Remember checked suitcases will start arriving at the cabins around 2:30 but may not even show up until the next morning. Because of that I suggest making sure you have everything you need until morning. This way if the bags don’t show up you are not stuck without your necessary items. You have clothes to change into for dinner if you wish, PJ’s, Toiletry Items and medical items. Have littles? This includes things like comfort items like blankies and stuffies. Have someone with a disability? Besides their medical items think about comfort and communication items. Anything that helps them and you is worth carrying on. Be aware that having prohibited items in your checked bags WILL delay your bags getting to your cabin because they require further screening due to the found prohibited item.

Make sure you have your ID and Citizenship Documents available in easy reach. I suggest taking things you don’t wish to risk losing or having damaged in carry on. Disney does a great job handling your bags. Disney crew is not the only set of people handling your bags. You hand your bags to the port works between handing them over and them being delivered to your cabin. Things go missing and even go into the deep blue sea. There are items you can’t check in like Wine, Beer and Bottled Water and food items, unless the food item is medically necessary.

If it is valuable, fragile, would be damaged if it goes for a swim, medical related (equipment and/or medication) or something you will need like swimsuits or a change of clothing for later in the day MAKE SURE TO CARRY IT ON!

Minor side note. I personally know of 2 separate incidences when bags fell off trolleys into the ocean when being removed from the ship by the port staff. I have heard of more. First a family lost a couple bags that fell off a trolly. It had a communications device and comfort items for a young lad on the spectrum. I also know of a FULL TROLLY of suitcases that went overboard! The Port and Disney had divers go looking for the bags. The ship was delayed at the port. The 2 families we know were affected by these mishaps lost everything in the suitcases. First family was disembarking the ship and the second family was boarding the same ship!

From this video I’m giving my opinion on what the 3^rd dining room could be. I believe it has to be a musical type movie so I’m leaving off anything without a good sound track. I’m also leaving off any that have already had a show done in a restaurant on another ship.

My guess is either Moana or Encanto with the possibility of Snow White.

For a new stage show just for Believe, again looking at the movie list and thinking of Musical Movie and there is not another ship with that on it. Little Mermaid and Moana because they are on other ships already.

If they choose to go non-musical they could do, Inside Out, Big Hero 6, Zootopia or Monster’s Inc

The Lobby Statue could be any of the main characters from the stated moves. The Stern Character could be Tinker Bell or any character that represents Believe.

When Should You Fly Into the Port Area Before Your Cruise?

You have booked a cruise! Does not matter the port or line. Now you need to fly to the nearest airport to the port to get to your ship. You don’t have to be on the ship until sometime between 3 and 5 pm, your cruise documents will tell you when the latest is you can board. Remember, going on a cruise is not like going to an Amusement or Theme Park or a Resort. If you miss boarding on time you miss the cruise! The ship will not wait for you! Your choices are to pay out of pocket to meet it at the next port or hopefully you have trip insurance and can recover the money spent for the cruise.

You have the choice of flying in the day of boarding the cruise if you can get an earlier enough flight. Example you find a flight that comes in at 9 am. The port is a 3-hour drive from the airport. You have a last boarding call of 3pm. Why not fly in early in the morning? You can be at the port by noon or maybe 1 pm. You have 2-hours of slush. That should work, right??? The other choice is to fly in the day before or maybe add another day. Fly in early and stay at a hotel.

Pros and Cons of Flying in the same day you board:

Pros:

Less time away from home/job.
Less money because you are not paying for a hotel.
Less money spent on eating out because you are staying at a hotel.
Many cruise lines have transportation from the airport to the port, so transportation from the airport is easy.

Cons:

Just the stress alone of trying to get through the airport(s) and making any connecting flights can ruin your attitude for the entire trip, destroying your vacation.
What happens if there is a flight cancelation or delay of any kind? (Just check the FAA records for the number of flight delays and cancelations that are happening daily right now. It is a scary high number!) You could miss your cruise and lose the money you spent on your vacation!
What happens if there is a luggage issue? The airline would not have time to possibly find it and get it to you before the cruise.

Pros and Cons of flying in a day or 2 before you board the ship:

Pros:

Less stress.
You can explore the local area or just relax at the hotel.
Even if there is a flight delay or cancelation you should have time to catch the next available flight or make other travel arrangements.
If there is a time zone shift it allows your body a chance to compensate.
You are already near the port giving you less stress getting to the port.
You may be able to board earlier than flying in the day of embarkation and therefore start the vacation/cruise early!

Cons:

You have to pay for a hotel room.
You have to pay for meals on the days you are there at the hotel.
You need to find transportation from the hotel to the port.
What do you do for the extra days? Explore the area or stay at the hotel?

Things to look at while making the decision when to fly.

How far is the Port from the airport? Some ports are 5 minutes away from the airport and some are 3 hours away.
Can you find a hotel that the cruise line picks up from?
Can you find a hotel with a low cost or even free shuttle to the port?
Some hotels have free shuttles from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport. Maybe stay at one of the hotels that has an airport shuttle and take it back to the airport to catch the cruise line transportation to the port.
Would renting a car be a better option for you and your travel party? Most Cruise Lines charge for their shuttle from the airport. If your party is on the larger side renting a large vehicle to use from the airport to the hotel then turn it in and get another vehicle to ride back to the airport.
What is the weather like when you are flying? Hurricane Season, Snow Storms?
What is going on with the Airline industry and TSA. Are there known problems causing delays and cancelations.

What if you are driving from 2 or more hours away? Personally, I do believe you should go the day before and stay at a hotel to make embarkation more relaxed. I know where we live traffic can go from bad to complete stand still and stay there for hours! What should be a 1 hour trip can turn into 4 or 5. The only time I think it is ok not to go at least the day before is if you live locally to the port you are sailing from. 2 hours or less. Even at 2 hours I say watch traffic and leave early.

In the end it is up to you what you decide. You know what is best for your family/travel party and life situation. It is your vacation and your money. If you MUST fly in the day you board I highly recommend you have trip insurance and make sure it covers flights and other travel related problems keeping you from boarding the ship.

Disney Cruise Line Shows Commitment to Sailing Alaska!

On July 22^nd, 2026 Disney Cruise Line and the Huna Totem Corporation signed an agreement for preferred docking at Ice Straight for DCL ships.

Here are the known take aways:

Disney gets their choice of dock location once per week.
Disney agrees to stop at Icy Straight once per week during the summer season.
Disney agrees to bring a predetermined number of guests of guests each season.
This contract will be up for renewal in 2040.

Here is what we don’t know:

What day each week DCL will port at Icy Straight.
How much extra is DCL paying for the preferred dock.
How many people does DCL agree to bring to Icy Straight each week/season.
What ship will be going there.

What does this agreement tell us about the future of DCL and Summer Alaskan Cruises:

DCL went from 1 ship to 2 ships sailing in Alaska for the summers with Magic joining Wonder in this year, 2026.
DCL is committed to continuing sailing to Alaska in the long term.
Alaska Cruises are lucrative for DCL and other lines.

What do I see happening:

At this point in time there are 3 different contracts, both involving Disney Magic and Wonder that, when looked at together give us some very interesting possibilities for West Coast and Alaska Cruising.

First DCL signed a contract with Catalina Island for preferred port status in 2025:

There are several interesting things. DCL will pay extra per guests when they port there for the preferred port status.
This contract is good for 5 years with 2 possible 5 year renewal clauses. It will last until 2035 but could be lengthened.
Starting mid September, 2027 and continuing to mid May, 2028, DCL Magic and Wonder will stop at Catalina Island twice per week. Both ships are named in the Contract. Starting mid May 2028 there will be 1 ships stopping at Catalina per week. To make it simple. Mid September to Mid-May 2 ships will stop at Catalina. From Mid-May to Mid-September only 1 ship will stop at Catalina.
The contract between DCL and Catalina specifies Magic and Wonder will be the 2 main ships porting there but it does says there may be a 3^rd unnamed ship docking there.

