Once upon a time, in the frosty kingdom of Greenland, there lived a princess named Sara. Unlike most princesses who were renowned for their grace, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to their duties, Princess Sara was known for her unparalleled laziness. She preferred the warmth of her plush, fur-lined bed to the icy winds outside her castle walls, and her days were spent in a perpetual state of leisure, lounging on soft pillows and sipping hot cocoa.

The kingdom of Greenland was a place of beauty, adorned with glistening snow-capped mountains, lush green valleys, and vibrant auroras that danced across the night sky. The people were hard-working and industrious, toiling in the frigid temperatures to maintain their homes and provide for their families. Yet, despite the bustling life outside, Princess Sara found more joy in napping than in attending royal obligations or engaging with her subjects.

Her father, King Magnus, was a kind-hearted ruler who adored his daughter. However, he worried about her future. “A princess must not only be beautiful but also wise and benevolent,” he often lamented to his advisors. “If she continues to sleep through her responsibilities, how will she ever lead our people?”

One day, the king decided that enough was enough. He summoned his court and devised a plan to encourage Princess Sara to become more engaged with her responsibilities. They decided to host a grand festival to celebrate the coming of spring, a time of renewal and joy. The festival would showcase the talents of the kingdom’s artisans, musicians, and performers. It was an event that demanded the princess’s involvement, and the king hoped it would ignite a spark of enthusiasm in her.

As news of the festival spread throughout the kingdom, the villagers began their preparations. They crafted colorful decorations, baked delicious treats, and practiced their performances. Yet, Princess Sara remained blissfully unaware, nestled in her bed, dreaming of fluffy clouds and endless fields of flowers.

On the eve of the festival, King Magnus approached his daughter’s chambers. He gently knocked on the door, and when there was no response, he opened it to find Sara sprawled out on her bed, a half-eaten chocolate croissant resting on her chest.

“Sara, my dear,” he said with a warm smile, “tomorrow is the festival! You must rise and partake in the festivities. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with the people of our kingdom.”

Sara cracked one eye open and groaned. “But, Father, why must I leave the comfort of my bed? The festival sounds exhausting. Can’t we simply celebrate in here?”

King Magnus chuckled softly, “You will miss out on the joy our people bring. They have worked hard to prepare for this day. You, as their princess, must lead by example.”

With a reluctant sigh, Sara rolled out of bed, her limbs heavy and her heart even heavier. “Fine, but only if I can wear my warmest slippers,” she mumbled, retreating to her wardrobe.

The following day, the sun rose over the kingdom, casting a golden hue on the snow. Princess Sara, clad in a beautiful gown paired with fluffy slippers, stepped out into the bustling courtyard. To her surprise, the air buzzed with excitement. Children laughed and played, artisans showcased their crafts, and musicians filled the air with enchanting melodies.

As she wandered through the festival, Sara found herself captivated by the vibrant colors and joyous spirit surrounding her. She admired the intricate tapestries woven by the villagers, tasted the freshly baked pastries that seemed to melt in her mouth, and listened to the captivating stories shared by the elders.

Slowly but surely, a flicker of curiosity ignited within her. She approached a group of children gathered around a storyteller, his voice weaving tales of bravery and adventure. As she listened, she felt a warmth spreading through her heart, an unfamiliar sensation that began to replace her usual apathy.

“Princess Sara!” one of the children exclaimed, noticing her presence. “Will you tell us a story too?”

Sara hesitated, her mind racing. “But I’ve never told a story before,” she replied, feeling a tinge of uncertainty.

“Please!” the children chimed in unison, their eyes wide with anticipation.

Taking a deep breath, Sara felt an unexpected surge of confidence. “Alright, gather ‘round!” she declared, her voice growing stronger. She began to weave a tale of a brave knight and a fierce dragon, drawing inspiration from the stories she had heard earlier. As she spoke, her imagination blossomed, and the children listened intently, captivated by her words.

The more she spoke, the more Sara realized she enjoyed sharing her creativity with others. The festival, which she had initially dreaded, transformed into a platform for her to connect with her people. Laughter filled the air, and for the first time, she felt a sense of purpose.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the festival, Princess Sara looked around at the smiling faces of her subjects. King Magnus watched from a distance, his heart swelling with pride. His daughter had discovered a joy she never knew existed—a joy found in the company of others.

From that day forward, Princess Sara transformed from the lazy princess into an active member of her kingdom. She embraced her role with vigor, participating in the affairs of the state and attending to the needs of her people. Each day became a new adventure, and her once-sedate life was filled with laughter, creativity, and purpose.

