It’s very easy to save money at your wedding reception as well. Normally, you have to rent the venue and serve food to dozens or even hundreds of people. You will have the costs of the plates, napkins, forks, picks, food, centerpieces, and the list goes on and on. Alternatively, you could have an informal open house with only close friends and family. This is much more intimate and the cost will be much less than a formal reception. A wedding dinner at your favorite restaurant is also a great way to save money, but will involve far fewer guests.

By having an outdoor reception, you will save money on decorations, as the natural landscape of the garden will be nearly enough. You could borrow lawn furniture, umbrellas, canopy’s and screens from friends and neighbors. By purchasing fresh potted flowers as decorations or centerpieces, you can give them to the wedding party as gifts following the reception or use them to decorate your newlywed home.

Serve a few simple finger foods as refreshments. You and your family can make some punch, cut up fresh fruit or bake a few treats. This will make your guests feel more than welcome and your budget will remain intact. You can save money with the invitations also. Instead of invitations, send out announcements simply stating that the wedding has already taken place. Save Money On Wedding Photography
If you insist on having professional photographs of your wedding, then consider hiring an apprentice to do the work. Alternatively, friends and relatives can take photos and email them to you after the reception. Everyone owns a camera or, at the very least, a cell phone capable of taking pictures or video. Can you save money by getting married on  day other than Saturday? The worst that anyone can say is no. You could also consider sponsorship, will the local printers give you a discount if you include a link to their site on the back of each invite?

Insects are not the only creature which can be a problem. Birds love to swoop in and attempt to snatch a little bite. While most birds have a sweet chirp, others can be obnoxious. Think “The Little Mermaid” when the albatross is trying to get the prince to kiss Ariel. At seaside, seagulls in great numbers can be rather loud. In other locations, crows are the problem. Gardeners hang CD’s and DVD’s on branches to keep birds from orchards and gardens. By hanging these in trees, the shining light will keep the birds from ruining your big day.

Most rental venues will have giant canopy, gazebo or tent for rent. Many catering companies will have these covers available for an additional cost, but this will be easier for you. You can relax and not have to bother with putting up and packing away the huge tent after your party. By putting a huge canopy over your party, the insects and birds will probably not be any bother at all.

If you live in an area where birds and insects will be a constant problem, then the final option is to have your wedding during the colder months. By adding a few outdoor heaters, you can make our outdoor space just as comfortable as being indoors, but you’ll have the fresh air rather than the stuffy banquet hall. Of course, you will then have to deal with the potential of rain, hail, ice or snow.

No matter if you have your wedding indoors or out, there is always a problem which COULD come up. If you always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, then you should do it. You will only get married once, so make this an affair to remember. There is always the unruly guest at any wedding, but the majority of guests will understand if any problem will arise. These are just a few things to consider when choosing a date or when deciding on a venue for your wedding or reception.

Ask people to bring their own cameras and request that they upload them to a specific site and then share them with you. That way you can make prints of any you like, if you then make a central list of the photos people could create their own photo albums and have them printed and sent out. Walgreens often do specials on prints where you can buy them for as little as 10c a print.

Since you only get married once the one thing that you do need to think about paying for a professional is your wedding photographs. It is good fun to see the photos that your friends take but when it comes to photos of you in your wedding dress with your husband you really do need a professional.

Be Flexible
Having a wedding on a budget is a lot easier if you plan it all out and know when to be flexible on what you want. Think about the things you want, and then think about what you would be just as happy with. If you love roses but they are out of season (thus expensive) think about a flower that is in season (and thus cheaper). This is your big day but don’t be a bridezilla!

What we did was create a yellow sticky note for each item then put that on the top of a pad and started writing questions down. Then you answer each one as you go. Writing things down helps keep the wedding planning panic at bay. This applies when you are planning anyones wedding day but especially if it is someone else’s as they will see how organized you are.

Some ideas of the questions we put down are below, they may help you with your lists

Venue
-How many does it hold
-Hours of operation
-Outside catering allowed or not

Bride
-Which dress shops to look at
-Which color
-What styles (the bride may well have pics from magazines of dresses she loves)
-Wedding shoes
-Diet or not to diet?
-how many bridesmaids, who?

You can see that when you start to answer these questions you will be building up a picture of the wedding day and as long as you deal with each question in a timely manner you will have a great wedding day. Try and ask about the big things like wedding cars, but do not forget the small items like wedding favors.  Things like wedding rings do not need to be listed but can not be ignored either, do not assume that the groom will deal with this, better to check first. (my husband didn’t quite forget but it was close).

Its Supposed To Be Fun
Everyone gets stressed planning a wedding, the bride, the groom, the in laws, the bridesmaids and the wedding planner will all have times where they feel like crying. That is part of organizing anything that is so important., Try and remember that getting married is fun, it is the biggest day of the bride and grooms life and it is supposed to be a day everyone remembers with smiles on their faces.
