African Americans & Real Christians should be in the forefront of Protesting Domestic & International Anti-Gay Laws and Violence

In January of 2011 David Kato from the African nation of Uganda was bludgeoned to death. He was murdered shortly after a tabloid newspaper published names and photos of men it alleged were gay. He was a promiment gay rights activist. The cover included the words, "Hang Them". Authorities contend Kato's sexual orientation had nothing to do with the murder.

In March 2009 a group of American evangelicals held rallies and workshops in Uganda discussing how to turn gay people straight, how gay men sodomized teenage boys and how “the gay movement is an evil institution” intended to “defeat the marriage-based society.”

Uganda is a country where homophobia is so severe that their Parliament is now considering a bill to execute gay people.

Val Kalende, the chairwoman of one of Uganda’s gay rights groups, said in a statement.

“The Ugandan government and the so-called U.S. evangelicals must take responsibility for David’s blood.”

It is shameful and disgusting that some "Christians" has taken their twisted misguided interpretations of the bible; assigning them to come straight from the great sovereign God; it is this kind of narrow-mindedness which is the driving force behind the ignorant bigotry and prejudice that is being perpetuated by this religious group of anti-Christ Christians who call themselves evangelicals. They completely demoralize the Gospel of Jesus Christ and disrespect his sacrafice and then they mis-represent God's divine love and undermine his sovereignty; they should repent to the world.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, I love the Lord God with all of my heart who've given me a peace that surpasses all of the misunderstanding of the deep seated traditional religious prejudices of men which has absolutely nothing in common with Jesus Christ.

I have never participated nor have I ever had any kind of proclivity for pedophilia, beastiality, gang rape or orgies; which is also true for most of the same gender loving people that I know. I have never been molested nor have I ever molested anyone. However, I do know of more heterosexual people who've committed the mentioned offenses and have experienced molestation.

As I mentioned in my previous post; I would like for all Christians and non-Christians to restudy the bible in regards to sexuality and to re-study those 5 or 6 isolated misused verses within the historical context of who it was written to, when and why it was written.
Please remember that U.S.A African slave owners professed to be Christians and they arrogantly misused and abused the many scriptural references about slavery to justify their hate and greed.

Unfortunately it is the man-made Religious Establishment (not Christ or true Christians) that has faithfully & carelessly defined same gender love/homosexuality as sin. If you love God, you will then keep his commandment of loving your brother as you love yourself; love does not inflict the religious tradition of taking scripture completely outside of it's original context to demonize your brothers and sisters in order to uphold man-made doctrinal prejudicial traditions. Proper scriptural context is the key.

For the Love of God... Stop It!

Happy New Year & Welcome to 2012! It's a new season and a new day and it's time to get our houses in order as Christians and non-Christians. We need peace for our mind, body and our souls. I'm talking about a sober and divine peace that will allow you to remain peaceful and restful even when everyone around you may give you a pass to worry, fret and to even act out your life in some destructive manner.

I know that over the years and probably most of your life; traditional church folk has gone rogue and have carelessly ridden roughshod over your heart, mind and have even trampled your soul by handing down an ungodly, unjust judgment of taking the word of God completely out of scriptural context to demonize your God given sexuality.
I have dealt with each of those misused scriptures quite handily on this blog site; please spend the time to understand for yourself.

If you are one of those who have ignorantly (I say ignorantly in the most loving way) inflicted that kind of pain to some of God's children in his name; for the LOVE of our God, please stop upholding those man made prejudiced traditions and assigning them as coming directly from the sovereign God (i.e. U.S.A. slave owners with scriptural references professed to be Christians) and re-study God's word within the historical context of when and why it was written; you "miss the mark" when you condemn a people that God nor his son Jesus the Christ has never condemned.

If you are a non-Christian and have become a victim of the traditional Christian church who has rejected the essence of who you are; I implore you to stop and study or re-study the life and love of Jesus the Christ in the New Testament (starting with Matthew) in the King James Version of the bible. "many of the modern versions of the bible has inserted anti-gay verbiage"

I promise you that the sovereign God who manifested himself as a man through his son Jesus the Christ who walked this earth (this has been documented by theologians and other scholars) over 2,000 years ago does not reject your sexuality (which is not sinful in itself) and he loves and cares about you more than you could ever know.
John 3:¹⁶For God so LOVED the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

¹⁷For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

When you start to read and understand who Jesus the Christ really was and who and how wonderful he really is and what he he requires of you... you will be amazed of the simplicity of becoming a follower of Jesus Christ. (the word 'Christian' has been muddied up so badly by church folk)

While reading and understanding the bible; you may be overcome with a calm and a peace that surpasses all of the misunderstandings of the venomous anti-gay religious politics of man made customs and traditions that has been forced upon us for generations.

I'll leave you with these words from when Jesus had just admonished the people in these certain towns; they witnessed many miracles and still did not believe.

The 1st Same Gender Loving Couple in the Bible?

Most traditional Christians will assume and then dare anyone else not to embrace their ideology; that the loving covenant shared between David &Jonathan was nothing more than a deep brotherly love just as I love my 3 biological brothers.

Traditional Christians and non-Christians will accuse me or anyone else of twisting the scriptures; even if we actually read and understand the story within the context of how it was actually written.

It would be considered a "holy" offense to most traditional Christians and non-Christians and their ideology for anyone to assume or even allow the thought of anything close to homosexuality to enter their brain when it comes down to the story of David & Jonathan in the books of 1st & 2nd Samuel in the bible.

The definition of ideology is a meaningful belief system: a set of beliefs, values, and opinions that shapes the way a person or a group such as a social class thinks, acts, and understands the world.

Our hard lined anti-homosexual Christian tradition has trained us not to read anything extra into the heavily passionate expressions of love shared between David & Jonathan. When you read the story of David and Jonathan in the King James Version of the bible; it is abundantly clear that they had a special love for each other that was expressed like no other covenant of love between 2 individuals through-out the entire bible.

I have extracted 9 passages of scripture from the story of David & Jonathan from 1st and 2nd Samuel; after reading the passages, I would like for you to grab your King James Version of the bible in order to read the entire story; 1st Samuel 13th chapter through 2nd Samuel 1st chapter. Your interpretation of the story may or may not differ from mine however, understanding the story within it's context is the key; not ones ideology.

1 Samuel 18:1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

4And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

1 Samuel 20:4 Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do it for thee.

17And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

^**30Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness?**

41And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded.

1 Samuel 23:17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.

2 Samuel 1:26 I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

A few years ago I read this very fascinating "observation" regarding the story of David & Jonathan; it was linked in one of the comments on my blog site. This "unknown" writer did an outstanding job of chronicling the above verses and chapters in 1st & 2nd Samuel with historical data infused with his or her personal commentary.
The reader who sent me that link back then did not indicate if he wrote this piece or not even after reaching out to him. I have decided to share it with everyone. Open your heart and soul to this very captivating historic experience.

The bible is a book that despite it's graphic detail of murders of entire cities, cutting off of hundreds of dead men's foreskins, beheadings, and fire and brimstone all-over, is actually pretty conservative when it comes to sex.

Most of the sexual situations and implications are hidden in allegory or colorful, well chosen language. This is done as to be direct in what it's trying to say, without being too blunt and unsettling to the reader or congregation being spoken to.

One of the stories that contain several innuendos that are constantly ducked and weaved is the tale of David and Jonathan.

It is a story that would be described as a romantic friendship. A romantic friendship is a term in literature that more-so applied to men in the 1500's-1800's. It described a deep intimate friendship between two men where the relationship went deeper than that of a man and woman. These were relationships where men sometimes lived under each others roof, sometimes slept in the same bed, and shared all that the other had.

These men in romantic relationships were usually grown men with beards and money and businesses and education. Or they were dirt poor and dirty with nothing but their families and their friendship to one another. But the friendships were deep, spiritual, life-long, and sometimes out in the open.

They even included blood covenants of sorts. Sometimes it was almost like a civil union.
It was small and intimate and not always legal binding but a testament of commitment and love to one another. In other words these men had these marriages mainly for themselves and not as an institution of society like traditional marriage between a man and a woman.

So how does this apply to David and Jonathan. Well the King James version of the Bible was written by you guessed it King James the 1st. A man who ruled in Scotland in the mid 1500's.

King James was open with his bi-sexuality to the point where it made people extremely uncomfortable, having live-in male lovers and courtesans and the whole nine yards.

He oversaw the editing of the final version of the bible you and me read today.
The bible needed to be a book that people could carry around with them, instead of an entire encyclopedia. To spread the message of the word of God, the story needed to be simplified dramatically. And so it was simplified.....dramatically.

Every word in the bible was meticulously translated from other languages, entire books were cut out, stories chopped in pieces and re-edited

What was lost in the original text is still preserved in the Jewish and Greek translations which tell us a lot more about certain stories and passages.

What we can find in the story of David and Jonathan in the original Greek are constant emphasis on Phallic images. And a language of love usually only reserved for a man and a woman. What we have in the tale of David and Jonathan is the deepest love story in the bible. And it's between one man and another.

It was a Romantic Friendship including a "Marriage of Brotherhood" or a Blood Covenant in the very beginning of the story.

1 Samuel 18:3-18:4
Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

I won't get into the implications of the entire story too much as the numerous homoerotic text have been covered over and over again. Just do a google search and there are a hundred sites which can help explain these better than I ever can.

But there is one verse that always seems to be missed, and it is an important one.
1 Samuel 20:30
Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness?

It sounds strange but it's not.

The words "sin of thy mothers nakedness", almost always refers to sexual deviation in the bible. As it was thought that if a child of a certain age had seen his mother completely naked he/she would be sexually malformed for life. It's an old wives tale.

The words "son of a rebellious woman" is basically an off- hilt insult to someone's character, kinda like calling someone a "son of a bitch" would be today. It is not necessarily an insult to one's own mother.

The word "have chosen" is in the original Greek are a lean on the words Comrade or Paired with or Bonded together.

Ok.