And so, in the kingdom of Greenland, Princess Sara became a beloved figure known not only for her beauty but also for her kindness and dedication to her people. The lazy princess had awakened, and a new era of joy and unity blossomed in the kingdom, proving that sometimes, all it takes is a little nudge to awaken the spirit within.

================================

Hey Chatgpt, I want to create a 3D animated kids Horror story. Can you give me some title ideas?

I 've chose the title "Whispers from the Dollhouse". Can you help me write an original and engaging script for the story? I plan to create a YouTube video based on this story, so please divide it into scenes. Also provide an image prompt, for each Scene. To ensure consistency in the character's profile throughout the story, please use the follow structure: "character name, age, gender, hairstyle, face description, outfit (top, bottom, footwear), background description and action. Give character a name and add each character's profile details.

🎬 [Video Title: “How to Make Kids Animated Movies with AI | ChatGPT, Leonardo AI, Kling, Premiere Pro”]

🎙️ [INTRO - Bright & Fun Background Music + Animated Logo]

Narrator (Voiceover):
Hey storytellers! ✨
Ever dreamed of making your own kids animated movie — filled with adorable characters, fun adventures, and a heartwarming message?

You don’t need a big team or fancy studio… Just ChatGPT, Leonardo AI, Kling AI, and Premiere Pro.

In this tutorial, I’ll guide you through the entire process — step by step — using free and powerful AI tools.

Let’s go from idea to animation — together! 🎬🌈

📖 [Step 1: Write Your Kids Story with ChatGPT]

Screen Recording: ChatGPT Interface open

Narrator:
Every great movie starts with a great story. And that’s where ChatGPT comes in.

Here’s a sample prompt to get you started:

📝 Prompt Example:
"Write a short 10-scene story for 4–7-year-old kids about a brave squirrel named Nibbles who teams up with a shy turtle to save their magical forest from a sudden drought. Make it adventurous, funny, and include a moral lesson."

💬 ChatGPT will give you:

A full storyline

Dialogue between characters

A scene-by-scene breakdown

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Ask ChatGPT to break down each scene like this:
"Give me scene 1: location, characters, dialogue, and actions."
This helps with visual planning later.

🦸‍♂️ [Step 2: Build Your Main Character in Leonardo AI]

Screen Recording: Leonardo.Ai UI — Text-to-Image Feature

Narrator:
Let’s meet your star: Nibbles the squirrel.

From the story we just made, ChatGPT describes Nibbles like this:

📝 Character Profile:

Name: Nibbles

Species: Squirrel

Traits: Brave, curious, energetic

Appearance: Fluffy red tail, big eyes, wears a tiny green cape

Personality: Always ready to help, loves acorns and adventure!

Now in Leonardo AI, we’re going to generate this character using a clear prompt.

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Use style keywords that match a child-friendly aesthetic like: "Cartoon, colorful, Pixar-style, 2D animation, cute, friendly."

🎨 Prompt Example for Leonardo:
"A cartoon-style brave red squirrel with a fluffy tail, big eyes, wearing a small green cape, standing in a magical forest. Pixar-style, kid-friendly, full body, bright colors."

✨ Once you generate a few good versions, choose the best one and save it — we’ll use this image to maintain consistency later.

🔁 [Maintaining Character Consistency in Leonardo AI]

Narrator:
Want your character to look the same across all scenes?

Use Leonardo’s image-to-image feature or fine-tuning.

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Upload your chosen image of Nibbles as a reference, and give prompts like:
"Same red squirrel in green cape, now running with a turtle in a desert scene, cartoon style."

This way, Nibbles looks consistent across every frame of your movie.

🎞️ [Step 3: Animate Your Scenes with Kling AI]

Screen Recording: Kling AI workspace showing animation generation

Narrator:
Now that you have your characters and backgrounds — let’s animate!

Upload your AI-generated scenes into Kling AI.
You can animate your still images by describing the action.

🎬 Prompt Example:
"Make the squirrel run happily across the forest, waving at a turtle."

Kling AI will apply motion to your scene, making it look like a real animation.

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Keep actions simple and clean for younger audiences. One scene = one clear motion.

Export your animated scenes in HD and save them in order.

🎤 [Step 4: Edit, Add Voice, and Music in Premiere Pro]

Screen Recording: Adobe Premiere Pro Timeline with clips

Narrator:
It’s showtime! Open Premiere Pro and import your animated clips.

Arrange scenes, add transitions, and line up your audio.

