Hands on with AiRace Speed for the 3DS

One of the unexpected gems I happened across during my time at E3 2013 wasn't a huge AAA title or even on offer at Sony or Nintendo's booths.
Instead, it was AiRace Speed - the 3DS successor to the Pocket Gamer Gold Award-winning DSi classic, AiRace.
Like the original AiRace, the concept behind AiRace Speed is pretty simple: you hop into a futuristic sci-fi jet and careen through a challengi...

Kemco rolls a critical saving throw vs. retail price, drops RPG Alphadia 2 and Dark Gate to 99c / 69p on iOS

Kemco knows this well, and is hosting another hefty sale for two of its select iOS titles.
Beginning Tuesday, June 18, the Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winners RPG Alphadia 2 and Dark Gate are on sale for 99c / 69p - a full 86 per cent cheaper than their regular asking price of $...

Review: Agricola

It will talk at you about crops, occupations, livestock, and mating, and it'll feel a lot like sitting an exam you haven't studied for.
Bear with it, though, because when things start to click - which they will, slowly but surely - you'l...

Put your wallet away, son: Random Heroes 2 is free for a limited time

Good news! It's now available to download from the App Store completely free of charge.
Random Heroes 2 is an action-packed platformer from Ravenous Software, whom you probably know as the creator of the ever-popular League of Evil franchise.
Anyway. In this side-scrolling title, you assume the role of a world-saving hero, pick up a weap...

We loved PWN: Combat Hacking here at Pocket Gamer.
We loved it so much, in fact, that we handed it one of our shiny Silver Awards. Oh, and we called it a "ferociously intense multiplayer-focused real-time strategy game".
We did have a couple ...

Where's My Mickey? is its name, and it's inspired by Disney Television Animation's Mickey Mouse Cartoon Shorts, which Disney Channel will air in the UK for the very first time on July 11th.

XCOM Week: Top 5 turn-based tactics games on iPhone and iPad

After some extensive research into the subject (well, a five-minute Google search), we've found that the dividing line is not entirely clear.
But I think it comes down to scale.
In strategy games, you command nation-sized armies, with turns that can last decades. Tactics games are about intimate squads, and orchestrating t...

For every one we take down, another seems to spring up in its place. And another.
Oh, well, at least fending off this relentless undead onslaught just got a little cheaper, for Phosphor Games Studios's movie tie-in World War Z is now available for just 69p / 99c on iOS and for just 63p on Android.
At review, we gave World War Z a 6/10 and described it as...