The second contract signed was with San Diego, Ca. DCL has signed an agreement to have as many as 2 ships at San Diego year-round.

The San Diego Port Contract is like the Catalina Island Contract. It states that Magic and Wonder will be there.
It does not mention any 3^rd ship but that does not mean there can not be.
It says the same schedule of 2 ships vs 1 ship as the Catalina Island.

If we put the 3 contracts together I believe it is saying there will be as many as 3 ships between San Diego, Ca and Alaska sailings. Let me break that down.

Starting in 2027 Mid-September to Mid May both Disney Magic and Wonder will be sailing out of San Diego doing Baja and Mexican Cruises of various lengths. They will continue doing this until 2040 at least.

Starting 2028 Mid-May to Mid-September

I believe a 3^rd ship, this is my speculation, will join Magic and Wonder in San Diego in April or Early May doing one or 2 short sailings to Mexico/Baja.
Mid-May 2 of the 3 ships will go to Alaska for the summer season.
The 3^rd ship will stay in San Diego for the summer sailing season going to Mexico and Baja.
In 2028 Mid-September the 2 ships that went to Alaska will return to San Diego. Disney Magic and Wonder will go back to sailing Baja and Mexican cruises from San Diego. The 3^rd ship will go to the East Coast or maybe Texas to do sailings from one of those 3 ports.

Cruising Disney with Special Needs

As with anything/anyplace advocate for yourself.

Make your needs known and do not feel ashamed for asking for assistance.

Remember, no business or person can help if you do not express the need.

What are Special Needs? Here is a short and not totally inclusive list:

· Limited Mobility and use of Mobility Aids that includes; cane, crutches, walker, wheelchair or scooter.

· Hearing Impaired

· Visually Impaired

· Cognitively Impaired

· Neurodivergent

· Medically Fragile

· Diabetic

· Food Allegis

· Sensitivity to Lights and Sound

What does DCL offer in the way of help?

Again, this is not a complete list! It is an huge overview of what is available from DCL and a suggestion to an outside vendor who can assist with what DCL can’t help with. It is NOT an all inclusive list! Feel free to contact me with any questions about your specific needs. What I don’t know I’ll be happy to find out.

Mobility needs:

Accessible cabins:

· Cabins have more space to move in with a wheelchair or scooter and a lower threshold on the door for ease of entry with wheels.

· 2 emergency pull lines that can call for help if needed. 1 in the main cabin area and 1 in the bathroom.

· Accessible Closet with a hanger rail that comes down for a wheelchair user.

· Rollin Shower, Shower Seat, Grabrails and lower sink you can roll up to.

· Shower Chairs (for non-Accessibcabins), Steps for the Bed, and Bed Rails upon request.

Other Mobility Information:

· All public spaces, including shops, decks and shows are accessible by those using mobility aids.

· Using your own scooter that breaks apart on the cruise? That is fine and you MAY not need an accessible cabin for it. Measure the width of the scooter and contact DCL and ask them if the cabin door will accommodate your scooter.

· All public spaces have seating for those in scooters and wheelchairs. There are 2 places with special entrances for those using mobility aids. Triton’s Main Dining Room has a door on the Port Side (Left Side of the ship as you face forward) of the ship. This door has no steps and is not just an accessible entrance. It is just a secondary entrance. If you wish to sit at the front of the Walt Disney Theater go to the Cadillac Lounge on Deck 3 Port Side and let them know you need accessible entrance to the theater. They will arrange for you to enter through the backstage area to the front row. After the show wait and they will bring you out.

· You may request a lift to get you into a pool or hot tub. Make the request several hours ahead of time so they can arrange for it to be at the pool you wish. They will minimally assist with you transferring.

· They only provide temporary use of a wheelchair if you are injured during the trip. They generally only have a few and they are not comfortable.

For the Visually Impaired:

· Brille is widely placed on signage around the ships.

· In the Restaurants you can request Large Print Menus.

· Ships elevators announce what deck you are at when the door opens.

· Cast Members will assist you at places like the Buffet and other quick-service locations.

· You ask for headsets that will give you discerptions of what is going on during shows and movies. There is a refundable deposit for this.

· Disney allows Meta Glasses as a visual aid for those who need them. Some cruise lines have banned them over privacy concerns.

For the Hearing Impaired:

· There are staterooms designed for those with hearing loss. They include the following things:

· Doorbell that flashes lights in the cabin when someone is at the door.

· Ships Emergency Alarms will set the lights in the cabin flashing.

· The alerts for the doorbell and emergency alarms will also shake the bed to wake the guest.

· As in all cabins Closed Caption is available on the in cabin TV set.

· You can request headsets that make it easier for those with limited hearing to hear the shows and movies. You place a small refundable deposit.

· At some venues there are digital closed captioning devices available.

Neurodivergent Needs:

These are harder to find:

· For the young and young at heart there is a book you can download and print. I love it! It is called my Disney Cruise Adventure.

o Before you go use this book to let your neurodivergent traveler know what they will see and hear on the ship and the trip to and from.

o While traveling this book is wonderful as a backup safety item for your kids. You fill in your flight/travel plans and contact information in the how I’m getting there and who I’m with sections. This gives them something to show an appropriate person to ask for help if they happen to get separated from you. It is also there for memories later. Then teach them how to identify “helpers” such as airline employees, airport security, and any business employees at locations they may be around. Look for work ID tags and go to a cash register are good options.

o The book teaches words like Port, Starboard, Aft and Bow so they can understand the ships crew members. It warns them that the toilet is loud so it doesn't scare them as much when they use it on the ship.

o It gives them a place to write down people and things they wish to remember. It acts as a scrapbook. They have a spot they can write the contact information for friends they make in the kids clubs! Best idea EVER!

o During travel it allows them to color and draw, so bring those crayons and colored pencils along to keep them happy and excited!

· I’ve found the best thing to understand and know for the neurodivergent is the need for a quiet space. There are plenty of quiet spots on the ships. You can always find a empty area with less noise and stimulation when needed. Before shows ask Crew Members where the best place to watch for your needs.

· Be aware that Kids Clubs ages are not negotiable, even for disabilities. This may seem ruff and hard to understand but truly they are considering the safety of all those using the areas. You can take your older Neurodivergent traveler to the kids areas during open house to check them out.

· DCL does have lines to see the characters. Usually, these lines are much shorter than the ones at the parks. You can have one person stand in line while the other entertains your neurodivergent party member, then join when they reach the front of the line. Photographers, characters and handlers are very patient and will work hard to get great pictures and special moments.

· DCL is well aware that food issues are a real issue with Neurodivergent guests. They will help in anyway then can and make it easier for you. If your neurodivergent travel partner limits food call ahead of time to ask if they have what they like most. Many love chicken nuggets or mac & cheese. Both are available.

· There are a very limited number of Autism at Sea sailings on DCL. Other cruise lines do more of them. Check Autism at Sea or ask your Travel Agent if they can assist with an Autism at Sea Sailing with support staff to give caregivers breaks during the cruise.

Bringing Medical Equipment or Medications:

· Do you need to keep medication cold? Request a small fridge from special services before boarding. Don’t worry if it is not there when you arrive, just ask your room steward or call Guests Services.

· Use a CPap and need distilled water? Let them know before you go and they will have it in your cabin. Need more while sailing? Just ask your room steward and they will bring you some.

· Need an extension cord to plug in your medical equipment? Remember extension cords are a banned item for safety reasons. DCL does have a limited number power cords available to borrow. There is a refundable deposit that is returned when you return the power cord at the end of the cruise.

· Use a sharps container? There is one in the cabin bathroom. Fill it up? Ask for another when you need it.