So here is the context of the situation. Saul the king of Israel has been repeatedly trying to kill David by spontaneously throwing his spear at him on some Dr. Jekyl type madness every time David plays his wonderful harp music for him.
David eventually gets scared of Saul and his mental problems and goes into hiding by himself, away from everyone in some cave out in yonder.

Prince Jonathan(Saul's son) finds David in his hiding place and tells him he is being silly and his father wouldn't really want to kill him.

But, David stays in hiding away from Saul just in case.
King Saul knows that David and Jonathan are very very close, to the point were it makes Saul uncomfortable as he sees David as a threat to his son's throne and his lineage. There is a looming tone in the story that David will one day be the King of Israel. Saul does not like that idea, and is insanely jealous of David for a variety of reasons.

He thinks his son Jonathan is throwing everything away for his love of David.

So while sitting over the dinner table having a feast one day Saul quietly ask Jonathan where David is, as he hasn't been seen in a few days.

Jonathan dodges the question with some made up bullcrap answer that Saul easily sees through.
Saul becomes enraged, at his son and shouts:

You son of a Bitch!!!!
Don't you think that I already know you have chosen David as you Lover/Comrade in the confusion of your twisted sexually versus your right to the throne. You are a disgrace to yourself __________________________________

Then Saul bluntly ask Jonathan to go find David and Bring him back so he can kill him.

1 Samuel 20:31
For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.

Yeah he was pretty blunt with it. He was saying that you will never inherit your rightful place on the throne unless David is gone.

Jonathan then ask Saul, Why should he die? What has he done?

1 Samuel 20:32
And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what hath he done?

Saul answers Jonathan kindly by picking up his trusty javelin and hurling it at his own son.

1 Samuel 20:33

And Saul cast a javelin at him to smite him: whereby Jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to slay David.

After that stunt Jonathan obviously hauls ass out the room like a bat out of hell.

Jonathan realized a while ago that David is the right man for the throne, the one chosen by God to rule over Israel.

In order to keep this destiny from being sidelined and to protect David's life, he has to keep his distance away from him permanently. If he is seen with David again his father has a chance of finding him and killing him. So the men cry together and hold each other and say their final goodbyes. And these sweet words are spoken as they solidify their covenant to one another.

Samuel 20:41-42
And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded.

And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.

There is so much more to the story, that is just as beautiful, including the famous words of David to Jonathan after he has died in battle. If you want to know more you can research that for yourself.

But I draw attention to this verse 1 Samuel 20:30 as it seems to be one that no-one can explain.

It's a verse obviously drawing attention to some perceived sexual sin. All other verses in the text can be explained away as a deep male friendship.

This one indeed cannot. It is obvious in it's implications. It's Sexual.

King James and those men who edited the bible in the 15th century knew what they were doing, and they knew what the original writers were trying to imply with this story. I'm sure many of them has set foot in that world of romantic male friendships and have been blessed with it's graces. It was a common concept throughout their day.

They left in more words and innuendos than they needed to, to color the story in a way that certain perceptive people would get the idea. Or, at least to install the proper picture in the back of your mind.

The question is do people in this world of today get the picture at all.
Or do they simply just refuse to see it.............

Encouraging Messages that Inspires & Motivate...

I decided to share just a handful of fairly recent messages from among many that I have received in the last 4+ years from some of my readers. All of the messages and comments that I have received vary from positive and some negative; some have been posted to the blog site and others were sent via email.

The negative messages assist me in sharpening the point of what I am implying in my communication and the positive energy of encouragement inspires and motivates me to keep fighting the good fight of faith and truth.

I am sometimes overwhelmed with tears of gratitude and thanksgiving from your positive expressions; for the very simple fact that someone clearly understood and got the message. I sincerely thank you all for reading, sharing and expressing your thoughts with me so eloquently.

Living an authentic life is truly the key to life, love and happiness. Being fearful of
"what the people" family, friends or church folk may say or think of you is certainly not a healthy "religious" way to live out your life.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

I find everything you had to say to be really fascinating. You handle what you say with bravery and a sense of integrity. As a gay man, I have gone down some dark roads trying to reconcile myself with my spirituality. I just want to say that I found what you had to say to be inspiring. I have come to realize that if being gay is a sin, it is worse of a sin to lie to yourself and members of the opposite sex, because that is what I think is hurting people more. Lies are not good. Godly people shouldn’t get us to lie to ourselves.

Your findings about the psychology of religion today is spot on. They have turned Christianity into a passionate tirade against homosexuality than an adoration for God. Thanks again for your time and God bless you.

Good morning...

Yes, its past 6 a.m.....and I haven't been to sleep all night (long story)....and was just on your blog page. First of all, I have to say thank God for a friend of mine who sent your link to me. I just wanted to also thank you for having the courage to be so fearless and revealing. Sooooooo many of us are having the same struggles. And the struggles come in so many different varieties. I found your blog to be refreshing and confirming. I am going through my own spiritual renewal at the moment and perhaps will share with you at another time. However, in short, I am a Black gay man, about to turn 50 next year (unbelievable) who has known his sexuality all his life....grew up in Evangelism...father an Elder of the church....etc., etc. I am constantly having to fight depressive episodes due to not living a truly authentic life, especially in respect to true intimacy and actually believing that I will ever have a meaningful and fruitful relationship (never even been in love....and almost 50.....pathetic!!! LOL) But I have withdrawn from the church world for some time now, trying to figure out just what I have been doing all this for and why? I feel that God has been bringing certain things across my path, such as Rev. Carlton Pearson's book..and now your blog. Things that are helping me find a clearer road, without all the superfluous church chatter!

Although I do not blog, I have many continuous conversations/discussions going with a handful of close friends who are struggling...that could really be turned into one! I will certainly be forwarding your link to several more people in order to stimulate our dialogue further. I really look forward to your continued submissions.

Hi. I am new to your site but I love it. Thanks for your blog and your insight. I am a 45 year old black gay man, and I have been affected by the message from the black church on homosexuality. In my life I have felt suicidal and down. For years, I shut myself off from family and friends because I didn't want to get too close to people because I feared they would find out who I really was--a gay man. I've lost a lot of good people being in my life that way. Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. I was not living that abundant life and I'm afraid so many of my gay brothers and sisters are not either. Even now, it's a daily journey. Thank you, man for sharing your story and words with us. It helps more than you know.

I'm go glad u sent this 2 me. I've read thru the 1st part of this and I find it extremely interesting. It's so great 2 me, because some of my thoughts and views R in agreement with the article. I'm glad that articles like this R being written and put out there. There is so much ignorance in the world when it comes 2 Homosexuality. Even though this article may not make a difference 2 someone who firmly believes that Homosexuality is a "choice" , it still may make someone who does believe that way "think" about it. I do know 4 a fact that my twin brother's perception has changed 4 the better. He knows now and understand that I didn't "choose" 2 B this way and he loves and accepts me and now he has gay friends.

Some of them R his frat brothers. (He's a KAPPA) He's teaching his sons tolerance and about diversity and about not being judgmental .

Long time coming!

It is long overdue, and there should be even more repentance and apologies going on. The way that LGBT are treated is a disgrace and God is not pleased.
There is no TRUE Christian with the LOVE of God in them that can spread hate and intolerance in the name of God. You just won't find a true follower of Christ thinking or acting this way.

There are many gays and lesbians who need to be set free who are also Preachers as well but have to hide in closets. They should not have to hide, I can't imagine how frustrating that must be.
Honestly, I am somewhat glad this scandal hit with Eddie Long, I say that because enough is enough of hiding and condemning and trying to 'change' a someones sexual identity when you yourself are the very thing you preach against.
I pray God uses all of these things for a NEW BEGINNING in the Christian world, it is overdue.

Anniversary of the Bishop Long Scandal approaching; I was interviewed by BET as a gay member...

Black Entertainment Television (B.E.T) News Correspondent Tony Anderson conducted an interview with me; Samuel Brown as a gay New Birth Missionary Baptist Church member since 1993 (now former member) last year in October 2010.

When the scandal first surfaced in September 2010 I gave my then pastor and spiritual leader the "benefit of the doubt" in sincerely trusting that he would have fully understood the gravity of displaying honesty and integrity at such a time as this... was that too much to expect?

As a believer and follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ; granting forgivness to one another is a given... losing trust & respect for a spiritual leader is a completely different ball game.

You’ll have to understand my background and my aspirations in order to understand why I stayed at New Birth for so long even in the midst of the stormy infamous homophobic sermons and the "notorious march".

I would like to address those of you who just don’t understand.

I was raised in a very large traditional religious family where both my parents were and are ministers in the notoriously brutal anti-gay Church of God In Christ organization
(that is simply the truth) there is still much that I love about C.O.G.I.C due to my roots.

I have always loved the Lord and the church and have always had a heart to worship and please the Lord. After years of feeling personally bashed by the church, I continued to fellowship with the “saints.”

After moving to Atlanta to attend Morehouse College and finally joining New Birth a few years later. New Birth became a breathe of fresh air compared to where I came from… in spite of the negative attacks that came across the pulpit against innately born homosexual people. I was finally forced to rely on my strong convictions that my mentor Jesus Christ loved and accepted me just the way that I was made by God. Although I really tried, I could never receive those nasty messages from the traditional organized church that I would be “damned to hell” and that I was “not in the Lord’s will” due to the authenticity of my innermost being.

One day I read a book entitled “What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality” by Daniel Helminiak Ph.D. I read that book and many others of that genre including a Bishop Long book a few years later entitled “Gladiator, Strength of Man” This book transforms men into gladiators that stand against injustice amidst impossible odds. My life has not been the same since that spring of 2000. I finally got my footing; I have grown spiritually in the most non-traditional religious manner and I truly know my purpose.

My heart is filled with joy when I visit Pastor O.C Allen’s “Vision Church of Atlanta”, Pastor Dennis Meredith’s “Tabernacle Baptist Church” Pastor Randy Morgan’s “New Covenant Church of Atlanta", Bishop Jim Swilley’s Church in the Now and Dr. Kenneth Samuel’s “Victory for the World Church” these and a few other churches provides a refuge of inclusion to the traditionally renounced individual.

