			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>New Buffalo – Sharon Hamann, 62, of New Buffalo, Michigan died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at her home.</p>
<p>Sharon was born December 5, 1949, along with her twin sister Susan, in Michigan City, IN to John and Viola (Hejda) Semenic.</p>
<p>Following her graduation from River Valley High School in 1968, Sharon married Gerald Price and they shared 20 years together. Sharon&#8217;s life was again blessed when she met and married Stephen Hamann, on June 29, 1996.</p>
<p>Sharon enjoyed sharing the word of God with anyone she met. She was a member of the Living Way Four Square Gospel Church, where she organized the group that volunteered at the Soup Kitchen. Always active, Sharon loved to eat healthy and exercise, participating in marathons and triathlons. She owned her own housekeeping business which also kept her very active.</p>
<p>Above all, Sharon cherished every moment spent with her family. She traveled with Steve and participated in many outdoor activities with her family. She was a fun loving woman who added joy to every adventure.</p>
<p>Survivors include her husband Steve; her children, Vance (Julie) Price of St. Joe and Erica McGreehan of New Buffalo; step-children: Amy (Mike) Wheeler of Valparaiso, Kristen (John) Wasemann of Valparaiso, Brandi Hamann of New Buffalo, and Cody Hamann of South Carolina; grandchildren: Zoe and Libby Price, Masun and Althea McGreehan, Andrew, Isabelle, and Kevin Wheeler, and Gracie Wasemann; her brothers and sisters: Elizabeth (Ronald) Seifert of Plano, IL, Sandra (William) Lewis of Three Oaks, JoAnn (Allan) Pickert of Lee&#8217;s Summit, MO, and Susan (Bill) Hudson of LaPorte; sister-in-law Carol Balik of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lawrence Semenic.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks with Pastor Vic Prietto officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to Score International for the mission trips of Courtney Dixon / Korbi Forker, including their names in the memo portion of the memorial.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Galien – Florence Zbacnik, 91, formerly of Baroda, Michigan and Galien, Michigan died Tuesday morning, January 31, 2012 at Royalton Manor, St. Joseph, Michigan.</p>
<p>Florence was born May 21, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Andrew and Antoinette (Bienias) Szczech. She attended Business School after graduating from high school . On April 24, 1957 she married Joseph T. Zbacnik. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1993. Florence and Joseph raised their two sons in Galien, Michigan where Florence worked at the O&#8217;Malley Clinic. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Three Oaks and also a member of the Moose Lodge of Buchanan. Florence was a loving mother and grandmother.</p>
<p>Survivors include her sons, Joseph Zbacnik of Lawrence, Kansas and Stephen (Cynthia) Zbacnik of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Jacob, Joelle, J.T. and Jonathon; and her friend, Ann Spencer of Baroda.</p>
<p>Cremation has taken place. Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks, Michigan is serving the family.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">MaryJane Clara Carlson, 83, of New Buffalo, Michigan died Sunday afternoon, January 29, 2012 at West Woods of Niles.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">MaryJane was born January 31, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Clarence and Marie (Freislinger) O&#8217;Grady. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at Secretarial School. MaryJane was a woman who kept busy at work and volunteering. She was employed as a telephone operator in New Buffalo for many years and during some of those years she also drove school bus. She raised her family in New Buffalo and was active with the Singing Sands Council of the Girl Scouts of America. MaryJane mentored 6th graders in reading at the New Troy Campus of the River Valley School District. She was also a member of the AT&amp;T Pioneers of America and the River Valley Senior Center. She shared her talents to ease others pain as she taught Rehab Patients to focus on crocheting or knitting. She enjoyed bird watching, and absolutely loved traveling and outings with her friends.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Survivors include her companion, Arthur Mullins of Three Oaks, Michigan; children, Thomas Carlson of LaPorte, Indiana and Theresa (Donald) Beck of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Scott, Dawn, Valerie, Matthew, Brian, Timothy and Andrew; great grandchildren, Zachary, Gabe, Benjamin, Kayle, Toree, Colin, Bode, Dominic and Landon. Her son, James Stanley “Skip” Carlson preceded her in death in 1992.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Cremation has taken place. Pobocik Funeral Home in Three Oaks, Michigan is serving the family.</span></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>George H. Swanson, 70, of Three Oaks, Michigan went to be with his Lord, January 11, 2012, at his home.</p>
<p>George was born May 19, 1941, in Elmhurst, IL to Arthur and Alice Swanson and graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1959. He attended Concordia College and Elmhurst College. George worked for TWA and Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.</p>