· Call and ask about any special accommodations you may need for your equipment. Ask about special loading and unloading plans you may need to make.

· By policy medication should be in it’s original bottle/package with the prescription label on it. But I have found if you wish to make a travel pack and keep pictures of the pills with the original packaging label with you that usually is not an issue.

Food Allergies/Dietary Needs:

· Have a food allergy, diary, wheat, and nuts are just the short list of allergies. Do you have diabetes, Crohn's disease or gluten intolerance? DCL has you covered! They do not what you to have an allergic reaction or food related illness while at sea!

· Let DCL know at least 6 weeks ahead of your cruise. This way they can provide what you need and make notes not to put your health at risk.

· First night tell your serving staff at dinner. They will make a note and help you. Often this means ordering dinner the night before so you don’t delay dinner for your table.

· When you order at the buffet or quick-service locations or room service let them know and ask what is available.

Service Dog Accommodations:

Service dogs are allowed on DCL ships. It does not matter if it is a Guide Dog, Medical Alert of any kind Dog or a Food Allergy Alert Dog they will be allowed to sail.

· All Service Dogs must pass a FDA medical check up with a FDA cleared veterinarian and have proof of all vaccinations. This is at the guest’s expense.

· Dogs may not be left alone in the cabin or tied up on a deck.

· Dogs must be under the control of their handler at all times.

· A relief station is provided for the dog to use and it is required to use that location only. The guest must clean up after their animal. Proper disposal containers are appropriately located near the relief station.

· You are responsible for the food and care of your service dog.

What does DCL not provide:

· Wheelchair and other mobility aids. (They do have 1^st come 1^st serve limited number of Sand Wheelchairs on their private islands.)

· Patient Lifts for getting in and out of mobility devices.

· Hospital Beds.

· Lift Recliners.

· Oxygen Concentrators and Oxygen Supplies

· Ability to repair your equipment easily. (DCL will try and do their best to assist if necessary. No promises made.)

· If you need a wheelchair or scooter and do not have one rent one ahead of time. Special Needs Group/Special Needs at Sea is top rated. They work worldwide and will do their best to provide what you need at any hotel, resort or cruise line. There are other providers that cost less, but I’ll make it simple with mentioning what I think is the best. You do pay for the quality service you get.

· All the above listed items are available from Special Needs Group/Special Needs at Sea. Yes, they have walkers, rollators, wheelchairs (both transfer and standard), scooters, Beach/Sand Wheelchairs, patient lifts, hospital beds, lift recliners and if their equipment has an issue there is a way to contact them and they will be at the next port to assist. They will deliver the mobility aid to you at the terminal and pick it up from you upon return. Beds and other equipment will be set up in your room/cabin for you. They can deliver to a pre or post-cruise hotel as well. They also do land destinations such as Disney and Universal Destinations.

Special Needs Group may be higher priced than other companies, but they provide the best service available. You can be sure the equipment will be in good condition and if something happens they are there to assist. DCL Cast Members have also recommends Special Needs Group because of the quality of service and equipment they provide the guests with.

at is the DCL Navigator App? Do I really need it on my cruise?

What is the DCL Navigator App? Do I really need it on my cruise?

Simply put the DCL Navigator App is your best friend during your cruise. Every member of your travel party should have a device with this app on it. It works off the ships WiFi and is free to use. If traveling with someone who does not usually have a smart device I suggest using a old tablet or phone with no service attached and put it in WiFi mode. This is a great option to keep in touch with younger cruisers in your party while on board.

At home the Navigator App will do the following:

1. Give you a daily count down for the cruise. It counts down to midnight the day we embark on the cruise.
2. Let you see your PIF (Pay In Full) date, Booking Window Opening Date (date you can start booking your adventures.), and Online Check-In Date.
3. Will take you to where you can make payments, access to booking activities once your Booking Window opens, gives you the information you will need to do your Online Check-In and when that opens you will be able to access it from the app.
4. Let you explore the Online Gifts you can purchase and have delivered to your cabin. Some of these are limited to preorder and some you may find in the shops.
5. You can explore the cruise itinerary. What dates will you be in what port and what adventures can you book for that port?

On the Ship:

Let’s start off by saying that as of today July 11, 2026 there are 8 active ships in the Disney Fleet. With a 9^th currently being built right now. Here they are in order of the date they joined the fleet:

Classic/Magic-Class Ships:
Disney Magic – Maiden Voyage July 1998
Disney Wonder – Maiden Voyage December 1999
Dream-Class Ships:
Disney Dream – Maiden Voyage 2011
Disney Fantasy – Maiden Voyage 2012
Wish-Class Ships
Disney Wish – Maiden Voyage 2022
Disney Treasure – Maiden Voyage 2024
Disney Destiny – Maiden Voyage November 2025
Adventure-Class (This is a one and done class)
Disney Adventure Maiden Voyage 2026

That is the current 8 in order of joining the fleet.

There is one ship being built at this moment, Wish-Class, Disney Believe, This ship will bring the fleet to 9 ships by the end of 2026. Disney Believe will have its Maiden Voyage towards the end of 2026. The exact date has NOT been released as of yet. It should be released by September 2026 but could be in October depending on the status of the build. My guess is sometime in November for the Maiden Voyage. I’m hoping it is not in Thanksgiving Week. Watch for announcements from D23 for updates on the Believe’s build progress and possible theming of restaurants, venues and shows.

Now hold on to your lifeboats because things are not done YET! Again, this information is as of today, July 11, 2026 and based on only Disney Officially Released or other confirmed information. 4 more ships will be joining the fleet between 2028 and 2031! We know class and general specifications for one of the ships. The last 3 will be an entirely new and smaller class of ships. This will bring the total number of ships to 13 by 2031. None of the last 4 ships have been named as of yet. Their themes have not been announced. The exact date they will sail, home ports or itineraries have not been announced. It takes between 18-24 months to build a ship. Number 10 should start its build soon to stay on track for delivery. I’m guessing in the next 3-4 months for the OLC Wish-Class ship to start being built.

Ship 10 will be the 5^th and most likely final in the Wish-Class ships. This ship is being built for OLC that owns and runs Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea in partnership with Disney. It will sail exclusively out of Tokyo, Japan.

Ships 11-13 will be a smaller set of ships that is sized between the Classic-Class and the Dream-Class. They will start joining the fleet in 2029 and the last will join the fleet in 2031. These will be able to go to more ports than the larger ships.

As of today, July 11, 2026, Disney Ships are all over the world. Magic and Wonder are in Alaska for the summer. Dream is in Europe, Fantasy, Wish, Treasure and Destiny are in the 2 ports in Florida. Disney Adventure is in Singapore sailing 3 & 4-Night cruises as sea. They will continue this until at least 2030. The contract with the port ends in 2030 but can be extended. End of summer Dream comes back from Europe and will stay in Florida. Magic will move from San Diego, Ca to Galveston Tx at the end of 2026 and return to San Diego Spring of 2027. Wonder will stay in San Deigo until Summer 2027. Summer 2027 is not out yet but I have educated guesses for where they will be. Spring of 2027 Wish will head to Europe for the first time! The other sips will stay where they are in Florida. Disney Believe is completely unknown on Home Port and itineraries she will have as of today.

Educated guesses for Summer/Fall 2027. Know information for the Summer Wish will be in Europe, Magic and Wonder will be in Alaska. Dream, Fantasy, Treasure, Destiny and Believe will most likely be in Florida using the 2 home ports there. This is just until the end of the summer of 27!

