Maybe you've already seen these before, but essentially, they're suppose to tell you if you're right-brained or left-brained. Sorry to break it to you but its a load of bull, however the illusion is extremely interesting. I've always seen it as rotating clockwise, and never knew how people can see otherwise. But this picture, altered a bit to trick your brain, helps you see "both sides of the story." Essentially its the features of the silhouette highlighted a certain way to give the viewer a sense of depth and perception, but when the features are reversed, a new perspective is revealed. Really cool.

While browsing the web I came across a bit of information that seemed both preposterous but also very plausible. It deals with the old CBS show called Gilligan's Island and its similarities between a very dark place;

GILLIGAN'S ISLAND aka Hell

Years ago, CBS had a popular little series called GILLIGAN'S ISLAND. There is, however, a dark secret about this "comedy" you may never have realized. The island is a direct representation of HELL.

Nobody on the island wants to be there, yet none are able to leave. Each one of the characters represents one of the 7 deadly sins:

Ginger represents LUST - she wears skimpy outfits, is obsessed with her looks, and is a borderline nymphomaniac.
Mary Ann represents ENVY - she is jealous of Ginger's beauty.
The Professor represents PRIDE - he is an annoying know-it-all.
Mr. Howell represents GREED - no explanation needed.
Mrs. Howell represents SLOTH - she has never lifted a finger to help on any of their escape plans.
The Skipper represents two sins: GLUTTONY - again, no explanation needed and ANGER - he violently hits Gilligan on each show.
This leaves Gilligan. Gilligan is the person who put them there. He prevents them from leaving by foiling all of their escape plots. Also, it is HIS island. Therefore, Gilligan is SATAN.

Crazy? He does wear red in every episode.

I really missed this show back in the day, and that theme song was catchy as hell. Fun Fact: The Big Tymer's song "Still Fly" samples from the theme song; listen carefully and you could probably hear it

My Current Obsession

So I've recently discovered the most addicting thing ever, and it only took 13 years to find. If your math is correct, you've probably guessed it was originally made in 1997, and if your brain is anywhere near the caliber of one Mr Holmes, you may have deduced that the only good things to come out of '97 are DVDs and Final Fantasy VII, and by pushing your brain capacity just a little bit further, you may have stumbled upon the topic of this post. Yes, Final Fantasy 7 is the current possesor of my attention. With school only days away, I couldn't think of a better time to play something known to cause serious sleep deprivation. But seriously, growing up, I never had a PS1; the only consoles I had was Sega Genesis and a Gameboy color. Sonic the Hedgehog was, by then, a well established friend in the Adlan household. Come 2001, all I asked for then was a Playstation 2, and there on my birthday was a big blue box with the iconic "PS2," symbol. But Final Fantasy was still not known to me.
I don't like RPG, I detest them. With the exception of Pokemon Blue, turn based combat was not my cup of tea. Having to what any amount of time more than two seconds to attack, to an eight year old, felt like an eternity.
Fast forward to 2003, by then I've had about 5 games( my parents spoiled the crap out of me ;] ) and among them was MGS 2. Til this day, I am a fan of the masterpiece that is the MGS series. However amongst these games, not a single turn based game existed. My good friend Willie lent me Kingdom Hearts. I fell in love. As a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney, I found myself connecting with the Disney characters, but confused as who the other main characters are. For instance, in the first level, you're introduced to Tidus, Wakka, and a third character I can't remember. It wasn't until later that I found out that they are the main characters to FFX. After beating the game, I became aware of many of the character's existence but had no back story on them. Still I was not so amazed that I needed to go and buy every game and play it.
Now the previously mentioned Willie actually burned me a copy of the FF7 PC game. Now I have no excuse but to play the game. However, my PC was so full of crap, it wouldn't even recognize the CD's. So I took them to a friend's house to play, only to get no farther then the first game. I dismissed the game and left them at my friend's house, who still blames me for his Final Fantasy craze.
2009, where everything is coming to fruition, I buy a new computer and decide for fill up my gigantic hard-drive with anything I could get my virtual hands on. Amoungst the vast list of downloaded materials included a FF7 game. I decided to keep it and save it for a rainy day.
Well that rainy day has come (literally and metaphorically), and now I can't stop playing that godforsaken game. Seriously, I even downloaded the official walk-through and have been on it nonstop. I hate you Japan

What have I been doing?