<p>After moving back to the Three Oaks area he participated in Music in the Park,  Harbor Arts, TWA Windy City Retirees, and was president of the Berrien County Association of Churches.</p>
<p>On April 15, 1973, he married Laura Janese Crews. They were active members of the Harbert Community Church.</p>
<p>Survivors include his wife, Laura Swanson; son, Steve (Laura) Swanson of Maryland; grandchildren, Victoria, Gabriel, and Jackson; sister, Mary Kay (James) Specht; brother, Ted (Patricia) Swanson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Harbert Community Church with Pastor Kyle Small officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm, prior to the service.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Buchanan – Shirley “Lee” Bradley, 81, of Buchanan, Michigan died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles.</p>
<p>Shirley May was born May 20, 1930 in Alhambra, CA to Harold and Verle Emma (Stafford) Hinchy.</p>
<p>On February 14, 1950 she married Roland Bradley in Osceola, IN, he preceded her in death on January 3, 2011. Lee&#8217;s life work was caring for her family, and she loved every moment with them. She was talented in the arts; playing the guitar and piano, singing, publishing children&#8217;s stories and poetry. Lee enjoyed crocheting and knitting and adored watching birds, especially hummingbirds.</p>
<p>Survivors include her children, Matthew (Nancy) Bradley of Buchanan, Joel Bradley of South Bend, and Sue (Bobby) Whetzhel of Lakeland, FL; 15 grandchildren, ; 24 great-grandchildren, and her brothers, Harvey Hinchy of IN, Jack Hinchy of AZ, and David (Pearline) Hinchy of TN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter Martha Reifel and her brother Michael Hinchy.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks . Interment will follow at Galien Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Galien – Thomas Longfellow, age 77, of Galien, Michigan died unexpectedly Thursday morning, January 5, 2012 at his home.</p>
<p>Tom was born May 8, 1934, in Galien to the late Lena (Miller) and Howard Longfellow. He graduated from Galien High School in 1952. Tom served his country stateside in the US Army. On August 10, 1957, he married Pauline Freehling. For over 35 years, Tom worked as a casting inspector for Bosch in St. Joe, Michigan, retiring in 1996. He cherished every moment he spent with his family. For 37 years, they spent every weekend during the summer at Swan Lake in Allegan, MI. Tom also enjoyed vacationing with his family in Florida and had recently returned from there visiting his brother. Tom never missed an opportunity to spend the day outside in his yard and loved tending to his garden.</p>
<p>Survivors include his wife, Pauline; children, Dale Longfellow, Cindy (Larry) Norris, Tim Longfellow, and Pam (Dale) Bailey, all of Galien; grandchildren, Mandie Stansbury, Andrea Longfellow, Lauren Barkman, Jenna Longfellow, Tom Norris, Becky Norris, Kharysa Longfellow, Miles Longfellow, Ryan Bailey, and Derek Bailey; 8 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Charles “Bud” (Rachel) Longfellow of Port Orange, FL and Robert Burl (Eleanor) Longfellow of Baroda, MI; sisters-in-law, Norma Freehling of New Troy, Mary Lee Leazenby of Buchanan and Arlene Burkett of South Haven, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tom was preceded in death by his granddaughters, Brandie Longfellow and Cynthia Norris, and his sisters, Helen Dodd and Carmen Foster.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Sunday at the Pobocik Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Galien Cemetery with military honors.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to the Galien United Methodist Church or the Roy Chilson American Legion Post 344 in Galien.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Richard “Dick” Novacek, 68, of Lakeside, Michigan died Sunday morning, January 1, 2012 at his home.</p>
<p>Dick was born January 13, 1943 in Michigan City, Indiana to Anton and Virginia (O&#8217;Donnohue) Novacek. He graduated from New Buffalo High School in 1961 and continued his education at the IBM College in Chicago. Dick was employed by the US Postal Service in Union Pier and then in New Buffalo for 38 years. He drove school bus for the New Buffalo Public Schools and also served on the School Board. He enjoyed sitting in his car at the beach, watching the boats go by. Dick always had fun with his classmates from the Class of &#8217;61. He always seemed to have a smile on his face and was known to recycle cards to bring a smile to others. Dick was devoted to his family and friends.</p>
<p>Survivors include his wife Pamela; children, Kimberly (William) Novacek-Herod of Lakeside and Richard Anton (Jennifer) Novacek II of Chicago; and his rat terrier, Marilyn Monroe. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Joseph Novacek and sister Daryl Sullivan.</p>
<p>Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks with Mr. Garry Lange officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with a Prayer Service at 8:00 pm Wednesday with Fr. David Kroczyk officiating.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Virginia Beldorth, 90, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.</p>