Fall of 2027 DCL has announced that there will be a minimum of 1-2 ships (Magic & Wonder officially named) sailing year-round out of San Diego. Starting Mid September 2027 and going until Mid May 28 there will be 2 ships in San Diego. 2 stops per week will be made at Santa Catalina Island off the coast of California doing Baja and Mexico cruises of 3 to 7 nights. Mid May of 28, by contracts, there will be 1 ship in San Diego with one stop per week at Santa Catalina Island. This pattern will continue until mid Sept 28. This will repeat with until sometime around 2040. I believe the summer limit of DCL at San Diego says DCL will continue with the very popular Alaskan cruises.,

As said the San Diego expansion and stops at Catalina only mention Magic and Wonder. The contract with Catalina specifically mentions a possible 3^rd unnamed ship may go there. Here are some educated guesses. DCL will continue to send 2 ships to Alaska during the summer months. The Alaskan Cruises are very popular and I see that continuing. I believe that a 3^rd, yet to be named ship of unknown class will be sent to take over one of the positions. It will either stay at San Diego while Magic and Wonder go to Alaska or 1 of the Classic ships will go to Alaska with the newcomer while the other stays in San Diego.

I believe there may be a big announcement at D23 increasing the number of ship orders with Meyer Warft Shipyard. If they will continue making more of the 5^th-unnamed class that is yet to be built or if they will go with another new class or more Wish-Class ships I have no idea.

Why do I think they will increase the order? DCL is growing in popularity by leaps and bounds. The demand is growing for new ships and destinations. Disney wants to respond. Add to that the fact that the historical life span of a cruse ship is 30 years. Both Magic and Wonder should retire soon. They will reach 30 in 2028 and 29 respectively. I do believe they can keep them running for another 5 or maybe 10 years the way DCL maintains their ships. Still there is a shelf life to cruise ships to be in top working order and top of the line. Disney is considered a higher class of cruise ships and strives to maintain that. Older ships take that standard down, no matter how well maintained.

Disney Cruise Line 24 Hour Website and Call Center Maintenance Shutdown

Disney Cruise Line has announced that they will be shutting down the website and call center for 24 hours. This is to make upgrades to the functional system to help DCL with reservations.

There system will be down from 4am July 9^th to 4am July 10^th. Travel Agents and guests will not be able to book a cruise, make payments, special requests or modifications to an existing cruise, do Online Check-In, book Port and Shipboard Adventures, or pre-order Amenities and Gifts. The entire site will be down and unavailable, as will the Navigator App.

If you have a payment due on July 9^th, 2026 make sure you make it the day before. Make any special requests and deal with any issues you may have with a reservation that must be made by July 9^th done ahead of time. Online Check-In, Port Adventures and other things can wait an extra day without any issues.

Disney Cruise Line’s VoluntEars

We all love DCL and the amazing service they give us. Did you know DCL and their Crew Member Volunteers give back to the ports they call upon? Well, they do! DCL does not talk about it much, but I want to share some of what they have done and are doing.

No matter what port, US or foreign countries DCL finds ways to give back. Here is a short list of what I know they have done.

1. Lets start with the first big win for DCL, Castaway Cay. Castaway Cay was owned by a Bahaman businessman. It let locals raise animals and grow food there. Until one day he went to visit the island and tried to land his small plane on the airstrip he had built there. He was met by drug traffickers! They had taken over the island. He few off and sold the island to a company he did not know. It turned out to be DCL.

a. DCL contacted the DEA in the mid 1990’s and let them know about the drugs on the island and the fact those drugs were coming into Florida. The Mouse roared and the traffickers were kicked off.

b. Disney hires locals from nearby islands to come work there when guests are on the island. They run many of the tours/Port Adventures offered there.

c. Disney has several shops where local Bahaman artisans can sell their wares.

d. Locals are hired to assist in the maintenance of the island.

e. The majority of the island is kept in a protected wild state to preserve the eco system.

2. Sent VoluntEars to Children’s hospital wards to pain murals to make hospital visits a little less traumatic to the children. This is done both US and in many countries. This includes US, Bahamian, Caribbean, Vergin Island and Mexican Ports

3. They have help with funding upgrading medical equipment for children’s care.

4. DCL will bring educational material and supplies to local schools.

5. DCL will send entertainment Cast Members to schools to teach the children how to put on a Disney themed play. From set, costume design and making, acting/singing and

6. DCL has offered tours of the ships and interaction with crew members so young people can see the different types of positions from Bridge down to Maintenance. They also have offered some scholarships for colleges that teach what is needed to be bridge positions.

7. It times of disaster they will bring much needed supplies, including food and medicine.

8. After disasters they will give financial assistance to the local area affected by the disaster.

9. When DCL makes an agreement with a port they don’t just look at port and say, “We want to come there let us dock.” They look at what is needed to improve the sounding area to the port to help the locals and improve the guest experience there.

a. The current example is Avalon, Catalina Island, Ca. Disney signed an agreement that gives their ships preferred portage 1 or 2 days per week, depending on the season. Disney realized that Avalon is a wonderful port for guests. DCL could see sustaining the additional number of visitors they would bring, long term was not the best for either the Cruise Line, Guests or Avalon. DCL has committed to helping improve the city’s infrastructure, including but not limited to water, power and roads. They will work with the environmental groups of the island to help protect the wildlife and lands. Local shops, restaurants and artisans will see an increase in business. This is a win for everyone in my opinion.

b. On the Island of Eleuthera, Disney worked with locals to build Lookout Cay and even had locals help design shows and create menus for food served on Lookout Cay. DCL employes locals as some of the entertainers for shows performed there. The jobs spread past the Lookout Cay area to locally owned Tour Companies that give tours to DCL guests! A very financially and physically depressed area has and is being really helped. Like Catalina, local shops, restaurants and artisans will see an increase in business. Another win for all involved.

Disney Cruise Line does not make many announcements about the VoluntEar projects. Many I know of some from outside sources, that are naming groups of people, organizations, and businesses who are helping during a disaster. Some I know about some things because of hearing locals speak of it. Either way it gives me another reason to sail Disney Cruise Line! I want to support a company that is this forward thinking.

At 12:15 pm Pixie Dust & Disney Fun Blog hit 2 million views!!! This is AMAZING to me, and I thank you so much for joining me on this trip!

This blog was started early 2011 and took until January 2025 to hit its first million views. 2023 the average month view count was around 10,000-15,000 views per month. 2024 it jumped to an average of 25,000 per month. During 25 I had what I though was a fluke huge month of over 57,000 views in one month!!! 2025 averaged around 35,000 views per month. Looking at the starting number for the blog in January, 2026, I thought I might reach 2,000,000 by the end of 2026 or early 2027. I was excited!!!

Now onto 2026!! January 1^st started out with 1,342,892 views. January ended with an average count of 36,480 for the month. This count was in line with he average of 2025. February ended with 30.793 for the month and again in line with the average. Then came March!!! March came in like a lion with an all time high view count of 103,432 for the month!! April decided to be stronger than March and had 137,173 views! Could this be a fluke? Something that could not be sustained? Then May popped in!! 166,661 views to break the previous and all other all time views!!! With all of this I could see I was getting very close to my magic number! Still I figured the count may hit 2 million by July or August sometime.

Today at 12:15 pm the blog hit 2 million all time views! June has already hit another record view count of 184,386 views for the month of June and the month still has 8 days left. If the count continues at the daily rate it is at I will have around 240,000 views this month! The average daily rate is around 8,000 views per day!

Disney+ Has a Couple of Fun Things for Disney Fans to Watch!

Recently added is, ”How Disney Build America.” This is about an eight episode serries that is all airing. This is about the things that Walt Disney personally and the Disney Company did to change how things are done in America and actually the world. As a major Disney Geek I knew a lot of the information but some I did not know all of the information shared. It truly shows how much of an innovator Walt Disney was and how he personally brought it out in those he worked with.

June 24^th, 2026, a two episode of Behind the Attraction Premiers on Disney+!! This is a special treat for Disney Cruise Line Fans!! I am really excited about this!

The first episode will be a look at the History of the Disney Cruise Line. From concept to the Disney Adventure! Learn about how they picked the design of the ships, color schemes, design, and the two private Islands.

