PLEASURE ON TOP

Travel Update - Fête du Printemps 2012 @JPS

During my short stay in Lyon I had also the pleasure and the honor to attend the really cool Spring Party at the senior high school "Jean Paul Sartre" in Bron.

It was pretty similar to an italian carnival day: everybody, teachers included, were

disguised as movie characters, animals,

people from other countries or from past ages...

It was kind of impressive to see how much "serious" is this event for most of them and

how much time and passion they invested to choose the perfect costume to wear...

Things like that are quite impossible to do here in our schools:

most of the guys here maybe are too much embarassed to wear fancy clothes

and afraid to be fooled by the others, not to mention the school teachers which are too serious and also too old to play with the students for a day...

What a pity! :(

Anyway, the party was quite unusual for me but super cool, funny and amusing indeed!

A lot of students also performed with their own bands some cover songs

in the afternoon (soon a post exclusively about that) and let me just say that they were totally AMAZING!

It's not that easy to involve and to draw the attention

of hundreds of young masked students!

Bravo!

Hey guys! What's up!? It's been so long since the last post,
I know but I was a little bit busy during this passed month...
but now I'm back with a new (non-fashion) post to share with you:
my trip to LYON!
I've been there for about a week to visit the city, of course, but also to try to meet some french friends I've met during the meeting in Romania
for the European Comenius Project last fall (Remember? CLICK HERE).
It's one of the biggest and most important city of the country, famous also for being considered the gourmet capital of France
(and yes, the restaurants are really over the top here! I can confirm!) .
Unfortunately the weather wasn't really good but going around was pretty easy anyway thanks to the bike sharing and the public transportation services
which were well functioning (except during the holidays).
Always about transportations,
it was also really cool to see that in Lyon, unlike in Milan, you can go almost everywhere, even in some quite near suburbs like Bron and Chassieu with the same bus ticket, without any extra charge to pay :D
Even if it's a really big city the atmosphere in it was really peaceful and quite...
People seemed to be really much more relaxed and less stressed than people from Milan who runs fast with serious faces almost all the day, everyday...

Enjoy the pictures :D

Tanya Dziahileva after Giorgio Armani show

Milan Women's Fashion week is already over and these are my few last pictures from

DSquared backsatge and outside Armani before and after show.

At Roberto Cavalli my camera passed away (how lucky I am -.-") and therefore...

I sadly missed all the amazing top models such as the gorgeus Naomi Campbell

who fiercely closed the show like a black panther.

Enjoy the picture :D

Simone Nobili and Ilaria Ginevra de Munari after Dolce&Gabbana show

The fifth day started very early for me, with Marni show in via Alserio 22,

near Garibaldi Railway Station.

I never been there before and I could say that it's really a good place where to take photos also thank to a really cool yellow wall at the entrance of the building.

Marni set 2 shows like Gucci (for press and for buyers) and

after 3 hours of streetstyle pictures I came back home to change outfit have lunch and get ready before Dolce&Gabbana's show at Metropol in viale Piave where

my friend Ilaria Ginevra was waiting for me with her new pet bag "Marlon".

The weather in the afternoon became cooler and windy and

everybody started to feel cold without their overgarments.

At the end of the show we all run to Missoni at the University of Milan in the city centre

and then to Frankie Morello near Corso Como and Ferragamo at Piazza Affari.

It was really a long and rough day but totally worth it.

We could definitely say that February is the new May!

The wheater was sunny and very warm (about 20°C!!!) and today

everybody left their furs and winter coats at home:

bare legs, sleeve less, short dresses and light jackets outside Jil Sanders show!

Spring is coming!

Cara Delevigne at Ermanno Scervino Backstage

Yesterday I had the pleasure and the luck to meet a new amazing and super nice friend
Ilaria Ginevra (click here)
who kindly let me in with her to Ermanno Scervino's backstage and show.
Before that, in the morning I went out Fendi's show for some streetstyle but

it was really overcrowded and the space was very narrow to shoot good pictures:
everybody was running and cars were everywhere.
I did only these two yesterday but it was really tiring;
I came back home exhausted as hell and after a sandwich I went immediately to sleep.
Today I decided to skip show and have a day of rest for tomorrow's shows.