For voiceovers:

You can record your own

Or use AI voices (like ElevenLabs, TTSMaker, or Narakeet)

🎶 Add free kids’ music and sound effects from the YouTube Audio Library or Pixabay Sounds.

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Add subtle sound effects like birds, rustling leaves, and character giggles to bring life to the story.

We rise early to be at the airport in time for our flight to Skardu. If the weather is good, we'll be treated to one of the finest views available in the world of aviation, as we thread our way up the largest congregation of mountains of Karakoram, Hindukush, Himalaya and Indus River gorges, third longest in Asia and one of the deepest in the world. To our east is K2 (2nd highest in the world and Nanga Parbat (killer mountain) and countless peaks and glaciers. It is sometime possible to catch a glimpse of K2 in the distant before our dramatic landing at Skardu. On arrival we are met by our local staff with jeeps and make the short transfer to the hotel. SKARDU is the administrative capital of Baltistan and gateway to the high peaks of Northern Pakistan. We have some time to explore the town and enjoy the hustle and bustle in peak season of tourists here. Sightseeing in Skardu and surrounding areas during the day. For those seeking a good overview of Skardu, or a place from which to photograph the sunset, Kharfocho Fort is an ideal spot.If the flight is unable to operate because of bad weather, we will resort to travel by road on Karakoram Highway (KKH) to Chilas. The drive is compensated by the beautiful scenery along the Karakoram highway and Indus gorges. The journey on the Karakoram Highway is most exciting and thrilling. It is a monument to the engineering feast and one of the most spectacular roads and the world’s highest metalled border crossing. It connects Pakistan and China stretching over a distance of 1300km between Islamabad and Kashgar, winding through three mountain ranges and following the ancient Silk route along the Indus Valley to the Chinese border at Khunjerab Pass. We pass through the historical town of Taxila, beautiful hill station of Abbottabad, quake affected lush green towns of Mansehra, Shinkiari and finally meet the great Indus on Thakot Bridge. From there onward the road snails along the bank of the Indus with contrasting landscape after every two kilometers. We pass through Besham, Dassu, Komila and Shatial to arrive at Chilas with many rocks carving and inscriptions along the way left by Chinese pilgrims and ancient travelers of 5th century A.D. CHILAS was on the ancient caravan trail over the Babusar Pass into India. The drive through the Indus Gorge is guaranteed to knock your socks off! The view after crossing the Rai kot Bridge of Nanga Parbat is without any parallel. Standing at around 1,000 m. you see a mountain which rises to above 8,000 m!

Sedona is regularly described as one of America's most beautiful places. Nowhere else will you find a landscape as dramatically colorful. The towering red rocks and jagged sandstone buttes matched against an almost always blue sky have beckoned to professional and budding artists for years. And filmmakers have chosen these fiery rock formations in north-central Arizona as the backdrop for such box-office blowouts as "3:10 to Yuma," "Broken Arrow" and "Midnight Run."

But there's more to Sedona than Red Rocks and good looks. Over the past few decades, spiritualists have flocked to the region to take advantage of the numerous New Age "vortexes" with supposed spirit-balancing powers found here. Still searching for a way to satisfy your yen? Book an afternoon at one of Sedona's many spas. Traditional treatments with a local twist — such as red clay wraps and blue corn body scrubs — followed by a glass of local wine are great ways to relax after a long day spent on the trails. Oh yeah, did we mention that the area is home to more than 100 hiking trails? Don't forget to bring your boots!

How To Save Money in Sedona

Visit in winter
Sedona's cooler temperatures generally drive tourist traffic farther south to destinations like Phoenix or Tucson, leaving behind plenty of bargain-friendly room rates.

Beware of the New Age influence
Sedona is chock-full of crystal-toting psychics itching to predict your future for less-than-generous prices. You can center your own aura for much less if you stop in just for a free vortex map.

Enjoy the scenery
You don't have to pay anything to enjoy Sedona's main attraction, the Red Rocks. While some of the tours may seem tempting, you can avoid the hefty charges by opting for a free hike or a scenic drive instead.

For the best duct cleaning contact Toronto Air Duct

A trip to Kaghan Valley is incomplete without a visit to legendary Lake Saiful Maluk. The lake is named after prince Saif-ul-Maluk who fell in love here with a fairy from the mountains.

It is 9 km away from Naran. Situated at a height of 10,500 feet from sea level. Take a Jeep from Naran. It takes almost an hour from Naran to Saif-ul-Maluk. Do bargain with the Jeep driver. Also you can share Jeeps with other fellow travelers to cut the cost.