In the bible at the Last Supper before Jesus was crucified; he had a conversation with Simon who is known as Peter and this is what he said: Luke 22:31And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. This is what I have been charged to do; strengthen my same gender loving brothers and sisters who have not yet found refuge by sharing my blog site with Bishop & Mrs. Long, his staff and other members of the church and the community at large for the last few years. I have also self-published my personal testimony entitled “Son of a Bishop, My Testimony” the tool that I used to “come-out” to my parents with in 2005. I am prepared and ready to eradicate the prejudice and the ignorance that surrounds sexuality which prevents people from completely loving and embracing one another around the world.

Christians Apologize to the Gay Community

This posting and the video is a reflection of spiritual truth, love and humility. This is an example of what will unfold when true Christians lay down divisive doctrine and the "religious" traditions of men that have only harmed and driven a wedge of derision towards a misunderstood population of people for many generations; assigning personal prejudice and injustice to the sovereign God.
My heart and soul is satisfied to see what just happened last month in the Heartland of America. I pray for a "ripple affect" from the center of our country to each coast and then global saturation.

we proclaim the Good News concerning Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) persons and publicly apologize where we have been silent. As disciples of Jesus, who assures us that the truth sets us free, we recognize that the debate is over. The verdict is in. Homosexuality is not a sickness, not a choice, and not a sin. We find no rational biblical or theological basis to condemn or deny the rights of any person based on sexual orientation. Silence by many has allowed political and religious rhetoric to monopolize public perception, creating the impression that there is only one Christian perspective on this issue. Yet we recognize and celebrate that we are far from alone, as Christians, in affirming that LGBT persons are distinctive, holy, and precious gifts to all who struggle to become the family of God.

In repentance and obedience to the Holy Spirit, we stand in solidarity as those who are committed to work and pray for full acceptance and inclusion of LGBT persons in our churches and in our world. We lament that LGBT persons are condemned and excluded by individuals and institutions, political and religious, who claim to be speaking the truth of Christian teaching. This leads directly and indirectly to intolerance, discrimination, suffering, and even death. The Holy Spirit compels us:

to affirm that the essence of Christian life is not focused on sexual orientation, but how one lives by grace in relationship with God, with compassion toward humanity;

to embrace the full inclusion of our LGBT brothers and sisters in all areas of church life, including leadership;

to declare that the violence must stop. Christ’s love moves us to work for the healing of wounded souls who are victims of abuse often propagated in the name of Christ;

to celebrate the prophetic witness of all people who have refused to let the voice of intolerance and violence speak for Christianity, especially LGBT persons, who have met hatred with love;

Therefore we call for an end to all religious and civil discrimination against any person based on sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. All laws must include and protect the freedoms, rights, and equal legal standing of all persons, in and outside the church.

Anti-Christ Christians;
This Letter Has Been Written to Challenge the Traditional Christian

I was raised in a traditional Christian home and have attended the traditional Christian church most of my life; I've always heard about the "Anti-Christ" and that the Anti-Christ will come as an individual man who will be manifested as the great deceptive leader of the world that will reign 3.5 years before the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ certainly did not return on May 21st 2011 as recently prophesied.

Traditional Christian folk have speculated for many years of whom they predicted to be that great deceiver who is to come. Popular secular leaders from Adolf Hitler (absolutely one of the worst) to President George W. Bush and more recently President Barack Obama has been chosen, prophesied (prophelied) by many in the Traditional Christian world as the chief candidate for that damnable position. Traditional Religious folk will continue to make costly errors with their interpretation of scripture; turning people off from getting to personally know how great, loving and just our God is through his son Jesus Christ.

The definition of "anti" is to be opposed to something or expressing or holding an opposing view, especially with regard to a political issue or moral principle.

The definition of Christ is the same as Jesus Christ; Christ is the English term for the Greek Χριστός (Khristós) meaning "the anointed one It is a translation of the Hebrew מָשִׁיחַ (Māšîaḥ ...

Recently I had a personal profound revelation concerning what is now actually happening in the world; physically and spiritually... I briefly mentioned this epiphany in my previous post;
I declared that:
"America is changing for the better in many different aspects"... "The bigots are starting to lose in all areas of life... there's a spiritual shift going on in the world right now..."

The traditional evangelical, pentecostal, holiness "charismatic" church has been prophesying and predicting a shaking and a shifting in the church world for many years now... the true part about that prediction is that it is really happening; but not so much along the lines of their anticipated, cynical condemning message that demonizes and announces doom and gloom toward same gender loving people who didn't have a choice regarding their sexuality.

Let's talk about this "shaking" that is going-on in the church world... the irony is that "this shaking" it is the very core foundation of biblical truth and reality that is being "shook" concerning the very disparaging message of condemnation to the many same gender loving congregants of these church institutions. Mega church pastors and religious leaders world wide are being called out on their traditional doctrine of "holiness". Their feet is being held to the fire that is burning away the hypocrisy of spewing vitriol from the pulpit toward same gender loving people; some are living a double life of those that they condemn.
Some people are starting to read and understand the word of God within it's proper context and direction; some have stopped listening only to their pastors and the religious community who thrives on clinging-on to the unjust, anti-Christ tradition in the name of holiness. Holiness is living a life of spirit led truth and peace; not some form of religion that postulate and pontificates a battered soul into judgmental submission.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Jesus Christ; he is also the reason and the meaning of why Christianity exists. Did he not determine and define what is considered sin? It amazes me of why and how could a body of believers who are followers of Jesus Christ actually read and interpret the holy scriptures within its proper context; regarding the scriptures that have been misused and misinterpreted so badly on the subject matter of homosexuality or same gender loving people and then declare that they have discovered such a Rhema word in so many different other areas of ministry but they have willfully failed to ascertain a Rhema word on sexuality. Rhema (ῥῆμα in Greek) literally means an "utterance" or "thing said" in Greek. It is a word that signifies the action of utterance. In Christianity, it is used in reference to the concept of Rhematos Christou; Jesus Christ's sayings.

Was Jesus Christ the Son of God aware of God fearing people who were born naturally with spiritual, mental and physical emotions for the same gender? Matthew 19:12 KJV (The words of Jesus) For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. If the body of Christ were to share complete bible truths within it's proper context and leave out the traditional (anti-Christ) disguise and coloration that has blanketed the body of Christ (the church) with the sensationalized historic sexual acts that specifically displayed the rampant orgy and idol worship from a sect of heterosexual people who whole-heartedly and purposefully turned their backs on God and their sexuality to worship an idol god; so God abandoned them for choosing to worship an idol god in Romans 1st chapter KJV.
If the church were to continue with bible truth in its proper context then one would see that 1st Corinthians 6:9 KJV spoke to male prostitutes; the scriptural examples does not speak to same gender love, innate sexuality or gay people.

Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself .

Contrary to popular religious belief; it is a very dangerous and an unloving practice to use the bible to lead a young man or young woman to live a life of "concerted deception" based on man made religion and personal traditional ideology. Concerted deception (for this subject matter) is when a person decides to live their life and make personal choices for their life that is contrary to their God-given innate sexuality in order to please family and church society and then claim "deliverance". Man made traditional religion and personal ideology has lead many in the body of Christ in to mental and spiritual anguish in trying to change something that God has never asked anyone to change. The body of Christ (church) has inflicted some of the most subversive, anti-Christ behaviors on many of God's same gender loving children and they are responsible for hurting and damaging many of those souls.

Before you revert back to the old testament verses in Leviticus chapter 20 & chapter 18 and the infamous story of Sodom & Gomorrah in Genesis chapter 19 as a means of justification for assigning your personal prejudice and bigotry to the sovereign God; I beseech you to actually read those entire chapters word for word in the King James Version of the bible and understand them in their proper context; it was man made religious doctrine (the letter) that tainted the world with divisions, denominations, homophobia, racism, sexism and bunch of other whodo to satisfy their judgmental egos of hierarchy; undermining and disrespecting the sacrifice and accomplishments of Jesus the Christ to persecute others by inflicting pain to others in God's name. 2nd Corinthians 3:6 KJV Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

It would "behoove" the Traditional Christian Church World to self evaluate before looking outside of Christendom for that great deceiver who is to come as the "Anti-Christ".

American Idol's Jacob Lusk: The Oppressor's Bigotry is Losing in all Areas of Life...

Please patiently follow me in this posting as I attempt to make a point concerning the real bigots and oppressors in this life and tie this together with the incomparable 'Jacob Lusk' from this season of the 'American Idol' competition that is showcasing the most formidable contestants in 'American Idol' history.

An oppressor is someone or a system that harshly dominates or subject a person or a people to a harsh or cruel form of domination.

A bigot is basically an intolerant person who refuses to accept different views.

There are many forms and examples of personal, domestic and government wielded oppression that subjects people to harsh and cruel treatment.

We are now seeing the results of institutionalized oppression unraveling on a global basis; the proof is the unrest of the people in several Middle Eastern nations who've been under the oppression of dictators & tyrants for generations and are now fighting relentlessly for their freedom and the oppressors are losing in most of those countries.

Even here in the United States of America which is a fairly young nation that was built on the promises of equality for all people; the land of the free and the home of the brave where everyone has the right to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; yes we have ours issues as well.

The USA's history of equality & freedom for all people is quite embarrassing based on the initial pretense of the development of this nation. However the oppression and the ills of USA Slavery, the oppression of the Women's Rights Movement, the oppression & segregation of the Civil Rights Movement and the oppression & discrimination of the Gay Rights Movement; we are fortunate to say that the oppressor has completely lost regarding USA Slavery and is all but losing steam pretty badly regarding the rest of those cancerous ills in our society today.

The oppressors are everyday people like you and I who participate in forming systems and upholding those systematic institutions, religions and even attitudes that judges, discriminates and represses people often times in the name of tradition or religion; those individuals are called bigots.

A very good friend of mine asked for an update on the latest episode of 'American Idol' via text messaging since he missed it the night before; this particular friend is a very closeted, discreet same gender loving person who prides himself on only associating with other people who are like minded which was somewhat my method of operation once upon a time.

