Lisa & Matthew : Baby Shower Invitations

Lisa and Matthew are former wedding clients, and I recently had the opportunity to work with them again as they await the arrival of their first baby - a girl! We worked together on their baby shower invitations, which incorporate their fun "Made in Michigan" shower theme and colors from the baby's nursery - pink, purple, and gray.

Lisa had the idea to use a children's mitten as the visual for the state of Michigan. I found the perfect image of a hand-knit mitten and placed a heart near Detroit where they live.

There will be stripes and polka dots in the baby's nursery, and those patterns and shapes were brought into the invitations with a diagonal striped pattern and lavender paper wrap behind the round "Made in Michigan" seal.

Two enclosure cards were included with the invitations. A lavender card with a poem and request to bring a book in lieu of a card, framed by dots and stripes. Also, a soft gray card with a custom map design and directions to the baby shower location.

Amy & Jess : Wedding Invitations

Amy and Jess' wedding colors are black and white and after visiting "too many sites to count" online, Amy kept going back to the black scroll panel invitations I made for Lisa & Matthew's wedding. Lisa's invitations are one of my favorites - so classic and elegant - and I had a great time working with Amy to create a similar style that was perfect for her wedding day.

I wanted to share Cari's beautiful wedding day accents, which were designed to complement her apple green and brown floral damask wedding invitations.

Look Whoo's One : Blue Owl Birthday Party

We recently celebrated our son Maxwell's first birthday! I planned a simple, short and SWEET party for him with an blue owl theme. The birthday boy had a fun-filled afternoon with family, new toys, and his very own cake!

Maxwell wore a cute owl shirt that was custom-created by an etsy seller. I sent her the invitation image and she used fabrics to match his party colors.

The smash cake was a simple white frosted cake decorated with an adorable edible owl cake topper that came with matching edible letters and leaves - also from etsy!

Blue and green cupcakes for our guests were placed on faux wood chargers from Amazon.

I created owl themed cupcake toppers with round customized stickers that were adhered to cardstock and lollypop sticks. I used a 2" circle punch to shape the cardstock into circles.

Cake time! Time to smash the cake...topper!

Cari & Greg : Wedding Invitations

Cari loved the damask border wedding invitations I made for Kirsten & Patrick and wanted a similar look and style with her apple green, chocolate brown and ivory wedding colors. I am in love with this color scheme!

Cari's wedding invitations were designed in a portrait format, and we used a pocket card enclosure to display the invitation on the front panel and keep the enclosure cards neatly organized in the back pocket.

I designed coordinating mailing envelope and response envelope postage stamps in colors that contrasted the envelopes.

Congratulations to Cari and Greg who were married September 30th! Stay tuned for their gorgeous wedding day stationery accents.

Jessica and Marc's wedding took place at Shadowland on Silver Beach and was full of unique experiences and fun details that made it an unforgettable event for all. Jessica sent me the gorgeous photos that Jennifer Mayo captured from their June wedding day, and I am excited to share them with you!

The wedding day stationery included champagne-colored ceremony programs in a booklet style, tented menu cards that doubled as table cards, each table named after a different ride or site from the original Silver Beach Park. My favorite detail was ticket-style escort cards in bright yellow, pink and purple for the three different dinner choices. I looked at vintage carousel tickets for design inspiration. I also designed the wedding monogram that was used as the gobo light on the dance floor, and also on their photo booth strips. After the wedding, photo thank you cards were also created.

Caroline & Matthew : Wedding Invitations and Accents

Helloo, it's been ages since I've blogged! This summer's weddings have been keeping me busy, along with my 8 month old baby and lots of projects on our new home. I promise to share more of the design projects I've been working on in the coming weeks as my schedule slows down a bit!

Today I wanted to share Caroline and Matthew's light pink and navy wedding invitations and wedding day accents. They are getting married this weekend at Addison Oaks in Leonard, MI. Caroline described the style for the day as classic but slightly vintage with antique accents.

The wedding invitations were layered portrait panels with wrapped enclosure cards. Caroline loved the border design with vintage flourish corner details from Amber & Keiland's wedding, and I incorporated this throughout the invitation set, as well as on the wedding day paper items.

Accommodations, directions and response information was included on the enclosure cards, which were two different shades of light pink.

The inner and outer envelopes, also in two shades of pink.