Enjoy the pictures and have a nice day :D

Milano Women's Fashion week is officially started!
So nice to meet again all my friends bloggers and fashion Insiders :D

Yesterday I did some streetstyle pictures outside Gucci show for more than 2 hours

(it's insane, I know but Gucci made 2 shows: one for press and one for buyers)

Together with the Big fashion editors and journalists, tons of international bloggers like Bryanboy and Betty Autier were invited to attend the shows.

The weather was unexpectedly good, sunny and warm

(Bryanboy was wearing shorts with bare legs o.O)

and people that were wearing fur coats were definitely inappropriate but....

Whatever , it's fashion week! xD

S**t Girls Say to Dolce&Gabbana Male Models

As my friend Nancy -from Lifeinapic's Blog (check it out it's amazing!)- says:

"Models are like the new Rockstars!"

But we are not talking about talent or somenthing concerning their qualities or skills

but regarding the amount of crazy fans they have all over the world!

I mean, they're "just" good-looking people not Greek divinities or aliens!
They do the same things as we do (except flying and partying all over the world xD) and there is no reason to stalk them like groupies during fashion weeks, out of the shows and start screaming and crying -I swear!- like crazy chickens about to die

only for a picture or a short chat with them

-and the video shows you what kind of "smart" questions they ask-

just to make their friends on Facebook jealous.
This is really insane and a little bit shameful to me...
WHATEVER, it's Models-Fever!!

and also a great fashion blogger in the spare time

Gucci bag at Gucci fashion show

As you can deduce from the first picture above, Today I started with streetstyle pictures

outside Gucci show at Hotel Diana Sheraton in Porta Venezia.

Piazza Oberdan is definitely the best place to shoot, not only for the super fashionable people

but also because of the big space and the right light in the midday.

After Gucci I had a fast lunch with Andrea and then we went to ZZegna

where I happily met Filippo who kindly gave me his invite for Gazzarini's show (THANKS PHIL!)

which started right after Canali.

Gazzarini show was nothing special or innovative except for some pieces with flashy/fluo colors. Anyway, I really liked the white short booties and the high waisted trousers

Enjoy!

Sean O'Pry @Bottega Veneta

Today, the day started with Bottega Veneta's show placed really far from where I live

but despite all I made it...

The weather was freezing cold (worse than yesterday I think) and taking pictures
was quite hard also because I stupidly left my wool gloves at home.

After that I got a cab to run to Emporio Armani
where I knew Samantha, a nice fur designer, and Patrick, a really tall English guy studying here in Milan.

Then, we went all together to Scervino, Juliano Fujiwara and Fendi presentations and at the end to Vivienne Westwood where my camera decided to leave me alone (low bat) just when

all the models were getting out from the backstage. Damn it!
For that, I had to back home to charge the camera battery
instead of going to Missoni and Prada's shows.

On the one hand I'm a little bit sad for this unlucky episode but on the other hand I'm really happy to have met nice people and made new friends.

Here you are the pictures!

Gorgeous Bianca Balti in Dolce&Gabbana dress

Milan Men's fashion week FW 12/13 is officially started and today I decided to go outside Dolce&Gabbana show at Metropol in viale Piave...

to shoot, for the first time, streetstyle looks and models off duty.

The weather was good at first when I arrived but around 4pm it started to get cooler;
my feets and hands were starting to freeze and for this sad reason
I preffered to back home instead of going to Burberry's show in corso Venezia :(.

Hope to do better the next days!

Exchanging Roles

2012-01-09T10:30:00.000+01:00

Me wearing a military coat and a faux fur hat

After girls photo session we decided to exchange roles:

I became the "super" male model and they were my amazing photographers!

I'm not very into modeling and posing actually but I tried my best to look good...

So...here you are the results!

What do you think? How do you feel about them? Do you like them?

In my opinion we did a great job!

I really didn't expect that they, Olga and Federica, can take very nice pictures like these ones!

I'm so happy and proud of us!

Before preparing everything for the big dinner, Olga and Federica asked me to take some pictures

while they were choosing which dress to wear for the New Year's Eve Party in the evening.

They posed with their own dresses first but then they decided to exchange

to see how they look with a different style...

What do you think? They're both amazing, aren't they?

New Year's Eve

2012-01-04T01:52:00.001+01:00

All together

As I already told you in the last post, this time I celebrated the New Year

at Antonio's house near Bergamo with friends...

We were in 12 and cooking the big dinner for all us was really an hard work:
can you believe that we started preparing stuff after lunch?! Gosh, this is madness!
I never did something like this before :S!