The second episode will be the Building of the Destiny. This will go specifically into the design, theming and the process of building the Disney Destiny!

Both of these will be a special treat for DCL fans/addicts. Yes, I’m hooked on DCL and I’m not afraid to admit it!! I always learn something new when I see these shows.

Remembering Margaret Kerry the Real Life Tinker Bell

I have some specific memories I want to share about Margaret Kerry and fun with her at Walt’s Barn. If you don’t know what Walt’s Barn is look out Walt’s Carolwood Barn. Simply put it is the small replica barn from Walt’s Hombly Hills home where he would work on his 1/8 scall backyard train. He also did a lot of the planning of Disneyland in that barn. It is the birthplace of W.E.D. now called WDI (Walt Disney Imagineering). I was volunteering for a special event at Walt’s Barn along with Margaret. We were giving a private tour. She would come do these as often as she could. I showed people around Walt’s Barn sharing stories about Walt, his love of trains and some of the special items in the barn. After the tour Margaret gave a special talk about her time working on Peter Pan as the live action model for Tinker Bell. She spoke about Walt and the animators she met there. She came and helped sweep up the barn, set up, gave her talk (and on other occasions than this one took over my part of talking about the barn because I passed out from heat.) and then she would help clean up and shut things down. She was just a regular volunteer.

At this time of this incident I was taking care of my sweet Mum-In-Love. She had Alzheimer's and could not be left alone for even 5 minutes. I could not find anybody to watch mum for me so brought her along with me. There were seats she could sit in and cold water to drink. It was a safe enclosed area and I did not have to worry about her. Then Margaret showed up. Sweet Margaret started talking to Mum. They shared stories of their faith in God, the husbands they loved and lost, childhood and family. While I took care of my responsibilities Margaret spent time with mum. Margaret befriended her, took care of her and kept her from wandering off. She allowed me to do something I loved doing, sharing stories about Walt the Man. Margaret knew that would give me peace, and she truly enjoyed spending the time with mum.

Another much beloved memory I have of her is from the Los Angeles Live Steamer Ghost Train of 2017. This annual event was a crowd pleaser that packed out and was a great thing to do for Halloween. I arranged for a train to take the volunteers of Walt’s Barn (Located on the LALS Area in Griffith Park, Los Angeles) on a ride! This is a nighttime ride with lighting, animated figures, music, and special effects. Think of a walk through Haunted House but instead of walking you are riding on a 1/8 scale train at night! It was about a 20-minute ride! Margaret got the front seat and I fully expected her son to sit behind her, remember she was 86 at the time and this is a straddle type bench seat. You need good balance to ride and many, especially older people riding at night, just do not feel stable enough to do it. NOPE!! Margaret wanted me right behind her!! Look at the picture!! I’m a little person! My husband is right behind me and Margaret’s son is behind him! The rest of the Barn Crew is behind that. OFF WE GO!!! We roll out of the station past a huge, talking, animated haunted tree. Margaret giggled like a schoolgirl and said, “You don’t scare me one little bit!” Thus, the adventure began!! Through Grandma’s Potting Shed with a GIANT Audre II and pots of her hungry babies. Killer Clowns, Western Ghost Towns, simulated electrocution and a mine train spewing flame from its smoak stack! I nervus, no terrifed she would feel unsupported and worried about falling off and here she was making silly comments to the talking figures along the track! She would comment on the quality of the voiceover work and how good the actors that did it were. She loved the special effects and commented on them all. All the time I’m behind her thinking, “OMG!! If Tinker Bell falls off this train and gets hurt I’M DEAD!! Every single Tink fan in the world will hunt me down!!” I never had to worry. Margaret was rock steady the entire ride She held herself more like a 26 year old than a 86 year old! Not one little bobble or need for me to support her!! What childlike joy she had!! She loved every moment.

One more story. Margaret was about to publish her book “Tinker Bell Talks” and she was talking to me about it. (If you have not read it I highly recommend you do so.) We got talking about things we were doing outside of Walt’s Barn. I told her about a book I’d been writing for years. It is a Christmas book for families to read together at Christmas. She asked for a copy so I printed one for her. Margaret was a master storyteller. If you ever had the pleasure of hearing her speak you know what I mean. She liked my book and had one major comment. The book needed illustrations! I could not afford an illustrator nor could I draw myself. We had just finished giving a tour of the Barn. She pointed to the barn and said, “Where are we?” I told her, “Walt’s Barn.” At that she put her fists on her hips, tipped her head to the side in that all too familiar Tink with a Tude pose and gave me “The Look.” You know that one eye half closed, slight frown on the lips what you going to do about it look. She said, “If you can dream it, you can do it! Go draw those illustrations!” I did draw those illustrations, and the book should be out this Christmas! It is in the final editing faze. Took time to find a publisher I could afford. This was the woman who brought one of Disney’s most Iconic and beloved characters to life and danced her way into our hearts. She had the spirit, sass and just embodied the belief she could do anything she wanted, including flying if she really wanted to. She will always be missed but we need to remember that she has just gone on and we can still find her by following that 2nd Star to the Right and Straight onto Morning! We will find her there if we just have Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust. She left a pile of Pixie Dust wherever she went.

Until We Meet Again In Heaven Tinker Bell – Margaret Kerry - From Pixie Wings to Angel Wings

Margaret Kerry and me at Walt's Barn. Just 2 Barn Pixies sharing their love of Disney.

Margaret Kerry has set aside her Pixie Wings and earned her Angel Wings. She is now with the Lord she loved and the husbands she adored. She was 97 years old.

I met Margaret Kerry several times at Disney Events such as D23 and Disneyana. She was always a treat to speak to with an amazing story to tell. I also had the pleasure of being a docent at Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, California with her. There we became friends. We called ourselves the Barn Pixies. There she helped me perfect the art of storytelling. She was a Toast Master and a true wordsmith. She encouraged me to finish writing my book and I’m eternally happy she did so and hope to have it published soon. She told me the book needed illustrations. I told her I did not draw. We were standing in front of Walt's Barn at the time. Margaret through the perfect Tink Tude with fists on hips and head tipped to the side. With a stern expression she told me, "If you can dream it you can do it! Get those illustrations!" When Ms. Tink gives you an order you comply!! My book will have illustrations I drew because of her.

Margaret Kerry was one of the models for Tinker Bell. Tink had a face model and then Margaret did the live action reference. In truth I think the face was also Margaret. She also was the model and voice for the Red Headed Mermaid in Peter Pan. In all honest truth she embodied the spirit of Tinker Bell. She was forever sassy and playful. She knew what she wanted and off she went! She had the most positive attitude I’ve ever known. I learned many life lessons from her.

Margaret had an amazing and Pixie Dusted Life. Don’t believe me? Find her book Tinker Bell Talks and enjoy some of the stories she told. Her first husband came up with several creative ideas for cartoons and Margaret was part of it. Back in the early days of television they would use still pictures of a character and cut out the lips/mouth. Actors, often Margaret would put their lips through the lip hole and speak the characters’ lines. I remember watching these shows as a child! She did early TV Shows and movies. Her first movie was at the age of 4 or 5. She was a beautiful little fairy in A Midsummers Night Dream with Mickey Rooney as the Puck. She was also in National Velvet as a background actress and stand in for Liz Taylor.

Margaret was married 3 times. Her first marriage gave her 3 wonderful children but ended in divorce. Her second marriage was full of love and joy and she was left a widow. Her third marriage was one for the movies and worthy of her Pixie Dusted storied life. She had fallen in love with Robert around WWII. He went off to war and they went their separate ways. 70 years went by and Robert was a widower. He had told his son about Margaret and how much he had loved her in his youth. Robert’s son found Margaret and encouraged Robert to write to her! Even after 70 years apart Margaret remembered him! They were married 4 months later on Valentines Day, 2020 just before Covid. Robert died May 24, 2026. She loved Robert dearly and they had gone on a cruise to the Mediterranean recently. Robert was 100 years old. She was helping him write a book about his time in WWII.

