PS4 version of Gran Turismo 6? 'We do have plans for PS4,' confirms Yamauchi

The biggest PlayStation news of this last week was the announcement of Gran Turismo 6 for PlayStation 3. The reveal seemed weird to some--why would GT6 launch on PS3 with PlayStation 4 right around the corner? Any confusion was cleared up when SCEE CEO Jim Ryan revealed that Gran Turismo 5 had to date sold 10 million units on PS3.
Still, it seems that a PS4 version of Gran Turismo 6 is pretty likely after all. Earlier this week, we reported that Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi told IGN that his studio had a PS4 version of GT6 "in mind." In an interview with GTPlanet, Yamauchi elaborated, indicating that a planned PS4 version may be more concrete than simply "in mind."

Last week, I had the chance to sit down with Insomniac founder and CEO Ted Price and ask him some questions about his studio's upcoming game, Fuse.
Why the name change from Overstrike to Fuse?
Well, as you probably saw in the cinematics of the levels you played, the game revolves around Fuse. It’s this alien substance and after we had been through the first part of the project, we realized that Fuse was at the heart of the game, in terms of both the story and the gameplay, as we started integrating Fuse into the weapons. It made a lot more sense to focus on that. Overstrike is the name of the team you play, but we don’t really delve into the background of the Overstrike organiz...

In the gaming world, there is a lot of talk from gamers about game studios being “overrated.” Fans and haters of different critically acclaimed studios battle it out on forums all across the internet in a never-ending flame war over which studio is overrated or why another studio isn't.
What about the other guys, though--the game developers that bring us great titles but don't necessarily get the appreciation or attention they deserve? There are some that bring up how underrated a developer may be, but for every one of those, there are thousands of gamers saying a developer is overrated. Well, in these “Underrated" articles, we are going to take the time to name developers...

GameStop has shelved pre-orders for Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Patriots, igniting rumors that the game has been cancelled.

This doesn’t appear to be an error either, as IGN, citing a source “with intimate knowledge of the retailer” says that GameStop “actively flicked a switch” to remove the page.

Furthermore, IGN notes that it is “exceedingly rare” for the retailer to remove a game’s listing from its website, after having previously featured as a cover story on Game Informer.

Ubisoft originally announced Patriots back in 2011, where it revealed plans to launch the game at some point this year. We haven’t seen a great deal on ...

Domains for The Last of Us 2 and 3 have been registered by Sony (via Superannuation), indicating the company may have more in store for the post-apocalyptic adventure.

This isn’t outright confirmation on future sequels though, as companies frequently register URLs pertaining to big-name franchises in order to protect the IP.

Naughty Dog had previously suggested that a sequel wasn’t on the cards during a chat with GameInformer. Here, the studio revealed its disdain for games that end on a cliffhanger, and that they had no plans for The Last of Us to end in such a manner.

From our latest hands-on with Naughty Dog’s hotly anticipated The Last of Us, it is abundantly clear that the Uncharted developer has successfully created a gripping action-adventure that is wholly distinct from the treasure-hunting, baddie-capping antics of Nathan Drake. And thank god for that, because The Last of Us is, by a country mile, shaping up to be one of the most compelling games you’ll play this year, let alone on Sony’s aging PlayStation 3.

Our latest hands-on with the game was separated into two distinct chunks: Lincoln and Pittsburgh. Fortunately, it’s clear this wasn’t an arbitrary choice on Naughty Dog’s part, as each ‘level’...

Star Wars is one of the most expansive and revered science fiction universes ever created. So how has this amazing series fared in the video game industry? In all honesty, not so great. The history of Star Wars video games is a mixed bag of greatness and not-so-greatness. We've had the fortune of playing great Star Wars titles like X-Wing, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, and Empire at War. Unfortunately, for each great game that came out, there was another that was disappointing.
Below is a list of five things that developers need to avoid to prevent disappointing games like Rebel Assault, Masters of Teräs Käsi, and The Force Unleashed from making a return in the next generation.

The last official word we heard of Agent was at E3 2011, when SCEA CEO Jack Tretton said he wasn't sure if the game was still a PS3 exclusive. In the months and years since, the game has dropped completely off the map, being left out of everything from gaming conventions to Take-Two earnings calls.
But now, we have seeming confirmation that the game still exists and is currently in development alongside Grand Theft Auto V. Jon Young, Research Video Editor at Rockstar Games, had the following to sa...

"From the very beginning, Fuse was about a team of agents infiltrating enemy strongholds in pursuit of this alien substance. It's a super-short trailer, so there's not much to glean besides reflection of the game's Christmas setting, confirmation of at least one baddie, and the announcement of a worldwide release date: October 25, 2013.
No word yet if the same release date will apply to Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, the PS Vita Metroidvania spin-off.

As no supplementary information is given, our only clues about the game and its content comes via the trailer. And what a spectacular trailer it is (for industrial anime fans, at least). We see a malevolent security force attempt to apprehend what look like two of eight main characters. Contradictory images show a world torn asunder--a flooded landscape with spires and steel girders--followed by a bustling modern-day city, suggesting two very different settings or an alternate reality of some kind.
