Ashley's previous Twilight movie roles have propelled this super sexy actress on the hot Hollywood list under the age of 30. The following plot spoiler will reveal major movie spoilers, so beware of the spoilers if you haven't watched the movie yet. The plot is arranged in sequential order, though some plot points are out of sequence.

An unknown man narrates the opening scene over a dead female body. The surrounding environment conveys the man is a truck driver who is a serial killer.

Summer hitchhikes in man's car. He expects Summer to pay him with giving him oral sex. Summer pulls out a gun and tells the driver to keep his eyes on the road.

Summer shoplifts food and accessories at a store in a small town. The sheriff watches Summer from the distance. He approaches Summer, informing her that people around here pay for their items. Summer throws down a rack of store goods. She runs away. The sheriff falls over the rack.

Summer runs outside. A young man Tom Hoxey (Peter Mooney) tells Summer to hide inside his truck. Summer is reluctant to accept Tom's offer, but he urges her to hurry up or else the sheriff will find her.

Tom drives off with Summer. She asks Tom the reason he helps her to escape the sheriff. He claims the sheriff previously busted him for a drinking charge.

At a local bar, the two of them have a few drinks. They chat about Summer's travels. Summer is obviously a confident girl who can take care of herself.

Tom takes Summer back to his home. Summer discovers that Tom lives with his mom. Tom is direct with Summer, so the two agree to go upstairs and get their groove on. The hot Summer warms up the room with her sexy body and movements.

In the morning, Summer wakes up and puts her clothes on. She scavenges the kitchen, taking money from a jar. She drinks a glass of sink water.

Tom enters the kitchen. He tells Summer she can stay. Summer is not interested. She tells Tom he was good last night. Summer wanted to avoid the awkward morning goodbye.

Tom refuses to let Summer leave. He keeps telling Summer she can't leave. Summer pulls out a gun, threatening Tom to let her go or else she'll take action. Tom's mother Gaia Hoxey (Barbara Niven) smacks Summer on the back of her head with an object.

Summer is stored in the basement. A frail young woman Amber (Danielle Kind) is also held hostage. Tom considers the basement as his garden. The girls make his garden look beautiful. We discover Tom is a serial killer after he shows Summer a skull of a deceased girl.

Amber's father Darwin is released from jail. He notices his home is a mess. Darwin asks the sheriff whether he has heard from Amber. The sheriff is biased toward Darwin.

Summer tries to survive in the basement. She is defiant toward Tom and his mother. When Summer and Amber are alone, Summer tells the weakened Amber to grab the keys. Amber falls on the ground and dies.

Tom is pissed off that one of his girls died. He takes any deaths seriously. Tom's garden is special to him since his father locked him in the basement as a child.

Tom is told to get rid of Summer. His mother feels that keeping the garden is too dangerous. Tom is having an affair with his own mother. This is one twisted family.

Summer is left alone in the basement. Tom searches Amber's purse, finding an old picture and a journal. He gives Summer water. Tom unlocks Summer from the chains. He gives Summer a bath upstairs.

Summer is given permission to work upstairs while Tom is home. She must stay in the basement when Tom and the mother are gone.

Tom and Summer have sex again. Summer is obviously manipulating Tom. The two talk about their future plans to leave. Tom wants to stay in the home, but Summer has other plans.

The sheriff inform Gaia that Darwin is worried about Amber's whereabouts. She tells the sheriff she hasn't seen Amber. The sheriff wants to ask Gaia out on a date.

Tom is asked about Amber. He tells Darwin he hasn't seen his daughter. Tom works on Darwin's oven. He tells Darwin that Amber must have left to watch a music band.

Jessie (Cinthia Burke) is a local mechanic that is witness to Tom being with Jessie. Tom decides to take Jessie hostage to prevent her from speaking to Darwin.

Tom's father Gant Hoxey (Stephen McHattie) is on his way home. He realizes he has a surprise at home. Tom is injured in the basement. Jessie cuts him on his leg.

Tom asks Summer to give Jessie water. Jessie thinks Summer and the rest of the bunch are expecting her to become a sex slave. She agrees to do anything sexual. Summer begs Jessie to stay quiet.