Within the last few months Margaret had been at Disneyana and Comic Conventions. She was also a frequent visitor to Mayberry Days where they honor Andy Griffith. Margaret had played Andy’s girlfriend for a couple of episodes of Mayberry RFD. As recently as last year Maragaret was seen tap dancing on stage talking about her life.

Maragaret Kerry led a life full of adventure, joy, sorrow, hardship and positivity. She went from being an Orphan Train Orphan to a beloved performer and one of the kindest people I knew. I’m honored she called me a friend and even called me by my nickname, Tinky.

Is Cruising Safe??

Right now there is a lot of talk about 2 separate events that recently happened on Cruise Ships. There are separate incidents across multiple cruise lines.

Let’s start with the Hantavirus. First off Hantavirus is a deadly virus connected to rats and usually spread when their droppings dry out and get blown around as dust. The Hantavirus contracted in this incident is a novel type that is rare. The possibility of you being exposed to this type of virus is small. Earlier this month a couple went bird watching and then they boarded the MV Hondius, a Dutch cruise ship. They had contracted Hantavirus while bird watching and brought it onto the ship. They did not get it ON the ship. This is causing global concern as this has become a person to person spreading virus instead of the normal. Should you be concerned? Yes and No.

On a cruise ship you are in close contact with a lot of people. Because of the limited space between people and enclosed environment with large areas that can’t be vented to open windows or doors things can happen. What do you do to stay safe? Wash your hands frequently. Be kind to others and stay in your cabin if you feel sick. Choose your cruise line carefully! The MV Handius was not the cause of or the start of Hantavirus. It was people who went bird watching and may have not stayed clean enough before boarding the ship. Still, you need to make sure that the cruise line you choose has a good health record and keeps the ships clean and rodent free.

The second bit of news is how 25-28 crew members of various ships from multiple cruise lines were arrested for child porn not for sexual assault on a child. Disney Cruise Line is the one line mentioned most and it is difficult to find information on the number of crew members from the Disney Magic were arrested. It is also hard to find out what other lines had crew members arrested in this investigation. It is important to note it was not JUST Disney Cruise Line that had crew members arrested.

Is this something you should be aware of? Yes. Is it something that should keep you from sailing? I do not think so. I’ve heard there were at least 5 different ships that arrests were made on. If the ships had an average of 1,000 crew members each, that means there are approximately 5,000 or more crew members between those ships. The percentage of crew members arrested was small. It is equivalent to the basic number of sex offenders in the general populous no matter where you are.

Do you or your child go to an amusement park, park, club, school or church? Be aware there are sex offenders there! No business can give you a 100% guarantee they do not have a sex offender on their payroll. Sadly, this is reality we live in.

What can we do to protect our children from sexual predators? First off teach your child to say NO loudly when they feel uncomfortable with an adult or an adult’s touch. Teach them to physically respond and protect themselves. Second, teach them to tell you if something happens and never judge the child. Listen and investigate, do not assume evil intent until you have investigated. Third, do respond if something does happen.

Many people are saying they are afraid to take their children on a Disney Cruise because some crew were found with pornography on their personal devices. Did these crew members work with the kids? I’ve heard some were cooks and other crew positions but no confirmation of any crew members working with kids was arrested. Reality is we don’t know. Were any charged with touching a child? From the reports I’ve seen the arrests and deportations were not in response to interactions with children. It was due to content on their devices. Once again, I’m going to be clear it was not only Disney that had crew members arrested. Disney has a zero tolerance policy and they have publicly stated they have revoked the crew members contracts. All were deported to their home countries.

Should either problem that happened in the past few weeks keep you from sailing? Not really. Either problem could happen on land as well as sea. Concerned about Hantavirus? Don’t go near rodent infested locations, wash your hands frequently and bath regularly. Worried about your child being sexually assaulted? You have two choices. Keep them locked to your side never allowing them to explore the world. Or you can educate them and teach them to protect and advocate for themselves. You can either raise a child to be fearful or powerful. The choice is yours.

Imagineers have long dreamed of adding a land inspired by this region to animal Kingdom. In fact, earlier concepts of potential park expansions imagined guests journeying into the ancient Maya temple and exploring a lush rainforest . . . sound familiar?

Inside Imagineering’s Research Trips for Tropical Americas

From the very beginning of this project, Imagineers knew the story of Tropical Americas needed to be grounded in the real world. Just like the Imagineers of yesteryear did when first building Animal Kingdom and the exciting additions that have opened since, our team embarked on several research trips to learn more about the region’s culture, customs, architecture, and folklore.

Imagineers always want to tell Disney stories from a place of curiosity and humility, and these trips allow them to go beyond simply re-creating the areas that inspired them. Recently, a small group took a trip to Honduras where they met with Maya artists whose life’s work is carving and recreating intricate details found throughout the Copan site, one of the most extraordinary and well-preserved cities of the ancient Maya civilization.

Together, they traveled through the lush mountain valleys to the very quarries that have supplied the region for centuries. They experienced firsthand the striking red and green stones native to the landscape. Witnessing the artistry was a breathtaking moment, made even more meaningful knowing that the same materials that build Copan will find their way to Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom and be crafted by carvers using the time-honored techniques.

The team also traveled to Colombia to immerse ourselves in the places and cultures that inspired Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto,” which will be represented in the first-ever Encanto attraction at a Disney park.

There, guests will be invited to celebrate Antonio’s new gift: the ability to talk to animals. And along the way, they’ll learn that no matter what their special gifts or abilities are, they’re all part of the “familia” of living things. During the research trip, the team met with many of the people and visited many of the places that the original “Encanto” filmmakers first visited in researching Disney Animation’s Academy Award-willing film.

They also gathered first-hand experiences to ensure Pueblo Esperanza feels like a real, lived-in town true to the region – from the colors and materials of town plazas to the hues of haciendas in varying light to the way buildings respond to climate and terrain.

Those journeys are not just about where they go, but the insight, inspiration, and deeper understanding that shapes every detail they bring back. Imagineers travel because there is always more for us to learn, and each experience brings us closer to telling these stories with authenticity and care.

Spirit Airlines Closure - What to Booked Passengers Do?

Spirit Airlines filed for bankruptcy and stopped all operations May 2^nd, 2026. This left both crew and passengers stranded with no way to get home. What do you do now? If your trip has not started yet book with another airline and wait for the refund from Spirit, they do say it will be coming.

JetBlue Airways was the first airline to jump up and announce discounted fares for passengers with valid Spirit tickets. JetBlue Airways is booking until the 6^th or so for $99 one way. Other airlines such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United, Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Allegiant Air and Avelo. Contact one of the lines mentioned if you are stranded with a Spirit Ticket. If you have a Travel Agent ask them to assist so you can finish out your vacation or business trip with less stress.

Many airlines are also assisting stranded Cabin Crew, Pilots and Flight Attendants are being offered Free Jump Seat passage home along with preferred and expiated job interviews for those who wish them. In some ways this is a good thing as there is a shortage of certified Flight Crew available in the industry.

General Disney Cruise Line Packing List

This is a general packing list for any Disney Cruise. You can check the Disney Cruise Website for suggestions for the particular destination you are going to. For example if you are going to Alaska bring more warm clothing and things you an layer. Dress comfortably for vacation – plus bring the appropriate attire for such activities as dinners and Port Adventures.

Embarkation Day Basics

Pack these items in a day bag to keep with you, as your luggage may not arrive at your stateroom until a few hours after the ship leaves port.

· Medication (in their original containers)

o I have found that having a picture of your pill container label with a description and picture of the pills will do

· Passport and/or required citizenship documentation

· Camera and accessories (batteries, memory card, etc.)