I was excited to create my first fan programs for their wedding day! Perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony.

We used FIVE different escort card colors to signify guest dinner selections!

Navy backings were added to state bird & flower cards that will be used in place of table numbers. I love unique table card ideas, and the nature and state themes tie in perfectly with their venue and the upcoming 4th of July holiday.

Laura & Michael : Wedding Invitations

Laura and Michael came across my site while searching for wedding invitations in their colors of ivory, latte / dark champagne, pale pink and black. They fell in love with the invitations I created for Jessica and Joseph's Wedding, from the format to the colors and style.

For their wedding, we changed the champagne paper to more of a latte color to tie in with Laura's bridesmaid dresses, and also used a modified version of the ornate border as a design motif on all of the invitation components.

The invitation and enclosure cards were wrapped in a wide latte colored monogram band, which holds them in place inside the mailing envelope.

Jenin & Josh : Wedding Day Accents

For Jenin and Josh's wedding day, I created table number cards, signage and a first...custom beverage napkins! All of their items coordinated with their Eat, Drink, and be Married wedding invitations.

The table numbers will be clipped to tall curly willow branch centerpieces with a clothes pin, so I left space above the design for the pin.

Jessica & Marc : Wedding Invitations

Jessica and Marc will be celebrating their wedding this summer at Shadowland on Silver Beach, a unique venue in Southwest Michigan that is located on the shore of Lake Michigan near the Silver Beach Carousel. Jessica's vision for their wedding invitations was something whimsical and slightly vintage in style, but still formal and elegant looking, and she chose to use shades of champagne, ivory, black and a hint of bright pink.

Various typestyles were combined on the invitation design, along with vintage flourishes

A wedding "Details" card with accommodations information, a note about their wedding website and a custom map design. A carousel horse icon marks the location for the reception on the map.

The Reception card features a carousel in pink with their "S" monogram initial, which conveniently works for Silver Beach and Shadowland as well!

The back of the response postcard was designed to look like a carousel ticket. This was Jessica's idea, and it is my favorite detail! I enjoyed browsing through images of vintage carousel tickets for inspiration. The photo on the "ticket" was taken at Jessica & Marc's engagement shoot on Silver Beach, as was the photo we used for their save the date announcement.

To complete the look of these gorgeous invitations, envelopes were printed with the addresses and custom carousel horse response card stamps and carousel/monogram mailing envelope stamps were designed.

Jenin & Josh : Wedding Invitations

Jenin contacted me about wedding invitations that incorporated the ring place setting illustration and z-card format from Amy and Steve's wedding rehearsal invitations, combined with an "Eat, Drink, & Be Married" logo, her wedding theme, and white, gray and soft yellow colors.

The white z-card that I designed for her features the Eat, Drink, & Be Married logo in a mix of different typestyles, with the wedding invitation on the center panel, and reception information on the bottom panel.

An information card and RSVP card were also created, and Jenin is planning to use yellow baker's twine to bundle them with the invitations.

Amy's Baby Shower

I was really excited when Amy asked me to make her baby shower invites! She was one of my first wedding clients, and I've had a chance to work with her on so many fun paper projects.

I was inspired by the alphabet & number art prints and the striped bedding pattern that will be used in the baby's nursery (note: the baby's gender is a surprise!), and I combined the two elements within the invitation design. The color scheme is my favorite part...it is so fresh and unique, and perfect for a boy or girl.

Coordinating custom stamps with the shower date and striped wrap-around address labels dress up the powder blue envelopes.

I worked with Jessica's future mother-in-law, Leslie, on her panel shower invitations. The shower has a "something old, new, borrowed, blue" theme, and I used a mix of different typefaces to make this a feature. Leslie also wanted to include a photo of the carousel at Jessica's wedding reception site. The carousel was built in the early 1900's and recently restored, and the photo has blue, so it fits the theme perfectly!

Marisa & Sean : Wedding Invitations

I created these invitations for my sister-in-law and future brother-in-law, Marisa and Sean! They are having a destination wedding in Sarasota, Florida. Marisa wanted the invitations to have a classic style, and she sent me an image of her gorgeous bouquet for inspiration.

I incorporated a coordinating floral illustration in shades of peach, azalea pink, burgundy, and sage green, and used a mix of different ivory shimmer and textured cardstocks with champagne paper accents.