Lake is surrounded by impressive snow clad mountains and crowned by the summit / peak of the Malika Parbat (Queen of the Mountains). On a clear day its pointed peak is mirrored in the deep blue waters of the lake. Words can not describe the beauty of the scenery. The crystalline water of Saiful Maluk reflecting the surrounding snow covered mountains is an image that must be seen in person.

Naran valley is the most beautiful & picturesque valley. That's why it is called virtual paradise, unbelievably in pristine state and still unspoiled by the human. You'll find the Himalayan peaks hidden with clouds or snow, somewhere you'll find the beautiful fairy tale lakes, which will attract you toward them, and you might decide not to leave this at any cost. Where Kaghan is full of scenic beauty there it is full of thrill and excitement for the mountaineers and treks.

Naran Valley is a 155 kms long scenic wonderland. Lofty peaks crown the mountains ranges on either side like turrets, ranging in height from 12,000 to 17,000 ft and more, with the eastern range higher than the western. The bed of valley slopes up from 3,000 ft at Balakot, which, as it were, the gateway of the valley, to 12,000 ft at Gittdas beyond which the valley crosses at Babusar Pass 14,000 ft. The first ten miles or so are largely barren, but when the valley raises to about 5,000 ft forests of pine and fir appear, densely overgrown with a variety of plants, which has won for Kaghan the epithets of 'the botanists paradise'. The forests continue till about Naran 8,000 ft.

Road goes along the river Kunhar, meandering now to one side and now to the other. But keeping most to the bed of the valley and never too far above the bank of the stream except in the very first state.

The Naran Valley is accessible by road from Abbottabad. From Abbottabad, 72 km drive to Balakot, the gateway to Kaghan valley. Here you have to switch over to jeeps for your drive 100 km to Kaghan Valley.

0 Summer Weekend Getaways (Germany)

During the summer months, I will concentrate the Lists! features on potential weekend jaunts or excursions that are off-the-beaten path, with a great local flavor and/or that attract more locals as tourists. For June, I concentrate on Germany... In July, it will be other countries in Europe.

Well known cities like Cologne or Nuremberg need not apply, nor anyplace half-way connected to the Koenigschlosser. These are great places you are less likely to have heard of, but just as likely to enjoy for a day trip or weekend. Keeping this list to ten was not easy!!!

#10. Schwäbisch Hall

Schwäbisch Hall is a wonderful little town that those living in German have heard of but probably never had a chance to visit. Take this advice: Go there. It's a wonderful day trip to a beautiful town with loads of half-timber houses, pleasant parks, and summer concerts. It's easy to get to as well! (Autobahn 6, Exit 42)

#9. Thuringian Holiday (Weimar shown below)

The province of Thueringen is pretty easy to explore -- much of its attraction are in a row: Eisenach, with its famous Wartburg Castle, the fabolous capital of Erfurt, and Weimar, the site of the founding of Germany's first democratic republic (ok, so it didn't last). Weimar is highlighted here because Erfurt is already very popular among the Euro tourist crowd, while Weimar attracts more locals seeking to learn more about history.

#8. Hockenheim Race Track (on race day of course)

Yeah, I know, this isn't an exciting photo. But, if you are a race fan and you happen to be in the western part of Germany, you may want to hunt on-line and check out a race? Hockenheim hosts races frequently over the summer (including major Formula 1 events), and during that time this sleepy little hamlet of 5 thousand grows into a throng a quarter-million strong!!!

#7. Lübeck

Summertime is the ideal time to head north, and one of the most impressive cities up north is the red-brick island city of Lübeck not far from the Danish border. The site of the formation of the Hanseatic League, Lübeck has lots of history and rich architecture, plus plenty of summer activities!

#6. Dinkelsbühl

Been to Rothenburg already? Twice? Three times? Brought all your stateside family there, too? How about an alternative? About a 45-minute drive south is another of Germany's well-preserved medieval towns, Dinkelsbühl, except this one is better preserved and has far fewer tourists -- therefore less kitsch. Worth checking out.

#5. Schloss Wilhelmshoehe, Kassel

The northern Hessen city of Kassel is impressive in its own right, but the Schloss is the reason to go -- particularly in the afternoon when all the artificial waterfalls and cascades in the park are running. A guided "water tour" begins here at the Oktagon at the very top of Wilhelmshoehe in mid-afternoon with the opening of its magnificent cascades. Each half-hour the tour climbs down the hillside to another fabulous water show.

