These gentle giants come by the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula to feed on plankton only 3-4 months out of the year.

Whale sharks belong to the largest living fish species and can measure up to 12 meters (41 ft.) in length. They are filter feeders with very large mouths of up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) wide but feed mainly on planktons and microscopic plants and animals.