Summer attempts to escape. Darwin drives up to the front of the home. Summer enters Darwin's car, frantic about leaving the home right away. Darwin asks Summer if he daughter is in the home.

Tom shoots a perfect shot, blowing apart Darwin's head. Summer runs out of the car. She tries to escape, but Tom shoots a shot next to her foot.

Summer is restrained again. She is next to Jessie. The father arrives home. He visits downstairs to see Summer. Gant tells Summer her mother never told him about her existence. Summer discovers Gant is her father. She came looking for her father; however, she finds a monster.

Gant guts Jessie. He lets Summer go upstairs. The family have a cake. Tom defies his father, informing him he is not going to take Summer. Gant makes a joke that he is in love with his sister.

Tom walks out with a gun and threatens his father. Gant takes the gun from Tom, shooting him to death. Summer is shocked. Tom's mother is saddened to see her son dead. Gant also shoots Gaia dead.

Gant and Summer leave the home. They drive to a nearby park. Gant approaches a woman who is having a picnic. Summer walks up to her father and stabs him to death.

The picnic woman screams, pleading Summer to not to killer her too. Summer tells the woman he was going to kill you, and then me eventually. The movie ends.

Insidious is an astral horror about a young child who engages in astral projection. In the astral travels, the young astral traveler gets stuck in "The Further," The Astral Hell of the subplanes. Ghosts haunt the Lambert home. We never figure out thr ghosts' motivation at first. The astral beings hang around the home for some reason that we will discover later.

Young Dalton plays in the attic. He falls off a ladder, hitting his head in process. However, Josh and mother Renai are able to help him shake off the dust.

In the morning, Josh tries to wake up Dalton. Dalton is unresponsive. At the hospital, the physician claims that Dalton has no neurological damage. Nevertheless, Dalton is in a coma. Why is Dalton in a coma? The moviegoer must watch the movie further to understand the source of the coma.

Weird sounds are coming from inside the home. Renai feels like she is going crazy. The young brother fears Dalton because he walks around at night. How can Dalton walk around in his coma state?

The answer to the sleepwalking question will surface later. Renai continues to experience paranormal events. The front door abruptly opens with no source to the occurrence. In the midst of the supernatural sightings, Renai seems to be losing her mind.

Josh grades school papers. His stress levels are obviously off the charts. In that moment of time, Josh astral projects from the school into the home. In stressful moments, a person can consciously astral project to another location. Josh is unaware of his having an out of body experience and or doing astral projection.

Josh arrives home late. Renai is sitting on the front porch. She questions Josh for coming home late. He is on the defensive side, though Renai is referring to needing his help during the stressful times. Josh learns to become more supportive.

The Lambert family relocates to a new home. Renai continues to see ghosts haunting the home. Therefore, a priest is called upon to help Renai. Nonetheless, Josh refuses to believe there is anything wrong. Josh's mom explains to Josh that there is truth to Renai's claims. She shares her dream of a red-faced demon.

Out of nowhere, a red-faced demon shows up behind Josh. Whereas the demon sighting is somewhat silly, the plot design is leading the moviegoer to the source of Dalton's coma.

A team is called to investigate the home. In their investigation, the team discovers multiple ghosts parading the home. Hence, a psychic medium Elise Rainier is recruited to look further into the ghosts. She discovers a demon spirit preying on Dalton's physical body.

During this team, the moviegoer is introduced to astral projection and the astral form. It is the most important plot point in the entire movie. This is when Josh learns about his past astral travels and the old woman spirit preying on his physical body.

Dalton's astral projection travels took him into "The Further". His astral form is stuck there, so his physical body is incapable of functioning in the physical world. Astral projection is the act of moving outside the physical body through an astral form. The astral form or astral body is the spirit of the physical body.

Dalton's drawings represent another important plot design of the Insidious movie. The drawings show Dalton astral traveling, which he writes in crayon that he watched his body sleeping. Dalton understands his astral travel gift enough to venture while in his unconscious state. Josh decides to trust Elise.