#4. Trier

Trier is a very popular spot on the Mosel River Valley. Loaded with well-preserved Roman architecture, Trier also sits at the southern end of the Germany's Mosel wine country. Follow a visit to downtown Trier with a drive up the Mosel through some of its fabulous wine villages and sample the local wares!

#3. Driving the Rhein River (Bingen am Rhein shown)

A wonderful Sunday drive is following the Rhein River in between its confluence with the Main River at Mainz to that of the Moselle River at Koblenz. In between is an eye-catching spectacle of steep banks of vineyards and castle after castle after castle. If you don't feel like driving, take a ferry ride. Or better yet, take a night ride during one of the famous Rhein Aflame events, complete with fireworks!

#2. Schwerin

One of my favorite places in Germany. The Schwerin Castle is just too pretty sitting on an island in a pristine lake, but the rest of the town has gotten a tremendous facelist. Another place to go out of the way for!

#1. Lake Constance (Lindau shown)

The key to enjoying Lake Constance (which can be overrun by tourists in some spots) is to venture around a bit -- preferrably by boat -- among some of the lake's greater sights. Lindau is my favorite, but Meersburg and Konstanz are places not to be missed. Although these towns can be busy in the summer, I never found them so overwhelmingly crowded that they can't be enjoyed (nor has parking seemed like an impossible task).

We feel strongly that traveling to faraway places promotes peace and understanding between disparate cultures, and ultimately helps creates a better world for us all.

Dubai Seaplane

The best-selling Dubai seaplane flight! Sprawling over the area of 65, 610 square kilometers, Sri Lanka with its tear-dropped shape is dominated by the astonishingly varied features of topography, making it one of the most scenic places in the world. Three zones can be divided by its distinguished elevation: the Central Highland, the plains, and the coastal belt.

At the core of the island is dominated by a high plateau in which several highest mountains of Sri Lanka are situated. Among them, the highest pinnacle is Pidurutalagala Mountain levitating at 2,524 meters of its height; Sri Lankan people consider this mountain as the sacred site of pilgrimage. The Adam's Peak lying to the west, at the southern end of the plateau is better known for its spectacular scenery and sacred pilgrimage site with its elevation of 2224 meters.

Then the land descends from the Central Highlands to a series of flat plains between 30 and 200 meters above sea level, dominating the east and the north of the island. Extensive erosion in this area has worn down and deposited the rich soil good for agriculture.

A coastal belt surrounds the island, consisting of scenic sandy beaches and lagoons. Best beaches line along the southern coast, southwestern coast and eastern coast. In the northeast and the southwest, the coasts cut across the stratification of crystalline rocks, cliffs, bays, and offshore islands, creating one of the world's best natural harbors at Trincomalee on the northeastern coast and a smaller rock harbor at Galle on the southwestern coast. In the northwest, Mannar Island which is joined with the mainland by a bridge is almost connected to the southern India by a long chain of sandbanks and islets called Adam's Bridge.

Rivers in Sri Lanka originates in the Central Highlands, near Adam's Peak and flow through the gorges, broad valley and plains and finally empty in the sea near Trincomalee, creating the different landscapes of escarpments, waterfalls and deep gorges. Most of the rivers are short and frequently interrupted by the discontinuities of terrain. The longest river of Sri Lanka is the Mahaweli Ganga River with it length of 335 kilometers. The upper reach of the river is wild and non-navigable while the lower reaches are prone to the seasonal flooding. The river is the most important water necessity for the irrigation system in the northeast region in which natural rainfalls are deficient.

The Romantic Getaway.

The Pros:
Staying at a fine hotel means you can expect full service and privacy. If you want to stay in bed all weekend, sipping Champagne and nibbling on chocolate-covered strawberries, room service should be able to accommodate.

Hotel Close-Up: Sofitel the Grand Amsterdam Hotel

Hotel Close-Up: Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, New Jersey

Hotel Close-Up: Encore Las Vegas

If you care to venture out for a meal, a hotel dining room is nearby. The concierge can arrange reservations, transportation, and tickets for you during the weekend. For privacy, just put out the "do not disturb" sign, and a weekend of romance is yours.

The Cons:
Good hotels can be pricey, but many that host business guests during the week offer romantic weekend getaway packages for couples. If you stay in a city hotel in a business district, some surrounding local establishments may be closed on Sundays.

