A spur of the moment birthday trip for our friend Kim (left of bottom picture) ended us up in New York City right in the heart of Time Square! :) This was my first visit to New York and I fell in love with the city! I can promise this won't be the last time I go back (and who knows maybe it will be a little more permanent next time?) but until next time New York I'll be thinking of you!

I seriously can not get enough of Hawaii and having two of my best friends there made it all the better! Sometimes I wonder why I never moved there, even for a little bit? It's sunny and relaxing and I Love It! Maybe I'll have to go there for a semester or two in college? :)

Highlights: spending time with my family, playing with britt and kim, corrupting kaitlyn with our snap chats late at night. kayaking, hiking barefoot to maunawilli falls and up lanikai, going to the farmers market for dinner, sitting on the curb at the farmers market playing "pass or keep" with my brother and sister, talking with my mom, reading on the beach, spontaneous late night runs, climbing our mango tree, and riding my beach cruiser!

-This weekend I went on a motorcycle ride with this kid :)

I'm super afraid of motorcycles, but I actually enjoyed it... if we didn't go fast or turn too much haha!

-Watched a lot of this!

-And because it was priesthood meeting we decided to turn it into a girls night with Pei Wei, me face planting it in front of restaurant windows for all who were inside to see... nothing out of the ordinary for me (those are the times I wish my life was being constantly filmed!), and frozen yogurt from Uswirl!

week number four of march trips

Highlights: eating homemade ice cream at the red barn, caffeine/sugar stops, swimming in the freezing pool and quail lake. listening to music with the top down, hiking the mini narrows, eating mexican food at the "hottest spot in town", spontaneously going to vegas for 3 hours, riding the new york new york roller coaster, driving really fast..., and meeting Abe, a.k.a werewolf from breaking dawn :)

Week number three of march trips

Highlights: Lynny and I videoed the whole trip... but the video's are too embarrassing to put up here, we brought a nome everywhere we went to take pictures with, buying our first lotto ticket and not knowing how to use it (hahaha such Utahns), fake laughing at our tour guides ridiculous comments, sleeping in a sorority house, barely being able to stay awake on the ride home, touring university of missoula campus, and most of all deciding I wasn't going to go to school there!

week number two from march trips

I love camping with these guys more than anyone else by far, the fact that we don't do the "touristy hikes", there are constantly quotes from great movies being thrown around, and of course because these boys really know how to make me laugh :)

Highlights: we hiked undercover canyon and elephant butte, slept under the stars, tried not to get radioactive poisoning from the mines, threw rocks at an abandoned school bus, repelled, ate peanut m&m's and peach rings, petted cars, and got to watch chandler trip and fall down a sand dune!

Highlights: during this trip we discovered the lunch hole, I made grilled cheese sandwiches with mustard and tomato... (you would think it was gross but I liked it :) ), late night ice cream and tootsie rolls, and we found some great clothes at the d.i.

p.s. the St. George D.I. is one of the best D.I.'s because of all the old people that live down there that donate their clothes!

can't sleep

You know when you can't sleep because you keep replaying events from the day trying to decide how they could have gone or what you would have done different. Welcome to what is happening to me at this exact moment. I don't know how it is with other people but I know when I have too much going on in my head the best way to get rid of it is by shutting my door, turning on my Ipod, and taking a paint brush or pen to paper. I'm not an artist by any means but it helps. And I know I said paper but lets be honest more than half of the time my paint brush ends up on my walls :)

don't ask me why I am about to put up this next picture... even though I'm fully aware that it is thoroughly creepy... I kind of like it :)

I guess i've never talked about the fact that this last November I went to India to teach english... I don't talk about it much because it was such a life changing experience and it's hard to try and explain the experiences and memories made over there (that's why it is so amazing when I get to hang out with my YMAD group (operation Jyoti) because they just understand). But any way I finally got around to developing some of the film I took over there and wanted to share this picture.

I held a crepe night with my old YMAD group! I've missed them so much and what better way to spend time with missed friends than over a plate of homemade crepes?

Then I went down town with all but one of my best friends (brit is in sunny Hawaii) to our favorite cafe Carlucci's Bakery, never been? Well it's a must if you come visit Utah.

(we get their mouth watering famous fruit tarts every time!)

Finally to wrap it all up, I went night snow shoeing with these guys :)

I know I'm behind from the weekend but today was so great I wanted to hurry and share so everyone could enjoy to! Today was one of those days where my head popped off the pillow and I already had a smile on my face! Yummy breakfast, made it on time to class, got ALL my homework done before 3 in the afternoon, took an hour before work to go outside (its 60 degrees today... in Utah?) and read the new book I got from the library, went on a 7 mile run with one of my best friends from california (and the run was amazing!!!), came home had a delicious organic dinner, and now I get to climb into bed and sleep in because tomorrow is late start! Not only was this a relaxing-ly productive day but I found something to laugh about all the while. I hope your week can be just as great!

Even though we haven't had enough for my liking this year that doesn't stop me from going out and playing in the snow! The earth club officers (plus lauren and becka) decided it was well over due to strap on our snow shoes and head up into the mountains for a winter hike, oh and a game of snow base-ball! :)

how to play snow base-ball:

snow-ball is basically baseball but played with snow. You need 3 bases, instead of a ball you use snow, and a ski pole instead of a bat, and if you're hit with a snow ball your out!

The only difference really is the fact that everyone has snow so getting out is a lot easier...

the rule is if two people are hit only one person can get out each batting, the first person to get hit

with a snow ball is out!

Mom and Me Time!

My mom flew in all the way from Oahu last weekend for some much needed mother daughter time! After celebrating a birthday, visiting with cousins, and going to see this movie we headed up to Park City and stayed at The Old Town Guest House bed & breakfast. Which is now our favorite bed & breakfast ever! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious homemade food, cozy rooms, and great people. It's also only a short 5 minute walk from Park City's Main St. restaurants and shops. Three whole days of shopping, eating, catching up, and lots of laughing! This weekend was much needed, greatly appreciated, and thoroughly enjoyed!

Thanks to my personal trainer Heidi Ormsby, I now have a new favorite dinner!

We were working out and of coarse talking about food...(not a big surprise knowing me). Any way

I brought up the fact that I was getting sick of the same old veggies and nuts that go along with this detox I'm on. She told me to try making spaghetti but sub the noodles with organic veggies. Being a huge fan of carbs, pasta being in my top 3 (next to pizza and bread) I thought it would be yet another dinner ending up in my dogs dish. I was very happy to be wrong, the veggies and sauce were so good!

When you step on something while babysitting and realize its baby poop,

When the little ones reek havoc while your baby sitting,

When you try to make a new recipe and it ends up in the dogs dish,

When you want some company but the only one living with you is up in there room arguing over the phone.

You could say it's not the best day...

so heres to sleep and tomorrow because they couldn't come quicker

-also I have to give a big thanks to my mom because without her I don't really know where my sanity would be. She always knows what to say and lets me vent to her till both our ears hurt

With my ipod on the verge of dying any day now, and no money to replace it the thought of losing all those years of accumulated music! And the lack of an iphone in this "apple world" we live in makes the group text my friends and I have going a little difficult. I know I'm still young, but I'm going to pull an older person move and say,

remember when...

- instead of ipods we had walk-mens

- instead of cell phones we ran over and knocked on peoples doors

- instead of GPS we had a co-pilot holding out a map