This particular friend and I are very much into critiquing music and the craft of singers, gifted singers & their voice qualities. I assumed that he and I would be in agreement that 'Jacob Lusk' is the best vocalist among the many other very talented and gifted singers on the show this year.

It was this part of the conversation that struck me to write this posting:

I will call my friend Dante to protect his identity. Knowing that Dante and I would be in agreement when I said that 'Jacob Lusk' was the best singer in the competition; Dante said "Jacob is great, but for some reason I aint feeling him." Foreseeing my friend's mentality about certain people who are different... I stated "I hope that your reason for not feeling Jacob is not because he naturally possesses effeminate qualities?" Dante responded "I hope not either but when he performs he does kinda irk me" so I proceeded to make the point that Jacob's overall singing ability, range and voice quality is superior to the other male contestants; not making light of any of the other gifted singers. (I have other favorites as well) Dante somewhat agreed that Jacob indeed sounds better but then Dante said "Maybe Jacob should try to hold it together so that he can win" (speaking of Jacob abandoning his natural effeminate qualities) I said to Dante that "you have just answered my 1st concern of when I asked you about Jacob's natural effeminate qualities; I knew that the truth would come out!"

I made the point that "Jacob's talent and ability is so great that he could win just being himself"

Dante said "Yea, a great possibility but let's not forget that this is America and unfortunately they are not ready" then I said "America is changing for the better in many different aspects"... "The bigots are starting to lose in all areas of life... there's a spiritual shift going on in the world right now..." We all must learn to take personal responsibility for our own personal actions and reactions to injustice.

I too have been guilty of having a bigoted attitude towards other same gender loving people who were different from me just as Dante expressed the same bigoted attitude toward Jacob Lusks' natural effeminate qualities over his extraordinary gift of song. Those bigoted attitudes are the same attitudes that represses, judges and discriminates which equals oppression.

Lord please forgive us all and give us all the courage and the fortitude to do better when we know better; to make the world around us a better and more peaceful place for all of our brothers and sisters.

Religious & Non-Religious Prejudice towards Same Gender Loving People = Equals Racial Prejudice and Discrimination which undermines the Civil Rights Movement

How dare I compare the two... Yes I said it and I mean it with every beat of my heart.
I am so sick and tired of the hypocrisy from religious church folk and non-religious black and non-black folk assigning their personal prejudices and their "holy" misguided fundamentalist doctrine, condemnation, customs, traditions and contradictions on homosexuality to the all knowing creator of mankind; the sovereign God.

Hateful preachers who passionately and arrogantly disseminate the "ignorant" message that one must be set-free and holy ghost delivered from homosexuality which is not God's best choice; maybe it is not the best choice for you if you actually chose your sexuality. You are not preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and your rhetoric is not ordained by God.

My heart aches for my same gender loving/gay/homosexual/lesbian brothers and sisters who continuously succumb to the spiritual and scriptural enslavement and abuse that's handed down from generation to generation in the religious church establishment and in our society.

People within that establishment will misuse and abuse the popular statement: "The bible is certain that we are all born in to sin." That holds true for everyone, however when the traditional religious establishment disingenuously places an undue & unjust burden on people who were innately/naturally born with same gender attraction; when you demonize us and tell us that we are intrinsically evil and that our basic human natural need for spiritual, mental and physical intimacy and companionship is an abomination and off limits for covenants and marriage; you all have overstepped your scriptural & judgmental boundaries over the sovereign God the creator:
Hebrews 13:4 (KJV) Marriage is honourable in ALL, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. It didn’t say homosexuals will be judged. Sin takes place when a heterosexual or a homosexual takes part in adultery, whoremongering, killing, stealing, lying, anger, idol worship, etc.

The religious establishment circumvents biblical truth in order to interpret scripture completely out of historical context or alter scripture that is now displayed in the many other versions of the bible to uphold man-made religious customs than can destroy a homosexual person's soul. When reading those isolated verses within their proper context and in all their TRUTH; those 5 or 6 verses condemns bisexuality, gang rape, a group of heterosexual people who abandoned God and their sexuality to worship idol gods of sex etc., and male prostitution; those particular verses do not address or define Same Gender Love or Same Gender Loving people.
Just compare the King James Version bible text to any other bible version that you may have and specifically look at the verses used against homosexual people; you will find a biased homophobic example of audacious wickedness and immorality operating... Jesus Christ, Apostle Paul and the eunuchs of the bible will confirm for you that there is no mandate or commandment to marry the opposite gender and procreate.

"If you are practicing homosexual you can't be a Christian" Let's get one thing straight and be totally clear that it is man made religion that has made that ghastly judgment and ungodly mandate for the homosexual; that statement and position drips from that strain of poisonous venom that has been injected in divisive doctrine which is the deep seated problem with Fundamentalist Christians in the body of Christ (the church) that statement is certainly not true, scriptural or godly. There is nothing sinful about being heterosexual or homosexual; one chooses to sin not their sexuality. The Fundamentalist Christian establishment has been riding roughshod over Same Gender Loving People and SGL Christians long enough.

It's very disturbing when people reduce their displeasure & prejudice of same gender loving people down to a vilifying stereotypical sexual act that some straight people love and not all same gender loving people participate in... Loving, monogamous, emotional, intimate, nurturing long term relationships are not exclusive to heterosexual people by no stretch of the imagination.

Comparing the sexuality of 2 consenting adults coming together in the name of love or lust for that matter; comparing that human emotion to murder, bestiality and any other evil that does not include 2 consenting adults to whatever the other evil is... those are egregious, outrageous and disingenuous comparisons.

I strongly believe and trust in the sovereign God of all creation that has established one of his laws of nature in me because I am fearfully and wonderfully made by him; marvelous are his works. I strongly believe in the sovereign God of all creation just because of that very reason; he is SOVEREIGN he can do exactly what he want to do without considering the ideology of your thoughts and feelings of how you think he should operate and rule all of his creation.

Anyone can make a prejudiced statement that is popular among traditional religious church folk; however it is the rightly divided word of God (understood in it's proper context) that establishes truth (not mine) not the popular traditions of men.

Being a part of God's great creation that has been demonized due to religion has taught me to love and embrace him and my fellow man even when I don't understand the great mysteries of his sovereignty.

The purpose of homosexual people & same gender love is identical to the purpose of heterosexual people & heterosexual love; many heterosexuals procreate and some homosexuals procreate (of course not together) GOD fulfills himself in all humans. Galatians 3:27(KJV) For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

John 3:16(KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

We undermine the valuable innovative and powerful contributions of our African American forefathers and mothers from history when we use divisive double standards to uphold prejudice and bigotry in the name of religion. To put your foot on the necks of a people that you fail to understand; that's the ultimate
"crabs in a bucket syndrome."

True Story of Attempted Suicide: Man made Religion can be a Bully

A good friend forwarded this young man's video "Del'Antonio James" to me in hopes that I would post it on my blog site in order to help someone who may be contemplating suicide and so that church folk can see what their religious ideology can sometimes produce.

Del'Antonio and I share a background from the same national religious organization called the 'Church of God In Christ' which is synonymous to the anti-homosexual/gay sentiment. When any church's agenda becomes so judgmental & mean spirited and practices alienating and demonizing people by inflicting pain in God's name; it becomes a humanity problem. You nor I had a choice regarding our innate sexuality. The divisive doctrines & religious manipulation of the holy scriptures to cast judgment on a population of God's creation can be considered religious bullying; something is fundamentally wrong.

Church folk will tell you that "I love you but I hate your sin" "I'm just telling you what God said about your homosexuality"; Do they really know the truth of what God actually said or did not say? Man made doctrine; divisions; denominations and religious ideology only voices man's personal prejudice that has altered original passages to read differently in other versions of the bible to discriminate which has nothing to do with the sovereign God our father or his son Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit of Truth; I must tell you that that kind of love has never hurt and divided so many people so badly.

I applaud this young man for having the courage to triumphantly share this very personal story which could have ended with tragedy in order to help stop the maddening affects in this sometimes cold & judgmental world. He chose to love and encourage his brothers and sisters who may be where he was.

I truly thank God for him.

It's very unfortunate that Del'Antonio became a victim of childhood molestation... (my thoughts are very clear on sexual predators in the previous posting) adults are to stay in their own lane when it comes to sexual relations just as we tell children to stay in a child's place. Thankfully the young man now has a very healthy approach concerning his past and his adult sexual attraction. He nor you and I can say that his sexual attraction would have been any different toward the same gender if that very damning incident had never occurred. I will say that I am the confident, compassionate and sometimes cocky, God fearing man that I am today and I have never experienced any kind of sexual abuse from anyone. I have a very strong personal opinion that sexual abuse does not define your innate sexuality; one may suffer mental dysfunctions due to sexual abuse but that's just my personal opinion.

I decided to revisit and consolidate a 3 part posting from almost 3 years ago for your reading convenience as this story uncannily parallels the allegations against Bishop Long. I asked a friend of mine who has a wonderful and engaging way of telling stories about his life experiences; I asked him to submit one of his stories for the blog site. I was shocked and surprised and then I became quite humbled that he decided to share such a coming of age, traumatic personal story that he's never shared with anyone. We will call my friend Nameless Ned. Hopefully Nameless Ned's story will be helpful to someone as he explained that it was very cathartic for him as he "put pen to paper" to share this truth about his life.

Our pastor had been promoted if you will to bishop and was moving to Philadelphia, so he searched for months and found an attractive preacher that was married with 2 kids. Our church instantly fell in love with this young man showering him with all that he needed to take over for the bishop. He was about 6 feet tall with sandy brown hair and green eyes. he was slim when he first moved to our small town but began to get a little bit of a belly as the years went along, he could thank the church mothers for that.

He seemed to take a liking to the young people in our church and encouraged us to sing in the choir and take over some of the responsibilities of the older deacons, we liked him for that. one Sunday after church he asked me if I would like to work with him at the radio station. (Lets stop right here and give this dynamic new pastor a name, I'll call him Mr. B) OK, I said sure Mr. B. Mr. B ran a short Christian program from 6:00 am to 9:00 am and I was over the moon that he asked me to work there.

