			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Aina Elise Momquist, 90, died peacefully at her home, in the care of her children on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.</p>
<p>Aina was born February 21, 1922 in Alafors, Sweden. She was employed as a Registered Nurse in Sweden and also at Illinois Central Hospital in Chicago retiring May 1, 1971. On May 29, 1971 until 2001 she owned and operated the Scandinavian Boutique in Homewood, IL.</p>
<p>On August 21, 1954 she married Stig Gustav Momquist in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1999. Aina was very active in Chicago&#8217;s Swedish Community. She was the founder of Linnea; South Suburb Swedish Women; and a member of the Swedish American Museum; American Daughters of Sweden; Vasa Order of America, Bessemer Lodge; Swedish American Heritage Society of West Michigan. Her love for needlework led to the founding of the Homewood Embroiderers Guild. In Michigan she was a member of the River Valley Garden Club and Harbert Community Church.</p>
<p>Survivors include her children, Anna Maria (Ken) Adair of Homer Glen, Illinois and David Momquist of Tulsa, Oklahoma and grandchildren, Kurt (Laura) Adair and Camilla Adair.</p>
<p>Cremation will take place. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Harbert Community Church. Interment of her ashes will be in Starrkar, Sweden next to her husband Stig.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Three Oaks – Mary Jo Bieg, 70, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Thursday morning, April 26, 2012 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City, Indiana.</p>
<p>Mary Jo was born September 4, 1941 in Evanston, Illinois to Harold and Elizabeth (Scanlon) Klee. After graduating from high school, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Mundelein College. Mary Jo married Gerald L. Bieg on January 19, 1962 in Brighton, Colorado. She and her family where involved in buying and selling horses. Mary Jo was an artist, specializing in watercolor and other mediums.</p>
<p>Survivors include her husband, Gerald; daughters, Mary Zilke of St. Paul, Minnesota; Patricia Krumrie of Bridgman, Michigan; Amy Springer of Galien, Michigan; Michelle Deau of Three Oaks and Penny Wegner of Three Oaks; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild and one sister.</p>
<p>Cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Mary Jo&#8217;s family farm, 14475 Three Oaks Road, Three Oaks, Michigan from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2012.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Galien – Ernest D. Chesser, 89, of Galien, Michigan died Saturday morning, April 21, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.</p>
<p>Ernest was born December 15, 1922 in Clark County, Illinois to William and Editha (Mills) Chesser. He moved to the Galien area in 1951, and on March 7, 1952 he married Norma Knoblett in South Bend, Indiana. She preceded him in death on January 19, 2005. He was employed as an electrician at Clark Equipment Company in Buchanan, Michigan before his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending time in his garden. Ernest was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.</p>
<p>Survivors include his children, Doug (Eileen) Chesser of Stevensville, Michigan; Sue Chesser of Buchanan, Michigan and Deb Chesser of Coloma, Michigan; grandchildren, William, Michael, David, Theresa, Anthony and Angela. He was preceded in death by one brother and 4 sisters.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm ET on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home in Three Oaks, Michigan and on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm CT at Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am CT on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Goodwine Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>NEW BUFFALO– Helen Claire Brower, 91, of New Buffalo, Michigan died Sunday morning, April 15, 2012 at Jordan&#8217;s Nursing Home in Bridgman.</p>
<p>Claire was born May 3, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to George and Mary (McGuire) Kercher. Following graduation, Claire worked at International Harvester for eight years. Claire married Donald Brower in 1958. She was a care giver her whole life, and enjoyed caring for children and loved ones. She attended St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.</p>
<p>Survivors include her son, Steve Brower of New Buffalo; her granddaughter, Jaime Nicole Brower; great-granddaughter Brook Forrester; nephews: Tom Rockwell and James Rockwell; niece, Debbie Hines; and five great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her grandson Jason, her sisters Dorothy and Marietta and her niece Sue Hines.</p>
<p>Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, New Buffalo with the Reverend Father Craig Lusk, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.</p>

<p>Edna was born February 7, 1920. She married Arthur Howell, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Eldy, AZ, president of the United Methodist Women&#8217;s Circle, president of the Delta Theta Tau Society and the choir.</p>
<p>Survivors include her children: Susan Cooper, Rodney Howell and David Howell; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Galien United Methodist Church with Pastor Stephanie Allen-Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Three Oaks – John Ponegalek, age 68, of Three Oaks, Michigan passed away surrounded by his family Thursday morning, April 12, 2012 at his home. </span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">John was born December 10, 1943 in Lakeside, Michigan to the late John C. and Stella (Holy) Ponegalek. John joined the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. During a leave stateside he married the love of his life Marilyn Pavur on March 19, 1966. Following his discharge they lived in several different states before settling into their current home in Three Oaks, in June of 1973. John worked in the foundries at Clarke Equipment, Independent Steel and Bendix, later owning and operating Rep-Tile. After retirement he remained active and did construction work and property maintenance. A true outdoors man, John loved spending his days hunting, fishing, or working in the yard. He took hunting trips to Colorado, Wyoming and Canada and dreamed of a trip to Alaska he was to take this fall. John was proud of his service to his country and was a former member of the Three Oaks American Legion and was a member of the New Troy American Legion WeeChik Post #518. Above all, John adored spending time with his family and loved every moment spent with his grandchildren.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Ponegalek; his daughters: Christine and Allan Gnodtke, and their children Tyler, Kyle, Kelsey, of Three Oaks, Carey and David Lohraff and their children Julia and Jacob of Galien, and Candace and Jay Czuk and their children Brandon and Olivia of LaPorte; brothers and sisters: Donald (Judy) Ponegalek, David (Patricia) Ponegalek, Lois (Gordon) Krishbaum, Laverne (Arthur) Hut, James Ponegalek, and Keith (Linda) Ponegalek; and many nieces and nephews. </span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Pobocik Funeral Home with a prayer and eulogy service at 7:00 pm. A private service with military honors will be held at a later date. </span></span></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Heston – Timothy Lewis, 52, of Heston, Indiana died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home.</p>
