Review: All Glory to the Pixel King!

Too often we've seen block-building games that imitate rather than iterate on Mojang's template.
In one way, then, it's refreshing to see All Glory to the Pixel King! try to spread its wings a little. It takes pixelly block-building as the bas...

Building on the foundations of the original game, Sprinkle Islands adds a few gameplay tweaks and fancy graphical effects, utilising the graphics engine developed for studio stablemate Granny Smith.
Mediocre co-founder Henrik Johansson was keen to show ...

Review: CandyMeleon

It goes like this:
Sweet animal + desirable item as objective + simple physics gameplay x sweet cartoon art-style = cha-ching.
The respective makers of Angry Birds, Where's My Water?, Cut the Rope, and Tiny Wings are clearly au fait with this simple rule.
The question is,...

You know, the relatively new free-to-play spook-fest from Civilization and XCOM: Enemy Unknown developer Firaxis.
No? Okay, allow us to educate you.
Haunted Hollow is a turn-based strategy title of sorts. In it, you have to construct a large haunted house suitable for all manner of otherworldly creatures and ethereal beings.
You must use the inhabitan...

See if you can guess which iOS app was the inspiration for new eShop game Groove Heaven

In that iOS game, you had to tap to the beat of the background music to move. This helped you tiptoe through heavily guarded mansi...

Almost inevitably, it has also gained its fair share of imitators, and Survivalcraft is the latest to join the ranks of clones clogging up app stores worldwide.
However, to totally dismiss Survivalcraft as derivative would be unfair. While the game makes no att...
