There has been a new worm that is targeting specifically jailbroken iPhones reported in Australia today. The worm is named after its creator Ikee.

The Ikee worm doesn’t seem to do anything harmful to the iPhone other than changing the wallpaper to the infamous Rick Astley just as an annoyance. While the worm is invasive and a nuisence I have to agree with the purpose it is driven by. It targets iPhones via SSH and spreads just like any worm would from iPhone to iPhone. RadioShack Announces That They Will Carry The iPhone!

RadioShack made the announcement that they will be carrying the iPhone by the end of this month.

“As part of its ongoing mobility strategy, RadioShack is pleased to announce that it will introduce Apple’s iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in a limited number of company-owned stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth and New York City metropolitan areas beginning later this month. GeoHot Released blacksn0w Yesterday!

Yesterday evening GeoHot announced he was releasing blacksn0w and RC3 of blackra1n. The new release of blacksn0w allows anyone using the 05.11.17 baseband will finally be able to unlock their iPhones for use with another provider.

The newest version of blackra1n changed quite a few things as well. It now includes the option to “hacktivate” your iPhone right off the bat so you don’t have to download blacksn0w on your own. The great GeoHot has declined a payment from an online hacking scam site to allow them the ability to redistribute his code for profit. There are many sites just like the one he heard from that try to repackage and redistribute generally free software when they had nothing to do with the creation of it.

GeoHot has just released a video on YouTube showing that his new project, blacksn0w, finally works! blacksn0w is set to be able to unlock the latest baseband.

He also states at the end of the video that the expected release date of the unlock is November 4, 2009.

Across the blogosphere, many people read that AT&T was rumored to have iPhone tethering available this year. Although this was said to never be an official statement from AT&T we all had high hopes.