Josh decides to take part in the experiment to confront the demon spirit. It is an intense moment that beings about the red-faced demon's evil message to Elise. A ghost tosses Josh and Renai. The red-faced demon controls Dalton, whose little frame overpowers everyone in the room. Elise casts the demon out of Dalton; however, he falls to the ground. Josh is not happy with the outcome.

Josh's mother reveals to Josh that Elise and her go way back. They explain that an old woman spirit who attempted to possess Josh's physical body, showing the childhood pictures. The possession is reminiscent of the red-faced demon trying to prey on Dalton's physical body. Josh discovers he has the skill to astral project as well.

The astral projection scene is designed to show the moviegoer how to astral project. We see Josh going into a trance under Elise's guidance. Josh then gives on the experiment, only to discover he has astral projected outside of his body, also known as the out of body experience (OBE).

The Insidious movie plot conveyed the opening paranormal activity and Dalton's coma as symptoms to an even greater problem. Astral projection is introduced to the moviegoer as the cause and the solution to Dalton's condition.

Interestingly enough, Josh is the only person who can save his son in "The Further". The astral projection is slowly released in the plot design to keep the moviegoers focused on the signs and symptoms. Elise diagnoses the problem with astral projection and the astral form getting trapped in "The Further," also known as The Astral Hell of the subplanes.

Josh goes on a journey to rescue his son. The Astral Hell is populated with evil spirits who have committed malicious acts in their human life. Josh witnesses one ghost killing her parents. He fights a man who has terrorized Renai numerous times.

Josh rescues Dalton from the red-faced demon. He has to put up a fight against the red-faced demon with the long sharp nails. Josh and Dalton are tossed around the room. However, the two manage to escape the dungeon. They rush back to the home where their physical bodies remain. The ghosts follow their scent, so they must hurry as quickly as possible.

In the movie ending, Josh confronts the old woman in the mirror. He tells her he is not afraid. Josh refuses to allow the woman to terrorize him anymore. We assume Josh has defeated the old woman with confronting his fear.

Josh's astral form reenters his physical body again. Renai and the mom rush to check on Dalton. In the midst of the intense ending, we find closure to the ghosts and the demon spirit.

The movie ending throws another twist at the moviegoer. Josh tells Elise he long needs the picture. He hands it to Elise. She looks at Josh strangely, reaching down into her bag to remove a camera. She takes a snapshot of Josh.

Josh goes berserk. He chokes the living daylights out of Elise. Elise dies of strangulation. Renai enters the living room to find Elise dead. She views the camera to find the old woman in the image. What does the old woman mean?

The old woman has fully possessed Josh's physical body. She has tried to possess Josh many times in the past. Since Josh no longer astral projected, he never exposed his physical body to possession. The old woman is a parasite Josh encountered in the subplanes. She imposed a threat to him.

In the end, Josh sacrificed himself to save his son. The old woman now occupies his body. Elise is also dead, which is the only person who could exercise the old woman out of Josh. Insidious ends with Josh placing his hand on Renai's shoulder.

We never find out what will happen to Renai and everyone else. Josh is possessed with an old woman with a desire to live again. She is an evil spirit with bad intentions, influencing Josh to kill Elise.

Insidious is about astral projection, demonic and ghost possession, and the mystery of the subplanes of the astral plane. Overall, the movie conveys astral projection in depth to entertain the moviegoers. It is one of the best depictions of astral projection in the movies. Overall, Insidious is a good astral horror with great writing, directing and acting.

In the opening scene, three young girls jump out of the window. Why do these girls jump to the death? The woman in black curses all children in the town. She died an unhappy woman, making her hatred manifest into vengeance. Children are unable to fight the woman in black's evil because she possesses them.

Arthur reflects back on his deceased wife. He hasn't come to terms yet. Ever since Arthur lost his wife four years prior, his life has fallen apart. We see a collection notice in his bag. Little Joseph is possibly the only person in the world that is keeping Arthur from committing suicide.

At a law firm, Arthur discusses his upcoming job. He is expected to review documents in an estate. This estate belongs to the woman in black, who committed suicide shortly after her son died in a carriage accident.