I emptied trash cans and ran errands while he was on the air and I was happy to do it. He gave me fourteen dollars a week and to me it felt like a hundred. Mr. B was always an affectionate man, but one particular morning on the way home from the station he started to tell me a story and at the same time he was patting my thigh. Like any fourteen year old I could not help but to become aroused by his touch, but I didn't move, instead I moved closer so he would not have to reach so far over. Each week it was the same thing, he would tell me a story and now he was rubbing my thigh. Every other week he would treat me for doing a good job and take me out to eat. He said one day that we will go to a room and have breakfast and just relax. I liked him so much that I never gave it a second thought, I just gestured sure. As the weeks turned into months the rubbing went further and further up my thigh until he got to my member.

I now knew he liked me in a way that was not natural as my mother would say, but I did not stop him.
Just as he promised, one day we skipped our normal breakfast and went straight to a hotel.

When Nameless Ned forwarded Part 2 of "Pastor Pedophile" to be posted my first thoughts were: "I can't post this! Or he is going to have to clean this up, this is a Christian blog site!" Then I came to myself :) Nameless Ned is writing about a real and truthful part of his life and who am I and why would I try to stop or whitewash this reality. Truth and reality is the sole purpose of this blog site.
As you continue to read Part 2 of "Pastor Pedophile" you will see how Nameless Ned graphically explained how this Pastor(a respected leader in the community) totally took advantage of an innocent young boy who obviously already had an attraction for the same gender. However, it infuriates me anytime that an adult decides to involve themselves sexually with a heterosexual or homosexual minor in order to fulfill their sick, selfish, perverted control-issues that has not been properly dealt with from their childhood. The same thing or something similar probably happened to them as a child and then the madness becomes a cycle into their adulthood. Unfortunately, the innocent victim sometimes think and feel that they are in love, not realizing that a serious crime has been committed against them.

I became nervous as we were pulling up to the hotel thinking to myself, what have I got myself into. I was asked to wait in the car while he got the room, so I did.When he came back with the room number Mr. B said I'm hungry lets order room service. The room was nice Mr. B liked to stay is some of the best places in town he said. We sat at a little round table and ate our breakfast when he looked up at me and said, I like your eyes, you have bedroom eyes, I smiled and thanked him thinking to myself, what are bedroom eyes? They must be nice because he likes them. Mr. B layed on the King sized bed and beckoned me with a hand motion to come join him. I laid there next to him as still as a rock, not knowing what to do when all of a sudden he rolled on top of me.

As we laid there he asked me a question, do you like me man? I said sure, but he said but what? I asked him what time it was and he said what time do you have to be home I said 10:00 o'clock, he said its ten now!!! As he began to grind up and down on me.

I wondered to myself what time does he need to be at church he has to preach this morning.
One thing led to another and before I knew it I was naked. he reached in his bag which he always has with him and brought out a small jar of Vaseline, I whispered what are you going to do with that? He said I'll show you if you trust me, do you trust me? I said yea, then relax.

He put the Vaseline on his member and slid it between my legs and started pounding, he told me to squeeze my legs tight so that he could feel it which I did, he pumped and pumped until he started sweating over me, then the force became harder and harder and until I felt something wet in between my legs. He said, damn that was good, you alright? until next time.

PART 3 (The Conclusion)

In the conclusion of this horrific story of how one of the "probably" worst child predators in the Church of God in Christ' history took full advantage of the trust and esteem that was placed upon him as Pastor, Counselor, Mentor and friend to a faithful congregation, an innocent family and a naive child. It truly makes me want to cry when I think of the fact that this man had a beautiful wife and children that had to be subjected to his debauched activities.

This story makes you wonder if this pastor stood in his pulpit Sunday after Sunday and preached that traditional religious rhetoric; skewing the interpretation of a few holy scriptures as divisive tools in order to demonize an entire misunderstood population of God's homosexual children in order to deflect the attention from his immoral lifestyle of pedophilia.

PART 3 (The Conclusion)

Winter slowly turned to spring and spring into summer. I quit working for Mr. B because I was getting older and wanted a real job that paid more than $14 dollars a week. Of course I still saw him from time to time but a lot less than I use to. I was now a young adult as they would say in church and I was beginning to smell my self as the older church ladies would say.

Mr. B still had a special place but I was starting to date girls and the two did not mix. The whole summer almost went by without me seeing him, besides in church and I would almost avoid him except for one Sunday morning. Mr. B asked my mom if I could have dinner with him and his family, of course my mother was thrilled that he had asked and said sure he would love that Rev.

He picked me up around 3:00pm and we drove and talked as we normally did he asked me how things were going and how I’d been, I told him things were great I have a girl friend now and we have been going out a few times a week. He seemed excited for me and we even talked about her a little while. As we drove up to his sprawling house I noticed there were no other cars in the drive way I thought for sure my mom told me that I would be having dinner with the whole family. He said come on in; I guess this is your first time here huh? I said yep and continued walking in. Mr. B opened the door and to my surprise the first floor was full of young boys, light ones, dark ones, big and tall and all of them were between the ages of 15 and 18. Some of them I knew from school. Mr. B said hello to his guest then he and I walked right pass them, it was at that moment that I realized I was not special and in fact I felt dirty for being part of so many.

We both walked around the house and down into the basement were he showed me all his suits and jewelry he had enough suits to wear one-a-day for an entire year. The diamond rings and chains were mind blowing! Where did he get all of this stuff? He slowly walked toward me and said “I’ve missed you man, give me a hug.” As he held me I felt his member pushing up against me and as much as I wanted to give in, I gently pushed back and said it was too many people in the house and I couldn’t do anything here. We must have stayed in the basement for at least an hour before coming up and I decided I wanted to go home. I said to my self that's it! I'm not doing-it with him any more he's nasty!!

Summer turned to fall and I was going to a new school, a brand new million dollar school that had open class-rooms, I never heard of that concept before but I was eager to see it. My first day in that school was something I will never forget, me and my best friend at the time Joe was trying to find our home room classes, we were wondering around this amazing school when I heard a familiar voice coming from behind one of the partitions, so I peeked around to see who it was ... Oh Hell No, its Mr. B!!!!!! I looked down at my schedule and he and another teacher was going to be my math teacher, all this time I did not know he was a teacher, I guess because I have never been in the ninth grade before. When me and Joe wondered into his class later in the day he acted as though he barely knew me, that was cool because I was so nervous to be close to him in public. Of course I got a good grade in his class, how could I not get a good grade, he watched me and Joe for an hour each day like we were lunch.

The Church of God in Christ has a conference once a year in different cities, when I was younger I use to love going because it was exciting to go to a different cities and explore what that city had to offer. I was growing up and no longer wanted to go with my parents; this year my mom said that we were going to New Orleans! Yea but you will be praising God the whole time; I won’t get to see any of the city I cried. “You know we always see a little of the city after church baby” my mom said, “besides the pastor and everyone is going,” “No, I'm not going!” I said even stronger this time. Nevertheless, our drive to New Orleans seemed to take forever, driving from PA was a long, long ride but when I looked up to see where we would be staying, it was worth it. The Hyatt Hotel was the best of the best back in the day and I could not believe we were staying there.

Mom and her sister took there shower and got dressed for church, mom allowed me to stay in the room provided I did not go anywhere until they got back. It seemed like 5 minuets after they left the phone rang, “do you know who this is?” I said “yes, of course what's up Rev!” he laughed and said “boy you are getting more mannish by the day, what are you doing?” I said “laying back watching TV until my mom comes back” he said “come to my room.” Little did I know he had already planned to stay close to where we were staying, I said “sure, what room are you in?” I thought to my self now is the time to tell his ass off for being so nasty, I had not forgotten about all of those boys that were at his house and God only knows what he was doing with them.

As I approached the door I became really nervous, thinking maybe now is not the time to go into all of that, I don't want to make him mad. He opened the door with nothing on but a red robe and said “good evening come on in.” Now the blood in my head is pounding I should not have come hear, I'm not strong enough! The robe came off; “Come here and give me a hug, it’s been so long.” Before I knew it, my clothes were off too and we began to touch one another I couldn't help myself, I like this what ever it is, I like it and I like him.... Mr. B said “I want to show you how to do something that will make a man out of you,” I said “OK what is it” “do you trust me” he said, “sure, what is it?” “I want to enter you,” “you want to do what?” “I want to enter you” as he looked into my eyes, I explained that “we tried that before and I did not like it, it hurt too bad; I can't do that.” “I'm going to make you like it today, man it's what two men do.” I thought to myself OK, I will try it again only for 5 minutes just like before and then I’ll tell him to stop. Mr. B relaxed me like a pro; then he began his assault on my body, when he was through I told him that I was leaving; he said “OK, I will see you tomorrow.” What I had done, was it good or bad? I thought to my self. At first I looked at it like this; he did just make a man out of me, then I thought about all the boys before me and I was ashamed that I had let him take something from me that I never even considered giving.

I didn't know the word “pedophile” back then, but he was one of the worst pedophiles I had ever known or heard of. I pushed this experience into the “sea of forgetfulness” until my dear friend Sam asked me to share a story. For some reason and I don't know why, this experience surfaced. I have never told this story to anyone, not even my lover of 20+ years.

I have no hatred toward Mr. B, God dealt with him a long, long time ago. You see Mr. B died a terrible death. First his wife left him and took the children, then he had a stroke which left him debilitated, then diabetes took one of his legs and finally he went into a coma, then he later died.

This prayer go's out to anyone who has ever been taken advantage of by someone else “may God give you the strength to toss that memory into the sea of forgetfulness” otherwise it will eat you alive.To my dear friend Sam; thanks for allowing me to share my story.

Bishop Long,

As my pastor I sincerely pray for your strength and your inner-peace during this most tumultuous time in your personal life and in your ministry. I know that you must be hurting and feel betrayed; yet you and I know that God Specializes in these particular types of circumstances; he will give you the peace that surpasses all understanding of this crisis.