The menù was sophisticated (al least for me that I never cooked in my whole life)
but simple at the same time...

We started with some canapès, brochettes, spring rolls and many other appetizers;

then Daniel and Antonio cooked cream-and-salmon pasta and a yummy South American rice dish.

After the starters traditional pork sausage and lentils were waiting for us and for dessert instead we had a sort of tiramisù (unfortunately not well done but eatable at least xD) and a light strawberry yogurt cake in addition to typical pandoro and panettone.

At the end everybody was full but at the stroke of midnght nothing could stop us from jumping, dancing, poppin' champagne, laughing and shouting out loud
to welcome as best as we can the New Year.
We also shot some fireworks at the garden but the best thing of all was sending to the sky all our wishes and desires for 2012 written on a Chinese sky lantern: It was very touching...
I hope you had a great party too and I wish that 2012 brings happiness and peace
to all of you and your beloved ones...
Happy New Year guys!

Marta and Cristina, June 2011

Hi Guys! What's up?

It's been so long since the last post, I know and I'm very very sorry :(...

First of all I want to wish you all Happy New Year! 2012 is already started!

What did you do for New Year's Eve?! Did you enjoy it?

I spent 4 days in the mountains with some friends to Antonio's holidays house near Bergamo.

Today I want to share some pictures that I shot with some friends during some spare time...

Common Factor: the white wall (Yes, in perfect Terry Richardson style. I adore him!)

You don't always need special locations to shoot nice pictures..

The important thing it's being inspired...

Enjoy!

The skyscrapers

Do you remember when I talked about the ice-skating court at Palazzo Lombardia?

Well, Sunday afternoon my dear friend Olga and I visited the 39th floor of the skyscraper...

to admire the panoramic view of the city. The queue was quite long(we had to wait in line for about 30minutes) but at the end we made it! Before going to the top floor, a tour guide escorted us
to the Vertical Museum, a sort of small museum of modern art with different columns
"transformed" in pieces of art by young newcomer artists.

Then we finally took the super fast elevator and in less than few seconds we arrived to destination.

Sadly the weather was a little bit cloudy, not good to let us see the Alps in the background or the airplanes leaving from Linate Airport but nevertheless we tried to take some nice pictures.

Next Sunday the building will be accessible to visitors for the last time (at least for now)!

If you are nearby you must have a look!

Have a nice week :D!

Happy Birthday Stephen!

Small vase made at the moment by an artisan for me

Once a year, here in Milan we have the fortune to host for a week one of the greatest handcraft exhibitions in all Europe at Fieramilano Rho.

It's really nice and loads of people use to come every year to start buying Christmas gifts in a original way. Craftmen from all over the world come here to show their handmade products and to represent as well as possible their beloved home countries in Italy.

Yesterday my friends and I went and stayed there almost the whole day.

We started from the Middle East area full of typical persian carpets and leather goods, then we visited the African corner where we found things like wood sculptures and masai jewels before crossing the "New Continent" in order to arrive then to South East Asia
where we spent a really long time admiring all the handcrafted products they were selling:

big fans, lanterns, traditional clothing, furnitures...

Everything was very fascinating but in the meantime, we started feeling very hungry
and for that reason we decided to "came back" to Europe and have a short "Pit Stop"
in France to eat croquettes and in Germany for some wieners and sauerkrauts.

After that we returned to Asia to see India, Nepal, Japan and China
where colorful indian scarfs and veils, kimonos, ninja's swords, bento boxes
and funny good-luck charms were waiting just for us.

It was really like being in those countries and
it was also really hilarious to hear people saying to their friends on the phone things like:

<<Hey buddy, I'm here in Holland right now! Where are you exactly?

Oh, ok...See you in Perù in 10 mins then!>>. Ahahhah, beyond craziness!!!

I really enjoyed this day and now I'm already looking forward to next year exhibition!

And you?

Palazzo Lombardia, the regional government seat

Hi guys! What's up?

Today some friends and I spent the afternoon at Palazzo Lombardia
where an ice court was set up at the foot of the skyscraper just for the winter holidays .

It was really a great idea to promote this initiative in Milan, to let people enjoy

during holidays or days off without leaving the city.

Today (Patron of Milan's day, Sant'Ambrogio) in fact, a lot of families came and

had fun with their children. Another point in favor is also the low price for the ticket entrance+hiring skates:

ONLY 1€! It's unbelievable!!!

If you are in Milan and you have some free time, you should go and try!