On the train, Arthur has a dream about his wife's death. The wife passed away during the childbirth process. She never meets Joseph. This plot point (dream sequence) sets up the movie ending.

Arthur meets Mr. Daily after he wakes from the bad dream. Mr. Daily is a friendly businessman who is interested in Arthur's travels. Meeting Dr. Daily is important to the movie plot. Mr. Daily connects Arthur with his wife.

Mrs. Daily carves the woman in black on the dining table. While at her son's grave, Mrs. Daily confirms the existence of the woman in black. It is important to meet Mr. and Mrs. Daily.

The innkeeper refuses to give Arthur a room because he realizes the danger of the woman in black. Arthur is placed in the exact room where the three girls commit suicide, as shown in the opening sequence. The town is unaccommodating to Arthur, knowing their children are now in danger.

The woman in black resides in her estate. Arthur's document task awakens the woman's spirit. Hence, he begins to experience strange experiences that continue to worsen. Another good plot point is showing the son's carriage accident to connect us to the movie ending.

The significance of the accident is to identify the motivation behind the woman in black's curse on children. The woman in black lost her son to a carriage accident along the road leading up to the estate.

The fourth child to die - the young girl who swallows poison. Arthur holds the girl's lifeless body in the town sheriff building. At this moment, we figure out that the woman in black is reenergized to kill again.

The town's anger is obvious. We sense they're blaming Arthur for the young girl's death. However, the town never implies the woman in black is real.

The town members refuse to let Mr. Daily and Arthur through the road. Mr. Daily tricks the moviegoers with agreeing to drop Arthur off at the train station. Instead of driving back the other way, Mr. Daily rolls down the road to disperse the resistance.

Mr. Daily warns Arthur to avoid chasing after shadows. He is a nonbeliever in the superstitious, especially in the woman in black who previously lived in the estate. Mr. Daily lends his dog to Arthur.

Most people know that pets can sense ghosts. Arthur experiences a terrible night. His superstitious level is now at 99%.

Another young girl dies in a fire accident. Arthur sees the woman in black next to the burning girl. This is the last percentage to confirm there is a woman in black who has cursed the town.

Arthur decides to end the curse. He must save his son from the woman in black. Retrieving the deceased son in the mud to reunite with woman in black is deemed the only solution to save the town and little Joseph. The mud keeps the dead son's body intact.

At the estate, Arthur prepares the son's body to reunite his spirit with the woman in black. On the other hand, Mr. Daily remains a nonbeliever. Arthur winds up all the toys to communicate to the woman in black. Mr. Daily's son appears from the distance. He walks to his son, only to be trapped inside a room.

This is an important scene to show Mr. Daily that ghosts do exist. The woman in black moves up the hallway to darken the space. Arthur watches the woman retrieve her son's soul. Therefore, the estate quiets down, releasing an frightened and agitated Mr. Daily from the locked room.

Arthur is hopeful that reuniting the woman with the son is enough to end the curse. In the movie ending, Arthur is joined together with his son. He hugs Joseph, thankful for seeing his son.

Mr. Daily and Joseph meet on another. Arthur inform the housekeeper to purchase three train tickets to go back home. Mr. Daily offers Arthur and his family to stay at his home. Arthur is in a hurry to leave the town. We don't blame him after the frightening experiences.

Back at the estate, the woman in black echoes that she will never forgive. This is no ordinary spirit, but a malicious entity who will continue to kill children to repent. She feeds off the deceased children. Their souls are like Freddie Krueger's children. Freddie is also another angry soul on a revenge mission.

The woman in black lures Joseph away from Arthur. We sense that Arthur will run on the tracks to save his son. This is the moment the dream sequences are most prevalent to the movie ending. How does Arthur's grief, melancholy and inability to cope with his wife's passing connect the beginning to the end?

Arthur's internal motivation is to reunite with his wife. He knows that committing suicide is morally wrong. Because suicide is viewed as a sin, Arthur realizes he will not go up to Heaven.