If there is blameworthiness or virtue to be shared between you and your accusers; so be it for we all have sinned and have been falsely accused at various points in our lives. For it was only our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who walked this earth blameless. He was falsely accused many times over, on a much greater level and magnitude; he was even murdered, falsely accused.

I am a firm believer that goodness, truth and mercy will prevail and that your innocence or your culpability will raise the standard of responsible honesty and authenticity in the body of Christ (the church) and in your personal life.

Many readers of this posting will be surprised that I for the 1st time have publicly acknowledged you as my pastor in this forum; I have refrained from publicizing that fact since starting this forum in early 2007 due to the respect of our opposing viewpoints on innate sexuality and it's treatment in the holy scriptures.

Many of my close friends and associates have been troubled for quite some time of the fact that I have been a faithful member of New Birth for many years attending most early Sunday and weekday empowerment services. There is a reason.

Bishop, you have spoken so much truth and life into my heart over the years; you have taught me to study God's word for myself and to become spiritually independent relying on God and God alone; I've fallen in love with Jesus over and over again under your teaching.

Your giving nature and your compassionate desire to see your members and the African American Community at large excel spiritually and naturally overrides our opposing viewpoints on sexuality. Furthermore I would never abandon my natural parents (who are ministers) for our differences of opinions on sexuality no more than I would abandon my spiritual parents for those same differences. We all share unconditional love.

I've often said to my close friends that I sincerely feel that you have and could offer a positive and greater revelation on the subject matter of homosexuality in the church-world however, I've felt that you were too concerned and afraid of the masses and your traditional Christian Fundamentalist peers. I've also mentioned to my close friends that I share each blog post that I write for this blog site; I share them with you, your wife and other New Birth staffers via email and I hope and trust that my sharing has had a little something to do with the respect that you have been displaying in recent years to the many same gender loving members in your congregation.

I'll leave you with these words from a song that my father would ask my mother to sing before approaching the pulpit to preach:

Have you any river that seems uncrossable? Have you any mountain that you cannot tunnel through and have you any situation that seems impossible? I tell you that God Specializes and he can do what no other power can do.

The Holy Bible (King James Version) says in Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in ALL, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. It didn’t say homosexuals will be judged. Sin takes place when a heterosexual or a homosexual takes part in adultery, whoremongering, killing, stealing, lying, anger, idol worship, etc.

The demonization of homosexual & lesbian people has now become the bedrock of today’s Christian Fundamentalist organizations. Unfortunately the traditional African American church & the African American community that I love so very much has become the most common predator to those who have been marginalized and maligned in our society; all in the name of the God that I serve through Jesus Christ. That nagging pattern seems to always repeat itself; the victim becomes the predator in the worse way. Colonial Slavery & The Civil Rights Era was justified by “christians” who misused and abused scripture to uphold their passionate ideology (African slaves & African Americans were the victims then…)

Christian Fundamentalist and their passionate ideology that denounces innate same gender love & attraction has been abusing & misusing the bible outside of it’s scriptural context for many years to uphold their TRADITION: Leviticus 20:13 & 18:22 KJV seems to address bisexuality in the Mosaic/Levitcal Law although as Christians who are to believe and accept the New Covenant of Jesus Christ; they seem to cherry pick those 2 verses from among some of the what would be considered barbaric laws for today to demonize a misunderstood population of people in the name of Jesus Christ who has never spoken a mumbling word against homosexual people or same gender love as he proclaimed in Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself.
The story of Sodom & Gomorrah in the 19th chapter of Genesis KJV. The evil sin was attempted gang-rape on strangers; the deed was carried out in a similar story in the 19th Chapter of Judges yet Christian Fundamentalist refer to this story completely out of scriptural context to again condemn a misunderstood population of God’s children.
The ultimate demonization of homosexuality are picked from the verses of Romans 1st Chapter; which was an incident about a group of heterosexual people who turned their backs on God and abandoned their sexuality to worship idols gods of sex; so therefore God turned them over to their own lustful ways.
1st Corinthian 6:9 KJV has been defrauded by many other versions of the bible that has changed and added words to identify the "homosexual" who will not enter the kingdom of heaven when the word "effeminate" in Greek actually refers to male prostitutes.
The evil of those scriptural examples does not equal Christ likeness or same gender love. Comparing sexuality to alcoholism and other addictions is sheer ignorance. One chooses to sin not their sexuality.
The word homosexuality was first inserted in a version of a bible in the 1940s or 50s which is fairly recent history in order to uphold anti-homosexuality ideology.

I cannot and will not dispute or refute that the examples of marriage in the bible are between men and women however it is a fact that God and his word does not speak against, condemn or prohibit same gender marriage, monogamy or covenants. USA marriage is a state certificate or a license for governmental spousal benefits.

Religious traditionalist feels justified in their judgment of condemning homosexuality by quoting from false modern versions of the bible that has changed (inserted & removed) certain words in and from the King James Version of the bible to fit their prejudiced ideology of homosexual & lesbian condemnation.

Keep in mind that the opponents of anything pro-homosexual are very passionate about their ideology; they sincerely feel that it is God who has given them their right to oppose marriage equality and to define same gender love as sin. Within scriptural context, does God really give them that right to assign their personal prejudice and their anti-homosexual theology & ideology to him? I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Psalm 139:14

A Non-Gay Evangelist Speaks Out Loud And Clear!

Just when I was thoroughly convinced that most all of the old-school “saints of old” (that’s what we called the seasoned holy ghost- filled bible grounded men & women in the Church of God in Christ where I grew up) just as I thought that they were all stuck in a time capsule and were possessed by the traditions of men and had no illumination & no new revelation of the word of God when it comes to the truth about homosexuality… I ran across “The Testimony of Evelyn Schave.” As I read her testimony; my soul was touched and lifted because I was totally convinced that she was definitely from the old school of traditional holiness and as she said in her own words “I was raised in the old conservative, Pentecostal, "everything's a sin" movement.”

After I read her testimony I wanted & needed more. I sent her an email and we began to correspond, she sent me a copy of her wonderful book. A few weeks later Sister Evelyn Schave told me in an email that she and her husband would be in Atlanta for a 3 day revival service and I replied that I would make it my business to attend that Sunday Morning Service.

The Testimony Of Jesus - Our Lord

1. Eunuchs so born from their mother’s womb. These eunuchs, according to Jesus, were born that way. They did not make a personal choice to be eunuchs and they were not physically castrated by men. Some Christians believe these men were homosexual eunuchs.

2. Eunuchs made so by men via physical castration. These eunuchs were physically castrated and could not consummate marriage.

3. Eunuchs who made a personal choice to be eunuchs, by abstaining from marriage, for the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus distinguishes the third class of eunuchs, who made a choice to be eunuchs, from the first class, who did not make a choice to be eunuchs. According to Jesus, born eunuchs are exempt from the Adam and Eve style, heterosexual marriage paradigm. The common traditionalist tendency is to read into that exemption that all eunuchs must therefore be celibate, an assertion Jesus never makes.

From the religious side: This proposed law and the the blatant prejudice against homosexuality is driven by grave ignorance, misguided antiquated interpretations of the holy scripture in many cultures. Please really look at these scriptures historically correct. The New Testament scripture speaks to male prostitution in 1st Corinthians 6:9 and the rampant orgy & idol worship from a people who blatently abandoned & turned their backs on God in Romans 1st chapter; this does not define Same Gender Loving People.

Most anti-homosexual people really become firm in their stance against homosexuality based on Leviticus 20:13 "If a man ALSO lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. ALSO means in "addition too" That means to lie with both or bisexual; furthermore we as Christians no longer live under the Levitical Law of Moses which was for the Israelites before the coming of Jesus Christ and the New Testament (New Covenant). Most of our common and daily routines today would be considered abominations based on the Mosaic/Levitical Law.

But we’ve so much more work to do to battle the spread of HIV among African- Americans, and particularly among women. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that nearly half of the more than 1 million Americans living with HIV/AIDS are African- American and that 40 percent of the nearly 563,000 Americans with AIDS who died in 2007 were black.
Among all women in the United States living with HIV/AIDS, 64 percent are African-American. In fact, the rate of AIDS diagnosis for African-American women nationwide is 22 times the rate for white women.
This problem is more pronounced in places like Washington, D. C., where the prevalence of HIV and AIDS among African- American women rivals that of Nigeria.

Here is my Contention & Observation:

Some "religious people" claim that HIV/AIDS is a judgment from God against homosexuality.

Our African American culture as other cultures of color are very much entrenched in "religion" that demonizes homosexuality; even those who do not attend church services and those who possess very little biblical knowledge on the subject matter; their judgment against homosexuality is quite pronounced. I would say that the prejudice against homosexuality is at an epidemic level and it has a stronghold in our communities which fosters prejudiced, hypocritical "religious" closeted, self-loathing, homophobic character influences in our society.

Personally, I don't believe that HIV and AIDS is a judgment from God against homosexuality. If HIV/AIDS is a judgment against homosexuality; then why the harsh judgment on heterosexual women of color or poor nations? This epidemic should have been a wake-up call to the body of Christ (church folk) many years ago as a "shaking" to come out of their DAZE of organized judgment and rebuke for the "gay community". The body of Christ should have taken this "Titanic of HIV/AIDS" by the helm in a loving Christ-like manner by commandeering and infiltrating the "gay community", homosexual and "on the Down Low" individuals with the true love and Gospel of Jesus Christ which is non-discriminating, non- alienating, it is NOT anti-homosexual and it IS for everyone. It should be the body of Christ that proclaim that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by the all knowing and loving creator and that he did not make a mistake when he created you as homosexual or heterosexual. The body of Christ should be promoting self- acceptance, monogamy and marriage for homosexual people as well, which is the key to halting HIV/AIDS and other diseases. Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in ALL, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

It's unfortunate that most in the body of Christ (the church) has decided to amp up their microphones of anti-homosexual prejudice in the name of God calling homosexuality sin and an abomination based on their flawed interpretation of scripture taking the liberty to interpret scripture as anti-homosexual (sin) by rewriting the word of God with other versions of the bible other than the King James Version to fit their logic and ideology. When reading those scriptures in their proper context and in all their TRUTH; those 5 or 6 scriptures condemns bisexuality, male to male sexual rape abuse, orgy worship to idols, male prostitution and the male prostitute's patrons; those scripture do not address or define Same Gender Loving People. Homosexual people may be different from the status-quo however it is the church's responsibility to embrace homosexual people as heterosexual people and minister the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ; not the inflicting anti-homosexual religious tradition.

