Arizonaas Phoenix Childrenas Hospital, designed and renovated by HKS Architects, is an 11-story tower facility that is one of the largest pediatric campuses in the country. A The building is part of a larger campus and a part of Phoenixas community, which was a factor in determining the aesthetics of the new architecture. A The design team was challenged to enhance the campus, improving upon its existing planning and flexibility, and staying true to the facilityas vision of providing childrenas care in a comfortable atmosphere. Contemporary Adaptation Of A Californian Bungalow In Australia

This home is a great example of how Australian suburban typologies can be adapted to contemporary housing requirements. The California Dreaming residence, located in a developing neighborhood of Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, is one of many new contemporary residences that start to replace old style homes in this area. Bild Architecture designed this 235 square meters residential unit with a central program containing the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room, surrounded by living spaces placed at the border with the exterior. This ensures the main living areas are filled with natural light.

Minimalist Bathtub Design for Original Modern Bathrooms

Designed by Claudia Danelon and Federico Meroni, this black modern bathtub included in the designersa Beyond Collection, comes with a surprising look. Minimalist and elegant, it goes without saying that there are few interiors within witch this bathtub could not integrate perfectly. Its delicate lines seem to contrast the roughness of the monolith block in cladding polystyrene it is fixed in. The chic appearance of the egg-like shaped tub could be taken advantage of to the maximum in a bathroom with floor to ceiling windows and lovely nature views, such as in the first photo of this post.

Musical instruments are a noble and original source of inspiration for modern design. This accordion-inspired Homework Table, designed by Nika Zupanc is a relevant example. Seemingly a common, minimalist table at a first glance, this furniture item has a special feature hidden within. By turning a side handle, accordion folders come out of the table top and reveal plenty of storage options for various office objects.

As we notice from the name, it has a strong urban personality. The space draws heavily on the figure of a typical English gentlemen, mixing this kind of style with the informal and colourful environment peculiar to this central district of Granada. It is characterized by an informal and amusing aesthetics which welcomes and accompanies the visitor for his whole stay. Entering the hotel we are welcomed by a distinctive ceiling.

Perkins+Willas VanDusen Botanical Garden Visitor Centre in Vancouver, BC is designed to meet the Living Building Challenge, the most rigorous set of requirements of sustainability. Formally and functionally, it encompasses the goals of environmentally and socially conscious design. The building is an undulating landscape of interior and exterior spaces rising from ground to roof level and providing a vast surface area on which vegetation could grow, thus reoccupying the land on which the building sits with the landscape. The building also features numerous passive and active systems that reuse the siteas renewable resources and the buildingas own waste.

A 12000 sqm bungalow set in caldecott drive, singapore designed by formwerkz architects. Three volumes of varying sizes are arranged to take full advantage of this triangulated site. Blessed with a relatively untouched forest along the longest length of the site, we ran a 50m long, moat-like infinity pool along its boundary to reflect the foliage. The three volumes and its adjoining courtyards are entirely wrapped in black granite, in stark contrast to a predominately white interior.

Perched on a hillside in Saint Barts, this contemporary villa stands out due ti its generous heated infinity pool, water-fall stone garden and mesmerizing ocean views. With enough space for a large family, Villa Avenstar is structured on three levels and accommodates five bedrooms. Here is more from the official project description: aThe villaas hub is on the second and main level, whose open floor plan encompasses a large living room with home cinema, a dining area, a well-equipped gourmet kitchen and a guest bath. The pool and as a spacious terrace for sunning, relaxing and alfresco dining are also on this level; a second very large deck is on the lower level making Avenstar the perfect venue for hosting a wedding or other special event.

The metaphor of a tree house was invoked from the onset of design conceptualization to create an environment for learning via a journey of discovery and play. The use of skylights, trellises and colored glass transforms incoming daylight into a myriad of shades and colours, creating an intriguing dappled light quality within the library that simulates light filtered through the foliage of trees. aPodsa cantilevered off the main building faAade exude a distinctive charisma on the exterior and create suspended alcoves at an intimate scale from the building interior. The library is raised above the anonymity of its mixed used neighborhood and sets out to stir the curiosity of the community.

Highly Modern Apartment Design in Russia

Architectural bureau SL Project founded by by Russian architect Alexey Nikolashina completed a modern apartment design in Moscow, Russia. Lacquer finishes set the tone for the apartment, making this home highly modern and a bit flashy. The living room is the core of the crib and hosts a generously-sized sofa, a small coffee table and an interesting TV, fireplace and bookcase unit. The lighting is insured by a tall, arched floor lamp and various cylindricalA pendant lamps which seem to descend from the ceiling.

The construction was built in the 18th century, but it was completely burnt out in Moscow Fire in 1812. Only stone part of it escaped destruction. The wooden part of it was restored at the end of the 19thcentury.