RESORT Romantic Weekend Getaways

The Pros:
Spending a weekend at a resort means that you can choose from a variety of activities to participate in. Beach resorts often rent sailboats, canoes, kayaks, and other watersports equipment. Ski resorts put you close to a mountain. Larger resorts, depending on the location, may offer instruction in sports such as scuba diving, golf, tennis, and skiing. Resorts also tend to have more than one restaurant (plus room service) so you can savor meals in a variety of settings.

Resort Close-Up: Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas

Resort Close-Up: Marco Island Marriott Resort, Florida

Resort Close-Up: Royal Plantation, Jamaica

The Cons:
A resort can be costly, and little things — like parking and raiding the minibar — can add to the expense. Also, many large resorts cater to families, so there's a chance the squeals of children or the noise of them tearing down the hallway may intrude on a romantic weekend. In the event this occurs, don't put up with it. Ask management for another room, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

LODGE Romantic Weekend Getaways

The Pros:
Smaller than resorts but larger than inns, lodges are usually located in beautiful natural surroundings and offer a variety of outdoor activities.

Lodge Close-Up: Stowe Mountain Lodge, New York

Lodge Close-Up: Lodge at Turning Stone Resort, New York

Lodge Close-Up: Lodge at Woodloch, Pennsylvania

The Cons:
Lodges cater to families as well as couples. Food tends to be banquet, not gourmet, quality.

Jamaica Travel

ravel Alert: While the government-declared state of emergency in some parts of Kingston due to civil unrest has now been lifted, violent crime is still an issue so caution is advised when travelling. For further information see Safe Travel for updated government warnings and the BBC for the latest news updates.

Despite its location almost smack in the center of the Caribbean Sea, the island of Jamaica doesn’t blend in easily with the rest of the Caribbean archipelago. To be sure, it boasts the same addictive sun rays, sugary sands and pampered resort-life as most of the other islands, but it is also set apart historically and culturally.

Today’s visitors will appreciate their trip to Jamaica all the more if they embrace the island’s unique character and the inherent ‘African-ness’ of its population. Aside from its people, Jamaica has much to offer, the curious, thirsty or weary traveller. The Blue Mountains boasts the world’s best coffee, try a cup in the century-old factory at Mavis Bank. There are world-class reefs for diving including those at Runaway Bay and Ocho Rios and great stretches of palm-fringed sand at Treasure Beach or Frenchman’s Cove near Port Antonio. There are offbeat bush-medicine hiking tours, congenial fishing villages, pristine waterfalls, cosmopolitan cities, wetlands harboring endangered crocodiles and manatees, unforgettable sunsets – in short, enough variety to comprise many utterly distinct vacations.

Nowhere else in the Caribbean is the connection to Africa as keenly felt as it is in Jamaica. Kingston was the major nexus in the New World for the barbaric triangular trade that brought slaves from Africa and carried sugar and rum to Europe, and the Maroons (runaways who took to the hills of Cockpit Country and the Blue Mountains) safeguarded many of the African traditions – and introduced jerk seasoning to Jamaica’s singular cuisine. St Ann’s Bay’s Marcus Garvey founded the back-to-Africa movement of the 1910s and ’20s; Rastafarianism took up the call a decade later, and reggae furnished the beat in the 1960s and ’70s. Little wonder many Jamaicans claim a stronger affinity for Africa than for neighboring Caribbean islands.

This is a country infused with pride in its unique history, stunning landscape and influential culture. Later hula dances, chants, and songs moved from the temples into the secular world, their incantatory beauty entertaining and enlightening.

Accompanied only by voice or percussion instruments, male — and subsequently, female — hula dancers used their bodies to express the wondrous legends of the Hawaiian islands.

Every hula movement has a specific meaning. Different gestures symbolize flowers, animals, even conflict and war. With expressive hands and undulating hips, a hula dancer can evoke a palm frond in the breeze or the menace of a shark.

Traditional hula narratives tell a story. One recounts the islands’ emergence from the sea and the saga of goddess Pele, who restlessly searched each of the Hawaiian islands for a home until finally finding one within a Big Island volcano.

Westerners Encounter Hula in Hawaii
The first Westerners in Hawaii, Captain Cook and corps arrived in 1778. Expedition members noted a hula performed for them on Kauai — and it seemed the gentle art would continue to hold observers in its thrall.

It was not to be. Around 1820, missionaries sailed from New England to “save” Hawaii. Shocked and appalled by the dance they deemed "heathenish," these zealots dedicated themselves to eradicating the hula. Manipulating sympathizers among Christianized royalty, the missionaries succeeded in making the dance illegal.