I really believe that this whole (HIV and AIDS) matter in the African American community is simply about throwing caution to the wind and choosing to have unprotected sex and NOT facing real truth and brutal honesty about one's sexuality which stems from the generational, traditional religious (homophobic) rhetoric that is preached in our places of worship that promotes homosexuality as sin and THAT perpetuates and forces people to forsake the all knowing & loving God to live in the closet and participate in much of the "Down Low" promiscuous sexual activity in our communities which causes and spread disease. Our beautiful women of color & the souls of many other men & women are the victims of this crime committed by stubborn religious traditionalist who demonizes one's innate sexual identity as an abomination.

It is my goal and my endowment from from the Lord to encourage all of his people to study, live and learn the life of Jesus Christ and steer away from the religious traditionalist who pervert the true Gospel of Jesus Christ with their own discriminating ideologies.

I am speaking from the perspective of an African American Man who truly loves the Lord and could have easily married and gone the traditional family route + into the ministry and perhaps comfortably lived a life on the "Down Low" in order to appear as a pillar in my church, family and community. It has taken me 40 years to become true to myself and embrace my God-given, innate authenticity; which is far more liberating and spiritually fulfilling than living a conflicted mangled mess of a life involving other innocent souls in order to please the expectations of family, friends and church people with a facade or a distinguished disguise which has nothing to do with pleasing God or loving yourself.

What if the same Christian principles were taught to Same Gender Loving couples in our traditional places of worship regarding relationships and marriage as they are given to heterosexual couples: Put God first and foremost, pray together, love and value yourself, love and value your mate. Harming one another mentally, physically and sexually is not tolerated nor accepted. If those same principles were preached instead of the judgment and the rebuke; one would feel loved by God and the community and not forsaken by God as the traditionalist preach. There would be less (Down Low) sexual promiscuity and more spiritual responsibility. There would be much less disease (STDs and HIV/AIDS) There would be more LOVE.

Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself

Galatians 5:14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself.

This is one of the most powerful and the most necessary of all passages in the bible that defines your spiritual walk with Christ other than truly believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Can you imagine what kind of world this would be if we all LOVED our neighbors as we LOVE ourselves in this Godly manner: God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. And because we belong to Christ Jesus, we have killed our selfish feelings and desires. God's Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit. But don't be conceited or make others jealous by claiming to be better than they are. (Galatians 5:22-26 CEV)
These are truly the qualities of a holy and moral person.

A dictionary definition of LOVE is a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.

Believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the commandment to LOVE one another supersedes all 66 books of the bible and it trumps the Mosaic/Levitical Law that was in place for the Israelites before the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Some very "religious people" refuse to accept that the "Law of Moses" served its purpose for those people in history. Some have boldly gone against scripture to preserve parts of the Law of Moses by distinguishing Ceremonial and Moral Law which has no scriptural basis in separating the two. The New Covenant is crystal clear that we are not under the rule of the Mosaic Law (Rom. 6:14; 7:1-14; Gal. 3:10-13, 24-25; 4:21; 5:1, 13; 2 Cor. 3:7-18). The instructions given by Jesus Christ from the words of life in the New Covenant (New Testament) are very sufficient for living a moral & holy life. Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself. This scriptures sums up all of the arguments and refuting concerning the Mosaic/Levitical Law.

The Christian Fundamentalist loves to discount this very crucial passage to it's lowest price and in most cases they refuse to include this scripture in their budget when it comes to their behavior in demonizing Homosexuality/Same Gender Loving People. Why is that? The content of this web site is loaded with scriptural proof and reasoning of that when you interpret the holy scriptures historically correct through the Spirit of Truth; homosexuality is not sin.

If you leave out the traditional disguise and coloration of blanketing the body of Christ (the church) with historic examples in the bible that speaks to male prostitution and the rampant orgy and idol worship for what occurred in that space in history by telling complete bible truths; then you will clearly see that Jesus Christ and the New Covenant does not condemn homosexuality; it condemns the ills of one's sexuality such as promiscuity and prostitution for females as well as males.

Old Time Religion Does Not Represent the True Legacy of Jesus Christ

The Fundamentalist Christian Religious Rhetoric that is often spewed so freely on the subject matter of homosexuality does NOT represent the true legacy of Jesus Christ. Demonizing people who were born homosexual has become a central rallying point for the Fundamentalist Christian Religious agenda.

The Fundamentalist Christian Community knows full well that
we are not living under the Mosaic/Levitical Law; we are living under the New Covenant of Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ who is the Son of God and who is the reason and the definition of Christianity does not condemn homosexuality. Even Apostle Paul does NOT define homosexuality as sin; 1st Corinthians 6:9 only condemns male prostitution and we simply don't know what arsenokoitai (abusers of themselves with mankind) means when you interpret those scriptures historically correct.
Romans 1st chapter was an indictment against a sect of people who whole-heartedly and purposefully turned their backs on God to worship idol Gods which has nothing to do with one's innate sexuality.

The Fundamentalist Christian Religious rhetoric on homosexuality does not represent the Jesus Christ of the bible or the Spirit of Truth; they are acting out as the very religious hypocritical Pharisees of the bible who opposed the ministry of Jesus Christ when he walked this earth. They clang to tradition and Old Time Religion, cherry picking from the Old Testament's Mosaic/Levitical Laws for the sake of religious tradition. I am encouraging you to look to Jesus Christ and to live as Jesus Christ (study his life) who is THE perfect example of the Real Christian.

Approximately 7 or 8 years ago when I was on a soul searching mission of my life; I ran across a book that revolutionized my world.

Did you know that there are countless scriptures through-out the bible that supports slavery? I stopped counting at 65.
Did you know that The Law of God known as the Mosaic Law supported slavery and the slaves were considered property?
Did you know that there are scriptures in the bible that gives instructions to the slave owners of how to treat their slaves?
Did you know that there are also scriptures in the bible instructing slaves of how to be obedient to their masters?
Did you also know that at the time of the Civil War that some people justified USA southern slavery by appealing to the bible? Did you know that those people considered themselves Traditional Christians?
Finally, did you know that some slaves would rather the security of enslavement?

Exodus 21:1 “Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them: 2 If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years; and in the seventh he shall go out free and pay nothing. 3 If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. 4 If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself. 5 But if the servant plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’ 6 then his master shall bring him to the judges. Colossians 3:11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
Deuteronomy 24:22 And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I command you to do this thing.
Deuteronomy 28:68 And the LORD will take you back to Egypt in ships, by the way of which I said to you, ‘You shall never see it again.’ And there you shall be offered for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”

When you hear the word slavery in today’s culture, you think about what you have learned from this country's reprehensible past concerning slavery; it brings about an uncomfortable feeling when you think of the hate and resistance generations after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Did you know that there are 6 scriptures in the bible that are used to condemn people that were born homosexual and that if you read those scriptures historically correct (looking up the Greek/Hebrew definitions) you will find that the crux of those 4 scriptures are condemning male prostitution and rape; and the other 2 scriptures are more of the Mosaic Law that was given at the same time when God's law recognized and supported slavery and a host of other laws that would not be tolerated in today’s society.

Galatians 3:10 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." 11Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith.” 12The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them." 13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." 14He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

There are many of you who know within your heart that you were born or may have later discovered that you are homosexual or lesbian; traditional religion has enslaved and bound you by defining the very essence of your homosexual origin as evil, unnatural and ungodly. Therefore you have taken on a slave-like mentality of succumbing to the fear and intimidation of this strong religious establishment that has controlled and enslaved millions of people for many centuries.
The same Traditional Religious Christian establishment that appealed to the bible to justify southern slavery in the USA is the source of today’s Traditional Religious Christian establishment that is enslaving a large sector of God's children that they simply care not to understand. This Religious Traditional Christian establishment has created their own doctrine postulating and pontificating on the prohibition of homosexuality in their religious institutions. These religious institutions are entrenched with homosexual, ex-homosexual, lesbian and ex-lesbian people that would rather the security of enslavement. Why would they rather the security of enslavement? They would rather enslavement due to fear and intimidation of the traditional religious doctrine, society and of their religious masters.

Many of the white founding fathers of this country started and served in anti-slavery societies such as William Livingston, Richard Basset, James Madison, Richard Stockton, James Monroe, Bushrod Washington, John Marshall & Zephaniah Swift and many more who some how concluded that it was cruel, in-humane and un-godly to treat other human beings as property although you can find support in the holy bible. http://www.wallbuilders.com/LIBissuesArticles.asp?id=120

The bible is the Good Book not to be used as a divisive tool to demonize and define a sector of God’s people as evil.

My conclusion is to encourage you to read and learn about the life of Jesus (in the New Testament) and to understand why God so loved this world that he sent his only son Jesus Christ to walk this earth, sacrifice his life on the cross at Calvary, resurrected him and ascended him to heaven to sit at his right hand side to intercede for us. Jesus Christ established the spirit of freedom away from the old law. Go back to the Old Testament and read about the laws that God gave to Moses (The Mosaic Law) for that period in history; you will be compelled to live by the standards and promises of Jesus Christ as a way of life.

St. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Why was I born this way? Do we have God's nature?

Why was I born this way? A question that I have always asked myself.
Here are some of the anwers that I have received from religious people:

You were not born with homosexual desires; homosexuality is an evil spirit or a generational curse that has a strong-hold over you. You must be delivered. Only the Holy Ghost will be able to set you free. Homosexuality is unnatural and and not a part of God's holy nature. You chose to be that way.
After many years of developing a strong and intimate relationship with God and sincerely, faithfully and profusely asking him to take away these "evil" desires and asking him to change my nature of having natural affection/attraction for the same gender; God has not yet answered my prayer.

