Building on the foundations of the original game, Sprinkle Islands adds a few gameplay tweaks and fancy graphical effects, utilising the graphics engine developed for studio stablemate Granny Smith.
Mediocre co-founder Henrik Johansson was keen to show ...

Hands-on with the Nokia Lumia 925

On the outside, it looks, well, very un-Lumia like.
For fans of the range, that might be something of a worry. It appears Nokia has decided to put its own signature...

Hands-on with Zombies Ate My Friends

The undead have been done to death.
It's even getting tricky to find a specific video gaming genre that hasn't had the undead liberally thrown at it in an attempt to exploit this - thankfully fading - zombie craze.
Freemium is another craze, attracting similar complaints o...

Hands-on with EA's Tetris Blitz - will you pay $40 to hold two blocks at once?

The game has now gone live on the App Store and Google Play in Canada, as part of a soft launch campaign. We went hands-on to find out exactly how you play, and - more importantly - how you pay.

Hands-on with Warhammer Quest - swords, sorcery, and Snotlings

There are only so many times that your favourite films, boardgames, or whatever are going to be turned into video games, so it's heartbreaking when an opportunity is squandered.
By the same token, it can be very exciting indeed when a developer buys into a franchise as much as you do...

Hands-on with Frozen Synapse, Mode 7's cruel, cyberpunk-tinged strategy shooter

From the stark neon lines of the battlefields your team of glowing soldiers stalk across to the granular precision of the orders you can give, everything shimmers with the air of a RAM and processor-powered simulation.
And that feeling is amplified by this iOS version. It's hard not to imagine yourself the anti-hero of some cyberpu...

Hands-on with Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and more" border="0" align="left" style="margin:5px 10px 10px 0px;"> Nintendo might have shared some fairly gloomy financial news with the rest of the world yesterday - with both the 3DS and Wii U missing their sales targets - but the outlook for the future couldn't be much more positive for the Japanese giant.
Off the back of yet another engaging Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo went that extra mile last week to put its new software into the hands of the pre...

The arrival of an official sequel to 1991's legendary A Link to the Past might well have caused a dangerous serotonin overload.
And at Nintendo's hand-on event today in London, we got an unexpected early opportunity to sample one of the game's levels ahead of the title's release, later th...

In this gentleman's eyes, the destination is less important than the journey. This is what you're dealing with in this slightly cracked part of the United Kingdom.
So, when Damp Gnat's creative heartbeat Reece Millidge turns up in one of Brighto...

According to the game's developer, this fresh approach to finger-friendly controls will "completely redefine the first-person shooter for touch devices". Now, that's quite a claim.
The basic idea is that you use a handful of familiar iPad gestures - like tapping and pinching - t...
