My Pixum - A complete overview
After your login or registration, "My Pixum" offers you a personal homepage with a quick overview of your new photos, your photo albums and the current offers as a practical quick-link. In "My Pixum" you have an overview of all current and past orders and in "My account" you can edit all the personal settings of your profile. Additionally you can find the most important links to your account in the top right corner of every page.

Online albums & friends
Starting now you can change the names of your albums, change the optical order, secure your albums with a password and invite friends to your albums with only 3 clicks. With the new community functions registered customers can have an immediate overview of their own public albums, albums of their friends and statistics about the visitors of their albums. By the end of the year we plan to expand the Pixum community with even more functions such as a gallery, a buddy-list, the possibility to import photos from other photo communities such as Google Picasa, Flickr or social communities, address-importing, photo blogs and extensive profile functions.

More upload possibilities
To upload your photos to Pixum, we now offer even faster and better upload possibilities for most operating systems under "Upload photos". An email-upload for cell phones and an improved FTP-upload for professionals will offer you efficient and excellent comfort while uploading your photos.

New shop & new photo book area
To offer you more service, more functionality and more products, naturally we have also expanded our shop area. Due to a new categorization our shop now offers you a better overview and more structure. We are also expecting some new products...

The extra navigation bar and our improved product-search-function will help you to find the right product from our assortment of more than 150 products.

Our completely new designed photo book pages now offer you a simple entry in the area Pixum EasyBook. Here you will find the perfect overview of all formats (incl. XL & XXL), our photo book software and the possibility to repeat your order with only a few clicks.

Additionally we have developed a help function, with which you can create your own photo book with your best digital photos in only a few steps.

Bad Luck at Brands Hatch

Bad weather and mid-race collisions made it a sad weekend for Mathias Lauda at Brands Hatch. On the shortest track in the DTM calendar (only 1.929 kilometers) things were not going to plan for our Pixum driver.
"My race was practically already over in the first lap", said a disappointed Mathias Lauda on the initial phase.

After a disappointing qualifying, Mathias was aiming to finish in the top 10. This was not to be as he narrowly avoided Maro Engel who slid across the track after a crash on only the 2nd corner.

„My race ended after the first lap. Albers had turned Maro. I was just able to evade him, but had to go over the grass. This ended my race already in the first lap. I actually had a good start, but afterwards I was behind seven seconds. I was able to catch up and even pass by some of the other drivers, but the midfield had already stretched to a large extend.
After the two early pit stops, which were both very good, I was back where I had started. Immediately behind Ralf Schumacher, then Albers came from behind. He tried to pass my Pixum-Mercedes with the crowbar. While doing so he smashed into my car and bent my front axle. This forced me to fight the rest of the race with a contorted track, which really did me in. With all my means I focused to bring the race home safely and to maintain my 16th
place.“

„I am very much looking forward to the upcoming race in Barcelona. It is sort of a home race for me. I hope that things will finally go better for me there. Until then, I will drive home, rest a bit and then focus on the race to come. I will give everything – I promise!”, Mathias tells us with confidence. The 8th cycle of the DTM was won by Audi-driver Timo Scheider after 82 laps, with Paul di Resta (Mercedes-Benz) finishing second and Mattias Ekström (Audi) finishing third. The German drove successfully to his second win this season and with it extended his lead in the overall standings. With a small lead of 0,7 seconds the 29 year old prevailed over the distance of 158,178 kilometers against di Resta and Ekström.

The race’s special guests, Formula 1’s Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes-Benz Motorsport’s boss Norbert Haug, watched the race at the command booth. Before the start the British fan-favorite, who won the Formula 3 Euro Series in the DTM in 2005, visited many TM-drivers and wished them the best of luck. His former Formula 1 colleague Ralf Schumacher ended the race with his AMG Mercedes C-Klasse at 15th place, just before our Pixum driver Mathias. In the overall standings of the DTM Schneider is in the lead with 54 points before Green (45), di Resta (45) and Ekström (44).

The ninth DTM race of the year will take place on September 21st in Barcelona (SP).

Tragically its seemingly impregnable walls eventually fell - but only after dark betrayal from within Lady Bankes' own entourage...

Today there is no 'king of the castle', but enthroned amidst the ruins one might catch a glimpse of a little princess, a picture of innocence, blissfully unaware of the bloodthirsty events that the stones once bore witness to.