<p>Tim was born February 25, 1960, in Buchanan, Michigan, to Jim and Junie (Hall) Lewis. He graduated from New Prairie High School. For 30 years he was a dedicated employee at New York Blower. Tim enjoyed time spent at home with his family, and loved relaxing with his dogs, Champ, Lucy and Boomer.</p>
<p>Survivors include his children: Steve (Jodi) Lewis of Rolling Prairie and Monica Smith of Heston; grandchildren: Alexis Cantrell, Mallory and Tori Lewis and Paige Smith; his longtime companion Lisa Foster; brothers and sisters: Ruth ( Dan) Lee, Vicki (Jon) Lewis, Lori (Dan) Miller, and Jim (Stacie) Lewis; and his children&#8217;s mother, Maria Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents.</p>
<p>Memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm EST on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks.</p>
<p>Memorials may be given in Tim&#8217;s memory to his children, Monica Smith and/or Steve Lewis.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">NEW BUFFALO– Elizabeth Marie Shawver, 92, of New Buffalo, Michigan died Tuesday evening, April 10, 2012 at her home, surrounded by family.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Liz was born November 10, 1919, in East Chicago, Indiana to Michael and Mary (Kolonin) Hreha. On May 10, 1940 she married Berl Donald Shawver, who preceded her in death in 2002. They moved to the New Buffalo area in 1974 and were two of the first residents of the Michigan Shores Country Club neighborhood. Liz attained her LPN from Purdue University and worked at St. Catherine&#8217;s Hospital. Liz was also employed for many years at Inland Steel. She was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Michigan City, IN. She was a long time supporter of the St. Jude&#8217;s Hospital and the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Liz enjoyed painting and pencil sketching and collecting many different items, like tea pots, dolls and angels. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Survivors include her children, Donald and Christine Shawver of New Buffalo, Robert and Gail Shawver of Hammond, IN, and Kathleen Mosley of LaPorte, IN; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and her brother Michael Hreha. She was preceded in death by her husband Berl and her granddaughter Kim Shawver. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am CST on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Michigan City, Indiana with Reverend Father Keith McClellan as celebrant. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 pm EST on Friday at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm EST on Friday.</span></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Galien – Isaiah Thomas Lee Walkden, 2 years old, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Michigan City, IN.</span></span></p>
<p>Isaiah was born on September 7, 2009, at Lakeland Hospital in Niles to his mommy and daddy, Brittany Baker and Jacob Walkden.</p>
<p>From his birth, Isaiah was “Little Man” and was constantly on the go. He loved fishing and riding his bikes outdoors. Pizza was his favorite food! Just like the characters in his favorite movie Cars, Isaiah went racing by everyone as he boogied all over the place.</p>
<p>Survivors include his parents: Brittany Baker of Galien and Jacob Walkden of Three Oaks; his half-sister: Lily; his grandparents: Emily Harrison (Andy Quint) of Galien, Howard Lee Baker, Jr. of Buchanan, Stephanie Goodman (Thomas Jackman) of Michigan City, and Richard Walkden (Joyce Siuda) of Galien; great-grandparents: Richard Walkden and Barbara Ferris, Howard Baker, Sr. and Kathy Moree, and Diana and Kenneth Quint; great-great grandparents: Richard and Bernice Walkden and Leland Williams; aunts and uncles: Howard Lee Baker, Kathy Baker, Paige Baker, Cheyenne Baker, Daylon Walkden, Cara Goodman, and Cody Goodman; several great aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his special cousin Kaydenn.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks with Pastor Lewis A. Lambert and Betty Lambert officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00- 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.</p>
<p>Memorials in Isaiah&#8217;s memory be made to the family for expenses.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>GALIEN– Mary Agnes Doyle, 94, of Galien, Michigan died Friday evening, April 6, 2012 at Jordan&#8217;s Life Care Center in Bridgman, Michigan surrounded by her loving family.</p>
<p>Mary was born January 4, 1918 in Charlevoix, Michigan to Emerick and Maria (Svajalenka) Olack. On November 22, 1941 she married Lee F. Doyle at St. Mary Church in Niles, Michigan. She attained her R.N. Degree at St. Joseph Nursing School in South Bend, Indiana. She was employed as an RN at Pawating Hospital in Niles for 28 years. Mary was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Three Oaks; the Roy Chilson American Legion Post #344 Auxiliary of Galien; and the Galien Historical Society. She enjoyed fresh flowers, playing Euchre, and taking rides in the country with her sister, Ann. Mary loved and cherished her family. Her children describe her as a wonderful mother and role model.</p>
<p>Survivors include her children, Judy (Satch) Koltay and Susan Doyle of Chicago, Illinois; Pat Doyle of Boise, Idaho; Margaret (Mitchell) Gearhart of Tampa, Florida; John (Kay) Doyle of Bellevue, Michigan; Sheila (Joe) VanDenDriessche of Niles and Lisa (Fred) Schaller of Bridgman; daughter-in-law Lesta Doyle of Galien; 16 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lee in 1970, sons James in 1975; Michael in 2000 and Thomas in 2009; and by 7 siblings.</p>
<p>Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church with the Reverend Father Donald Suberlak, C.R. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Galien Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday.</p>