Yet hula’s endurance was as tenacious as its rhythms. During this bleak period, which lasted more than fifty years, hula went underground. And far away from the Hawaiian islands’ missions, dancers continued to surreptitiously perform the sensual dances.

The Hula Ruler
If hula has a royal patron, it is King David Kalakaua (1874-91). Well-traveled and well-connected (President Grant entertained him in Washington), Kalakaua never forgot his Hawaii roots. Known as the Merrie Monarch for his love of song and dance, Kalakaua formed a palace hula troupe. His appreciation of the authentic art returned hula to its rightful place as a national treasure.

Kalakaua's support also helped hula evolve. Western forms of music were later integrated into some hulas. The steel guitar and the ukulele, a Portuguese import, were added to hula’s instrumental repertoire.Haula in Hawais

Marché Vernaison

Marché Vernaison

Fourteen markets, each with its own personality, come together at Les Puces. Marché Serpette gets props from dealers and designers for its exceptionally high-quality antiques—the best at the market. Marché Paul-Bert scores high on charm thanks to the beautiful interiors of its shops. But the oldest and largest is Marché Vernaison, where a maze of winding lanes leads to the goods. Discover nostalgic pieces of childhood at Tombées du Camion (“Fallen from the Truck”), where young antiques dealer Charles Mas fills bins to the brim with toys and carnival trinkets. His displays alone are worth the visit, although it’s hard to resist picking up a small piece to take home.

Marché Serpette

At Nini Peau d’Chien, check out miscellany such as apothecary jars, wooden toys and cast-metal Eiffel Towers. The floor plan and architecture are largely based on Eurodam, which came out exactly two years ago; these two built on the design of previous vessels Zuiderdam, Oosterdam, Westerdam, and Noordam. This means that every detail has been analyzed and reengineered to perfection. Enhancements on Nieuw Amsterdam (and Eurodam) include an additional deck located midship, Deck 11, home of Silk Den, a bar with amazing views, and Tamarind, an upscale Pan-Asian restaurant.

Nieuw Amsterdam also debuts a new and exclusive dining experience: the Master Chef’s Table at the Pinnacle Grill, which offers seven-course gourmet dinners served by the venue’s culinary expert, paired with the perfect wine selected by the chef sommelier. Exotic Versace china and fine linens, silverware, and glassware help make the meal even more memorable. Intimate, exclusive (the room is limited to 18 guests), and delicious, this unique culinary experience is well worth the charge of $89 per person.

Passengers can also discover the $3 million collection of artwork, both original and commissioned, that adorns the ship. To learn more, take the complimentary self-guided iPod tour available at reception.

Nieuw Amsterdam continues to expand on the rich tradition of Holland America Line in this premium cruising market, delivering excellence in design, every comfort of a modern vessel, and the attention of a stellar crew.
Behind Closed Doors

Since the introduction of Holland America Line’s Signature of Excellence program in 2003, every ship offers outstanding bedding. Amazing mattresses, high-grade cotton sheets, and oversized pillows will certainly enhance rest in any category of stateroom. Egyptian cotton towels and amenities by Elemis will undoubtedly satisfy the most discriminating passenger.

The new Spa Stateroom categories cater to cruisers seeking an at-home holistic spa experience. Amenities include an iPod docking station, organic cotton bathrobes and slippers, aromatherapy bath soaps, and invigorating showerheads. The list doesn’t stop there: specialty waters, fruit trays, yoga mats, a fitness DVD, and other details will transform your cruise into a wellness retreat where you can refresh and revitalize body and soul in the most peaceful and private environment.

Destination Dining

For most passengers, dining is a top priority. If you favor classic cruise ship dining for dinner, one level of the Manhattan dining room offers a traditional fixed seating time that promises the same excellent service from your waiter every night. The other level features an open-seating “As You Wish” dining option for which reservations are recommended, but not required.

Of course, you have the option of sampling other diverse dining venues as well. The Lido Restaurant offers a more casual open dining every night. Or make a reservation at Tamarind where, for a small extra cost, you can dine on Pan-Asian specialties including sushi.

A reservation at the Pinnacle Grill provides the chance to savor some of the finest in food and service offered at sea (at an additional cost). Your waiter will present a tray of sumptuous cuts of beef — rib eye, filet mignon, porterhouse — for you to choose from, and then the chef will sizzle it to perfection on the famous 1,600-degree grill. If you’re not a meat eater, then seafood options abound as well.

At night, a section of the Lido turns into Canaletto Italian restaurant. (Reservation required, but no extra charge.) Be sure to order the mille-feuille of Madagascar chocolate for dessert.