First of all, I learn never to press return after I type a title, because they'll just put up a post.

Anyway, I haven't been coming here in a long time. Coincidentally, I started around now last year. I expected a lot more from one year not just 10 posts(11 if you include this). Whatever I'm bored so i decided to return. My biggest problem is that I'm not dedicated enough. Like I need things to be conveniently placed for me before I can actively use it. For instance, I've been using twitter recently, and i have a dedicated iPhone app for that. And even then i don't update enough. Like 2-3 times a day. I'm not lazy, lets just get that straight. I do a huge amount of things, the problem, I just can't stop and record them. Plus I can do things for others relatively quickly, but ask me to do the same for myself, and prepare to wait for an eternity.

Is it just me or is Heroes starting to really suck

I don't know why, but during last weeks episode, I just completely zoned out. It was a weird phenomenon that never happened to me before. Usually, my eyes would be glued to the TV set the second Mohinder's Voiceover came on. But on that day, I did sometime very weird, at 9:30pm sharp, I said "This Sucks," turned of the TV and proceeded to my bed. It seems that once bright raging flame that was Heroes has been reduced to a mere candlelight, and I think I know why. LOST!. Yes, ABC's Lost has instead opened my eyes to what this type of genre is suppose to be like. What Lost has is the amount of time the producer and writers have put into it. From the first season, things you thought was negligible actually turn out to be important in future season. What I am trying to say is that Lost has in my opinion, excellent use of continuity(if I'm using it correctly?). Everything in a sense was already there, and not instead a sloppy paste. With Heroes however you can sense things aren't that carefully planned out. Whats referred to as a "Deus Ex Machina," Heroes' producers have added things instead to continue the story. I mean they even admitted to not intending to keep all of the characters, but because of demand they did. For instance, the creators have added a whole new batch of characters to continue the story, even changing things I had believed to be constants, such as Sylar's Future. There's no sense of mystery anymore, as all answers pretty much get answered the next episode, ie Who's Mr Petrelli, and what can he do, watch the next episode and you'll even know what's his favorite color. I expected more from you and seriously disappointed Mr. Kring.

To tell you the truth I have completely given up on having others read this, so that seems like a pretty decent excuse. But admitting is the first step to recovery right. So now that I got that out of the way, I've decided to use this blog as a sort of a journal, to remind me of things I did when I'm let's say 10yrs in the future. But first I must stop referring to the reader as you, as I am not writing in the 2nd person lol. To a pitiful, and lonely future blog. See you next time.

Wii Exploit

Sorry about the lack of updates to this, I've been really busy with packing and stuff. Anyway, I originally wanted this post to be about "Wanted," which some may know as a movie, but also a comic, which I really liked. However it's still early so I'm changing topics. Recently, I've been informed about a possible Wii exploit which could lead to backups being played on the Wii, however the guy who found it doesn't to release it to the public, but instead inform Nintendo about it and hopefully have it patched. Now, I'm a big fan of homebrew, and I've been looking to mod my Wii for some time now, however in lieu of this new info, I'm cautious about buying a mod chip. In all fairness I feel what, by the way his alias is, Bushing is doing is pretty noble, and in a perfect world, he should tell Nintendo. But that's just it, we don't live in a perfect world. Instead we should look at the alternative, release it, and not only will do us all a service, but also become an Icon, the new DarkAlex of the Wii scene. This could be a blessing in disguise, look what hacking did for the PSP, because of it, sales have increased drastically. Granted the Wii needs no bump in sale figures, but more money never makes anyone unhappy. Do the right thing Bushing