Arthur's external motivation is to save his son. It is his first instinct. Thus, Arthur and Joseph are killed in the process. We never see their bodies collide with the train. The darkness that overshadows the train station is referred to as a motif to convey death. The woman in black darkens her estate to show the meaning of death.

The Woman in Black movie features many allegorical themes such as religious symbolism - manifesting hate leads to evil and rejecting suicide will deliver a good human to Heaven - dreams connect the living to the deceased, the dead who seek vengeance show no mercy for the living, the wife/mother represents an Angel symbol, and reuniting the son with the mother is viewed as a putting a soul to rest.

After Mr. Daily sees his son, he becomes a believer. He is no longer rejecting the superstitious. The estate experience enables him to look further into the train to see the woman in black with the children. This moment can be conceived as allegory to explore religion since a new believer opens their eyes to God through interpreting the Bible verses.

Arthur accepts death to reunite with his wife. He has waited four years. Introducing the son to his mother is a magic moment that defeats evil. The woman in black can only watch the happiness, though her vengeance will continue to wreak havoc on the town's children.

The woman in black enabled Arthur and Joseph to reach the afterlife. Nevertheless, the woman in black intended to kill Joseph. She never sought after reuniting the Kipps' family. Evil spirits such as this woman in black will never stop harming people unless a living human breaks the curse.

In essence, the allegory in the woman in black conveys that hate, vengeance, and refusing to forgive manifest into evil curses. Freddy Krueger, The Grudge, Jason, Halloween and most evil horror movies are based on revenge. The woman in black realized her negative actions resulted in a positive outcome.

The women in black watches the happiness. We think she is happy about the bonding. However, the woman in black never forgives, She is a malevolent spirit with eternal hatred.

In 1965, Harriet Vanger left the busy home in a car trunk, escaping the sexual abuse that tormented her life. She relocates to London, changing her identity in the process. After Martin's death in a card accident, Mikael returns to London again to inform Harriet her uncle misses her very much.

Henrik gives Mikael the secret files to use as retaliation against the billionaire. Nothing in the files are useful to pursue to harm the billionaire.

Mikael returns back to his hometown. Lisbeth requests a $50,000 loan from Mikael. He claims she doesn't have the money, but she informs him he does. We know by now Lisbeth is a computer genius capable of finding any dirt on any person.

Lisbeth purchases supplies. She makes a fake passport to imitate the billionaire's wife or girlfriend. Lisbeth steals the entire fortune, transferring the money into several offshore accounts. She returns back home to pay Mikael back the loan.

In the news, it is revealed the billionaire has lost most of his fortune. Then later, the billionaire is killed. Lisbeth purchases a nice leather jacket to give Mikael as a gift to show that she cares about him.

Lisbeth spots Mikael walking out of his home with his editor. She dumps the leather jacket in the garbage can and drives off on her motorcycle.

Fast forward twenty years later to 2009: Isabella Rossi decides to do a documentary on Maria Rossi to learn more about the 1989 murders. She feels there is more to the murders. Isabella hasn't seen her mother Maria Rossi since she was a young girl.

Isabella Rossi visits Rome, Italy, the home to the Vatican Catholic Church. Maria Rossi is locked away in the Centrino Hospital. Isabella is about to see her mother for the first time in twenty years. The cameraman shoots the meeting reuniting the mother and daughter. Maria looks at Isabella as if she is a stranger, making the meeting rather cold and chilling.

Maria has no recollection of her daughter. She tells Isabella that should have not killed the baby. Isabella is in shock. Thus, there is no possible way Isabella's mother should knows about the termination of short-term pregnancy due to health complications. Maria reveals self-mutilated wounds in the form of inverted crosses on her inner forearms and under her lip. Isabella pulls in closer to listen to her mother. Maria begins to yell like a crazy woman (no pun intended). The physician enters the room to restrain Maria, and then tells the cameraman and Isabella they have to leave.

Isabella tries to recompose herself after the strange meeting with her mother. We see Isabella watching a lecture in the Exorcism School at the Vatican. The exorcist school lecturer informs the priests that they must understand the difference between the possessed and the normal human subject. An exorcism video is shown to the class to depict the evil of demons. The subject is supposedly rejected as a candidate to undergo an exorcism since the Church believes she is not suffering from demonic possession.