There are some homosexual people who as children were molested or had strong homosexual influences from family members or close friends of their families; They are convinced that those horrible experiences are the reasons for their homosexuality as adults today; that truly was not my experience and I certainly did not choose to have these feelings; why would I?

I am still told that I have to resist that "homosexual spirit" and it will flee, don't give-in to it.
I have resisted fasted, prayed and cried out to God for my deliverance and it has not yet come even after having faith that one day it will go away.

Does God really care about the gender that I have affection and attraction for? Why has he not delivered me?
So you mean to tell me that the man or woman that has "natural affection/attraction" for the opposite sex is blessed? Are they blessed only to deal with the "natural" temptations of the flesh after being born in a world of sin? Am I doubly cursed? Cursed for not having natural affection/attraction towards the opposite sex and cursed for having natural affection/attraction for the same sex.

I have faked the funk (if you will) with the opposite sex in order to fit into this society just like many people do today; then I would think about truth and reality; John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Has God played a dirty trick on on homosexual people?
Does this scripture apply to me?
Psalm 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

My conclusion is that I stopped asking God to change my nature (evidently he knows what he is doing) and I started asking him to let his will be done in my life. It is not about my sexuality and who I may have or not have affection and attraction for...
The real question is, what are you doing with your life and your sexuality to uplift the one that you love? And what are you doing with your love and affection to uplift the most high God who created and loves you?

What does this photograph represent to you? Take a few moments and think about it.

Does this photo represent success and a strong family unit? Does it represent what you think the traditional American dream should consist of?

We are living in a culture where keeping up with the Jones' & the Trump families and being successful in the eyes of society is very crucial to our image and self worth. What about how you look in the eyes of God?

What if this guy was living a double life as a loving husband and father; at the same time surfed the internet and combed the alleys and city streets for male companionship and or for male prostitutes.
What if this guy's wife already had a sense of her husband's affection for the same gender before they were married and made a conscience decision to never talk about it. Please don't disturb our groove of vanity and crack the facade that everyone is enjoying.
What about their children?

Why would they live such complicated lives? Perhaps this is why:

I recently communicated with a pastor who insinuated that HIV and AIDS was a judgement from God against homosexuality. I lifted the following information from a website when I "Googled" HIV in the African American community:
As reported by the Center for Disease Control, the greatest factors affecting HIV/AIDS transmission in the African American community are male-to-male sexual contact in males and male to female contacts in females. Other risk factors and prevention barriers include substance abuse, denial about sexuality, and socioeconomic situations.

In 2003, the rate of new AIDS cases for black women was 20 times that of white women and five times greater than the infection rate for Latinas, according to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Black and Hispanic women accounted for 77 percent of all new AIDS infections in 1994. Nine years later, the rate was 85 percent, according to the agency.

In Washington D.C. black women represent 90 percent of women living with AIDS while making up only 62 percent of all women in the city, according to a report last year by the District's Health Department.

OK, let us just pretend for a few moments:
What if the Traditional Religious Community approved of homosexuality and same gender dating relationships and marriage. It's church leaders and their congregants accepted homosexuality and agreed that homosexuals and lesbians could be and are Christians without all of the preconceived, generational, misinterpreted scriptural rhetoric on this subject matter?

What if the same Christian principles were taught in regards to relationships and marriage as they instructed heterosexual couples: Put God first and foremost, pray together, love and value yourself, love and value your mate. I really feel that the religious community is obsessed and overly concerned about what 2 men or 2 women can do in bed. Here is an example (A very good friend of mine in Memphis shared how she went to Sunday School last week and as she entered the class the pastor was speaking and made a statement that he would rather see two women together sexually and that 2 men would be just disgusting) she said to herself "What the Hell!" If you are against homosexuality why would you not mind seeing 2 women together sexually?

I really believe that this whole ( HIV and AIDS) matter in the African American community is simply about throwing caution to the wind and choosing to have unprotected sex and NOT facing real truth and brutal honesty about one's sexuality which stems from the generational, traditional religious (homophobic) rhetoric that is preached in our places of worship that promotes homosexuality as sin and that perpetuates living a lie.

You can live a life of hell, bitterness and promiscuity as a heterosexual (straight) person or a homosexual person OR you can live a Christ centered life as a heterosexual or homosexual person. I sincerely strive to live my life as an ambassador for Jesus Christ. My daily walk is to bear the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith 23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law) among my friends, co-workers and family and they will all tell you that I'm not always successful, but I know where my help comes from.

Here is a little Food for Thought:

1 Samuel 18:1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
4And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.
1 Samuel 20:4 Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do it for thee.
17And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
41And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded
1 Samuel 23:17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.
2 Samuel 1:26 I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
OK :) Just read the entire book of 1st Samuel and the 1st Chapter in 2nd Samuel in the bible in order to fully understand the love that Jonathan and David had for each other.

Struggling Gay Clergy

Imagine this: Living a life pleasing to your parents and siblings; pleasing your pastor and church family and even your community. You marry a beautiful bride and start a family and you continue to live a life pleasing to your wife and kids; now your career is going in the right direction and you are now pleasing your co-workers and society.

Your pastor is so pleased with your life, he agrees to take you up on your strong ambition and desires to be a leader; he ordains and promote you as an official in the brotherhood of elders, ministers and pastors. You've made it! All of your family and loved ones rally around you as you are now officially considered a pillar in the community, known among many as "the salt of the earth".

Deep down in your heart you are wondering if you are really pleasing to God the Most High, you have never been able to shake that strong natural, mental and physical attraction for the same gender. At one time you were always petrified and unrested about your real reality. You were always edgy, irritated and nervous about the possibility of one of these dear family or church members or even the people in your community or your co-workers finding out about the real Authentic You. You still love the Lord in spite of that strong natural desire that has been with you since adolescence. God is love and love made you and he knows the very intent of your heart. God is concerned about TRUTH instead of the many facades of life that men create and enjoy.

Anytime you seek the approval of people who do not understand your reality and you allow their opinions of you to misrepresent your own life; self-hatred and self-destruction will set-in and your whole life of passive deception and not loving yourself will destroy you.

This preacher started corresponding with me a few months ago, he was evidently touched by what he has been reading on this blogsite. Sentiments and Confessions of the heart of a Preacher

What a joy to hear such a swift reply from you, Samuel. I have just finished reading a 27 page printout of your blogspot and found myself and my life story in each of the postings and experiences of others. As you may well know, I'm a 63-year old black man and I serve as Chief of Staff at one of these "traditional" COGIC churches. I guess I could share a lot but won't at the present time. I'm just glad you found me however you did. Because of my position, and yes, I got married and am living in a very precarious situation, i can't go public at this time, but it does uplift my spirit to know that there is a refuge and others bearing a "like" burden". I guess this is enough for now, but I would like to be put on your mailing list.

Samuel, what a joy to read the posts on your blog site and thanks for the speedy reply from you. I guess maybe I should send some of my life experiences-those of a 63year old black gay minister in the Grand ole COGIC. I'm sure you know I've had to sit through many such sermons. I sometimes want to just stand up and correct the stereotype thoughts regarding gay men. As you know, all gay men don't want to be women. And all gay men are not"swishy". Many look the "last" man, so to speak. I really get passionate about these issues and somehow I have remained silent, but not because I want to. Take care and pray for me. Thank God for this site.

Samuel, Sunday was a day I had to sit and endure one of those famous comments about Lesbian/Gay people. The Sunday School lesson was about Josiah's response to the the finding of the covenant by Shaphan and Hilkiah. The question was, Josiah rent his garments because of the sins of the people; what are some of the ways we, in today's society respond to national and personal sin? This woman got up with something real crazy about a lesbian woman on her job who she feels hates her be-cause she has probably put forth some comments about her being a Christian. She made this statement about how she's careful about helping her and how she interacts with the lady. I just wanted to jump up and tell her, the lady is a person and should be treated no less than. She went on this long dialog about gays, etc and you know the house was so full of "AMENs". Usually when I'm in those situations, I just want to get up and set the record straight, but I know that would be the beginning of MY crucifixion. But sometimes I really don't care. I'm 63, but you know what growing up in a blackPentecostal church (COGIC) can be like. What we have to suffer and go through. The woman is so silly, that if I went to her personally and tried to straighten out her way of thinking, it would have an adverse affect. So on goes HOMOPHOBIA. I guess that's enough.

The Rev. Dr. Mel White has been a Christian minister, author, and filmmaker all his adult life. Raised as an evangelical Christian, taught that homosexuality was a sin, he fought to overcome his own homosexual orientation for decades in all ways available to him: prayer, psychotherapy, exorcism, electric shock, marriage and family. That struggle and his halting, poignant steps to understand and accept his homosexuality, reconcile it with his Christian faith, and express his sexuality respectfully and responsibly, are described in his book "Stranger at the Gate: To Be Gay and Christian in America," published in 1994. “How can you consider yourself a Christian when you are also gay?”

Here are the 8 premises that he has laid out for you.

1. Most people have not carefully and prayerfully researched the Biblical texts used by some people to condemn God's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender children.

2. Historically, people's misinterpretation of the Bible has left a trail of suffering, bloodshed, and death.

3. We should be open to new truth from Scripture. Even heroes of the Christian faith have changed their minds about the meaning of various Biblical texts.

4. The Bible is a book about God. The Bible is not a book about human sexuality.

5. We miss what these passages say about God when we spend so much time debating what they say about sex.

6. The Biblical authors are silent about homosexual orientation as we know it today. They neither approve it nor condemn it.

7. The prophets, Jesus, and the Biblical authors say nothing about homosexual orientation as we understand it today. But, they are clear about this one thing. As we search for truth, we are to "Love one another."

8. Whatever some people believe the Bible seems to say about homosexuality, they must not use that belief to deny homosexuals their basic civil rights. To discriminate against sexual or gender minorities is unjust and un-American.