<p>Virginia was born July 22, 1921 in Marion, Michigan to Elmer J. and Lolita (Dewey) Rohen. She graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1939. On November 22, 1945 she married Jacob Beldorth in Three Oaks, he preceded in death on June 14, 1980. Virginia was employed as a secretary for E.K. Warren and also at Clark Equipment Company. Although not fond of cooking, her children enjoyed her unique dinner choices on the occasions that their father was not cooking. Virginia was known to serve strawberry shortcake or ice cream for the main course. She enjoyed the outdoors, tending her garden and flowers. She created many collectables and china dolls for family and friends with her china painting. She also created ceramic pieces and was a seamstress. Virginia was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Three Oaks and enjoyed being a part of the Altar Rosary Society. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.</p>
<p>Survivors include her children,Steven (Kathy) Beldorth of Lakeside, Michigan; Sherry Ann (Daniel) Krause of Ft. Myers, Florida; Carol Jean Beldorth of Three Oaks and Joyce (Danny) Patrick of St. Joseph, Michigan; grandchildren, Stephanie, Ion, Alex, Dana, Julie and Mark; great grandchildren, Jacob and Jaxon and her brother Donald Rohen of South Bend, Indiana. Her sister, Elizabeth Rosenthal preceded her in death.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks with the Reverend Father Donald Suberlak, C.R. officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held beginning at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to the Randall Couchman American Legion Post #204, PO Box 141, Three Oaks, Michigan 49128.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Charles “Sonny” Ackerman, 88, of Galien, Michigan died at his home Saturday evening, December 31, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.</p>
<p>Sonny was born November 1, 1923 in LaPorte, Indiana to Rollin and Julia (Jeffery) Ackerman and graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1941. Sonny attended Michigan State University until he was called to serve his country in the US Army during WWII. On September 15, 1945 he married Donna Albertson in Hudson Lake, Indiana, she preceded him in death on June 22, 1990. Sonny was an entrepreneur and farmer, owner of Ackerman Enterprises, enjoying working on the family farm, in the orchards, the years spent in the egg business, and running the Valentine House B and B. He was a proud Democrat and local politician, serving on the zoning board. Sonny taught Sunday School for over 20 years at Maple Grove United Methodist Church. He loved to sing at church, and was a member of the community choir, as well as a quartet. He enjoyed his horses, gardening, and talking with others about his family&#8217;s genealogy.</p>
<p>Survivors include his children, April Counterman of Ft Wayne, IN; Rollin (Dawn) Ackerman of Three Oaks, Michigan; William (Missy) Ackerman of Galesburg, Michigan; Curtis (Chrystal) Ackerman of LaPorte and daughter in law Barbara Ackerman of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Benjiman, Carrie, Katie, Olivia, Nikolas, Charlie, and Abigail; 7 great grandchildren, and his brother Douglas (Ada Jean) Ackerman of Aberdeen, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his son, Ben in 2003, and by his brother Jack and sister Mary Catherine.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am CT on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, New Carlisle, Indiana with the Reverend Robert Raschka officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm ET Tuesday at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks, Michigan.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>William V. Russell Sr, 82, of Lakeside, Michigan died Friday night, December 30, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Michigan City.</p>
<p>William, known to his family as “Jeff” was born June 19, 1929 in Portland, Tennessee to Ira B. and Lizzie L. (Haase) Russell. He served his country in the US Army following WWII. On January 8, 1949 he married Verniece Brown in Michigan City, Indiana. She preceded him in death on October 12, 2009 after 60 years of marriage. Jeff was an equipment operator, employed by the State of Michigan for 32 years before his retirement.</p>
<p>Survivors include his children, William (Fay) Russell Jr of Sawyer, Michigan; Victoria (Leonard) Ross of Dowagiac, Michigan; Shirley (Larry) Hamilton of Michigan City, IN and Christine Dale of Midland, Michigan; ten grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sister, Marcella (Ernie) Rhodes of Stevensville, Michigan; brothers, Leonard (Carol) Russell of New Buffalo, Michigan; Homer (Molly) Russell of Michigan City and Omer (Bev) Russell of Michigan City. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Pauline Harrison and brothers, Ira and Jerry.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, January 2, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held at 10:15 am on Tuesday at Lakeside Cemetery with the Reverend Father Donald Suberlak, CR officiating.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to the Life Care Center of Michigan City, 802 E US Highway 20, Michigan City, Indiana 46360.</p>
