Like this little gem.</p> <p>I don't pretend to know anything about art, so I won't talk about that side of it, but this clip popped up on my feed yesterday and I only watched it because it was on <a href="http://brainpickings.net" title="Brainpickings" target="_blank">Brainpickings</a>, a blog I've always found interesting content on.</p> <p>Along with a great write up was an interview with Gerhard Richter, an artist who I'd heard of, but never followed. </p> <p>So there I was, watching this video, completely hooked on something I would otherwise probably never have watched, moved by it enough to post it, and inspired enough to start watching similar content at <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/tate" title="TateShots">TateShots</a>. </p> <p>That's the power of great content.</p> <p>More than that, it's the power of crafted content. </p> <p>More and more I'm finding myself drawn to content with weight. Picking clips, cutting together some kind of narrative, trying to do each piece of film justice. Add in the way the water is incorporated into the piece and it comes out looking pretty slick. </p> <p>I'm hoping this is just a cut down version of the final show. So the potential is there, it's going to be interesting to see how it looks out of <em>Double Secret Alpha</em> mode. What they are doing is contextualizing links all day. We don’t think that filtering for the best links is a product, though, we think it’s a feature. The value is created when you can get users to trust your platform for both consumption and publishing. The real breakthrough over the last year was Tumblr and Twitter, the way they created the read/write interface where you created and consumed in the same environment, in that dashboard-like flow."</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">I'm also checking out <a href="http://shuu.sh">Shuu.sh</a>, which is a prototype web based Twitter reader that ranks your followers based on the frequency of their tweets. The idea is to amplify the people that don't usually get heard, and scale back those who tweet a lot.</span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">On the surface it works and I like the idea, but it assumes that just because you tweet a lot you're not saying anything worthwhile.