We had a week's holiday in Devon this August, consisting of rain, rain and more rain. The final evening the sun came out for about one hour, so we made the most of it and drove down to the beach at Instow to get some lungfulls of the warm sunset air. The wind had blown up strongly and a lone paraglider was battling against the waves, so I caught a shot against the evening sun and the threatening sky!

DTM: Getting Ready For Brands Hatch

The Mercedes race car of Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, sponsored by Pixum.de, will be on the road in Kent this weekend. This will be a race on home soil for four Mercedes drivers; Bernd Schneider was last year's winner and Lewis Hamilton will be coming to visit his colleagues.

Back to his roots: Lewis Hamilton will make a special appearance at Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) in Brands Hatch on Sunday. For two years, he raced for the Formula 3 Euroseries and won the title in 2005. Now, Hamilton will visit his Mercedes Benz driver colleagues of the DTM. He will be performing demonstration laps in his Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-23, hold an autograph session, and, of course, follow the race live and on the spot.

The Brands Hatch race will be the 50th time Mercedes-Benz and Audi have met in the DTM, since Audi joined in 2004. After 49 races Mercedes-Benz leads 31:18 in victories. The Mercedes-Benz drivers have won four out ofthe seven races in the 2008 season so far.

Brands Hatch is located in Kent. At only 1.929 kilometres long, the track is the shortest track on the 2008 DTM calendar.

Only 7 points separates the four top drivers in the season so far: Jamie Green is second with 40 points, only 4 points behind the leader Timo Scheider. Paul Di Resta, who came second at Nürburgring, is now fourth with 37 points, only one point behind Mattias Ekström. Brands Hatch is the home race for the four British Mercedes-Benz drivers in the DTM: Gary Paffett, the 2005 champion, is from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Jamie Green lives in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. Susie Stoddart and Paul Di Resta are Scots; Susie is from Oban and Paul lives in Bathgate.

What the racers say:

Bernd Schneider: “I look forward to Brands Hatch and with my victory last year I have good memories of this track. My win at the Nuerburgring motivates me even more. The race on the short circuit will not be an easy one; however, I am fit, well prepared and I want a podium finish.”

Jamie Green: “Completing 82 laps on this short track require one hour of maximum concentration. I look forward to my home race in front of hopefully packed grandstands.”

Head of Mercedes-Benz Motor Sport Norbert Haug: “The challenges of the less than two kilometres long Indy circuit in Brands Hatch are quite different from those recently experienced at the Nuerburgring. Apart from good speed, tactics and pit stop strategies are particularly important here, because after a couple of laps, there will be probably no situation without traffic. The race is also physically very demanding - 82 laps in a row is something you don't even see in a Formula 1 race. Lewis Hamilton's visit and his demonstration laps with his Formula 1 car are a thank you to the DTM spectators at Brands Hatch. They all can look forward to a great race and an awesome show -- with Lewis as well as with his driver colleagues in the DTM.”

Taylor was enjoying herself at the park...its shows how much fun she was having....

Travis at the seaside in Ayr...decided to take the kids to the seaside and make the most of the lovely weather...and boy...was it hot, hot, hot !!

This is a photo of Travis and his beloved Cow which he called "Blue Cow"....we took him to Legoland in June and he has lost his cuddly cow somewhere down England....so i guess this is a rare photo of him and his cow.

SummerZoom: Aletsch Glacier Switzerland

You don’t have to go to the other side of the world for breathtaking views. This is the Aletsch Glacier in Switzerland, the largest glacier in Europe.

I didn’t think that my first view of the glacier could be beaten, until I found a small path that decended steeply towards it.. Around each bend in the path was yet another stunning “photo opportunity”..

And here is a photo of the surface of the glacier – quite a surprise, as I’d always thought of them as being fairly smooth, with just a scattering of crevasses!! anne (valais)

For the first time in my 52 years of life I went off on holiday abroad by myself and what a superb holiday. I won £650 worth of vouchers in a competition and blew the lot on a week at Lake Bled in Slovenia. COuld not have chosen better. The week was sunny and hot, the hotel was superb, the food was brilliant, the country so peaceful and serene, and the travel rep so helpful. I had three full day tours, to Llubljana, the Julian Alps, the Caves and the Lipica Stud- all fascinating. I upgraded my room to a lake view which meant waking up to a fabulous view every morning. I definitely want to go back there again and could recommend it to any solo traveller. The pictures show the view part way round the lake, the view from my bedroom, and the dragon bridge at Llubljana