· Extra prescription glasses or contact lenses

· Sunscreen or hat

· Swimsuit and cover-up

· Any valuables, fragile items, and electronics should be in your Carry On Bags

Attire and Accessories

Here is our suggested list of things to pack in your luggage:

· Jeans or pants

· Sunglasses

· T-shirts

· Shorts

· Sundresses

· Sandals or sneakers (rubber-sole shoes for Port Adventures)

· Windbreaker/rain jacket

· Sweater or other clothes you can layer

· Dinner attire (see below)

Dining attire

Disney Cruise Line ships feature an array of diverse dining experiences, from casual to upscale. Be sure to follow the dress code for your restaurant:

· Main Dining – Dining attire is cruise casual in all 3 main dining restaurants, meaning no swimwear or tank tops. Guests often like to dress up, but this is optional.

· Adult Exclusive Dining – Adult exclusive restaurants, like Pal aboard Disney Cruise Line ships are elegant dining experiences and Guests are requested to dress in a manner consistent with the restaurant’s ambiance. Formal or semi-formal attire is recommended. Also permitted is dress-casual attire with a polished look, such as dress pants, jeans in good condition, collard shirts, dressy tops and lifestyle shoes. For brunch at Palo and Palo Steakhouse, dress shorts are acceptable. Clothing such as T-shirts, swimwear and sports attire are not permitted.

· Themed Nights – On 7-Night sailings and longer cruises, the ship offers themed nights – including formal night – and you’re encouraged to dress up and participate in the evening’s festivities.

Some Guests dress to the theme of the Restaurant they eat at that night. Some Guests dress to the theme of the evening’s live show. Never forget Pirate Night! Pirate Night is on most Disney Cruises and is a lot of fun.

Dressing up or bounding is NOT required. Nobody judges you if your family has matching T-shirts and shorts at dinner or if you have gone all out bounding or dressing up fancy. The rule is to be comfortable and appropriately dressed.

Please DO NOT bring:

Firearms and ammunition, any kind of knife, sword, dagger, bullwhip or any other type of weapon. These items are not allowed on the ship under any circumstances. Guests found in possession of any weapons or similar prohibited items on their person or in their baggage may be denied boarding and are subject to severe legal penalties.
Homemade, precooked or other perishable items.
Irons, bottle warmers, sporting equipment, balloons, candles, musical instruments, illegal drugs inclusive of medically prescribed and synthetic marijuana.
Coolers, except those carrying medications, baby food or items related to dietary constraints.
Mexico recently placed a law stating Vape Pens are illegal. You may use them in the smoking section of the ship but for your legal safety do not take them ashore in Mexican Ports.

New and Returning Entertainment in 2026

New this year, Stitch is hosting an ever-changing dance party at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland with the help of his friends Lilo and Angel. After getting his paws on Lilo’s Costume Trunk, every accessory he tries on will spark the theme swap and keep the party playfully unpredictable all night long.

And, of course, a little spider told us that the Cadaver Dans will be back again this year to sing in soulful harmony.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Tickets

Prices vary per date and will be available for purchase May 5^th for guests staying at select Walt Disney world Resort hotels, Walt Disney world Swan & Dolphin and Shades of Green.

Tickets will be available for purchase starting May 12^th for all oter guests. Party dates often sell out, so our best tip is to plan early and purchase tickets in advance for your desired party date.

*Planning Tip: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00pm before the party kicks off at 7:00 pm this means guests have up to 8 hours to celebrate all across the park.

For some of us, our Halloween dreams include a bag overflowing with candy. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the best trick-or-treat destinations, with over a dozen opportunities to collect candy throughout the park, marked on your party map/ and this year, guests can expect even more fun than ever before with some familiar (and fiendish) faces surprising guests along the trails.

At each stop, cast members give out handfuls of Mars Wrigley favorites like M&Ms, Snickers and Starburst. And no worries if you forgot your pumpkin bucket at home: Each guest will receive a complimentary treat bag for candy collection (that includes adults).

Trick-or-treaters do not have to be in costume to collect candy. Guests are encouraged to dress up in creative Halloween costumes. Be sure to follow the official costume guidelines.

It’s been three hundred years, right down to the day … or it seems that long since we’ve seen the Sanderson Sisters take the stage. This fan-favorite show is both hilarious and bone-chilling as Winifred, Sarah, and Mary try their haphazard best to cast a spell.

It turns out that they need a little help from their friends, who happen to be some of the most nefarious Disney Villains, including the likes of Hades, Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Dr. Facilier, and The Evil Queen. Guests will help add ingredients to the cauldron with lots of clapping and singing along.

Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular

As the party creeps closer to the witching hour, guests are invited to a spooky story time with the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington, who has transformed Cinderella Castle into a haunted house. Do You Know That Cruise Ships Have God Parents?

For as long as man has sailed the sea and christened ships they have asked someone to be the God Mother of the ship.

So, what is a God Parent? The God Parent is responsibility for christening the ship, usually with a bottle of alcohol of some type when it is named and launched. Then it is their responsibility to pray/have good thoughts for safe travels for the crew and passengers on that ship. They pray for protection and success in the case of working ships.

Disney Cruise line has kept that tradition alive, and each ship has been given a God Parent. Here is the list:

Magic (1998) – Particia and Roy E. Disney

Wonder (1999) – Tinker Bell

Dream (2011) – Jennifer Hudson

Fantasy (2012) – Mariah Caarey

Wish (2022) – Make-A-Wish Children (past, present, and future)

Treasure (2024) – All Disney Cast & Crew Members World Wide

Destiny (2025) – Susan Egan

Believe (2027) – To be announced near or at the christening of the ship.

The fun thing about the Wonder is it was the first time ever a fairy, cartoon or fictional character was named godparent or any ship.

Where Will Disney Ships be in Late 2027 and into 2028?

Some of this is known fact much is reasonable speculation. I will clearly state what is Fact and what is Speculation.

Known Facts!

What is New!

New Year-Round Ports! There will be new homeports starting September 2027. It has been officially been announced by both the ports and DCL that there will be a ship or two at the Port of Galveston, Tx and San Diego, Ca.

Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will be sailing out of San Diego, Ca year-round.

*This does not mean they are not going to Alaska. More on this in my opinions/speculations.

*This will be the year-round schedule starting 2027 September to May has both ships going out of San Diego. May to September there will only be one ship.

There is speculation of what ship might be full time at Galveston, Tx but the ship to be assigned there has not been announced.

Disney Believe joins the fleet at the end of 2027. She will be the Ninth ship in the fleet. The eighth ship I believe to be based in the US. She can be placed at any homeport Disney has. Tradition says they start at one of the two Disney Florida homeports.

There is not really much more known for sure so here is my speculation.

The contract between San Diego, Catalina Island and DCL sets Magic and Wonder up to be in California full time. During the summer there will be at least one Disney ship going out of San Diego. Magic and Wonder are the two ships specifically named in both contracts. Catalina leaves an opening for an “yet to be named” Disney ship.

For the last few years both Magic and Wonder have been going to Alaska for the summer months. I honestly do not see that stopping. Popularity and guest stratification are high for that destination and Disney pays attention to Guest responses. If both ships leave San Diego to go to Alaska that leaves no ship in California as contracts states there must be. In my opinion DCL will bring a third ship in during the summer. Will they take the unnamed ship to Alaska leaving one of the Classic-Ships in San Diego? Will the unnamed ship stay in San Diego taking the Classic-Ships spot in California for the summer? That is unknown. We don’t know what class of ship or what ship. Again, a third ship coming to California for the summer is just speculation and my thought.

Galveston, Tx will get a ship in September 2027. The ship to call Tx homeport has not been mentioned in any official communications from Disney or the Ports. It may be one of the Dream-Class Ships or one of the first two Wish-Class ships.