The priests begin to debate about demonic possession. One nonbeliever and another believers state their opinion of the exorcism seen on the video. The lecturer draws a connection of the chalkboard, noting that multiple demonic possession is possible.

Isabella meets two exorcists David and Ben. She reveals to them that she wants to learn more about exorcisms and demonic possession. Isabella reveals to the priests that she is doing a documentary on her mother because she murdered three people and believes the murders to be a result of possession.

David and Ben watch the Maria Rossi video. They notice that she has self-mutilated wounds of inverted crosses. Maria displays clairvoyance powers. Isabella asks to attend the Exorcism School to learn about exorcisms and possession. David and Ben invite Isabella to attend an unauthorized exorcism. The Church rejected a woman to undergo an exorcism to exorcise a demon. Hence, the woman is believed to have a psychological condition rather than demonic possession.

The young woman is moved down to the basement to sleep on a bed. Her condition has worsened, so moving her to the basement prevents any further accidents with hurting her family members. Moviegoers realize that they're in for a scary ride.

The possessed woman twists her body parts, which the bones make crackling noises. She is restrained to the bed. David monitors the woman's vital signs to ensure she is safe. He indicate that larger eye pupils than normal usually suggest demonic possession.

The exorcism of the young woman is performed. During the exorcism, the woman says nasty things to the exorcists such as wanting to perform oral sex on him. She has been thinking about the moment. The woman also knows Isabella's name. It is one of those surreal moments.

All of a sudden, the lights go out without warning. Everyone in the basement room freak out. The possessed woman attempts to climb up the wall. She is restrained again. Blood begins to leak from her vaginal region. The wild exorcism ends in exorcising out the demon that previously possessed the woman. The cameraman is in utter shock. He is lost for words. Isabella experience a crash course lesson on exorcisms and demonic possession.

The great exorcism of Maria Rossi is looming in the forefront. The exorcism team prepares to perform the exorcism. They get Maria Rossi ready. She is tied down to the bed. The exorcism goes haywire. Maria begs to demonstrate demonic powers such as clairvoyance. She throws the exorcist across the room with ease. The entire room is a scene out of The Exorcist. Thus, the exorcism ends without the exorcists properly exorcising the demon(s).

The exorcists, Isabella and the cameraman review the tape. Maria speaks in four different languages to reveal multiple demonic possession. David acts weirdly. He begins to eat in the dark. There is obvious tension between everyone. Isabella complains about Ben to the cameraman.

David performs a Baptism on a baby. He looks rather defiant of the holy place. The Baptism attendees watch David dunk the baby in the water and try to drown it. Everyone tries to help free the baby, while David passes out.

The cameraman tells Ben and Isabella that David is not well. He shares that David almost killed a baby during the Baptism. The police arrive at the home to take David into custody. David manages to steal the gun from the policeman. Ben and Isabella try to convince David to put the gun down. David is apparently shaken up. He then recites a passage and blows his head off.

Isabella begins to experience seizures. The passing of the demon spirits transfer from deceased David to possess Isabella. Isabella is taken to the hospital. The cameraman and Ben are in shock. David committed suicide and now Isabella is in a bad state of mind.

Isabella harms another staff member or a patient, somehow slicing the woman's throat. She bends backwards with her backbones making cracking noises. Ben rushes to transfer Isabella to another priest who can help to perform the exorcism.

The three (cameraman, Ben and Isabella) drive in a car along a dark road. Ben restrains Isabella to keep her from harming them. The cameraman and Ben panic. The possessed Isabella tries to choke the cameraman. In that exact moment, the demon spirits transfer to the cameraman. The cameraman removes his safety belt. The climax is going crazy. We are about to see one last exorcism.

All of a sudden, the car crashes and tumbles. We see the car occupants getting thrown around inside. The screen fades to black, mentioning the Rossi story is unsolved and that we must join the investigation at The Rossi Files.