Meet You There

Holland America Line’s three-deck-high atriums are enhanced by the extravagance of their artwork. Nieuw Amsterdam shows off a masterpiece from Gilbert Lebigre. This evocative sculpture, “Manhattan Skyline,” is made of optical plexi-glass and weighs more than a ton. It rotates slowly, giving you the chance to appreciate the various angles; colorful LED lights enhance the effect.

On the lower level of the atrium, beside the reception and the shore excursion desks, you’ll find a comfortable sitting area and the perfect meeting point. The Atrium Bar, located just below the grand glass staircase, provides an interesting distraction while you enjoy a cocktail with friends.
Great Escapes

A very large section of Deck 9 forward is dedicated to the Greenhouse Spa and Salon. Just about every massage and spa treatment you can imagine is offered in its 11 private rooms. If you’d like to make amends for last night’s excess of good cheer, the extensive fitness center will welcome you to work it off.

Relax your sore muscles in the large hydrotherapy pool, which is like a super-large Jacuzzi with jets and water fountains in a beautiful and peaceful space. The thermal suite allows for a detoxifying escape. Treat yourself to steam or sauna; then relax on comfy ceramic heated chairs that face the ocean. If you time it right, you can watch the sunset from here and end the day perfectly relaxed and rejuvenated.
After Dark

The Showroom at Sea features Broadway-caliber entertainment with new shows every night put on by the ship’s fantastic cast of singers and dancers as well as talented special guest performers.

For more interactive entertainment, visit the Piano Bar, where the energetic and engaging “Piano Man” will have you singing along to jukebox favorites in no time. If midship is your territory, the Pinnacle Bar and the Ocean Bar are perfect locales to have a drink with friends (or make new ones). Those looking for a wilderness challenge will find it in the rugged wilderness of the Canadian Shield of Northern Ontario where there are few secondary roads and a sparse population.

Even though Southern Ontario (south of Algonquin Park) has a lot of farmland and urban sprawl there are plenty of trails within an hour's drive. Algonquin and Frontenac Parks are the best options for wilderness excursions.

Several long-distance trails in Southern Ontario such as the Bruce and Ganaraska trails offer multi-day hikes with the convenience of lodging at nearby towns. Many of them form part of the National Trail, a coast-to-coast hiking trail. Upon its completion, the Voyageur Trail, together with the Bruce Trail, will provide a 1,800-km footpath from Niagara to Thunder Bay, forming a major portion of the National Trail.

Travel Jamaica

Our blond hair didnt help make us feel more comfortable either, I'll tell you~we stuck out like more then we wanted, so, not feeling too positive or safe yet and it didnt help that our plane was ultra late for no reason, we were left in the situation to hit jamaica's traffic. Not kidding when I say that I was a little nervous of the unknown and the bus going to the resort was a ice cold air conditioned van thinking maybe it was to keep the driver awake or something brrr. I kept my head down when we came to a stop and not knowing what was around us on the way was not the night time adventure we were looking for. Well, the driver played Jamaican music and we did get us there eventually, a good thing and I would advise to drive in the daylight no doubt. The Whitehouse was so far because its on the corner of the island, you have to see the photo so go and check it out.

On the way back to the airport however; I will just mention that experience in advance since it was so amazing what we got to see and venture, people swimming in the oceans close to oneanother like family really neat. Fun exciting bright and colorful and a whole lot of fun and an hour and almost two hours faster then before and that was our transportation for you.

Heh, Sandals is just Sandals no matter how you look at it the resort has its class and no matter if something is out of order one day even a staff member well, Sandals always seems to have so much more to offer to create the happy and positive feeling its all about that and it was.

But heh heh at first I must share that we for the first time ever caught a cold on the plane from sitting in the back of the plane by the bathrooms and having the air on above us oh my gosh. My husband and I had this little joke that I am going to go to sleep and when I wake up this long line for the bathroom will still be here and the same people again for the 2nd round no kidding it was like that it. Once we arrived at the amazing Sandals Whitehouse Jamaica we headed right over to have a little drink at the empty but georgous pub. Bartender made us a new drink that was a mistake since it was so good my husband well he just didnt realize till the morning came how strong the drinks really were. We were a little not feeling well from having those drinks and you know the funny things happened like we went to the pool and if you have ever done that feeling like we did thinking, it will be okay we in Jamaica they say here that everything is going to be alright and the resort had just reopened the day before we got there from a new rennovation that had taken place.