I believe that Believe and Destiny will stay in Florida with a total of five ships split between the Florida Ports, Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale. During spring/summer of 2028 I believe one ship will head to Europe, as they have been doing so for years; and a second ship will head to California to cover what Magic and Wonder can’t. That will leave three ships in Florida between the two ports for Spring/Summer.

After 2028 everything is unknown except for where Magic and Wonder will be. They are staying in California because of the two agreements signed in 2025 and 2026.

The tenth ship is scheduled to be completed in 2028 and delivered early 2029 to the new company formed by the Oriental Land Company to run their fleet there. It will be the first Disney ship to sail out of Tokyo, Japan. It is the fifth Wish-Class ship. More may be ordered once they see how well this ship does.

Also in 2029, the first of a new class of Disney Ships will be completed! This class will be slightly larger than the original Classic-Class and carry 3,000 guests. That is 400 more than the Classic-Class and 1,000 less than the Dream-Class. At this time there are a total of three of these ships have been ordered. First one joins the fleet 2029, second joins the fleet in 2030 and the third joins the fleet in 2031. Where they will be placed is a big question. Once completed there will be thirteen ships in the Disney Fleet. More of these smaller ships may be ordered. I’m waiting for the D23 Expo in August 2026 to see if there are any announcements.

I believe the ultimate goal is to have two ships at each homeport with two ships that can be deployed to seasonal destinations, like Europe and even California. They can also be deployed to take over while other ships are in drydock for their required every five-year refurbishments. It is possible that DCL will expand to more homeports on both coasts. Maybe they will do another port in the Gulf of Mexico, East Coast to go to towards Canada, and maybe on the West Coast between California and Canada. Only time and Disney will officially say.

Next Ship, Disney Believe

Disney Cruise Line had ordered two what is now called the Wish-Class ships. Then they added two more and quickly added one more for a total of five Wish-Class ships! Of those ships three are already in service and the fourth is in the process of being built. The first three ships are Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.

The fourth Wish-Class ship was named Disney Believe, March 18^th, 2026. Construction started August 8^th, 2025, on Disney Believe with the Steel Cutting Carmony. March 28^th, 2026, one Funnel and the LNG tank were delivered to the Meyer Werft Shipyard where construction is under way.

We know Believe will have the same floor plan as the other Wish-Class ships. Like the other Wish-Class ships she will also have a theme. The theme of Disney Believe will be promise and possibilities.

Believe will share powerful tales of characters who believe in themselves. From the mystical worlds of Encanto and Frozen, to the wishing wells of Snow White, to the depths of the sea with Moana and The Little Mermaid there are endless stories waiting to be discovered and now chapters ready to unfold.

DCL has not announced the date of the Maiden Voyage at this time. Believe is expected to join the fleet in late 2027.

As an addendum I’ll add these two tidbits:

The fifth Wish-Class ships was ordered for the company that owns/runs Disneyland Tokyo. Construction has not started yet but could start in the next four months or so. It should be completed by late 2028 and will sail out of Tokyo beginning early 2029.

There are 3 more ships ordered that will be built by Meyer Werft. They will be completed in 2029, 2030 and 2031. Construction of the first one should start sometime in 2027. We know they will be larger than the Magic/Classic-Class and carry about 400 more guests than those ships. They will be smaller than the Dream-Class and carry around 1,000 few guests than those ships.

This is the official release from the Port of San Diego, Ca and Disney Cruise Line. Continue reading after the official comments for my thoughts.

Disney Cruise Line and the Port of San Diego today announced a new agreement through at least 2031, which will approximately double the number of Disney Cruises out of San Diego each year.

For guests, this means more opportunities to embark on magical vacations to Catalina Island, Baja and the Mexican Riviera, with a broader rang of seasonal itineraries and more frequent departures.

“San Diego has been an import part of our West Coast operations for more than a decade, and a place our guests love sailing from,” said Jose Fernandez, Vice President of Port Strategy, Development & Operations, Disney Cruise Line. “This new agreement supports our long-term growth and helps us continue contributing to the region’s economy.”

“We are grateful to continue our long-standing relationship with Disney Cruise Line,” said Chair Ann Moore, Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners. “This agreement not only enhances business operations between the Port, Disney and all our cruise line partners – it also supports a thriving cruise industry that injects missions into the region’s economy and welcomes thousands of visitors to our waterfront each year.”

The agreement secures Disney non-exclusive priority access to the Port’s North and South berths at the B Street cruise terminal, enhancing the arrival experience for passengers while also helping the Port better plan and maximize the use of its cruise ship terminals. This announcement comes as the Port is seeing an upward trajectory in cruise calls and passengers.

More than 1 million Disney Passengers are anticipated through the Port during the course of the agreement, representing the first time in more than 20 years that a cruise line has offered a minimum annual guarantee at the Port of San Diego. Disney Cruise Line’s seasonal call on San Diego will continue to bring meaningful economic benefits for the region, supporting local business and fueling jobs tied to cruise operations, tourism and port activity.

Disney Cruise Line has been a proud member of the San Diego Community since it first began sailing from the Port in 2012 and remains committed to making meaningful and positive impacts in the region. This work includes collaborations with local nonprofits and focus on youth empowerment and environmental conservation.

Most recently, Disney Cruise Line provided career development and financial literacy opportunities to local students from Junior Achievement of San Diego and collaborated with San Diego Coastkeepers to help protect the natural beauty of California coastline.

Representing the latest wave in Disney Cruise Line’s period of unprecedented global growth, this agreement ensures that San Diego remains a primary gateway for Disney’s signature brand of storytelling at sea.

San Diego will soon welcome two Disney Cruise Line ships for the 2026-2027 season, significantly expanding West Coast sailings options for the cruise line. The Disney Magic arrives in October, offering three – to seven-night voyages through November followed by a 14-night Panama Canal transit to Galveston. The Disney Wonder will homeport in San Diego from October 2026 through April 2027, sailing three – to seven-night itineraries to destinations including Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas Ensenada and Puerto Vallarta.

Avalon/Catalina Agreement:

We know DCL and the City of Avalon on Catalina Island signed a similar agreement last year. The agreement allows the following:

DCL will have preferred port assignment twice a week Sept to May and once per week May to Sept. This means that at least ONE Disney ship will be in San Diego year around.

The agreement is for 5 years and can be renewed three more times for 5 years each with increased fees. It can be renewed as it is until 2040.

DCL gave a set promised number of guests they would bring each year.

DCL will help with upgrading the area’s infrastructure to accommodate the guests.

The agreement with Catalina specifically states Disney Magic & Wonder as the ships calling there.

There is a stipulation for a third unnamed ship to also stop there at some point

My Conclusion:

I believe this shows DCL commitment to sailing out of the West Coast.

This is good news for West Coast DCL fans.

Until at least 2029 I can only guess what will happen. Summer 2028, per agreement with Catalina DCL may leave one ship in San Diego while the other summers in Alaska. In 2029 the first of the next class of Disney Ships to be built will join the fleet. At that point it is possible another ship will come West so two ships can go to Alaska.

Reading the San Diego release it sounds like a third ship will stay on the West Coast until after 2031. I may be wrong.

The potential for growth is huge. As the fleet grows so can homeports, including more on the West Coast and even some going North into Canada.

I think this is the start of Disney staying on the West Coast.

We may even see one of the new ships on the West Coast shortly after joining the fleet.

Walt Disney World Resort Vacations for 2027 through Walt Disney Travel Company have been released for theme park tickets, hotel room stays and packages through Oct. 31, 2027!

For 2027 bookings, Walt Disney World will be renaming Dining Plans to streamline what they each include. And beginning with bookings arriving Jan. 1, 2027, Walt Disney World will be offering three Dining Plan Options. When more information is available about the new Dining Plans we will share them with you.
